Chapter Nineteen
They all nodded their heads at different times. "Then go through the door." I nodded my head towards it, and they all quickly scurried in. I chuckled silently and let the water crash back in. I walked into the water, greeting all of the animals, and then walked out with Ener, Skiá, and Kide. Everyone was staring at different animals on the wall while I sat on my bed. Kide laid at my feet watching the rest stare at the walls in shock while Ener and Skiá sat on my lap. I chuckled silently and then greeted all of the animals. As they all turned towards me, Tony gasped and fainted. With my fast reflexes, I was off my bed and under Tony in a flash. I quickly sat up and checked him over. Brice tried to come over, but I waved him off. "His pulse is beating a little too fast, but the rest is good." I stood up, carried Tony to my bed, and sat next to him, keeping a close eye on his heartbeat. Father was absentmindedly watching Equestrua (hippocampus) while the rest were staring at Rinas, Cero, Aerium, and Ignis (alicorn, unicorn, pegasus {Airborne}, and dragon {Fire}). Ignis was playing with the three by having them buck him off onto another one's back. He spurted flames every now and then, but never at one of the horses. Multom stuck his head through the glass and rested it next to me. 'My lord, who are these people?' I heard several animals agree with his statement and I frowned. 'These are the avengers, the people that own this building.' The giraffe looked over at the team and so did every other animal. Some of my friends came in from the different rooms to stare at them as well, sizing them up. Multom lifted his head and licked my cheek. 'Ok, my lord. But are they dangerous?' If I ever saw a giraffe ready to take violent actions, it was then. Multom had his teeth bared and ears flat to his head, almost exactly like a wolf would. 'No, well yes, but not to me, only to our enemies.' Multom nodded his head and then retracted it back into the tank. The rest of the animals gave them all one last dissatisfied and distrusting look and turned away to continue with what they had been doing before. I sent calming waves down to the fish in my mattress while I continued to monitor Tony. The Avengers came over and sat on my bed, only for my fish to push them off. Father wisely stood by the side of the bed, but Clint and Steve landed in clumps on the floor. An indignant 'Hey!' was given by Bruce, but he and Natasha stayed on their feet. Tony's eyes slowly fluttered open while he groaned and I stood up. One of his hands flew to his head as he tried to sit up. Once Tony saw us all around him, a smirk overcame his pained expression. "Hey, give me a healing billet, would ya Percy?" I flipped my ear piece into a gun and collected the healing magic before letting it go with a pull of the trigger. As expected, Tony's agony slowly washed away and he was able to sit up properly and assess the situation. "What happened?" Natasha rolled her eyes. "You fainted." She deadpanned. He rolled his eyes. "After that." I shot Natasha a look and she shut her lip. "My animals got protective, but then calmed down once I explained to them that you all are not threats to me." Tony nodded his head and frowned slightly. "You have freaky pets." I laughed, clutching my stomach. As soon as the feeling passed, everyone was staring at me oddly while Father came and hugged me. He slid next to me and I smiled sadly at Tony. "We're going to get along just fine."
Carter's POV
I stretched as Sadi and I walked off of the plane. Apparently New York City, New York was the busiest of places. We had researched the place before we went, and apparently this was the best place to look. We had no idea what to do when we first got there, so we walked through the streets, looking for our hotel. The air was littered with birds and car horns, while the streets were chalk-full of people and beggars. We walked, just letting our magic fan out, and tried to stay out of the way of rushing people. We looked at the biggest building in the sky, apparently home to the 'World's Mightiest Heroes', the Avengers. I scoffed inwardly, but still looked on in interest. Especially once my magic detected hints of what was left of the massive power explosion. That must be our place. I looked at Sadi and she nodded. It was already so late though, we decided to visit tomorrow in the morning. It took us about ten more minutes to get to our hotel, but it was worth it. As we walked into the lobby, I could have sworn everything sparkled. The man at the front desk was polite and graciously handed us our room keys while asking us if we had any luggage for the bell boy. We looked at each other in shock for a second, but then shrugged it off. "No, we are going back to our car later. We can pick it up then." The man nodded and gave us a pleasant smile. I nodded back and walked into the elevator with Sadi. She elbowed me in the ribs. "Way to go doofus. I knew we should have brought our stuff with us normally, but no. You didn't want to carry your own clothes!" I winced. "Yeah, but it was a good lie, right? Don't you think he bought it?" Sadi looked at me like I was the dumbest person in the world. "Yes he bought it, but we shouldn't have to lie just because we were careless with our magic! We need to make sure we play it safe." I nodded solemnly after she finished. "I'm sorry sister, I just feel so riled up with the possible threat of another powerful being and no Horus, or Isis." Sadi sighed. "I know Carter, but we need to power through. We'll get them back somehow, just wait."
