His Angel & His Devil Part 2

Warning: Swearing and abuse.

Percy awoke to the sound of the front door slamming shut. He knew it wasn't his mom by the heavy footsteps making their way towards the kitchen.

Percy didn't even realise he was holding his breath until he felt Nico's hand drag across his back, soothing him almost immediately.

"BRAIN BOY!"

Percy flinched, unsure why he still did after all these years.

Just as he went to get up, he felt Nico and Jason's arms tighten around him, effectively stopping him from getting up.

"Guys, please let go. You know it will only be worse if you don't."

Reluctantly, they both let go, allowing Percy to get up and make his way out of the room.

On his way out, he heard Jason say something that sounded like, "I swear that man has no angel."

Percy couldn't stop the little giggle that threatened to make its way out of his mouth.

"What's so funny Brain Boy? Is it that you're about to get beat? That makes me laugh every time."

Percy gulped, looking up to find Gabe stood in the middle of the kitchen.

"What? Nothing to say?"

When Percy didn't say anything, Gabe's eyes flashed and he reached out a hand, gesturing for Percy to come closer.

As soon as he was close enough, Gabe grabbed Percy by the collar of his shirt and raised his fist, laughing when Percy flinched.

"Pathetic."

Percy's head flew back as the fist connected with his jaw, the familiar taste of blood filling his mouth.

"I'm hungry. But do you know what the problem is? You're a fat mess, coming in here and eating all the fucking food. What am I supposed to do, starve?"

Shaking, Percy shook his head, wishing for this to be over already so he could return to Nico and Jason.

The next thing Percy knew he was thrown across the room and his head was hitting the counter top.

"That wasn't the answer I was looking for Brain Boy."

Upon hearing a loud bang come from the kitchen, Nico stood up, ready to go in there until Jason pulled him back down.

"Leave it. If it gets worse then we'll go and stop him."

"Look, I don't care if you're still pissed at him or not but cut the angel bullshit and come and help him."

With that, Nico stood up, pulling his wrist out of Jason's grasp and heading into the kitchen.

Percy gasped as another kick was placed to his ribs, temporarily winding him.

When Nico got to the kitchen, all he saw was red. By the time his vision cleared Gabe was passed out on floor, bloody and bruised.

Nico jolted at the sound of a whimper, looking over and seeing Percy huddled in a ball with his arms wrapped around his middle.

Nico took a few deep breaths, trying to calm himself before making his way over to Percy and lifting him up, carrying him back to his bedroom whilst muttering calming words to him.

When he got there, he found Jason sitting on the bed with the first aid kit open on his lap.

Sighing, Nico gently placed Percy onto the bed, allowing Jason to clean him up.

Once Jason had started, Nico sat down and placed his head in his heads, mad at himself for losing control once again.

Nico looked up when he felt a hand on his thigh, coming face to face with Percy.

The boy looked tired - as he always does - and signalled for Nico to lay down beside him, Jason coming to do the same once he'd put the first aid kit back.

After a while, Percy's quiet snores were heard. Nico smiled, tightening his hold around Percy's waist briefly. With that, Nico too was asleep.

Jason sighed, burying his head in Percy's neck, feeling disappointed in himself and how he reacted to everything earlier. There was no need for him to treat Percy the way he had today.

Eventually, Jason lost the fight against sleep, allowing it to pull him under once more.

Sally sighed as she made her way into the kitchen only to find Gabe unconscious on the floor, face bruised and his fists bloody.

Making her way to Percy's room, Sally quietly opened the door, smiling at the sight before her.

Percy laid asleep on his bed, Nico and Jason either side of him.

Sally felt a tear slide down her cheek at the sight of her son, face bruised and obvious bandages peeking out from under his baggy t-shirt.

Hestia, Sally's own angel, smiled sadly and placed her small hand on Sally cheek, offering all of the comfort she could.

"Don't worry. Your boy's strong. For a boy that is."

Sally laughed softly, appreciating her devils way of cheering her up. She knew her devil didn't like males. It made her oddly happy that her son was the only one she tolerated.

Whether it was due to him saving her life or the fact that she had helped Sally raise him, she didn't know. Either way, she wasn't going to complain.

Smiling, Sally closed the door softly and made her way to her own room, remembering to stay quiet as to not wake any of the others.

"Thank you Artemis."

This one was kinda short but I didn't want to drag it on for too long. The next oneshot should be up soon, I actually started writing it before this one but I decided I wanted this one done first.
