I nervously shuffled into the waiting room, Travis by my side. I signed myself in and sighed. Today is that special day a kid with messed up teeth dreads. Travis patted me on the back pretty hard.
"You don't get many girlfriends do you?" I asked him. He smirked.
"Well, I got you," he replied. He leaned into kiss me, but that would be weird in front of everyone. I remember when I was a kid and a couple would make out. I would be like, "Eww!" I know that one kid is in here. I rejected Travis' kiss, and he slumped back in his chair.
"Katie Gardener," an assistant called. I walked up. Well, it was 8:00 in the morning. I was pretty tired. Gods, what if this goes all wrong? The nurse directed me away from the usual chairs for appointments. I went into this private room with only one reclining chair. My orthodontist put on his latex purple gloves. I sighed again.
"You ready?" he asked me. He smiled.
I got in the chair and replied, "Ready as I'll ever be." The chair slowly started to recline. I pushed all the dear away from me. I can't be put under stress because I don't want to risk another azalea patch showing up somewhere. He then started.

About 2 hours later, my mouth was aching already. I had just gotten done getting my *cough* braces on. I walked back to the waiting room. Travis was there, sleeping. I sat down next to him and tapped him on the shoulder.
"Travis!" I loudly whispered. He shook awake.
"Wha?" I smiled. He then came back to reality. He observed my new braces. He then groaned.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"How am I going to kiss a girl with braces?"
I playfully punched him on the shoulder. "Dr. Hugh said it will only be a year till I get them off. I'm so happy for that, at least," I explained. I went up to the main desk, payed, and scheduled my next appointment. We were about to leave when a nurse assistant screamed. Travis stifled a laugh. I glared at him.
"I thought you were asleep!" I shouted.
"Not for two hours, silly," he grinned. The nurse walked out covered in goo. I stared at her in horror.
"What the Hecate, Travis? Why'd you do that?" I asked. I then touched my new braces. Ouch. They hurt.
"She wouldn't let me chew gum."
"You're impossible." After many paper towels and some pleading for mercy, we left. Argus lead us back to the camp. Before we entered, Travis said something pretty shocking, coming from him.
"Hey Katie. Sorry about the incident today. I was totally not cool," he apologized. Wow. That was a surprise.
"It's ok."
"I'm serious. I shouldn't have said that I couldn't kiss you with braces," Travis added. I frowned. I started to walk to the camp borders. He started to catch up with me.
"Why are you leaving? What did I do?" he asked.
"Like I said, you're impossible," I replied.
He grinned. "Don't forget the theme song. Duh duh duh duh, duh duh duh duh, duh duh duh, duh duh duh, duh duh duh, duh, duh."
"Seriously, Mission Impossible? Your crazy," I replied.
"Yeperoni." I managed to give him a small smile and headed up the hill.
