Chapter Nineteen:
Annabeth's POV
It was the middle of the night, but Annabeth couldn't sleep. She had woken up when she heard baby Caleo crying in the room next door, and now her thoughts were keeping her from drifting off.
As a mother-to-be, she couldn't help but worry about her unborn child. What responsibilities would be placed upon her baby as a goddess? Had they done everything right with Eirene's power? How were they supposed to give it to her? Annabeth remembered what had happened to her when she took in the goddess' power; she had passed out and stayed in a coma for weeks. She couldn't let that happen to her baby girl.
She could still hear Caleo crying, so, with Percy was sound asleep, she slid out of bed. She ran a brush quickly through her hair, pulled on a robe and exited the bedroom, shutting the door softly behind her.
She didn't really want to barge right in to Leo and Calypso's bedroom, so she was relieved when she realized that the sound of Caleo's crying had moved to the spare bedroom. Opening the door quietly and slowly so as not to startle mother or baby, she entered the room.
"Hi," Annabeth greeted awkardly. "I couldn't sleep."
"For some reason," Calypso replied, rocking her baby back and forth in her arms,"neither can I!"
"For some reason," Annabeth grinned. "I just wanted to say... no hard feelings about Percy and whatever. I realize that I probably seemed a little cold when we first met, but I can see now that you really like Leo. Plus... I wouldn't mind having a friend who knows a thing or two about what I'm going through."
"Thanks," Calypso replied gratefully. "I know it must be a little... well, more than a little awkward for you, but, well... like you said, I really like Leo. And once I get the hang of this, I'd be happy to share a few parenting tips."
"That'd be great," Annabeth agreed.
The two talked for another hour or so about their pregnancies, children, etc. Annabeth told the whole story of how her and Percy had had to find Eirene and take her power, and she even confessed how Percy had gone and jumped in a lake when he first found out the news of her pregnancy.
Annabeth was about to get up and leave the room when one more question crossed her mind. "What exactly is Caleo? I mean, is he a mortal, or a demigod, or..."
"I'm not exactly sure," Calypso admitted, twirling her hair thoughtfully. "I'm immortal... But I'm not exactly a goddess. He's obviously got some of Leo's powers, so, probably something like a demigod. I have the ability to make people immortal, though it's not exactly the same as being a god, so... Perhaps they would be willing to do us another favor."
"Hopefully," Annabeth replied and said goodnight to Calypso.
Annabeth went back to bed when Caleo finally grew quiet, and, in a much better mood than before, she fell asleep.

"Did someone else sit in this spot before?" Calypso asked as they all sat down at dinner one night. "Leo, didn't you mention someone else? Another child of Hades?"
"Nico," Hazel muttered, looking down.
Annabeth realized that they hadn't told her yet. It didn't really matter, though, as Calypso had never known him.
"Is he okay?" Calypso asked in alarm.
"Oh, yeah, he's fine," Hazel assured her. "It's just... he moved in with his girlfriend, and he's the first one, hopefully the only one, to leave the group. It just kind of hurt."
"I'm so sorry," Calypso sympathized.
Hazel shrugged. "It's his life. It's not my decision to make."
Annabeth knew that it really bothered her, though, and it made sense. Nico was the closest thing Hazel had to a living relative, and the only one at that. At least he had finally found someone.

{A/N: I'm skipping some time here, by now Annabeth is 4 months pregnant/they have one month left until they go to become Gods}
"And you may kiss the bride," Chiron, who was acting as priest for Calypso and Leo's small wedding announced.
Leo gently pulled Calypso towards him and they kissed their first kiss as a married couple.
Annabeth was standing up front with baby Caleo in her arms. He had been the "flower boy," but considering he was only two months old, he couldn't exactly walk yet. Annabeth was also a bridesmaid, so she had walked Caleo down the isle and then went to join the other bridesmaids.
Annabeth, Hazel and Piper were in short, summery blue dresses while Percy, Frank and Jason stood on the other side of the couple in suits. Thalia had lead Artemis' hunters to the wedding to watch, even though she seemed pretty uncomfortable for some reason. Rachel and Nico made up the rest of the audience, as Leo thought they should come but Calypso had never met them. Oh, and there was the fact that Nico flat out refused to take part in a wedding that wasn't his own; he was more of a funeral guy.
Calypso was wearing a long, white, one-shouldered, Ancient-Greek style dress that Leo said was just like the one she had worn when they first met. Her hair was braided down one side, with a gold band placed around her head topped it off. She looked just like an Ancient Greek goddess (they didn't dress that way anymore).
Everyone cheered and whistled and clapped, enjoying the moment with Calypso and Leo. Annabeth couldn't help but remember the amazing moment when she had been the beautiful bride standing up front, surrounded by her friends, as she kissed her own groom. Her wonderful Percy.
Calypso had told her that she and Leo were going to New York City for their honeymoon. Annabeth didn't think it was the most romantic destination she could have chosen, but she understood that Calypso had had more than her share of warm, tropical islands.

Annabeth was lying in bed, thinking. They only had two more weeks until they were scheduled to go up to Olympus. Annabeth didn't know wether she should be nervous or not. Part of her was excited to feel the power of being a goddess, to know her baby would always be safe safe, to never worry again about fighting off a monster.
But part of her wasn't. For one thing, she didn't know what she would become the goddess of. Would it be something that she could be proud of?
Plus, although she knew it made no sense, she couldn't help but feel like she might miss being a mortal. She would miss her days spent on quests with Percy, the way that she had to use her wisdom to solve her problems, even the taste of mortal food.
Lastly, she was scared that she would eventually become like the other gods: arrogant, ignorant, full of drama, family-issues and constantly giving birth to demigods. She couldn't imagine betraying Percy like that, but she knew that could change within the next ten thousand years or so. She hoped she was wrong.
"Perce?" she whispered suddenly, hoping he was still awake.
"Yeah?" he replied groggily.
"We should plan a vacation. Just you and me, you know, before the powers and the baby and all of that come along."
She couldn't see him in the dark, but Annabeth could almost see him grinning that adorable grin.
"I'm afraid that won't be possible-"Annabeth frowned, confused, "-because I already planned it."
"Oh my gods! Where to?" Annabeth asked, all worries forgotten.
"That," he said, rolling over to face her and kissing her gently on the lips, "is a surprise."
"No fair," Annabeth replied, but she was smiling as she pulled him closer and buried her head in the warm folds of his t-shirt.

"You bought an island?!" Annabeth exclaimed. Percy blushed furiously.
They had spent the last hour splashing through the Atlantic on the back of Rainbow the hippocampus, a long lost friend that Annabeth had almost forgotten about. Her tennis shoes were soaked, her clothes speckled with water, but it didn't matter. She hadn't realized how much she missed being alone with Percy until today.
They packed quickly in the morning, Percy giving her just enough hints so that she had a brief idea of what to pack but still no clue as to where they were going. Then they had ate a quick breakfast, said goodbye to the others (who didn't know they were leaving until then) and flew on Percy's pegasus Black Jack to the Atlantic shore, where Rainbow was waiting for them.
On the way, they talked and laughed and sang and talked some more. Splashing through the water in the sunlight, Percy's hands secured around her stomach, cool water spraying in her face as she laughed her heart out, she couldn't help but feel foolish for all the worrying she had done the night before. She would never leave Percy, and Percy would never leave her.
"Um, yeah," he replied to Annabeth's exclamation.
"How the Hades did you get enough money?"
"Chiron's paying me more for the sword fighting job than I may have let on," he looked at her hesitantly, as though he was afraid she might be angry. She silently comforted him with a quick kiss on the lips as he helped her down from the creature. She patted it on the head before it swam off. Percy grabbed her hand and she kicked off her shoes and socks, closing her eyes with the luxurious feeling of her bare toes in the sand.
"What's it called?" Annabeth asked.
"Serenity," Percy replied.
"That's beauitful," Annabeth said dreamily. "Did you think of it?" she looked at her husband, not knowing him to be the eloquent, creative type.
"Piper might've helped," he blushed again, but Annabeth shrugged. She still loved the name.
"Serenity," she repeated again, and then she had a sudden intake of breath. "Oh my gods Percy, that's it!" she exclaimed.
"What? Are you okay? Is the baby- Are you having-" Percy looked at her anxiously.
"I'm not having the baby, Seaweed Brain," she laughed. Percy breathed a visible sigh of relief. "I just thought... Serenity, it means peace, and it's beautiful, and our daughter is going to be a beautiful Goddess of Peace. I think I've found a name for our baby girl." She looked up to Percy for confirmation.
"It's perfect," he whispered. And then, with a romantic smile, "just like you."
And so they walked slowly around the island, enjoying the present, barefoot in the sand. They lay down next to each other as they watched the sunset, and Percy showed her the little cabin he had had built for the two of them once it got dark.
It was perfect.

[Quick cut to NICO'S POV]
Nico and Rachel were sitting next to the lake at Camp Demigod, long after the sunset. They were covering every topic they could think of, until Rachel went rigid.
A prophecy.
Nico's arm shot out to catch her before she fell back as her eyes began to glow green.
"After many months of rest
We will be put to a final test
Eternal life, we do seek
And it will be granted in double a week
The wise must outsmart her greatest fear
The pretty shall save the one she holds dear
The lightning will rescue a city from his own
The water will find his love in the sea foam
The dead shall rise for two of their young
The flame must save his wife and his son
The shifter will change through many a figure
And the prophet shall all of these tests configure."
With that, she drew in one long, rattling breath and collapsed into into Nico's arms.
***I'm sorry it's so short, but that's just how I write. As you can imagine, there will be plenty excitement to come."
