Hermes Framed

I can't believe I started this book just over a year ago. Anyway...

A year and a day after Hermes Fools comes...

Hermes Framed

Travis and Connor Stoll were out taking notes when they got jumped.

It was something they did yearly. Take notes that is. Not get jumped.

Every April 2nd also known as the day after Hermes Fools they would take their Book of Pranks out and walk around camp writing down what they thought was worthy. What pranks had gone well the day before and which hadn't. This information would be saved for a later date.

"Looks like the hidden alarm clocks worked great in the Hypnos cabin," Travis noted.

Connor nodded. "Next year lets throw in some air horns."

"Smart," Travis said jotting it down.

They were so busy writing they didn't noticed the two armed black haired girls. The girls quickly covered their mouths and dragged the two boys behind the cabin.

The Stolls finally got a look at their captors only to be confused.

"Annabeth? Piper?" Connor blinked.

Travis tilted his head in confusion. "Why is your hair black?"

"You tell me," Annabeth growled.

"Um..." Connor started. "You dyed it?"

Annabeth's eyes narrowed and she lunged forward dagger in hand. Piper restrained her.

"We didn't dye our hair," Piper told them. "You obviously know that. You're responsible!"

"What?" Both boys asked in unison.

"We had a truce!" Annabeth shouted. "Last year we help you turn our boyfriends into aninals! In return you guys wouldn't prank our cabins on April Fools Day anymore!"

"We didn't!" Travis promised.

"We swore on our Book of Pranks!" Connor shouted. "That's basically the River Styx for our cabin! We're being framed!"

Annabeth and Piper's eyes met. The two seemed to have a silent conversation before Piper spoke. "It's almost 9:00 am. You have 12 hours to prove this wasn't your fault. If not..." She trailed off letting her threat hang.

Connor gulped and Travis nodded furiously.

"Scram before I change my mind," Annabeth growled.

The two boys took off running. The sprinted back to their cabin and threw the door open.

"Guys we have an emergency!" Travis shouted gaining everyone's attention.

"We are being accused of a prank we did not commit!" Travis yelled.

They paused waiting for reactions. Their cabin mates only rolled their eyes and went back to what they were doing.

"The prank we are being accused of is against Annabeth Chase and Piper McLean!" Connor added and silence fell over the cabin. Cecil tentatively raised his hand. "Yeah?"

"I thought we had a truce? Cause if not I had some good stuff planned," Cecil said.

"We do have a truce. But someone disobeyed it."

"We only have until 9pm," Travis informed the group. "If we don't figure out who did it by then. Annabeth and Piper will..." He gave an involuntary shiver. "I don't even want to think about it."

"First off we need to see who here has black hair dye," Connor said.

The cabin turned out their stuff. Black paint. Black spray paint. Blue hair dye. But no black hair dye.

"Okay let's split up," Travis decided. "We'll canvas the camp and figure out who did it."

Everyone agreed and headed for the door.

"Wait!" Connor called. "It's April 2nd! We have to be extra careful! So what do we have to do everyone? On three! One. Two. Three."

"Avoid Chiron," the cabin chanted.

"Okay. Break."

A couple hours passed and unfortunately no progress had been made.

"I think we might need help from a third party," Travis said leading the way.

Connor groaned when he realized which direction they were walking. Travis lead the way to the Demeter Cabin. He only had to knock once on the door before Katie Gardner slammed the door open and glared. "You've got a lot of nerve coming here today of all days Stoll."

Travis backed away behind Connor. "We come seeking help!"

"Help?" Katie asked unimpressed.

"If you help us we offer a truce for up to thirty days!"

Katie paused before walking outside closing the door behind her. She folded her arms and waited. "I'm listening."

Travis came out from behind Connor as he explained. "Last year we made a truce with Annabeth and Piper. This year someone pranked them. They think we did it. We-"

"Stop talking."

"But-"

"Stop talking!"

"But!"

Katie covered Travis's mouth. "I said stop talking!" She hissed looking around. She lowered her hand and stepped back pretending to look angry as she whispered. "Annbeth and Piper are after you! You're a wanted a man! I can't be seen talking with you! Meet me at Zeus's fist after lunch."

~~~~
"Okay. I have an idea," Katie said once the Stolls had explained.
"Who?" Travis demanded.
"Well... I was thinking about who's most likely to have hair dye at camp. And a whole cabin came to mind... The Aphrodite Cabin. Maybe someone in there did it to frame you both. So, who in the Aphrodite Cabin did you both piss off?"
Travis and Connor's eyes met.
"Piper obviously. Lacy last week but I don't think she'd do that," Connor said ticking off his fingers.
"Mitchell," Travis continued. "Drew..."
The two kept going and Katie facepalmed. "So all but three people?"
"No," Connor denied. "All but four."
Katie rolled her eyes. "That didn't narrow it down too much..."
"So what do we do now?"
"You should tell Piper and Annabeth."
"We can't get near Piper or Annabeth without risking our lives," Travis pointed out.
"We need a puppet!" Connor exclaimed. "Someone we can get to talk to them who will do what we want and has less risk of getting murdered by the two girls."
Travis nodded in agreement. "Now who..."
Both boys eyes met.
Katie shook her head. "No. They'll kill him."
"We can live with that," both said in unison.
~~~~

"Hey! Percy!"

A blue haired Percy who was exiting his cabin slowly backed up as he saw who was coming. "Hi guys," he gave a nervous laughed and quickly looked around.

"We need to ask you something!" Travis told him.

"Um... Annabeth told me not to talk to the two of you..."

"Then just listen," Connor said. "Tell Annabeth and Piper that we went through everyone and everything in our cabin but we couldn't find black hair dye. Well we found the blue we used on you- which doesn't look bad like I expected. Maybe next year we'll go red. Travis write that down," Travis took out their Book of Pranks and scribbled a note. "Anyway we found no other hair dye. Meaning... No one in our cabin did it."

"And," Travis continued. "That in all of camp black hair dye is most likely to be found in the Aphrodite Cabin. We are being framed by someone in there."

Percy paused. "First off. Absolutely no red."

"Definetly red," Connor whispered.

"Secondly... What do I get out of telling them?"

"Well we didn't want to have to resort to this..." Travis said pulling out a bottle. A bottle of Cherry Coke.

Percy's eyes wanted. "Is-is that blue?"

"It's yours if you go tell them..."

Percy bit his lip.

~~~~
Annabeth looked unimpressed she locked eyes with Piper before she responded to Percy. "First off, it was kind of stupid for you drink that Coke. I'm pretty sure your mouth is gonna be blue for a week. Secondly. It's true that black hair dye would most likely be found in the Aphrodite Cabin. But, that doesn't mean it couldn't have been planted there."
"I'm only a messenger," Percy said raising his hands in an I-surrender-manner. "A blue mouthed messenger."
Annabeth rolled her eyes.
"Well Mr. Messenger," Piper said. "Mind fetching us the Stolls? Tell them to meet us within the hour."
~~~~

Percy regretted his decision as soon as he entered the Hermes cabin.

Blue powder and paint appeared out of nowhere and coated him top to bottom.

"Sorry man!" Someone laughed.

"Yeah! We just had extra stuff!" Someone else said taking a picture.

"Well good luck surviving Annabeth and Piper without my help!" Percy shouted and stormed out leaving a trail blue him.

"Uh... What did we miss?" Travis asked walking in as Percy stormed pass him.

"No clue but, I think we're screwed," Connor answered watching Percy go.

~~~~
"Maybe we are looking at this the wrong way," Katie mused as she walked with the Stolls to dinner.
"We are running out of time!" Connor said. The entire cabin nodded behind him. While they would later deny it, one or two left a few tears escape.
"We've been focused on who has something against all of you. What about someone who has something against them?"
"What?"
"I'll think about it more over dinner," Katie promised walking to her table.
~~~~

"Katie! It's 8:45!"

"I can read a clock Travis."

"Then think faster!"

"Who in the Aphrodite cabin would have something against- I got it!"

"Lead the way!" Connor shouted. Katie nodded and ran off to the Aphrodite cabin. They got there and knocked on door.

Mitchell opened it. "Hi."

"Can I come in?" Katie asked. "It's super important."

"Sure," he shrugged letting them in. "Piper. Annabeth!" He called.

The now black-haired Annabeth and Piper sat talking on Piper's bunk.

"We were framed!" Travis shouted.

"We told you guys to meet us hours ago," Annabeth stated.

Connor shook his head. "No you didn't."

"We sent Percy over."

"Percy... Well you see there's a funny story with him..."

Katie decided to intervene. "I have one request. All I ask is that everyone here takes out their hair dye. If they do that I can tell you who the culprit is."

"Fine," Piper said. The cabin memebers slowly took out their hair products.

Once everything was turned out and cabin members held their items in their arms. Katie surveyed the group and smiled at her theory being right. She then turned to Annabeth and Piper. "I decided to think about who here has something against either or both of you. And I can confidently say that person is in this room. So, who in here has black hair dye but already has black hair?"

Annabeth and Piper's eyes widened.

"Drew," Piper growled.

"Yes?" Drew answered innocently putting her stuff down on her bunk.

"You dyed my hair? And Annabeth's?"

"Yup," Drew responded searching around for her nail file.

"Why?" Annabeth demanded.

"And why did you frame us?" Connor shouted.

"I wanted to," Drew shrugged. "And it was April first. What better day to do it?"

"There has to be a better reason than that," Katie said shaking her head.

"Okay you got me," Drew admitted giving the group her full attention. She fixed a glare on Piper. "I just wanted to make sure you realized your not even close to better than me- neither are you Annabeth!- I've been here longer than you so why should you be in charge of the cabin? So what if you got the Stolls to lay off! Why can't I be in charge?" She yelled.

"Cause, you're not a good counselor," Mitchell muttered.

"That's exactly why," Annabeth nodded. "You're supposed to think for your whole cabin. Not yourself. Though I admit framing the Stolls was smart."

"Hey!" Connor and Travis shouted they went ignored.

"This is the complete opposite of what you should do if you want to be counselor," Piper told Drew.

Drew opened her mouth but Travis spoke first after glancing at the clock. "Well it's 8:59 so we solved who didn't before the twelve hours were up right?"

"Yeah."

"Well don't we deserve an apology or something?" Connor said. "We ran around all day figuring this out!"

"I figured it out," Katie pointed mout.

"Katie. Katie. Katie," Travis said. "Don't hog all the glory."

"What?"

"But we do deserve some sort of apology or a reward will work."

Annabeth and Piper locked eyes having a silent conversation. Finally Annabeth sighed. "I'm sorry."

Piper nodded. "I'm sorry too."

The sons of Hermes smiled and high-fived each other. "I'm gonna savor this moment," Connor said wiping away a fake tear. The two turned to leave.

Annabeth rolled her eyes. "Don't let it go to your head, and it's still April second. Other's are out for revenge."

"We'll be fine!" Travis called back as they walked out. "It's nine. No one is still-"

"Ah, Travis and Connor," Chiron smiled. "I've been searching for the both of you all day."

The Stolls paled. "Styx."
