Chapter 2: strange Encounters

"Father, can I please go to the surface for one day?" A now nine-year-old Percy asked Hades.

"No. It would be strange for a child to walk around without an adult." Hades told him.

"Please, father." The child begged.

"No. And that's final. Now please go to your room. I have a meeting to get to." Hades responded. He knew it sounded cold, but he was trying to be a responsible guardian to the prince.

Percy sighed and walked off. When he reached his room, he smirked. He grabbed a small black watch from his desk and ran into a dark shadow covered corner. He then was nowhere to be found.

☠️☠️☠️

Adam Rose was about ten years old. He had brown hair and eyes. He wore a short-sleeved hoodie and sweatpants. Adam was a normal kid. Or at least he would be had he not met a certain dark prince.

Adam didn't know his parents. What he knew from his aunt they had passed away when he was young.

Adam sighed and looked around. He was at the mall. Alone. He had grabbed some food at a pretzel place that had more than just pretzels. Like the cinnamon pretzel bites, he currently had.

Despite his boredom, the day hadn't been too bad. He had gotten some lunch, watched a movie at the AMC, and gotten a new necklace from one of the shops.

The next thing he knew, he was on the floor with his snack scattered on the floor.

"Shit." He cursed softly. He looked to see what had caused his crash and ruined food.

The person responsible was a young boy who looked to be the same age as him. He had black hair and sea-green eyes that held a ring of obsidian black. He was pretty pale for a kid his age, but hey, maybe he was one of those kids who stayed inside playing video games.

"Sorry, dude." He said sheepishly as he offered his hand to Adam.

"It's fine." He responded, taking his hand and getting up. "So, can I have the name of the dude who ruined my food?"

"Oh crap, sorry about that! I'm Percy," he spoke nervously.

"Adam, and if you want to make it up to me, then buy me some fries," Adam said jokingly.

"Ok," Percy grabbed the boy's hand and walked to the food court by finding the area with the most life force around it.

By the time Adam realized what was happening, he was sitting at a table eating fries and drinking a sprite. Percy had the same with a small smile.

"You know I was joking, right?" Adam asked.

"You were?"

"Yeah! How did you even get this? Your wallet doesn't have any money in it!"

"Yes, it does. It has drachmas." Percy told him as he took out the said golden coin.

"Those aren't made from gold, though!"

"What are you talking about? Of course, they are made of gold."

At this, Adam just sighed. He gave up with this kid.

"What are you doing here alone, anyway?" Adam asked.

"I could ask you the same thing," Percy responded.

"Touché," then there was a pause.

"So, what are things like here?" Percy asked. "Better yet, where is here?"

"Small town two hours from New York," Adam told him. Percy nods. "And it's a bit boring, honestly. Not much happens."

"Well, ok. Wanna go do something?"

"Sure. How about We go to hot topic?" Adam suggested.

"Hot, what now?" Was his response. Adam rolled his eyes before dragging Percy to the store.

☠️☠️☠️

After a few hours of exploring the mall, they walked outside with smiles. Percy now had on a black leather jacket with a skull and bones on the back of it. On his jeans was a small silver chain. He was carrying two bags. One held some candy he bought at a sweets shop, and the other held some books, comics, and manga.

"This was fun!" Percy said happily.

"Definitely. I gotta head home, but I'll see ya again soon, right?" Adam asked him

"Hell yeah, man! This is the most fun I've had in forever!"

"Great."

Adam turned to leave, but suddenly he turned back only for Percy to be gone with no proof that he was ever there. Adam shook his head and headed home.
