Chapter 4: exploring Olympus

I sighed as I looked out the window. Mother had a stupid counsel meeting. Even worse, it was the winter solace meaning that the stupid camp was here. Which said I couldn't go out and enjoy the beauty of Mount Olympus without risking them spotting me. I groaned softly as I let myself fall to the floor. Fotiá looked at me with a confused look.

"There's nothing for us to do. Mom is in a meeting, and those stupid campers are here." I told him. Fotiá meowed at me.

"They could see us, and you know how mom was last time someone almost spotted me." He meowed once more.

"You do bring up a good point. If I'm nowhere near the throne room, they won't even be there." He gave a meow that sounded like he was saying, 'I know I do.' I chuckled softly.

"You're one sassy cat; you know that?" I told him. He gave a small cat smirk before rubbing his cheek against mine. I could feel the heat from his cheek. I hopped up and let him get to his favorite spot.

For some reason, Fotiá enjoyed curling up around my neck. I scratched his head before writing a note in case mom came home before me. With that done, I opened the door and went to explore Olympus like I had done many times before.

An hour or so later, the door to Hera's palace opened and in walked the queen of the gods. She looked just as she did those years ago when she first adopted Percy. The place was surprisingly quiet. Usually, when she had a meeting, her son would play some music that blasted throughout the house as he and his pet Fotiá played hide and seek. He somehow bested the cat many times and would put smart even her when she went looking for him. He took the game a little seriously.

She found it strange the lights were on, and it was so quiet that the sound of a pin dropping would have sounded like thunder. She looked around and even called out the two names.

"Percy Fotiá! Where are you two?" Her voice echoed through the empty halls reminding her too much about the millennia without Percy running amuck. "Where are those two?"

The queen went to the kitchen to grab some ambrosia for her headache. When she did, she saw a note on the fridge. She grabbed it and sighed as her eyes followed the words on it.

Hey mom. Fotiá and I decided to explore Olympus. Don't worry; we will stay far away from those demigods visiting. Maybe we'll even find a delicious cafe that has something Fotiá will eat.

Small scratch marks were showing Percy had let Fotiá add his little touch to the message. She sighed as she rubbed the bridge of her nose.

"I swear that boy will be the reason I fade." She muttered to herself. She placed the note down. "If he's not back within the hour, I'll go and look for him."

Percy left his favorite cafe with a cake pop as Fotiá walked next to him.

"Man Jane is so nice! I mean, she gave us that sweet discount on your food pal!" Percy smiled at Fotiá as they walked. Fotiá gave his cat smile as he ran ahead. "Hey! Wait for me!"

Percy smiled even more as he chased after the small cat. They ran for a bit more until Percy tripped over what seemed to be nothing and rolled down a hill laughing down. When he finally stopped, he found himself in his mother's garden. He sighed happily as Fotiá sat next to him.

"Do you think she's ok?" Percy turned and asked Fotiá. Said cat tilted his head to the left confused. "My birth mother. Do you think she's ok in the underworld?"

Fotiá licked his cheek and nodded. Percy smiled at him.

"Thanks. You're probably right. She is a queen among women." He scratched behind Fotiá's ear. The cat purred softly. Suddenly a human face blocked Percy's view of the sky. The boy rolled over quickly and was in a fighting stance at once. The fur on Fotiá stood up.

"What are you doing in Hera's gardens? She'll be pissed if she saw a demigod here!" The voice belonged to a girl the height of a basketball player and the muscular body of a rugby player. She has dark "pig eyes," and pale brown hair. Percy looked confused for a second.

"What are you talking about?" Fotiá looked just as confused.

"What am I talking about?! Demigods aren't allowed here. She doesn't like us here." The girl said. She reminded him of the very few times he had seen Ares outside the palace.

"Then, why are you here?" The words left Percy's mouth before he could think. The girl grew flustered.

"I... I was..." she calmed down some. " that's none of your business."

"Fine. You better go running to that camp of yours. They leave soon, don't they?" He smirked. The girl must have realized the meaning and cursed before running off. "I hope you enjoyed the visit! C'mon Fotiá, let's head home."

And so they did.

I walked in with Fotiá on my head, another frequent spot he likes to rest and was instantly brought into a tight hug.

"Ack! Need.... air!" I barely got out. Mom let me go and glared at me.

"Don't ever scare me like that again!" She scolded me, and I could only nod. She can be a bit scary. "Also, you're grounded."

"What?! Why?"

"Someone could have seen you, that's why! Now go to your room!" I sighed and did as she told me. Damn it. I would find myself staring at the ceiling, thinking about that girl from before for the next few weeks. Who was she?

Sorry it's late. I lost track of time. Ok, so like I've said in other books, I will now have your choices for the son of guidebook here for as well. Your options are:

1. Doctor Who references
2. James Cantu
3. Traveling worlds

Chose wisely. Oh, and since no one could guess the references for the last chapter, they were both Pokémon references. The title is a reference to the show whenever you were halfway through, and they would give you an out like of a Pokémon to guess. The second was a reference to the games. For those who don't know if you come across an abra, you had one turn to catch it before it would teleport away.
