Chapter 22: Destania's POV

Chapter 22: Destania's POV

After Aphrodite left, Alexandria had collapsed. I was afraid she was dead, but she wasn't. I quickly ran to get some ambrosia and nectar. After I had fed her, only a little color started to appear in her face. I knew her life was critical. There had to be another way. Right now, I would have been rejoicing. I had found out Ralph liked me. But instead, I was caring for another patient.

Earth came to assist me. She was such a great help. I knew that if I did it all by myself, the magic would drain me too. It was too much. Earth and I concentrated. We recited Ancient Greek healing formulas. Alexandria was still out of it. What else could we do? A thought sprang into my mind. We could use something we had on this ship. A smile spread across my face. I had the perfect solution.

Earth exchanged glances with me and smiled, as if reading my mind she said, "Go get it." I rushed to the kitchen and opened a cabinet. There it was. I picked it up and hurried back to Alexandria. Now I had to decide which one to pick. Gorgon's blood on the left is deadly, but on the right, it could heal anything: even in Alexandria's condition. The vials were exactly alike. Panic swept over me. What if I chose the wrong one? I heard a lingering voice in my head. It seemed to say, Choose, demigod. It's all in your hands. No pressure. It laughed evilly in my head. I commanded it to stop. Surprisingly, it did.

I decided to do an experiment. I caught a regular fish from the sea and poured the vial on the right side of the table on the fish. I could sense the fish's muscles getting stronger. The right vial was the healing one. By the time I got back, Earth had put a cool towel on Alexandria's forehead. Earth put her head on Alexandria's chest. Earth shook her head and mouthed, No heartbeat. Tears were streaming down my cheeks. Adam was trying to pull himself together.

There still was hope. I quickly poured the blood into Alexandria's mouth. I prayed to Apollo that it would work. I even prayed to Hades to spare her. Suddenly, Alexandria's eyes fluttered. The color from her face appeared. I screamed in delight. She was alive! Adam hid his teary-eyed face away from Alexandria's face.

"W-What happened?" she asked.

"Alexandria!" I hugged her. "You almost died!"

"I was pretty stupid, wasn't I?" she said.

"It's ok," I replied.

"No, Destania. It's not. Look at yourslef. You look deathly pale," Alexandria examined. I ran to the nearest mirror. Whoa. I ate some ambrosia. That outta do the job. Alexandria and Adam went to another room to talk. I followed. Hey. This could be interesting.

"Alexandria, I was so worried you were gone," Adam said.

"Really? You like me that much?" Alexandria asked surprised.

"Oh, yes. If-If I lost you, I could barely live another day. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me." I caught myself about to say, "Awwwww."

Alexandria blushed. "You too, Adam. I have wanted to tell that to you for a while. I just didn't have the guts." Adam lifted Alexandria's chin up. He reached in to kiss her. Alexandria did the same. They literally kissed for about 7 seconds. I covered my mouth to stifle a squeal. They let go. Suddenly, Aphrodite appeared right beside me. She sighed dreamily.

"Ah. Young love." I stared at her angrily. She was the one that almost made Alexandria disinigrate. I wanted to punch that goddess. "You know that was my plan!" she explained, "To get couples on this ship!" I was about to say something smart like, "How do you ever attract males. I don't think a snotty girl would attract a guy," but she vanished leaving the sweet smell of roses. I listened more.

"Do you want to go out with me, Alexandria Blaze?" Adam asked.

"Most definetly, Adam Chipotle," Alexandria replied. They linked arms and left the room.
