His Angel & His Devil

Warning: Swearing and mentions of abuse. Hints at prostitution and selfharm.

This definitely didn't turn out how I was hoping it would but oh well.

Everyone has those two voices in the back of their minds. Two voices telling them to do two different things.

There's the good voice, determined to do the right thing, keep everyone safe. The angel.

And then there's the bad voice, determined to do the wrong thing, enjoying the danger. The devil.

Everyone has those two voices in the back of their minds. Two voices telling them to do two different things.

Or in this case, everyone has those two voices from either shoulder.

Their angel and their devil.

Percy had never had many friends growing up. Despite the kind words she always told him, he knew his mom was disappointed in him. Hoped it was just a phase.

It wasn't a phase.

Percy has never had any friends.

Except two.

His angel and his devil.

They were what kept him going in life.

When his mom was busy, out finding ways to make more money, they would be their for him.

When Gabe and his buddies were being too loud, they helped calm him down.

When the beatings were really bad, they cleaned him up.

When he couldn't find the energy to get out of bed in the morning, they gave him that energy.

When he was ready to end it all, they reminded him that life was worth living. That better things were to come.

They were there for him no matter what. Helped him when he needed help.

Made him fall in love with them.

He loved them, and he could never tell them.

Because what they were doing was their job.

And he caught feelings.

"Percy?"

"Percy."

"Percy!"

"MR JACKSON!"

Percy nearly fell out of his chair when he finally came out of his daze, flushing brightly when he heard all of the other students in the class start laughing. Nice to know they were all listening to their devils.

Looking to his right, he just about caught the headshake from his angel, obvious disappointment written across his face.

Percy felt tears blur his vision at the thought of disappointing his angel. His Jason.

Jason was supposed to be one of the two people he could never disappoint.

Obviously not.

Looking back towards the front of class, Percy was met with an angry teacher, face cold and eyes hard.

The woman was a bitch.

Percy caught the smirk his devil sent his way, the smirk he always used when he knew exactly what Percy was thinking.

Percy's vision cleared up slightly at that smirk. Nico wasn't disappointed in him. He couldn't handle disappointing him too.

"Mr Jackson, seeing as you've decided that you don't need to pay attention in my class, you can come and collect your extra homework at the end of the lesson."

Percy couldn't even remember what lesson he was in.

He sighed as the sniggering in the room grew louder, even the teacher seemed amused at his pain.

This teacher was a sick and twisted old lady.

Percy could honestly say he hated her with a passion.

He was pretty sure she hated him too.

No, screw that. She definitely hated him.

The last twenty minutes of the lesson passed fairly quickly, Percy zoning in and out once more.

He really did try and stay focused.

For Jason.

By the time the bell had rang and Percy had collected his stupid extra homework, all the corridors were pretty much empty. Percy had been stuck listening to the old hag drone on about 'paying attention' and 'how she was only trying to help him'.

Bullshit.

Pure bullshit.

She hated him, she honestly couldn't care less about whether or not he did well in life.

She just loved seeing him suffer.

She wasn't the only one.

On his way home, Percy listened to Nico rant about how she was such a bitch and that Percy didn't deserve the extra homework, at the same time keeping note of how Jason hadn't said a single word.

He didn't realise he was that mad.

Percy didn't think he was bad.

At least not enough to deserve the silent treatment.

Once he got home, Percy thanked every god that he could think of that Gabe wasn't home.

Honestly, his body could use a rest.

As soon as he got to his room, Percy flopped straight down onto his bed, not even bothering with dinner despite not eating anything that day. He knew there was no food in the apartment anyway.

No point looking for something he's never going to find.

Besides, he's fine with going without food.

As long as his mom gets to eat, he's alright.

Sighing with relief, Percy let his muscles relax, happy to be back in his bed for now.

Checking the time, Percy wasn't surprised to see that it was already five. He already lived far enough away from school, but that stupid little speech he'd had to listen to had slowed him down even more.

Three hours before he had to leave for work.

Percy jumped slightly as he heard Jason's voice near his ear, obvious anger in his tone.

"You're not going back there anymore."

Percy yawned, realising he didn't get any sleep before work last night.

"Have to."

"No you don't. You're not going back there. I'm not allowing it."

Percy sighed, feeling the tears build up in his eyes.

He wanted to cry.

He wanted Gabe to leave.

He wanted his mom to be proud of him.

He wanted Nico and Jason to love him.

He knew he was asking for a lot but surely he could have at least one of those things in his life. Right?

It didn't even have to be right now. It could happen in a few years, he just wanted at least one of them to happen.

Percy sniffled, turning to hide his face in his pillow.

He didn't want to return. He really didn't.

But it was his job.

He had to help his mom out in some way, this was the only way he could.

He knew it wasn't legal.

Knew he was too young and that a lot of people could be put away - including his mom - if someone found out how he was making his money.

He felt dirty everytime he even thought about it.

He'd sit by the toilet when he returned in the morning, throwing up what little food he'd consumed days before.

Wash his mouth out so many times that the smell of spearmint toothpaste seemed to follow him around everywhere.

He'd get in the shower and scrub his skin until it felt raw.

He'd ignore the urge to bring out the comforting metal once more.

He'd cry.

He'd cry until he physically couldn't anymore.

He'd place the smile back on his face.

He'd turn it up whenever it was slipping.

But no one ever looked close enough to see it slip.

"Perce."

"Come on, please look at me."

Sniffling, Percy turned to look at Nico, now life-sized, sat crossed-legged next to Jason who was also in his human form by now.

They both still had their wings however.

Jason's wings were such a delicate white that he was always scared of dirtying them with his filth. They were always so soft and warm. He loved when Jason would wrap them around him when they cuddled. Who needs a blanket when you have angel wings?

Nico's wings were honestly so cool. Such a dark leathery colour that went so well with his dark eyes. He liked to just stare at them, he knew it was weird but they were just so cool.

Percy blinked confused as he felt a pair of strong arms wrap around him.

Recognising the scent of pomegranates, Percy immediately buried his head into their chest, loving the contact that was so rare from Nico.

Sitting like this, with Nico's arms wrapped around him and his scent overwhelming him, Percy couldn't help but cry, his muffled sobs filling the whole room.

"Don't wanna go back. Please. No more. I don't like it there. Please."

Jason had moved closer now, wrapping his arms around the both of them and trying to help Nico calm him down.

"P-please."

Percy's sobs were absolutely heartwreching, he was finally letting it all out.

Nico's hand had found it's way into Percy's hair, gently carding his fingers through the slight curls.

Jason had taken one of Percy's hands into his, stroking over the boy's palm the way he knew helped him calm down.

"No more. Please."

"Shh Perce, you don't have to go back. You're safe. Shhh. Calm down, yeah? You're not going back there ever again. No more, I promise."

Percy's breathing had evened out and despite the tears still running down his face, his sobs had stopped.

"Thank you."

"There's no need to thank us Perce."

As he said it, Percy turned to look at Jason, sad green eyes meeting apologetic blue ones.

Percy smiled at Jason, hoping he wasn't still mad at him.

Jason smiled back, small and tight-lipped.

Percy sighed, turning to nuzzle his head into Nico's chest, already missing his warmth.

Nico continued to card his things through Percy's hair, something they both found relaxing.

After a while, Percy yawned, the lack of sleep and exhaustion from crying not going well together.

Nico smiled, moving them so they were lying down with the blanket over them.

Sighing, Jason moved to lie behind Percy, wrapping his arms around his waist.

"I'm not mad at you. I'm just disappointed, I know you struggle staying focused but you could at least try yeah? For me?"

Percy was struggling to keep his eyes open by now. He hadn't had a proper sleep for months.

"But I do try. You just don't see it."

Jason leaned up to kiss the back of Percy's head. The boy really needed to sleep and at this rate he wouldn't get any.

"Go to sleep yeah?"

"Night Perce."

"Night guys... love yous."

It took a while for Percy to realise what he'd just said. His words had been slurred and his brain just wouldn't compute.

All of a sudden, Percy was awake. As soon as he realised what he said, he'd shot up out of bed and ran to the corner of the room, sitting down on the floor once he got there.

Jason and Nico turned to look at each other, both with shocked expressions on their faces. Turning to look at Percy, they found him backed up against the wall with his knees to his chest and his head in his hands.

Sighing, Jason got up and made his way over to Percy, Nico not far behind.

Once they reached him, they both sat down on the floor in front of him.

"Perce. Look at us."

All they got was a head shake in response.

"Please."

No response this time.

"Look at us. Please. We're not mad."

Slowly, Percy lifted his head up to look at them, hoping they really weren't mad.

Smiling, Jason reached out a hand and placed it on Percy's cheek, waiting for Percy to react.

Subconsciously, Percy leaned into the hand on his cheek, not paying attention to anything but his angel and his devil.

"Percy, we've known you your whole life. We've known for years."

"B-bu-"

He wasn't able to finish as cold lips met his.

Percy savoured the kiss, not really believing that this was true. Maybe he'd finally passed out from exhaustion.

Percy blinked confused as the cold sensation against his lips was replaced with a much warmer one.

Soon enough, those lips were gone too and he was left panting and blushing.

"As Jason said, we've known you your whole life, we had time to fall in love with you too. Besides, how could anyone resist you?"

Percy shrugged, working hard to fight the shiver that threatened to go down his spine at those familiar words.

Resist you.

Ravish you.

Break you.

They can never resist him.

They ravish him.

They break him.

Percy blinked as he felt lips on his once more, dragging him back to the present.

"We said you're not going back there. We won't let you."

Percy just nodded, unable to do much more than that.

He was busy trying to figure out when they'd hid their wings.

This is why Jason was always so disappointed in him.

Percy didn't realise that he was being picked up until he felt the familiar sheets.

He'd been too out of it to realise that they had picked him up and carried him to bed.

As soon as his head hit the pillow he was gone, his tired brain not registering the two bodies that got into bed on either side of him or the chaste kisses that were placed on his forehead.
