After Tartarus, Annabeth found her hair really unhealthy. She decided to cut it shorter, hopefully helping it.

Percy found out that she was getting a haircut so he booked in as well.

As a surprise, being the romantic he is, Percy dyed the faded grey piece of hair, grey again. When Annabeth saw after he came out she started to tear up and had to get hers done. When one of them needs it, they go back and get it dyed again.
