Divided (Part 2)

Remember that thing where Nico accidentally started a war between the Romans and Greeks I wrote a while back? Well it was gonna be a story but I couldn't create a storyline but I did write a couple more chapters (each are a bit short). So here they are. For Day Three.

Divided (Part 2)

Percy wanted nothing more than to punch the kid in the face.

Calm down. He told himself. No more fighting.

Percy kept his head down as he walked through the hall. To the side he could see some kid- bully who's name Percy didn't care to remember and his minions- were picking on another kid. Percy desperately wanted to jump in and punch the other kid but that would mean they would punch back and probably break their hands on his skin.

"Screw it," he finally muttered. He marched right up and before the bully could realize it, Percy swept out his legs, Percy grabbed the kid being bullied and dragged him around the corner to safety. Before the kid could even thank him, Percy had quickly walked to his first class of the day.

"What happened? What's wrong?" Paul asked as soon as his stepson walked in.

"Nothing. Why?"

"You walked in early. Are you feeling okay?"

Percy rolled his eyes taking his seat as Paul laughed.

~~~~
"Father," Nico said with a bow.
"You were caught," Hades deadpanned from his throne. "Hazel prayed to me."
Nico nodded as he stood.
Hades massaged his temples. "You do know why the two camps are separated right?"
"They fought during the Civil War... It- it didn't end well."
Hades nodded. "The Romans won't take kindly to this. And they now know the location of Camp Half-Blood... Go to Camp. Tell them what has happened. I will go to the council."
~~~~

Percy walked with his few mortal friends to their regular lunch table. They all chatted about nothing in particular.

Percy suddenly felt something was off. He looked across the room. No else seemed to notice the small boy clad in black lurking in a shadowy corner.

"Something wrong Percy?" Claire asked him.

Percy blinked looking back to his friends. "I think I left something in my locker."

"Your mom's cookies?" Jared asked hopefully. Percy only smiled. He placed his lunch tray down and casually walked to his locker. Her grabbed his backpack and then headed to the locker rooms before sneaking outside.

"You're slow," Nico said simply.

Percy already had his hand on Riptide in his pocket. "Where's the monster?"

Nico shifted awkwardly. "It's more complicated than that... We need to go to camp. Now."

"What's wrong?"

"I'll explain when we get there."

"Can I at least tell Paul?"

"Later." Before Percy could say something else Nico grabbed him pulling him into the shadows.

~~~~
"But why haven't all of them already been claimed?" Annabeth asked. "They're over thirteen. I know it has only been a few months since the war but others have been claimed."
Chiron sighed. "I'm not quite sure my dear. Perhaps-"
Chiron is cut off as two boys appear in the corner of the room. Nico looks fine but Percy stands a bit dizzy holding on to the side of the ping pong table. Annabeth runs over and gives him a hug.
"Call a meeting," Nico said. "Now."
"What about?" Chiron asked confused.
"It's my father's orders."
~~~~

"Do we have to have a meeting?" Connor groaned.

"We were setting up the prank to end all pranks!" Travis added.

"Good thing this meeting was called then," Katie muttered.

"Why are we here?" Clovis yawned.

"I believe Mr. Di Angelo can answer that question," Chiron replied.

All eyes turned to Nico who twists his skull ring clearly uncomfortable. After a moment he spoke. "There are obviously the Greek gods... But, after Greece fell, they were taken over and our gods changed becoming more warlike..."

"The Romans," Annabeth nodded as Chiron pales slightly.

"Can we skip the history lesson and get to the point?" Clarisse asked.

"So if Greek gods continued to have demigods... Why couldn't the Roman gods?.... Anyway, there is a Roman demigod camp in California- Camp Jupiter. I've been there... but they found out about Camp Half-Blood and me being Greek. They tried to arrest me but, I escaped. And now, I'm practically positive that they're going to declare war..."

There is a short pause before shouting commenced.

"What!?"

"You idiot!"

"Why haven't we heard of them before?"

"We just had a war!"

"I guess it makes sense..."

"Enough!" Chiron shouted. Everyone stops turning to him. He looks straight at Nico. "How did you find this out?"

"I have a sister- born before the oath... but she's a daughter of Pluto. My father told me to bring her to Camp Jupiter. But not to tell anyone because of what happened the last time Greeks and Romans met."

"What happened?" Annabeth questioned.

Chiron sighs. "It happened parallel to the Civil War. It was mainly fought here. Too many on both sides died... For that reason the two have been kept separate since."

"Why would you tell them something like that?" Will asked.

"A girl probably looked at him and he spilled," Drew said with a sneer before continuing to put on her make up.

Nico doesn't respond but looks downward slightly.

"Leave him alone Drew," Percy said with a slight glare.

"I don't get why you think you're all that. No one wants to date a gallon of make up," Clarisse interjected.

"Every guy wants me," Drew smiled batting her eyes at Percy.

Percy turned to face Annabeth and gagged.

"Yes everyone wants you and that's why you're the single one," Clarisse continued.

Drew opened and closed her mouth too stunned to talk.

"Why would you tell them that?" Will repeated.

"I didn't," Nico responded quickly. "I was speaking with the annoying augur and he mentioned that I was hiding something. I told him I wasn't and then... things go black."

"They could have searched his dreams while he was unconscious," Clovis said half awake.

Annabeth opens her mouth to question him but he is already snoring.

"So they invaded my my head..." Nico said slowly.

"Let's increase training," Chiron proposed. "Then I shall speak to the gods. Afterwards we shall see if we can send a group and propose a peace treaty of sorts. Dismissed."

The the senior counselors begin to leave all sending Nico some sort of look. Percy and Annabeth hang back with Nico.

"Nico," Annabeth started. "Will you explain to me the Roman's structure to me in detail? If it does come to war it will help."

Nico nodded slowly and Percy sighed. "Let's hope it doesn't come to that. We just finished a war."

The other two nod before following Percy as walks out the Big House and looks around at the campers. He shook his head and headed toward his cabin. "It can't come to that."
