Secret's Revealed: Yami Yugi P.O.V
He saw me?
How was that even possible? I'm supposed to be only visible to Yugi, so how did this newcomer see me?
"Pharaoh?" Yugi asked in concern, as he sat at a desk sorting out deck out. "How did that Jackson guy see you? That should've been impossible."
"I don't know, Yugi," I answered honestly, feeling just as confused as he felt. "Normally, I could keep myself hidden, but he looked right at me as if he could actually see me through the Millennium Puzzle's power. He is one strange person."
"Do you think he can see duel spirits as well?" Yugi asked, his curiosity rising. "Since he can see you?"
I shrugged. "I honestly have no idea if he can. Though I can sense a very powerful aura around him. Him, and his two cousins. Plus, I can see that he's a tough duellist, since he's using a deck based around dragons and the Blue Eyes."
"That I can agree with," Yugi agreed. "And I thought Kaiba had all of the Blue Eyes cards. Apparently, there are more out there. And not just that, but he's using Dark Magician cards as well." He shrugged, smiling slightly with a determined look in his eyes. "Still, he's a challenge and both you and I know we like a challenge."
I looked at the cards he was putting into the deck we use. When I saw the Dark Magician, I smiled fondly. "You know, out of all the cards that we used in our deck, I've grown quite fond of Dark Magician."
Yugi smiled, holding up the ultimate wizard. "I know. There's no way can we build a deck without this card. He's gotten us out of more duelling jams than we can count."
He placed the card on top of the deck and stood up, stretching and yawning. "Well, I don't know about you but I'm gonna get some sleep. Important day tomorrow."
"Ah, the...date with Teá," I smirked.
Yugi's face went bright red. "It's not a date. It's just two really good friends hanging out together."
"Really? And I thought I saw a spark between you and her."
Both me and Yugi spun around quickly and saw Percy leaning against the door frame.
"Jeez, you nearly gave me a heart attack!" Yugi said, holding his chest with one hand.
Percy chuckled. "Sorry if I startled you."
I looked at him, taking in everything about him. He seemed to be somewhere in his early twenties, with messy jet black wavy hair that reached his shoulders; he had fiery sea green eyes and he was built up like a fighter - not like a bodybuilder, but like a swimmer of some sorts. On his left hand, I could clearly see that engagement ring of his. And I thought he didn't look like a guy who would settle down for anything.
He caught me noticing him. Instead of questioning or freaking out, he nodded respectfully which surprised me greatly.
"So come on," he said to Yugi. "What's the deal with you and this guy?"
"Wha-?" Yugi began to ask.
"Don't deny it, I can see him clearly," Percy said. "I've been around a lot of ghosts and spirits in my time so it doesn't bother me. What intrigues me is that no one else can see him apart from me, Nico and Jason."
"They can see me as well?" I asked, shocked at the news.
Percy nodded. "They're both like me - they're able to see anything through the Mist."
"The Mist?" Yugi asked, perplexed.
Percy hesitated for a fraction of a second. "Me and my cousins are part of a world that many believe doesn't exist anymore. That's because the Mist manipulates what they see - it's like a veil that keeps people like me hidden from the mortal world, which is what you're part of."
I looked at him nervously. "You make it sound like...you're not human," I said slowly.
Percy shrugged. "Well, I'm what you call a half-blood. It means I'm half human. The other half is...well, immortal."
My eyes shot open in shock. "You're a DEMIGOD?!"
Percy nodded. "My full name is Perseus Alan Jackson, son of Poseidon, god of the sea and Hero of Olympus."
==========
Me and Yugi spent the next few hours awake talking to Percy, who had so many stories to tell us about his life. I had to admit that this guy had a rough life to begin with, though I was slightly happy that he had managed to find happiness in his later life. Speaking about his wife and daughter made him smile widely, which made him look a couple years younger.
"So, you're deck mostly contains dragons?" I asked him, reaching the subject of decks.
Percy nodded. "I have a flare for dragon and warrior type monsters. Jason also has a deck of Warrior type cards too, but he also mixes thunder and winged beast type monsters in it, while Nico uses a deck based on fiend, rock and zombie type monsters. As for the new deck I have..."
He brought out his deck. "As far as I know, it's mostly centred around the Blue Eyes. But there are some warrior type monsters in it, as well as some magician type cards. I also have other types of dragons in it as well, but I haven't checked those yet." He felt the deck in his hand as if weighing it. "There's over one hundred and thirty cards all together in this deck, and I haven't checked all of them out yet."
Yugi nodded, patting the desk he was sitting at. "Okay then, let's have a look. Let's see what's in that deck of yours."
Percy looked at his deck, and flipped each card face up in a straight line. I looked at the line of his cards and I was impressed by what he had in it. There were so many different Blue Eyes cards that I lost count. Not even that, but he also had Synchro cards as well.
"Blue Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon!" Yugi exclaimed in awe. "Hey Pharaoh, check out its abilities: 'When this card deals battle damage, inflict double piercing damage on your opponent'. How cool is that?"
"An impressive ability for a ritual monster," I admitted. I looked at Percy. "And you say that you found these cards in a crater?"
Percy nodded. "It was in some sort of capsule, and it crashed into the forest of Camp Half-Blood. I found the deck inside it and it just transported me, Jason and Nico here."
He stood up on his feet, and walked up to his cards. "All this happened after I looked at this card."
He pointed at one of the cards, where I could see that it was an ability monster. I looked at the image and saw the likeness of a dragon that was mechanical in some parts, with dark blue orbs on its wings, forehead, knees and chest. It had silver and sky blue lightning infused eyes and it gave off a sort of glow.
"Blue Eyes Shining Dragon," Yugi read the card title. He checked its abilities. "'Must be summoned by sacrificing one Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, or by the effect of Shining Horizon. Increase the attack point total of this card by one thousand points, for each individual dragon type monster in your graveyard. Once per turn, this card can use any ability. You can sacrifice this monster to destroy any card on your opponents side of the field. This card is not affected by any monster, magic or trap effects that designates it as a target.'"
Yugi looks blown away by the abilities this dragon has. "Jeez, this is a very powerful card."
"Yes, you're right," I agreed. "I can literally feel the aura coming off that card. It's almost primordial in a way."
"It's not just that," Percy said. "Before me and my cousins got engulfed by that light and was brought here, I saw that very dragon appear in front of me. It just stared at me before it vanished."
"Most monsters would do that," I told him. "They would sometimes like to see their newest masters. But this only happens to those who can see duel monster spirits. You're obviously one of the few lucky ones, if you can see the spirit of the Blue Eyes Shining Dragon."
"I'm guessing that it's the same with you guys and the Dark Magician?" Percy asked.
"It's mainly most of our monsters," Yugi explained. "They're attracted to him in some way because of his presence. You see, Pharaoh here can't remember anything about his past - not one bit. All of our monster friends that live inside our deck seem to know him, but it's very hard to try and get anything out of them. We both believe that all the answers are locked away in this." Yugi held up the Millennium Puzzle.
"The Millennium Puzzle?" Percy frowned. "But if that's true, then it's got to be more complex than that." He looked at me, and I swear his face just went sympathetic. "He really doesn't remember anything? Anything at all?"
"All he knows is that he was the pharaoh of Ancient Egypt five thousand years ago, round about the time when duel monsters first started. And you're right, the Puzzle is way more complex than what it looks like on the outside. Inside, it's like a gigantic maze that just goes on forever, with doors holding empty rooms and traps. We've tried extensively to find some answers by going through some of these doors but-"
"No luck," Percy finished. "Well, if you think about, after five thousand years stuck in the Puzzle, there's bound to be endless complicated situations. Heck, when I went amnesiac when I was sixteen because of Hera, the first thing I did was try and retrace my footsteps. Looking for anything that might be familiar - something that I would've heard of or be recognised with. Anything in particular, and when I did I would get some sort of flashback. It's like an image that makes no sense, but it gives you the feeling that you've been in that scenario before."
"I've tried that," I sighed. "But I found nothing that seemed familiar to me. At all."
"Well, according to Joey and Teá, as well as Yugi's grandfather," Percy said slowly, "the monster that you seemed very fond with is the Dark Magician. They said that you and Yugi used it in every single duel you had in Duellist Kingdom. It's been rumoured to be your ace. Am I correct?"
I nodded. "Yes, it's proven to be a great asset and friend of mine and Yugi's deck. It's helped us more times than we can count."
"Well, duel monsters has been going on for five thousand years, and the Dark Magician happened to be one of the first monster cards created by Pegasus," Percy concluded. "Maybe the reason why you're fond of it is because it was your monster during that time."
I thought on what he had said. Now that he mentioned it, he had a point. Every time I played the Dark Magician, I would feel a certain pain in my head as if it were a minor headache. I would catch my magician looking at me as if it were remembering something and I could tell that it was very protective of me.
"You might be on to something," I said.
Percy smiled. "Well then, you know where to start. But a bit of advice: don't think on it too much otherwise it will just go straight into the back of your mind. When I did that, it was like my mind and I were literally fighting each other, and the harder I tried to remember, the more the memory gets fuzzier. It's not a feeling you should have. I would say that when and if you remember anything, quickly write it down on something."
I smiled, nodding slightly. "Advice taken. Thank you for helping."
Percy smiled, before collecting his cards and began walking out of the door. He turned around quickly. "Oh and Yugi?"
"Hmm?" Yugi asked, turning around.
Percy smirked that trouble making smile of his. "Don't be afraid of telling Teá how you feel about her, man."
Yugi's cheeks went red. "I - uh - me and Teá are just friends."
Percy raised his eye in a 'not convinced' way. "You like her, she likes you. I could see the way she looked at you when I was duelling Joey. She's grown very fond of you. I should know because me and Annabeth went through something similar - both of us liking each other, but neither of us were brave enough to say how we both felt about each. I was in the same boat as you are now, and I almost lost the chance to tell Annabeth how I felt about her. I was glad that I managed to tell her. Now, you have a chance. My advice to you: don't miss this chance, otherwise you'll regret it for the rest of your life."
After that, he left the room, leaving Yugi to think thoughtfully on his words.
"He is right about one thing, Yugi," I told him. "You're in love with Teá, and you need to tell her before it's too late."
"I know," Yugi said, looking out of the window. "I know."
