Little Merman (Part 2)

Annabeth frowned staring out the window as her mother spoke. Queen Athena was going on about her daughter's upcoming nuptials once again. That's all she seemed to talk about really ever since Annabeth had been brought back to the castle. Athena had worried and coddled her daughter for all of five minutes before getting on with daily life.

Annabeth started out the window in the direction of the sea. As if hoping to see those green eyes looking back at her.

She had asked around and sent servants here and there but apparently, no such boy existed. Then who had saved her?

"Annabeth!"

Annabeth jumped startled and turned to look at her mother a bit sheepishly.

"Were you even listening to one word I just said?"

"You want Queen Hera to marry us."

"That was a few minutes ago," Athena said shaking her head. "How do you expect to be a good Queen if you don't even listen? And your supposed to be my smartest child."

Annabeth said nothing and tried to pretend like those words didn't hurt as much as they did.

"If your not going to listen fetch Malcolm for me. I need to speak with him."

Annabeth stood and gave a small curtsy. "Yes mother."

"You're day dreaming again," Piper says eyes rolling.

Percy huffs. "I'm bored. They won't let me leave the room!"

"You said that six times already."

"It's still true."

"So what are you day dreaming about?"

"The blonde..." Percy says quietly.

"The human? Are you serious?" Piper says shaking her head. "You saving her is what got you stuck here in the first place."

"So? Look me in the eye and tell me you aren't thinking about that blonde boy."

Piper her mouth before shutting it. Percy smiled triumphantly.

"Well it doesn't matter," Piper sighed. "We won't ever see them again. And at least yours knows you exist."

"Who says we can't?"

"What stupid idea is in that Kelp Head of yours now?" Nico asked swimming in from a corner of the room.

"Can you ever knock? Or do you just ink and appear wherever you want?" Percy asks.

"You already know the answer. Now what stupid thing are you going on about?"

"Where's Hazel?" Percy asks still ignoring Nico.

Nico rolls his eyes. "Since Frank is no longer watching your door she went out with him today."

"So no one's watching the door?" Percy says springing up a smile on his face. He flings open the door and the smile falls.

"Where do you think your going Prissy?"

Percy slowly closes the door and returns to his spot where he sat on his bed.

"So your idea?" Piper prompts.

"Well it wasn't exactly my idea..." Percy says.

"Who's then?" Nico asks.

"The weird guy who came in the dark."

The other two blink waiting for him to continue.

"Well after everything, everything turned pitch black and someone came and he asked if I wanted to see her again, that his mother had a way of letting me. Then he said he'd give me three days to decide and he'd be back."

"So a creep came two days ago, and your just telling us now?" Piper asks.

Percy nods slowly.

"Who was this creep?" Nico asks.

Percy shrugs. "No idea."

"We should tell-"

"Don't you are finish that sentence Di Angelo."

"Someone snuck into the castle Percy. In your room. I think that is something to tell your father."

"You appear in here all the time," Percy comments. Nico scowls.

"Actually I think he's right," Piper says. "You don't know what this guy is capable of."

Percy shook his head. "Not happening. I'll be stuck in this room for the rest of my life."

"And if this guy comes back?" Nico asks. Percy doesn't reply. "You're not seriously considering his offer are you?"

"I just want to know if she's alright!"

"Percy-"

"No. I just want to know if she's alive! Every time I try and help or save someone they end up dying!"

"You know that isn't true," Piper says. Nico nods in agreement.

"Really? Tell that to Zoë. Beckendorf. Silena. Lee. Castor. Leo! Bianca!"

At the last name things silenced. Blackness pooled around Nico as stared at Percy trying to keep his emotions under check.

"Is she alive? I have to know. I just want to see her."

"Seems I have good timing then."

At the sound of the strange voice darkness fell and all felt a strange sensation, dizziness wasn't good enough to explain it.

"Ow," Percy groans straightening.

He blinks as things come into focus. In the darkness he is able to tell he is no longer in his room. But rather in a throne room. Nico and Piper are next to him looking around. Percy turns to face the two in front of him. A man stands next to a woman on a throne.

"Welcome," The man says. "To the Mansion of Night."
