Being Popular

          Third Person POV

They all walked in together. Gossip around the school spread. People laughed, stared, and even tried making friends with Crystal. Some have read the school paper, some have heard how the gods have come to her party. Some even knew she slapped the goddess Aphrodite and the goddess forgave her. Unlikely, but also gave her a gift.
People crowded Crystal separating her from her family. People shouted at her, complimented her, just stared.
          "Lovely outfit!" One said.
"Pleeeeeaaaaaseeee, having gods over is not that great." They mocked.
"I bet it was Percy who brought them." Another said.
Crystal stood wide eyed. She shivered from all different emotions she's facing. She didn't move until the crowd started pulling her to all directions like a fan club. She was getting furious. All these unfamiliar hands touching her, pulling her hoping to be their friend.
"Stop!!!" She yelled. Energy flowed out from her. Only one voice entered her mind.
Hestia's voice, you'll need it soon. She figured it was the blessing of the hearth.
She crumpled to the ground sobbing. "Stop, please just stop."
People parted from her as the demigods rushed in. All principals rushed too.
"What happened?" Ms. Jones, first floor principal, asked. Other principals nodded in agreement to this question.
Crystal continued crying. "I just had the gods in my party and all of them start targeting me. Making friends, pranking. I just am not used too this."
All the principals came to a silent conversation. They nodded.
"Well, we will make sure all of you has punishment. Though, how is it possible that the gods came?" They asked.
Crystal couldn't handle the pressure. She just sat quietly while waiting for something to happen.
Before she spoke, Percy started. "That's because my dad is friends with the gods. He invited all of them. Most of the time, Aphrodite visits him. Though he does not succumb to her."
Ewww, why pair me up with uncle Poseidon? That is disgusting! I totally disagree! Aphrodite said in his head.
"Shut up!" Percy didn't notice he said that out loud. Everyone stared at him. "Sorry, my head has a lot of voices left from yesterdays party."
The principals recovered. "Um, okay. All students please follow me. All levels. We will judge if we will give the punishment to you. Percy, you and your friends may get to class. The rest, meet me at the gym in five minutes." Ms. Higgins, the fourth floor principal, said sternly.

          Hazel's POV

We all separated ways. Frank and I went to our classroom together. Nico and Crystal went to theirs together. We had high expectations that the classrooms were empty, but as it turns out, we found someone inside. A mocha skin colored boy, like me, at the age of somehow fifteen. His hair was all curly like an afro, but not extremely curly. He sat in the front of the class reading his textbook, or was it a different language book I could never read.
As we entered, the boy turned his head towards us. He quickly stood up. "Hi! Names Carter Kane." He held out his hand. Frank and I shook his hand in turn. "You must be new, I haven't seen your faces around. Transfer?"
"Um, yes. I'm Hazel L-Valtry. This is Frank Chua." I said.
"Hmmm, Hazel and Frank. I know I heard those names."
          I gulped.
"Oh yeah!" He popped, "Hazel Levesque and Frank Zhang. Just a coincidence." I started getting nervous. "Part of the seven demigods. Can't believe they exist." His mouth suddenly closed as if he kept something. His face suddenly melted when his phone rang.
"Excuse me." Carter answered the phone. "Sadie, what is it? Are you being bullied by the seventh graders again?....................................... No! I will not get you stuff in the duat....................................... Yes, yes, but I too have company. Figure it out yourself." Then he ended his call. He turned to us. "Sorry, my little sis is in seventh grade. She forgot to get her stuff for school."
          "Forgiven." I said.
The bell rang and only a teacher came. "Hmmm, I wonder, where are the other kids?"
"Miss, apparently, there was a commotion downstairs. Everyone involved got a punishment." Frank clarified. The teacher walked out.
"I will be back once all students are here." She scooted away.
Carter looked at us. "Really? The whole class? How come you two weren't involved?"
"Because, the one hurt is my cousin. My half-brother is watching over for her. And Frank was just beside me." I said.
The door burst open and Crystal came in. "Hazel! Do you have my backpack?" I nodded and gave her a My Little Pony backpack. "Ugh! I am so gonna slap her once more!" Frank and I laughed when she mentioned this. "What's so funny?"
"I thought our big cousin will take away all your make-up when you do that?" Carter stared at us. I realized that I haven't introduced her yet. "Oh, sorry, this is my cousin, Crystal."
Crystal and Carter stared at each other. "I never knew you had a family." Carter said.
          "Kane?"
"Wait, you know each other?" Frank asked. They ran to each other and gave each other a bear hug. "How?"
          (No offense, Frank)
"Did I mention I went to a lot of places? I somehow met him." Crystal said.
Carter spoke in another language I couldn't understand.
          "That's not important." She said.
Carter spoke again in the same language. Crystal stiffened.
"I'll explain later. Lunch table, bring Sadie."
"Okay," he spoke in English then started speaking in the other language.
"I was more easy on Filipino and Greek. Hazel, Frank, and I are in Greek together. I wasn't ready for that. You know it yourself. Remember? I was supposed to say 'Good day' instead I said 'You fat' to Sadie. She punched me in the face."
          "Greek?"
"Native tongue." She pointed at her tongue then at us. "Hazel chose Greek and Latin. Frank chose Greek and French."
"Chinese." Frank corrected. "My mother's side."
"Oh, I see." Carter said as Nico entered. Carter's eyes widened. He rubbed them about ten times when Nico stood beside me. Crystal was looking all nervous. Her highlights started changing to transparent. I knew we can't show mortals she had powers. Carter's eyes left us as he stared at Crystal's hair. "Your hair has been cut off like magic."
Crystal panicked. "Um, lunch, I'll see you." She stared at the ceiling. "Um, cuz', if you don't change my bag now, I will personally slap you no matter what happens next to me." Crystal's bag shimmered. The designs faded away immediately.
"Much better. Thanks!" She looked back at Carter. "Lunch?"
He nodded. Crystal turned to us.
"Meet you guys at lunch. Befriend him. He is my friend."  Crystal said in Greek. She started towards the door with Nico. "I'll explain everything later. Don't ask him yet. After I explain, that's when you can ask. And if he asks, don't answer anything about my personal life. Got it? Promise on Styx lay off him."
"Okay! We promise on Styx. "Frank and I said together. I looked at Carter who looked at us weirdly.
"Um, Carter, that was my half-brother, Nico."
Crystal reappeared. "Oh, and Carter, lay off. No questions. Explanation later lunch. I promise on Styx. Meet you guys later!" Then she ran off.
          "Styx?"
