oneshot #32: a forever promise
Annabeth never got sick of Percy’s kisses.
Whether they were short and sweet, slow or gentle, inside an air bubble, or right before jumping into a battle, he always managed to find the perfect moments.
She never got used to the loving look he gave her almost every time he looked at her. She rarely received that look from anyone besides him, and it melted her heart each time.
The way he played with her hair and brushed his lips across her forehead, the way he hugged her for no specific reason and insisted on eating blue food made him her summer on a winter day.
He never failed to cheer her up on a dreary day, or comfort her on a sad one. And with him, she had less of those days.
She knew him better than she knew the back of her hand, and vice versa. He admittedly made her so much happier, ever since their first quest.
Being with him was just a given, something they knew was going to be forever, without having to say it--despite the amount of times they did.

Percy didn’t know what he’d do without Annabeth.
Her solid presence during any tough day was enough to keep him going.
Her intelligence saved him from mistakes at least once a day, and she carried herself with such confidence all the time that it only made him admire her more when she broke down in front of him.
Even a day without her proved irritable, the brief loss of her beautiful voice and face, the way she looked at him after he kissed her, her hand in his.
The sun in his life shined a little bit brighter with Annabeth by his side, and everything he loved was highlighted. She gave him purpose.
She was his purpose.
He’d soon realized how big a part Annabeth played in his life, and why they’d never part. Ever again.
So, why not seal the promise with another one?

The two stood facing each other, thinking all of these thoughts.
“You may now kiss the bride.”
Neither of them had ever thought they could top their first underwater kiss, but this was a moment they would carry with them forever, and be reminded of every day.
They were each other’s forever. That was a promise.
a / n : hey demigods !
this one's pretty short, but i was aiming for short and sweet. i don't usually like reading or writing the future of my favorite characters, because then i feel like they're old news. but this kind of implied it in the best way possible.
i hope you enjoyed !
peace out in demigodishness and all that,
