Chapter 6: Westover Hall
Percy knew many things. For instance, he knew that Persephone was not his mother's birth name. He also knew the look his father was giving him. He had to bite his tongue to hold back a sigh.
"I take it; you know why I called you here?" Hades questioned.
"To make me go find some soul who somehow escaped the underworld like with tantalus?" Was the response.
"Close. I need you to go collect your siblings." Confusion filled Percy. What siblings? Did father break his oath?
"Your father hasn't broken anything. They have just been to the locus hotel for years now." His mother chimed in as if she read his thoughts. Then again, she was a goddess.
"Where are they?"
"A place called Westover Hall. You must bring them here before the other gods find out." His father spoke sternly. Percy smirked and nodded. This will be fun.
☠️☠️☠️
Percy had been at this military school a little over a week now. It was becoming a tad bit annoying. But as far as anyone knew, he had been there since the semester started up. And he had most of them fooled except for two people.
One looked strangely like that satyr he ran into a few years ago in the underworld. The other was in charge of the school. His name was Mr. Thorn.
Anytime Percy was near Thorn, he had to hold back the urge to fight the man. His senses were always on high alert with this person that it was a slight bit annoying. One could only handle so much of something at once.
Either way, he had found his siblings relatively quickly. The youngest looked like a son of Hades but happier than most. The same could be said for the older sister. Percy had to hold himself back from hugging the two the moment he met them. It was always great to see another child of Hades even if they had gods who wanted them dead.
Being the great older brother he was, even though they were both probably much older than him, he made fast friends with them.
☠️☠️☠️
Thalia rolled her eyes as her cousin, even thinking that felt weird, tried and failed to flirt with her pseudo little sister. If they hadn't been in this bloody car with the boy's mother, she would have zapped him for even thinking of it. Sadly she would have to deal with Joshua's horrid flirting. How did Annabeth deal with this for two bloody years?
Thalia looked at the rearview mirror and saw Luke glaring at the son of Poseidon. At least some things never change. Thalia moves her gaze to the school that was slowly coming into view, tuning out everything going on within the car.
'This better have been worth it, Grover.' She thought bitterly. Thankfully they made it there quickly. Ending whatever had been happening.
☠️☠️☠️
Luke hated the inside of the castle looking school. The school itself reminded him of Arkham asylum from the DC universe. The interior made Luke feel like he was in an episode of scooby doo, and some creepy person or a monster would turn the corner.
As if the fates were messing with him, two adults came into view. One a woman and the other a man.
"What are you children doing here?" The woman asked, "no visitors are allowed at this winter dance."
'Well, she sounds just peachy.' Luke thought so sarcastically that he was pretty sure Thalia could feel the sarcasm. Joshua stepped forward and tried to get them to let them through and was failing. Thalia rolled her eyes. She stepped up and pushed Joshua back. A cold breeze went by despite the closed door as she snapped her fingers.
"We are students here. Our friend here," she pointed to Annabeth, "thought she had seen something fall outside and wanted to check it out."
The man didn't look very convinced and turned to his fellow adult.
"What do you think? Are they students here?" He asked. The woman nodded.
"Yeah. I have the blond boy in one of my classes, I believe." She commented. What dumb luck for Luke. And once again, he jinxed it as Grover ran over to them.
"You guys made it!" He beamed.
"What are you talking about mister Underwood. They are students here." The man smirked slightly.
"I-I mean they made t-the punch! It's r-really good!" He stammered. Eventually, they were able to get away to the dance hall.
"So, why did you need us to come here?" Annabeth questioned.
"Because there are three demigods here!" Grover whispered. "And strong ones if their scents say anything."
"Ok, so we have three probably strong half-gods. Any monsters?" Thalia cut in.
"Yeah. Just one thankfully."
"Who" came from Joshua.
"You just met him. His name is dr Thorn."
"Shit. Ok, where are the demigods?" Luke asked.
"Over there." Grover pointed to some kids on the bleachers. Two boys and a girl.
The girl had black eyes, which gleamed with either madness or genius and silky dark hair. She was lean and about a little shorter than average height. She had olive skin and wore a floppy green hat that hid her face.
The youngest boy had black hair that always looks like he just got out of bed (messy and shaggy) and olive skin.
And the final boy made Luke's heart jump. A few weeks ago, he had met a boy when he was going to pick up some supplies for his dorm room. The boy looked about sixteen and had black hair with some of it dyed red. But it was the boy's eyes that drew Luke in. His eyes were a mix of sea green and a reddish black. It looked like the sea with a red tint in the middle of the night. The sea calmer than he had ever seen, but if one looked closely, you would see the mischievous waters under the surface ready to drag one down. The boy was just. Wow.
Even now, Luke was drawn in by the boy. He didn't know why, but he was.
"Earth to Luke. Come in, Luke." Thalia's voice brought him out of his head.
"Yeah?" He asked as calmly as he could despite the heat rushing to his cheeks.
"We need to find a way to them without being obvious."
"Why?" She points to Thorn standing near them. Luke cursed under his breath.
"Go mingle for now." With a nod, they dispersed.
