The Last Strike

Tiger grinned, "Just like old times!" Loki smiled back, "Except for the fact that we die when we kill the beast." Tiger seemed surprised. Speedy laughed, "You didn't know?" Tiger grinned, "Well, whoever kills him dies." Beast put down his club, "I... Get... Last... Strike..." Loki smiled, "Not with that speed you won't!" He shot forward and flipped over the creature. His sword left a gash in Its shoulder. "Annoying bugs!" Loki grinned, "Same goes for you you emotionless Craft!" It froze, "What'd you call me?" Loki looked at it, "You're a Craft! Or did you not know even that?"

The Craft growled, "I'm a living creature, I'm no Craft!" "You're nothing other than a toy!" It waved It's arms wildly, "I AM NOT A TOY!" Loki dodged each blow, making sure his sword stung each time the creature's arms swung. "Oh no you don't!" Tiger shot forward, "The last hit is mine!" Bear grabbed her sword and slammed his club onto the Creature of Chaos. Loki gritted his teeth, no, the last strike was supposed to be mine!

The club missed, and Bear clicked his tongue. Tiger frowned, "No!" Speedy grinned, his rapier pierced through the creature's chest. "Look who got the last strike." Loki turned away, "It was nice knowing you Speedy." Speedy grinned, "I'll see you in the afterlife." Tears rolled down Bear's cheeks, "We just got back together..." Tiger punched him lightly, "Stop crying you big baby." Tiger rubbed her eyes, "It's not like we won't see him soon." Speedy looked at Loki, "You go and beat Chaos, you got that?" Loki nodded, "You don't need to worry about that." Speedy looked to Tiger, "It was nice to see you again Tiger." Her orange hair hung over her eyes, and then she ran forward. "Speedy!" She hugged him as he fell to the ground, lifeless as a doll.

The three of them walked forward, Tiger holding Speedy in her arms. "Tiger, you want me to-" She shook her head. Loki sighed, "I thought you said that we'd see him soon. Why'd you have to bring his body with us?" Tiger narrowed her eyes, "I see that you're just as respectful and annoying as always." Loki grinned, "He's just gonna slow us down." "I'LL CARRY HIM!" Loki stepped away, "Fine, jeez." Tears rolled down Tiger's cheeks, "You have no idea do you? You're as ignorant as always, aren't you!?" Loki frowned, "Hey! Back off! We're all gonna see him soon anyway, so just-" "WE'RE NOT! NOT ALL OF US ARE GOING TO MAKE IT!" Loki's eyes widened, "What do you mean?" Tiger turned away, "How many Creatures of Chaos have died?" Loki put his fingers together, "Discord, Anarchy, Mayhem, and that one back there. Why?" Tiger looked at him, "LOKI! SEVEN OF THEM ARE DEAD!" Loki's eyes widened, "That means..." Tiger nodded. Not all of them were going to die. Not all of them were going to the afterlife. Some of them were going to live here forever. I might not be able to see Blue again... "NOT YOU!"

Loki's eyes widened. "You're one of the chosen ones! You get to go up there! You get to see Speedy again!" Loki felt relieved, and he hated himself for it. Only five more of them could die. It was weird, but that's what they hungered for. To die. For this nightmare, also known as their lives, to end. He hung his head, "I'm sorry Tiger." Tiger closed her eyes, "I'm sorry Loki. It's not your fault." Loki clenched his fists, "But I don't want to die. I don't want to leave you behind." Tiger's eyes widened. "Lo-ki?" Loki nodded, "I'll find a way."

It was a weird goal, but they wanted to die. Living forever wasn't all that it was cracked up to be. It was hateful. You see the world come and go. People you love live and die. Your heart breaks after seeing that over, and over, and over again. Your family and first friends were the first to go. Then you lose new friends, over and over and over again. Percival, at least, gave them a family, so that they wouldn't be alone. However, now, they just wanted to end it now. It was time to end this game.

. . .

Star grinned, though it was an illusion. It felt like she was really there. It really looked like her face. "Was it painful?" Lily tilted her head, "What?" Star frowned, "Being alone." Lily looked away, "It was... When I was alone." Star looked at her for more answers, she didn't know if they were true or not, but she would be able to ask her for clarification soon enough. "Were you alone? In the end?" Lily smiled, "The truth is..."

Star blocked the blow from the monster with her hammer. "You are positively the weakest of them all." Star frowned and she blocked another blow from the monster, "You're probably right." She went in between It's legs. Her long, Rapunzel-like hair following her. He made the mistake of stepping on that hair. "However, I would appreciate it if you didn't touch my hair."

Lily combed her fingers through Star's long hair. "It's so beautiful." Star smiled, "What are you going to do to it this time?" Lily put her finger on her chin to think, "I think, I'm going to braid it." Star smiled, "You're the only one that gets to touch my hair Lily." Lily grinned, "Thanks big sis."

Star slammed her hammer into the face of the beast, and it flew to the right. Star grinned, "Nobody touches my hair." The creature smiled, "That was a weapon of Percival? That barely felt like anything!" Star gripped her hammer even harder and shot towards the beast. She threw a volley of smashes with her hammer, but it didn't seem to break through. "Weak! Without your powerful friends you're a weakling!" She smiled, "Now now, I trained under the Knight of Judgement!" Her hammer glowed, and suddenly it grew, not just the hammer, but the hilt lengthened so that she held it with two hands. "I'm gonna smash you like a pancake!"

"The truth is... That we're never alone."

Star slammed her hammer onto the beast once more, suddenly, the earth below it began to crack. A small crater was forming. "I may be the weakest of them all, but that's why I don't fight on my own." Star smiled as the energy flowed into her hammer. "I've got all of them right behind me!" The creature's eyes widened as he felt the power of all the other knights in her strike. "You can summon their powers into your weapon? That wasn't in the bingo book..." Star grinned, she would be seeing Percival soon. She would be seeing Blue again. She would be seeing Genesis again. She would be seeing her sister again. "I'm coming home!"
