Chapter 4: A King's Return Pt. 1

Annabeth walked through a battlefield. The stench of blood and sweat permeating the air. She then gasped, her eyes landing on a survivor. But something was strange with the survivor. Somehow, Annabeth doesn't know how, but she knew that the survivor, while appearing like a boy, was actually a woman. Her hair was golden blonde and in a bun. Her eyes reminded Annabeth of Percy's eyes before his transformation, but not as bright. The woman was wearing shining armor with an old styled dress underneath it. In her hand was a sword, though she couldn't see what the sword looked like, Annabeth knew that it was important. The woman then lifted up her right hand to the sky and peered at the sun between her fingers.

Dream End

Annabeth woke up breathing hard. As her heart began to slow, the daughter of Athena placed her hand on her forehead and looked at a clock on the small desk to her left. 3:30 AM it read.

"W-What was that?" Annabeth asked herself. "Who was that? That, that woman looked like me..."

Annabeth shook her head and got up before heading to the shower. She turned on the water and waited as it warmed up, she gazed into the mirror before turning to the shower and getting undressed, shivering when the cool air hit her bare skin and entered the shower.

Not too long later, Annabeth stepped out and, after wrapping a towel around her body, walked out of the bathroom, but not before taking a look at the covered mirror and seeing an outline of someone different moved towards the mirror and wiping her hand across the service before back away in shock as she sees the woman from her dream in place of herself.

Then, the image was replaced with her own. The familiar piercing grey eyes stared back at her. Annabeth stared at her reflection a little while longer, before walking out of the bathroom and getting dressed once more.

1st Floor

Walking into the breakfast room, she saw Percy looking out of a window, his arms crossed over his muscular chest wearing black armor, pants and steel toed boots. The only thing missing was the red coat. Annabeth didn't know how to talk to the 'new' Percy. So instead Annabeth walked over to the buffet that was on the other side of the room and got her breakfast.

"Good morning Annabeth," Percy said at last.

"Good morning Percy," Annabeth replied before taking a bite of her food. "Did you have a goodnight's rest?"

Percy was silent for a moment, before he turned around to face the daughter of Athena.

"Yes, but it is too quiet," he told her. "We got a full night's rest and that worries me. Why would Kronos want us to be fully rested for today's battle?"

"That is a good question Archer."

"Hello Caster," Percy stated. "Did you manage to get into contact with your fellow Romans?"

"Yes I did," Piper replied as she walked towards the buffet, before sitting down at the table Annabeth was at.

"And?"

"And due to my coming here, I am no longer welcome in New Rome," Piper said. "Well, according to Octavian at least."

Percy raised an eyebrow at the amount of hatred in that name.

"You don't like him do you?" he asked the daughter of Venus.

"That's an understatement," Piper said. "I hate the guy. If I could, I'd turn him to ash with a magic blast."

"He must be bad if you want to turn him into ash with a blast of magic," Percy stated somewhat amused and somewhat worried about how the man would react to seeing Greeks.

Annabeth, seeing that the subject needed to be changed, asked, "Do you guys know who the other servants are?"

Percy frowned, as did Piper.

"We know that Thalia might be one of them, Lancer to be exact, but as for Assassin, Berserker, Rider and..." Percy hesitated for a moment. "And Saber. We have no idea."

"Do you have history with Saber, Percy?" Annabeth asked her best friend (don't tell Thalia).

Percy turned around, his steel grey-sea green eyes looking at the street. The two women in the room could see his reflection and saw a look of melancholy.

"Saber, or Arturia, was one of the two women I fell in love with in my past life," Percy said with a sigh. "The other woman I fell in love with was Rin Tohsaka. The Master of Archer aka the Heroic Spirit EMIYA but you guys know him as Counter-Guardian EMIYA."

Annabeth's eyes widened as did Piper's, but before they could say a word, everyone else slowly began to enter the eating area getting Percy to sigh in relief.

Kronos' army encampment

A tall slim, built man walked between tents full of Demigods to the outer ring of the encampment when he stopped and said, "Assassin, I know you're there."

"Very good Avenger," Assassin stated. "Very good indeed. What have you learned?"

"Very little, Assassin," Avenger replied, his lone eye narrowed. "Kronos does trust me, but it might not be for much longer. I believe that he suspects that I do not truly support him in his endeavors. When I find out who the others are, I will leave the city and go to Alaska."

Assassin nodded.

"Good," Assassin said. "My sister is waiting there as we speak. You have three days to find out who the Saber and Lancer are. If you don't find out, you will die by Berserker's hand. Do not fail us, Ethan Nakamura."

Assassin then vanished, leaving Avenger alone.

"Damned Assassin," Ethan Nakamura muttered before walking back to the encampment.

Manhattan

Annabeth was preparing for another attack when Percy appeared in front of her.

"Monsters are closing in fast," he told the daughter of Athena. "Gather everyone you can. I'll be sniping from buildings, while Caster will be with you all using healing spells and combat spells. Keep her from getting hurt and we may survive a little longer."

"Thanks Percy," Annabeth replied calmly. "Lets go win us another battle."

Percy smirked before vanishing from the room.
