Ancient Greece

A young teen around 15 years old with dark black hair and charcoal eyes wearing a white-colored chiton was crying under a giant olive tree when a woman's shadow fell over her.

"Why are you crying child?" the woman asked softly. The teen jumped into the woman's arms and held onto the woman's silver-colored chiton tightly. The woman began to comfort the young girl and when the child was done weeping, she told the woman, "I was banished from my home. B-Because I helped a hero get something from the garden."

"Who was this hero, young one?" the woman asked, her voice holding an edge to it that the young teen couldn't hear.

"H-Herakles," the teen told her. "The son of Zeus."

'Herakles shall suffer for this,' the woman thought, her eyes talking on a silver glow.

The woman never thought that she'd be this protective of a young maiden. She would have to ask her mother about this feeling she was having. This protectiveness she holds towards the teen in her arms.

"What's your name child?" the woman asked as her fingers ran through the girl's hair.

"Z-Zoe," the teen said weakly as if she was afraid to be abandoned again.

"It is nice to meet you, Zoe," the woman said as a silver glow encompassed the two of them. "I am Artemis, the goddess of the Hunt, Moon, and Childbirth."

Zoe's eyes widened and she stiffened as the woman's name hit her like a brick to the head. She wept in the arms of a goddess. And not just any goddess, it was Artemis herself.

"L-Lady A-Artemis," Zoe stammered, sniffling a little her eyes red from crying so much. "I-I'm sorry. I-I didn't-"

"Peace Zoe," Artemis said, smiling softly her silver eyes were soft as she gazed at the teen in front of her. "It's quite alright."

Artemis held out her hand and Zoe Nightshade tentatively took hold of the goddess's hand. Unknown to them, this simple action sent out a ripple effect that would change the entire world.
