I See An Old Thought-Dead Friend And Give A Recap Of Demigodishness
I don't own any of the characters. All rights go to Rick Riordan and J. K. Rowling. Except for the plot. That is mine.
Thank you to @Phoebe_R5er for being the first comment. And to @JoshCoolerBookLover for being so... obvious with your choice. I think I know what house Percy will be in based on your reactions everybody. So thanks. It helps.
Percy POV
After Hecate blessed me with the knowledge and ability of wizards my age, my mom apparted (spelling?) me to England for who-knows-why. We appeared outside a building called 12 Grimmauld Place. I had a strange feeling that no one was supposed to see it. My mother walked up and knocked on the door. A kind of sandy-haired guy opened the door. His face lit up in shock. I take it he knows her.
"Sally! It's been forever! Come on in. Albus is expecting you two."
She smiled and followed him in. I followed a little more hesitantly. I had a feeling I wouldn't be near as welcome as her.
We walked into the kitchen and all talking stopped. Me being my ADHD self, couldn't stop fidgeting. Everyone was staring, only one with hatred. That was better than all, I guess.
Finally my mom spoke out, "It's been forever! Strange how we meet up again when this is why but... Oh! Where are my manners? Percy, these are my old schoolmates or just people I know or maybe don't throughout the wizarding world--"
"Oh yes mom. Real specific on that one," I interrupted.
"Oh hush up!" She said back. "People from the wizarding world, this is Percy. My son."
Dumbledore spoke up now. "Yes, so I invited Percy here for some reasons only the Order know and then the obvious of we don't wish for Voldemort to get him, now do we? Percy, I invited the entire Order so introductions will only be made once. That is Tonks, then next are Lupin, Sirius, Mad-eye,..." he rambled on until he said, "Now where is Severus? He was here a moment ago."
"Here, headmaster," Severus Snape said coming out of the shadows. I felt my jaw drop a little and my eyes widen. The whole of the Order saw my face. Some like Harry got suspicious. Others, curious.
Dumbledore looked between us as comprehension dawned on Snape as well.
"Yes, you two know each other don't you?"
Snape swallowed. "Yes. We do," he managed to get out before shutting his mouth so tight I thought it would break.
I tilted my head at him.
"What? No hello? I've thought you were dead for a year and all you say is 'Yes we know each other'. Seriously?"
"Yes, Jackson. Seriously."
My eyes narrowed and it was clear I was having a hard time holding back a grin. Same with him. People were looking back and forth at us probably thinking, "Snape is smiling. The world has ended. Everyone run for your life".
We finally broke, both of us laughing so hard I thought we would die. Everyone stared at Snape like he was an alien. I might as well have been invisible until Severus had the guts to say:
"Well, I never thought I'd be in the presence of the Hero of---" He was cut off by my hand and my glare. I didn't realize how fast I moved until I backed off. Uh oh. Already gave it away didn't I?
By the way, I probably forgot to mention: Severus Snape fought in The Battle of the Labyrinth with us. He disappeared every year and rarely came back during summer. To find him here when I could've sworn I saw his corpse was a little freaky. But apparently he heard about the Titan War and its outcome all the way over here. He was also a son of Hecate
Back to reality.
Albus decided to actually tell me what I should have known before walking in here.
"Percy, Chiron said you can tell the Order about your... father's side. But only as long as they keep their mouths shut. Alright?"
"You couldn't have said that before I put my hand on Snape's mouth?"
"I'm the one who got your hand, Jackson," Snape said.
"Well you didn't get the worst end of it," I retorted, wiping my hand on my pants.
"I'm off," Dumbledore announced. "Good day to you all. Sally, leave whenever just keep the location a secret please."
"Of course, Albus," my mom said. She faced me.
"I've got to go Percy. We already missed your sixteenth birthday. I don't want to miss much more of your life. Please keep in touch."
"You should see what Hera has planned," I muttered under my breath.
"What?" she asked sharply.
"Nothing. Nothing," I answered.
She gave me the stare, said goodbye to everyone, then left. Then they all turned to me.
Great.
Bloody brilliant.
Wonderful. Ten minutes with these people and I'm already British.
"I've got to tell them now, don't I?" I asked Severus under my breath.
"Yep. You pretty much do," he answered hiding back more laughter.
"Shut it," I warned him. He stopped. I smiled inside.
At last someone (I think it was Tonks) finally said, "What did Albus mean 'Chiron said you can tell them'? Tell us what? Who's Chiron?"
I sighed. "You asked for it. How many of you, besides Hermione, know about the Greek Gods?"
I got a few puzzled stares before I relented and let Hermione answer what she could.
"The Greek Gods were mythological figures of Ancient Greece, later used by the Romans. There were 12 main gods with many minor gods as well. There were also several monsters in mythology and tales of the greatest Greek Heros being half-god, or demigods as they preferred."
I interceded before she could carry on.
"Correct except on one thing. You used 'were' as in past tense. It should have been 'are' as in present."
There was a moment of silence before Mad-eye voiced what was on all minds.
"You mean to tell us you are a god?"
"No. Turned that down," I muttered at the end. I continued, "I mean present as in the gods are still around, as are the monsters--please don't say any names!" I hurriedly said before anyone could say something.
"And the demigods as well. I would know because I am a demigod." Snape nodded beside me. "As is Severus. He's a son of Hecate. I'm a son of Poseidon."
There was silence until Ron blurt out, "Prove it!"
"PG or PG-13?" I shot back. "Though I think there really is only a PG-13 version."
"That then. Just prove it."
"Fine! Enjoy yourself. I know I won't."
I got a drachma out of my pocket created mist to all their surprise, and said, "Oh Iris, goddess of the rainbow, accept my offering." I threw the coin in.
I looked at Ron as I said, "Show me my life as a demigod."
I expanded the picture and watched the reactions as the story unwound. They saw it all from my dreams to my claiming to the quests and the war. It seemed like forever before they saw me in front of the Olympian Council, awaiting their verdict the final time. This would show the wizards I wasn't like Voldemort. He wanted immortality. I couldn't stand the thought.
At the end, all was silent. The disbelief had melted leaving behind awe. Or fright. But I had no time to dwell on it. Everyone faced me again except for one of Mad-eye's eyes. The magical one. His face was a different kind of disbelief. Almost as if he was really seeing it happen.
"What is it, Mad-eye?"
Both eyes faced me.
"I think," he began, "those things you just showed us- the demon cheerleaders- are outside."
I closed my eyes and silently groaned. I stood up (I had sat down during the presentation), told everyone to remain indoors, then headed outside.
Sure enough they were there. Another fight. Yay. (Insert sarcasm here)
