Percy was stuck watching the kids today.

 Annabeth was tired from Selena keeping her awake all night and wanted to stay in bed. So Percy, being the good husband he is, told her he's call off work and watch their young children. Selena had turned one six months ago and learned how to walk at eleven months. It was around 12:30 when he heard crying from Selena's room. He got off the couch, where Luke and hi were watching Finding Nemo, and walked up the stairs. He wasn't sure where everyone was today. Clarisse, Chris, Connor, Travis, Katie, and Rose were all at Camp. Jason and Piper were out on a date, Thalia was with the hunters, Nico was in the underworld, Will was at camp healing people, Frank and Hazel were at Camp Jupiter, and Annabeth was sick in bed. He opened the door to his daughters room to see Selena standing in her crib jumping up and down calling for, 'Daddy.' He picked her up, smiled, and kissed the top of her head. She smiled, oh gods she was so cute, her two bottom teeth showing. she had long curly black hair that reached a little bit below her shoulders and sparkling grey eyes. Percy set her down on the changing table, changed her diaper, and changed her into a aqua long sleeved romper. It was may and fairly warm out. Percy and Luke were both wearing basketball shorts but Percy was wearing a long sleeved white shirt that had 'NYU. Marine Biology' on the front and the sleeves were tight at the wrist. Luke had a black sweatshirt on that said, 'I'm a Mamma's Boy and I'm proud of it.'

"Hi, Selena. Did you have a good nap?" He asked as he lifted Selena into his arms. She nodded and gave him a big kiss on his cheek. "Aww. Thank you." She giggled and started to play with the beads on his CHB necklace as he walked down into the kitchen. He set her in her high chair and started cutting up some strawberries and buttering toast. He gave his cute daughter the food and she started munching on it. "Luke!" Luke ran into the kitchen.

"Yes, Daddy?" He asked. 

"Go grab your shoes, we are going to the store!" Percy exclaimed. Then he lowered his voice as he saw a very tired Annabeth grab a cup of water. He was in a CHB shirt and grey joggers. her hair was a mess and her yes were blood shot. "And I won't lose you like someone did."

"Hey, I didn't do it on purpose." She snapped and walked back up the stairs. 

"Love you too, honey!" He yelled then looked at Luke and lowered his voice. "Yeesh someone's crabby." Luke laughed, and hearing her brother laugh, Selena started giggling.

"I all done." Selena said. 

"Okay, sweetie." Percy wiped off her hands and mouth with a rag, and set her on the floor. "Let's get your shoes on!" They walked to the entry way and saw Luke standing there in tennis shoes, sunglasses, and hands in his pockets. Percy looked at him as he put Selena's shoes on. 

"I'm ready-" Luke pointed his thumb at the door behind him. "-to hit the road." Luke said very seriously. Percy laughed, Luke totally got his silliness from him, and grabbed the car keys. The three Jackson's walked out the door and Percy buckled them in then started driving to the store. 

He pulled into the parking lot and unbuckled his kids. He grabbed a cart, put Selena in the built in seat and had Luke hold the side of the cart. He walked to the fruit isle and put apples, strawberries, and pears in the cart. They walked to the cracker isle and looked around.

"Luke pick one snack and put it in the cart. Selena what do you want, Sweetie." Percy told his kids. Luke put a box of cheez-itz in the cart and Selena pointed to a box of graham crackers. Percy reached over and put the crackers in the cart.

They were just done paying and walked to the car when Luke tapped Percy's arm.

"What is it, Lukey?" He asked. Luke pointed to something a little ways in front of them.

"That lady is staring at us." Luke said. Percy looked and saw a woman with flaming hair and red eyes.

"Just keep walking." He said as the lady approached them. They were a few yards from the car when a shrill voice rang out. 

"Your children are very cute, Perseus." Kelli, the empousa said. 

"Luke take your sister and stand by the car." Percy said. Luke grabbed Selena's hand and started walking to the car but Kelli grabbed his wrist.

"I don't know. He looks pretty tasty." She licked her lips. Percy drew riptide and uncapped it.

"Let. Go. Of. My. Son." Percy said menacingly. Kelli let go of his wrist and Luke and Selena ran to the car and watched. Percy slashed his sword at her but she dodged. He stabbed at her and she lashed with her talons, they both dodged. 

LINE BREAK because I'm lazy---

They've been fighting for five minutes and Percy glanced at his kids to see them looking at him worriedly. Luke was biting his lip, arm around Selena. Selena was crying and holding Luke's other hand. "Daddy..." She called and continued crying. He turned back to Kelli but was too late as she took his glance as an advantage and swiped her talons across his chest and sunk her teeth into his right forearm, causing him to drop his sword. Kelli cackled and tackled Percy to the ground. He heard both Luke comforting his crying sister as Percy and Kelli fought. Kelli sunk her teeth right under the spot she did a minute ago. Percy grabbed riptide with his left hand and swiped it through Kelli's body as he slowly lost consciousness. Little did he know a certain goddess of wisdom was watching her son-in-law protect her grandchildren and called Will and Nico. 

Nico and Will arrived to the store and Will threw Percy over his shoulders and Nico took the kids into his arms and shadow traveled them back to their house. They arrived in the living room and set Percy on the couch. Athena, who doesn't like Percy, watched Nico set the kids on the floor. "Get this over with." She said and walked to her daughters bedroom. She knocked.

"Come in." She heard a well rested voice say. Athena opened the door and walked in. She saw her daughter typing on her computer. "Percy how was-" She glanced up and sighed. "You're not Percy. What are you doing here?" 

"Your sea scum of a husband got into a fight with an empousa at the store." Athena said in a bored tone. Annabeth jumped out of bed.

"What!? Where are they?" She asked as she through her hair into a pony tail.

"Living room." Athena said. Annabeth ran out of the room and into the living room. She saw Percy laying on the couch, chest bleeding, and his right arm turning pale with two bite marks. She fought back tears.

"W-what happened?" She stuttered as she saw Will coming down the stairs with supplies and Nico tending to her crying daughter. She ran over and took Selena into her arms, bounced her, and stroked her black curls. Selena buried her face in the crook of Annabeth's neck and put her little hands on Annabeth's shoulders. 

"Empousa attack. He turned to look at Selena and Luke and she went for it. He should be fine but your children shouldn't be in here. The radiation of the powers I will be performing can harm them and you don't want to see it. If the spell doesn't work then I don't know what will happen with Percy." Will told her. Annabeth nodded, tears flowing down her cheeks, and brought herself, Luke, and Selena into her and Percy's room. She sat on the bed as Luke watched a show on her TV and she rocked Selena back and forth.

"Shh, baby. Daddy will be okay." She told her daughter but she was crying herself. She felt like she was reassuring her not Selena. Athena was standing but the closed door and looking at her daughter with disapproval written on her face.

"Get a hold of yourself, Annabeth." Athena scolded as a sob escaped her daughter's lips. Annabeth looked at her mother with a disbelieving look as she storked her whimpering daughters hair.

"Get a hold of myself? Mother, Percy could die! And we have two kids and they're so young! He can't leave them! He can't leave ME!" Annabeth said. Selena stopped crying and Annabeth looked down to see her baby girl sound asleep. 

"You could go find someone else. Someone smarter." Athena said.

"No! I will not find someone else. He's my other half. Now, if you aren't here to comfort or support then you can leave." Annabeth said calmly. Annabeth looked at Luke to see him looking at her, she smiled and he returned it. She patted the space next to her and he climbed on the bed and snuggled into his mother's side.

"Mommy, is Daddy going to be okay?" He asked. She took a deep breath.

"I hope so, Honey." She ran a hand through his curly hair and kissed Selena's head. She looked up to see her mom looking at her.

"What?" She snapped.

"You're good at being a mother." Athena told her daughter. "Better than I ever was."

"Thank you, for stating the obvious, mom." Annabeth said dryly. 

"I was just complimenting you." Athena sat on the edge of the bed and smiled at Luke. He looked up at Annabeth and back at Athena. 

"That's your Mommy?" Luke whispered in Annabeth's ears. " She's a little scary." Annabeth laughed. 

"He called you scary if you need to know." Annabeth told her mom, kissing Luke's cheek. Athena chuckled quietly.

"I take that as a compliment." She said. Nico opened the door. 

"It worked, he's sleeping." Nico said. Annabeth jumped up, Selena still in her arms, and ran down the stairs. She saw Percy, his chest and arm wrapped, sleeping. She knelt beside him and stroked his cheek. His eyes fluttered open.

"Hey." He said. 

"You idiot." She laughed and pressed her lips to his before pulling away. "You hungry?" He nodded and she handed Selena to Percy and walked to the kitchen. He laid sleeping Selena on his chest and wrapped an arm around her. Annabeth brought in a sandwhich and he tred to sit up but winced.

"Dude! Lay down!" Will commanded. Percy rolled his eyes, moved Selena so she was laying beside him, and started eating his sandwich. 

"Thanks, Wise Girl." He said. She raked her fingers through his black hair.

"No problem, Seaweed Brain." She replied. "I love you."

"I love you too." He said.

"You aren't taking my kids shopping without me anymore. I may have lost a kid but you passed out." She said as she stood.

"You lost a kid in the store? Annabeth!" Athena scolded. Annabeth looked at Percy with an exasperated look. 

"She hasn't stopped scolding me today." She said and Percy laughed. Annabeth walked to the kitchen, her mom following. 

"Annabeth Minerva Chase." Athena scolded. Annabeth rolled her eyes. Here we go again...
