Hurt

It was a peaceful and quiet sunny day at Camp Half-Blood. Things had been quiet since the Giant War, nine months ago, except for a few monster attacks here and there. Anyway, classes were cancelled because Chiron felt the need to give the strong demigods a break.

Percy and Annabeth were laying down in the Poseidon Cabin, in bed, still in their pajamas and they were facing each other. Annabeth's arm was thrown over Percy's waist and his hand was buried in her blonde curls. They stared into each others unique eyes, admiring the company of the other.

The sun gleamed through the window, landing directly on their bodies, keeping them warm. Annabeth moved her head so her forehead was against Percy's. Percy tightened his grip on her hair but not tight enough to harm her.

"You know I love you, right?" Percy asked in a whisper.

Annabeth nodded. "Yeah," She whispered back. "I love you, too." She tightened her grip on his waist.

Percy stroked her cheek with his thumb. "You're beautiful. Even in a light purple tank top and sweatpants."

Annabeth blushed and buried her face in his chest. "You look good in basketball shorts and a long sleeve shirt."

"Why, thank you," Percy replied, pressing his lips to her blonde hair. He moved his hand from her hair to the middle of her back.

"Percy?" He hummed in response. "Where do you see us after college."

Percy thought about it and decided to joke around a little. "Um, I see us broken up, going our separate ways, never talking to each other again."

Annabeth's eyes widened and she pulled away from him; sitting up. "W-what? Is that how you actually feel?" Her grey eyes were filled with hurt and remorse.

Percy quickly shook his head. "No, gods no." Annabeth sighed and laid back down next to him. "I see us married, with stable jobs, and maybe having two or three kids."

Annabeth nodded against his chest. "Glad we're on the same page."

"You're okay with that amount of kids?" Percy asked, looking down at her.

"Yup." Annabeth pressed her lips against his. He rolled over, pulling Annabeth on top of him; not breaking the kiss. However, they pulled away when an urgent knock sounded at the door. Annabeth got off of Percy and opened the door while Percy stayed put on the bed.

Grover was waiting on the other side, hopping from one hoof to the other- something he does when he's nervous or in a rush. He let out a breath he didn't he was holding. "Oh, good."

"What is it, Grover?" Annabeth questioned, a little annoyed that her and Percy were interrupted.

"Camp is under attack!" Grover bleated. Annabeth could have cried because it had been so peaceful and now her home was under attack. She blinked the tears away and ran to grab her dagger off of Percy's nightstand. "Well? Let's go!" Then the three of them were off to Half-Blood Hill.

---

"Oh, gods." Annabeth muttered at the sight in front of her. Demigods were crowded around the hill, fighting against all types of different monsters; hydras, hellhounds, empousai, manticores.

Percy uncapped riptide. "What are we waiting for? Let's go save camp!" They took off in different directions and started slaying monsters among the other half-bloods.

Annabeth had just sliced through a gorgon when a voice hissed out to her, "Seems like we meet again, Annabeth Chase." Annabeth whipped around and saw Kelli advancing towards her, talons exposed and hair ablaze.

"You again? Thought for sure that you'd leave us alone after defeating you three times!" Annabeth took her fighting stance.

Kelli bared her fangs. "Well, think again, Demigod." She lunged at Annabeth who side stepped out of the way. "Why don't you pests just stay still!" She swiped her talons at Annabeth, managing to get a scratch from her shoulder going down to her elbow. Annabeth hissed in pain as blood dripped down her arm.

"Because we wouldn't be able to survive and save the world countless of times would we?" Annabeth gritted her teeth and jabbed her dagger into Kelli's stomach. The empousai gave a terrible wail before turning into dust. "Defeated four times, now." She kicked the golden dust that laid upon the green grass.

Annabeth looked around and watched her friends and fellow demigods fighting for their lives. For Camp. For each other. She spotted one of her siblings, Malcom, having trouble fighting a gorgon so she slipped her Yankees cap on and sneaked up behind the monster. She took her dagger and slashed it through the gorgon's neck, causing it to turn to dust.

She took her cap up and smiled at her brother who sighed in relief. The smile soon disappeared as she heard a scream of pain. Her blood ran cold and her face paled, as did Malcom's. "Percy," She whispered and ran towards his scream.

As she ran, she saw monster after monster turn to dust until there was none left. The battle must be over. Dust all over the ground, some demigods still stood but some lay pale on the ground. Percy can't be one of them. He just can't. Annabeth ran faster than she ever had before over to where Percy lay, surrounded by demigods.

She shoved everyone out of the way and fell down on to her knees next to him; instantly grabbing his hand. Percy had one of his hands covering a bleeding wound on his side and was groaning in pain. Annabeth looked up at the demigods surrounding them. "Is someone going to go get a stretcher or what?!" She yelled.

"Someone is already getting out," A daughter of Demeter said, placing a gentle hand on Annabeth's shoulder.

Everyone backed away when Apollo kids came back up the hill with a stretcher. "Get him on it then bring him to the infirmary, right away!" Will Solace yelled, already placing Percy on the stretcher and rolling him down the hill.

Annabeth started to run after them but Malcom grabbed her arm, holding her back. She tried to break her arm free but to no avail. "Let me go!" She yelled. "He needs me! Let me go!"

"Annabeth," Will said, calmly. "Percy needs a doctor right now. He doesn't need you worrying over him right now."

"No." Annabeth shook her head, sending her curls flying. "I need to be there with him! Let me go! I can't loose him again, Malcom!" Her voice broke.

Malcom, who was with her when Percy went missing know how fragile she was to him when he was hurt or wasn't with her, sighed but didn't let go of her arm. "You need to let Will focus and not go barging in there."

"No, Malcom, you don't understand!" She yanked her arm but his firm grip was too strong. "Let me go!" Tears started to race down her cheeks and Malcom wrapped his arms around his little sister. "Let me go." She muttered, her voice breaking.

"Shh, Annabeth." Malcom said, hugging her tighter. "Calm down."

"He's hurt and he's dying, Malcom!" She cried. "I'm not going to be calm. Let me go!"

"No." He said and kissed the top of his sister's head. "You need to let the doctors focus."

Annabeth wrapped her arms around her older brother and buried her face in his shoulder. "Let me go. Let me go. Let me go." She mumbled over and over again.

"Let her go." A deep voice said. Malcom and Annabeth broke away but he kept a firm grip on her hand. Chiron galloped up to them and nodded at Annabeth. "Let her go, child."

Malcom let go of Annabeth's hand and just like that, Annabeth was already at the bottom of Half-Blood Hill. She ran and ran until she finally reached the infirmary and pushed open the door. "Will?" She closed the door behind her and walked down the isle of beds until she found the one that had a curtain around it.

"One minute, Annabeth." Will said from behind the curtain. "I need a towel." One of his siblings slid a towel underneath the curtain and Annabeth waited impatiently. "Someone, take over for me." That same kid went behind the curtain and Will came out, wiping the blood off his hands with a towel.

"How is he?" Annabeth bit her lip.

Will glanced behind him. "We're cleaning the wound then we'll stitch it back up." He told her. "He should be fine but he'll have to stay in here until I say so."

Annabeth sighed in relief. "So, he will be okay?"

Will nodded. "Yeah." Annabeth's face relaxed from her former frightened expression. "He did loose a lot of blood though so he'll be asleep for a couple hours."

"Alright, should I go pack him a few things while you guys finish up whatever you're doing over there?" Annabeth gestured to the curtain.

"Yes, that would be great," Will said with a small smile.

Annabeth turned and strode out of the infirmary, heading to the Poseidon Cabin. She opened the door and walked inside, grabbing Percy's blue duffle bag and set it on top of his unmade bed. She sighed and looked over to his dresser. She should probably pack him some clothes.

She opened one of the drawers and grabbed a blue and black sweatshirt out of it and three T-shirts, knowing that he'd probably be in the infirmary for a few days. She then opened another drawer and grabbed one pair of black sweatpants and two pairs of basketball shorts. She placed the clothes in the bag along with his monster proof phone and her lap top that was sitting on his desk.

She zipped the bag up and shouldered it, walking out of the cabin, and shutting the door. She walked across camp and opened the door to the infirmary, stepping inside, and closing the door behind her. "I'm back." She walked back over to the bed but this time, the curtain wasn't covering it.

Percy was laying on the bed in just socks and shorts. His side had a gauze pad against it, blood turning it a pinkish color and his torso was wrapped, keeping the pad in place. She set the bag down next to his bed and knelt next to it. "Seaweed Brain." She ran her fingers through his messy black hair.

A door opened and Annabeth turned her head to see Will coming out of a room where they keep all the medical supplies. "Hey, he'll wake up soon but he has to stay here until his stitches come out. Knowing Percy, he'll damage it doing something heroic so he's on bed rest."

"Okay." Annabeth grabbed Percy's hand and squeezed it lightly.

"I'm going to leave you two alone." Will nodded towards them before exiting the building.

Annabeth looked back at Percy and placed her right hand on his cheek. "Why are you always putting yourself in danger, Seaweed Brain?" She leaned down and laid her forehead against his arm. "One day, you're going to die saving the world and you're going to leave me here," She whispered.

"I won't leave you," Percy groaned. "I'll stick around to annoy you more, don't worry."

Annabeth's head shot up and her mouth broke in to a grin. "Percy!" She said in relief, flinging herself at him, careful to not touch his stab wound. "I thought I was going to lose you!"

Percy wrapped an arm around her back and buried his face in her blonde hair. "I'm still here," He muttered. "And I'm not leaving."

Annabeth sniffled and stood up when she felt him shiver. "I brought you some clothes."

"Did you bring sweatpants and a sweatshirt?" He asked her.

"Yes," She answered him, opening the bag and taking it out. Annabeth slipped the black sweatshirt over his head and helped him pull his arms through the sleeve, careful not to stretch the stitches. She took out his sweatpants and cleared her throat. "Can I help you put these on or..?"

"Yeah." Percy pushed the blankets aside. Annabeth slipped his shorts off and quickly pulled his sweatpants up over his hips. She then pulled the blankets over him and she sat down next to him, running her fingers through his hair. "Thank you, Wise Girl."

"Anytime, Percy," She told him, leaning down to press a kiss to his cheek.

Percy sighed and leaned back against his pillows that was keeping him upright. "I was such an idiot and pathetic."

Annabeth frowned. "Why do you say that?"

"I got stabbed. The hero of Olympus shouldn't get beaten that easily," Percy told her. "I turned away from battle to check on you but I couldn't find you so I got worried then the next thing I knew was that there was a dagger going through my side."

"How did I ever get tangled up with a guy like you?" Annabeth said jokingly and pressed her lips to his for a short but sweet kiss.

"Because... I'm amazing?" Percy raised an eyebrow at her with a smirk on his face.

"Seaweed Brain..." She pressed her forehead to his.

"I love you." He smiled and stared at him lovingly.

"I love you." She smiled as Percy placed his left hand on the back of her head and pulled her down to his mouth where he pressed his lips to hers.

They pulled away. "But seriously, I really do love you."

"I know," Annabeth replied. "And I seriously love you."

His side hurt like Hades but as long as Percy had Annabeth, he'd be okay.

The End. Hope you liked it.
