Entering the Temple
Going through electrical storms was not fun at all.
I thought that I got over my initial fear of being blasted out of the sky by Zeus back on Earth, I thought that fear was way beyond me. It looks like I was wrong as soon as I started going on ships and entering the atmosphere of other planets.
So there I was, in the Ebon Hawk (the battle ship we use for missions like this) trying to fly safely down to the planet surface. If it weren't for Alec, I would've definitely not have gotten past all these storms.
Suddenly, he looked at a screen on the control panel. "Scanners are picking up something."
I looked at the screen and frowned. "What is that? Some sort of structure?"
Alec shrugged slightly. "No idea, but it's big."
I looked out the ships window, wondering what was that strange structure the scanners had noticed. Suddenly, through the thick clouds I saw a massive black shape right in front of us. I frowned, until my eyes widened as the clouds parted and I was staring at the walls of a huge tower.
It was like a spiral pillar that just went upwards into the sky. It was connected to what looked like a metal pyramid, which was maybe...I don't know, two hundred and four stories tall? It was definitely huge, whatever it was. But the spire was what got me - at the very top was what looked like a massive box with windows covering it.
Surrounding the building was a lower city and a huge forest, which encircled the city. It wasn't as grand as the building, but I could see some broken down buildings and streets.
The whole sight sent chills down my spine. I tried reaching to the Force, only to find...nothing. No life forms in the city, and the only Force presence I could sense was coming from atop the massive spire building.
"I've never seen that before," I muttered.
Alec grimaced. "Looks like something the Sith might own. What do you think?"
Sith...oh, man I don't hear that word everyday. Those guys were the user's of the Dark Side of the Force; the evil warriors who only think inwards, and only about themselves. I actually ran into a few of their followers during the war with the Mandalorian's, and it hadn't been a pleasant meeting. They thought that they could profit from the war and gain more followers, however the Jedi Council had put a stop to their organisation before any real damage was dealt to the people of Malachor. However, there were unconfirmed sightings of Sith movements on some of the Outer Rim planets such as this one.
"I'm not sure, this thing looks seriously old. I don't see how someone could live in a place like that, however I can sense a Force presence at the top of that spire - in that central room.
Alec looked where I was pointing, frowning even deeper. But his eyes looked somehow...I don't know...different. Like he knew something that I didn't. In that moment, I saw a very dark look in my friends eyes.
"Well, whatever and whoever the kriff is up there, we'll find out soon," he assured me.
I nodded, getting up to slip on my usual Jedi combat clothing. I crossed over to the locker and retrieved my mixed clothing of leather and cotton. The under layer of my clothing consisted of black cloth and cotton, going down past my waist and attaching to a loose flap (so if you you picture a leather duster jacket, it sort of looked like that but made with a different material). Attached to the top of this cloak was a hood that reached past the front of my hair. Finally, the leather garments that go with the attire - black gloves with a medium brown colour that go past my wrists and a leather breast plate that clipped together with my cloak. Next, I attached a leather belt across my waist and clipped it on. Trailing down from the belt was a long red cloth that went down to about my knees.
The only thing left was the mask I got when I was on Malachor V. I regarded the mask with a look that would make anyone think that I was thinking deeply. My reflection glared back at me through the masks glass visor.
I picked the mask up and placed it on my face, strapping it behind the back of my head. The view through the visor was just the same as ever - the whole world was a tinted light blue. The mask was comfortable to wear and everything but the visor was a nuisance. It did well to protect my face, but the only weakness it had was that it could get seriously hot when heated up.
To finish off my attire, I clipped my two lightsabers to my belt, feeling more better knowing that they were with me. Yoda had droned it into my head that my Jedi weapon should always be right next to me. I had to keep them at my side constantly - I even had to keep them close to me when I was sleeping. I had to apologise to my teammates so many times when I have a nightmare. The reason why was because when I wake up from a nightmare, I always end up having one teammate on the floor with both my sabers levelled at their throats.
Alec looked at me and smirked. "You know that it never ceases to amaze me when I see you in that suit of yours."
I smiled and responded, my voice sounding more metallic when I speak. "You're one to talk. Your red suit makes you look like someone who was dunked in red paint."
He scowled. "Yeah, whatever. I'm just slightly envious that you've got better clothing than me and all the others."
I smirked, unbeknownst to Alec. I patted him on the shoulder. "Come on Alec. Let's go check this out. We'll be back on the Phantom by sunset. By then, all this Mandalorian crisis will be over."
"It better be. I'm done with all this hassle."
===========
When the ship landed, me and Alec immediately stepped out cautiously. But when I stepped out first, I was hit by violent winds that I didn't expect. It was ruthless walking into winds like this. I wrapped my arms around myself to keep my cloak on - to make sure that it didn't go off, I placed the hood over my head and kept it firmly in place.
Alec kept one hand raised up, so he could see where he was going. "I didn't expect it to be this windy!" he shouted over the roaring winds.
"It must be the storm clouds!" I yelled back. "With a storm this big, it must be a hell of a nightmare traveling through this! Let's get inside that structure and see what is inside!"
"Alright, let's go!" Alec started to walk forwards, which was like seeing him do a Michael Jackson lean motion from Smooth Criminal, which almost made me laugh.
It took us a while to get inside but we finally managed to infiltrate the building. But when I saw what was waiting for us inside took me completely by surprise.
Waiting for us was a battalion of battle droids, aiming their blasters at us and speaking in binary, obviously ordering us to put our hands up. Without saying anything, me and Alec pulled our lightsabers out - Alec's was a deep blue colour, and he held it firmly in his hands; I, on the other hand, had two lightsabers ignited. I had a blue lightsaber and a green lightsaber. The reason being was because blue and green were my favourite colours, and it made me stand out amongst all the other Jedi in the Order.
"Halt," one droid ordered. This droid looked like the leader of the battalion as it had a yellow stripe going down his light brown metal body. "Deactivate your weapons. Surrender."
Alec and I looked at each other and pushed the droids backwards, using a powerful Force shockwave. With the droids disoriented for a moment, I leapt forward and started hacking at anything in my path, my lightsabers like a maelstrom of blue and green. Alec somersaulted over one droid and slashed it in half, kicking a droid backwards as he landed.
One droid remained, and the metal being raised his blaster to shoot me down. When the ray of energy got close to me, I simply raised my hand and absorbed it using the Force ability known as Tutaminis. I threw my blue coloured lightsabers at the droid and next thing I knew its head clattered to the ground. The lightsabers back into my hand and I deactivated both my weapons.
Alec scanned his surroundings, clipping his deactivated lightsaber to his belt. "I didn't expect that. There could be more of them around here."
"We'll deal with them on the way to the top," I said, looking across the temple hallway and saw an elevator. "Let's go."
Alec didn't need to be told twice. We got in and we rushed towards the top.
I didn't realise at that moment that I was heading right into a trap...
I didn't have time to think as the elevator doors opened and I heard the voice of a very evil man.
"Ah, so I have the company of Jedi with me. How delightful."
