What NOT To Do In A PJO/HoO Fanfiction

This is just my opinion, so don't take it personally.

Example number one, don't let it get off-track. I guess this really applies to all stories, but especially when you're writing a fanfic.

Example number two, don't let your characters be off-character, or in other words, let them act like themselves. Like, if you're going to make someone sing or something, have Leo or Percy do it, not Nico or Reyna.

Example number three, don't do a crossover where everything is completely off. What I mean is that sometimes, fanfiction writers just completely leave out something really important. That's like writing a historical fiction and saying that World War II never existed. Because it did. And still does.

Example number four, you can't write it as if it's a teen fiction story. Seriously, please don't. I've read some where they make them so off-character that it's just hard to read, like a horrible movie.

Example number five, make sure you don't make fun of other people's ships. This is a big one. If your story has a lot of reads, I suggest you not do this. There is going to be at least two comments saying "HOW COULD YOU" or "WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT" And honestly, I've done that. But please don't say bad things about other ships.

Example number six, you can't make stuff up. This is a fanfiction, right? And in fanfictions, you're supposed to add onto the characters, so you shouldn't just give them a new power or something.

Example number seven, do NOT copy anyone's story ideas. When you read a lot, you tend to look up things that you're currently really into. So when you feel motivated enough to go write a fanfic, you automatically think of your favorite fanfics. And you might accidentally include a detail from those stories. This has happened to me before, and now it needs to change.
