Christmas Part 2

Annabeth's POV:

We're here.

Oh gods.

"We are?" I asked.

"Yeah. You and Luke slept most the time. Luke is still sleeping and I don't want to wake him up. It is midnight here right now." Percy told me. I unbuckled my seat belt and got out of the car. I walked over to Luke's door and opened it. I carefully unbuckled him ad set him on my hip with my right arm holding him there.

"Mommy?" He mumbled as he lifted his head and looked at me with tired eyes.

"Shh. Go back to sleep." I whispered. He laid his head back down on my shoulder in a way where his cheek was pressed against my collar bone. "Who have the luggage? I can take my suitcase." Percy handed me my suitcase and we rolled our luggage up to the door. Percy knocked. The door opened and there stood my dad in sweatpants and a navy blue San Fran collage shirt. (He's a professor).

"Percy! Annabeth! So glad you could come. Come on it." He stepped to the side and we stepped in. We set our stuff next to the door and followed my dad into the living room.  15 year olds, Bobby and Matthew were on the couch watching football and Helen was no where to be seen, not that I'm complaining. "Bobby and Matthew, they're here." The boys heads snapped up.

"Hey!" Matthew said as he jumped up and walked over. I gave him a hug with my arm that wasn't occupied. Bobby came over and hugged me as well. Then they bro hugged Percy.

"My gods. How old are you guys now?" I joked.

"Fifteen." Bobby answered. "How old are you guys?"

"Twenty-two." Percy said. Bobby looked at us with disappointment on his face.

"Oh.. I though you were older than that. Dang it." He said. I playfully slapped his arms.

"Bobby!" I then turned to my dad. "I have to put him to bed." I motioned to Luke. "Where's he sleeping?"

"The twins are sleeping in the basement and Helen's in bed right now. So, Bobby and Matthew's room. They locked everything they didn't want him to touch in the closet and brought out all their old toys. There is a twin bed air mattress on the floor ready for him."

"Okay, thanks." I walked up the stairs to the twins room and opened the door. I looked at the blue walls with sport posters up and picture frames. Two had  pictures of a swim team and a football team. Another was of my dad, Helen, and them when they were younger. Wait, that was before I ran away. I shook it off and walked over to the mattress. I laid Luke down and covered him with a blanket. I kissed his forehead and walked back downstairs. I sat next to Percy on the couch and laid my head down on his shoulder.

"So, how's life been?" My dad asked. The twins were absorbed in the TV again.

"Nothing much. We're on our last year of college then we get our masters. I think I'll be a stay home architect because of Luke." I said. (I don't know if that's a thing but just roll with me.) "But Percy will go to work."

"How old is Luke now?" My dad asked.

"Three." Percy answered. They talked for about twenty more minutes and I felt my eye lids growing heavy.

"I'm going to bed." I said, standing up. Percy stood too.

"Me too." He said. He grabbed my hand and we walked up the stairs to my old room. We changed into pajamas and I flopped down face first on to the bed. Percy laughed.

"Tired?" He laughed. He climbed in and sat next to me, running his fingers through my curly hair.

"Yeah." I mumbled. I turned over on my back, looked up at him, and smiled. He smiled back and leaned down to kiss me. I kissed back. After we broke away he laid down next me and wrapped and arm around my waist. I buried my face in his chest as I wrapped an arm around his waist. "I love you."

"I love you too." Then sleep consumed me.

Percy POV:

I heard Annabeth's breathing even out implying that she had fallen asleep. I ran my hands through her hair and thought about all she's been through.

1. Her dad married Helen.

2. Her brothers were born.

3. Wasn't allowed by her brothers.

4. Ran away from home.

5. Lived in an ally.

6. Met Luke and Thalia.

7. Thalia died and came back to life.

8. All the quests.

9. Battle of Manhattan

10. Luke's death.

11. Me going missing.

12. Mark of Athena.

13. Tartarus .

14. Giant War.

15. And many more monster attacks.

All that and look where she is now. A wonderful wife and mom. I fell asleep with a smile on my face.

LINE BREAK---

I woke around 3:30 a.m. to whimpers. I looked at Annabeth to see her shaking and tears rolling down her cheeks. She sat bolt upright and looked around the room, eyes wide. I put my hand on her shoulder and she flinched away. She looked at me and her eyes widened even more and backed away.

"Annabeth?" I asked worriedly. She started shaking even more and looked at me.

"Y-You're...What?" She said. I reached for her hand but she pulled it away. "Don't touch me." She got off the bed and stood in the middle of the room and looked around. She looked at the closed doors and window. She looked at me with hatred and fear in her eyes. "You trapped me in here. What do you want?" I noticed her eyes were glazed over. Flashback and nightmare.

"Annabeth, I didn't trap you." I said carefully, standing up and slowly moving towards her. She backed away even more.

"How do you know my name? Who are you?" She asked. I sighed. She was in a flashback where she doesn't see things the way they are.

"What do I look like?" I asked.

"You're just a black shadowy figure. And you're scaring me. I want to get out. I want to get out." She dropped to the ground and put her face in her hands.

"Annabeth, you're trapped in a flashback and you need to snap out of it." I carefully said as I sat in front of her.

"Who are you?" She asked.

"I'm Percy, your husband and our son, Luke, is in the room next door. Annabeth, look at me." She looked at me and her eyes cleared.

"Percy!" She launched herself at me, wrapped her arms around my neck and cried. I rubbed her back.

"D-did I hurt you?" She asked as she looked at me.

"No. You scared me though." I kissed the top of her head.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." She said.

"Annabeth its not your fault that you have PTSD. It will eventually get better." I whispered.

"That's what you said last time." She  said.

"I know but it will." I rubbed soothing circles on her back.

"Why?" Sh asked. I looked at her.

"Why what?"

"Why did you pick me? You could have had any girl at camp and you chose me? Why?"

"I chose you because you've been with me since my first quest. You took that dagger for me. You didn't give up on me. You searched for me even when people told you not to. I chose you because you make me happy, Annabeth. I love you more than anything and that will never change." I answered.

"I love you too." She whispered. "Let's go back to bed." We stood and climbed back to bed. Annaeth wrapped her arms around me and held on tight. I held on just as tight.

"Never let go, Seaweed Brain. Please." She whimpered.

"I will never let you go. I promise." I said. Then we fell asleep.

LINE BREAK---

I woke up to sunlight streaming through the windows. I sat up and looked at Annabeth who was sleeping peacefully. I kissed her head and heard silent crying coming from he hallway. I opened the door and saw Luke standing a few feet down he hallway crying quietly. "Luke?" Luke looked at me and ran over and wrapped his arms around my legs.

"Daddy." He said as he continued to cry.

"What's wrong, Lukey?" I asked.

"I woke up and couldn't find you or Mommy. Where's Mommy?" He said as he looked up at me. I picked him up.

"Sleeping. Want to come to Mommy and Daddy's room?" I asked. He nodded his head and I opened the door. I sat down and put Luke in between Annabeth and me. I turned on the TV and put on Paw Patrol. I laid down with Luke laying next to me. I saw Luke grab Annabeth's hand and hold on to her fingers tightly. I smiled and kissed his cheek. "I love you."

"I love you too, Daddy." He said as he kissed my cheek.  A few minutes later Annabeth opened her eyes.

"Morning, Sleepyhead." I joked.

"Shut up." She mumbled as she rubbed her eyes. Luke looked at her and smiled.

"Mommy! You're awake!" He exclaimed. Loudly might I add.

"Luke, there's still people sleeping. And how did you end up in here?" She asked as she hugged him.

"He was crying in the hallway because he couldn't find us so I brought him in here." I said.

"Oh Lukey, I'm sorry." Annabeth said as she kissed Luke's cheek.

"It's otay Mommy. Your bed is really comfy." He said. Annabeth laughed.

"Yeah. How did you sleep?" She asked.

"Good. But I don't remember Daddy and you tucking me in." Luke said.

"You were already asleep and I didn't want to wake you. I love you." Annabeth said.

"I love you too Mommy." He kissed her cheek. "This much!" He spread his arms out as wide as he could accidentally hitting me in the face. Annabeth burst out laughing.

"Luke, give Mommy a high five." SHe said. Luke high fived her. "Good job."

"Hey!" I protested. "That's-"

"Oh, be quiet Seaweed Brain and let's go down stairs." She said as she stood up and let Luke climb on her back.

"Yay! Mommy's giving me a piggy back ride, Daddy!" He laughed.

"I see that." I said as we walked down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"Matty!" Luke yelled as he saw Matthew sitting at the table. He looked up and smiled.

"Hey, Luke." Luke got down from Annabeth's back and ran to Matthew and hugged him. "How have you been?"

"Good! Merry Christmas!" He said.

"Merry Christmas too you too!" Matthew said. "We have toy trains in the living room. Wanna go play?"

"Yeah!" Luke said. They walked into the living room. I turned to Annabeth.

"How is it that our three year old son remembers it's Christmas but I don't?" I asked.

"That is because your a Seaweed Brain and Luke isn't" Annabeth said as she walked to the room where Luke's giggles could be heard from. I followed. Matthew and Bobby were sitting on the floor playing with trains. Annabeth looked at the Christmas tree that had presents under it. She shook her head and sat on the couch. I sat next to her and wrapped my arm around her shoulders.

"What?" I asked.

"I bet there's not one gift under that tree for Luke." She whispered.

"Maybe not but The Twins and your dad may have gotten him something. I'm sure your grandparents and Teresa got him something too." I said.

"Yeah. Your'e right and it's not like he didn't get a lot of gifts from us." She paused. "Oh gods no. Percy we forgot his presents."

"Uh no we didn't. I put them under the tree last night. I had Hermes deliver them here." I said. She sighed in relief.

"Thank the gods." She looked back at Luke who let out a loud giggle when Matthew ran his train into Luke's.

"Morning." Frederick said from behind us.

"Morning, Dad." Annabeth and Matthew said. Frederick sat on he chair and started reading the newspaper. Then Bobby ran in and tripped over a train and fell. Luke started laughing along with the rest of his.

"Morning. And yeah I'm fine thanks for asking." Bobby said. This made us laugh eve harder.

"Bobby! You're so silly!" Luke said. Annabeth was laughing so hard that she had to clutch her stomach.

"Hey, Luke!" Bobby said as he went to play trains with two other boys. Then Helen walked in.

Annabeth's POV:

After we all had a good laugh Helen walked in. "Oh.. I see you guys made it." She said with disappointment in her voice.

"Yeah. We did." I said. Luke looked at Helen then ran over to me and sat on my lap.

"Who's that?" He asked as he grabbed my hand.

"That's Helen. My stepmom." I whispered. He nodded. "Go play with your uncles." Luke slowly walked over and started playing again. Helen looked at Luke and her eyes widened.

"You still have him." She stated. Percy and I looked at her with disbelief.

"Yes, we still have him. You thought we'd give him away?" Percy asked.

"Well I thought.. nevermind." She said.

"Yeah you better not finish that sentence." I muttered.

"What was that, Annabeth?" Helen asked with fire in her eyes.

"Nothing. Nothing." I said innocently. She walked out and into the kitchen. About twenty minutes later Helen called,

"Breakfast is ready!" I stood and grabbed Luke's hand. Percy, Luke, and I walked into the kitchen. I told Luke to sit next to Matthew and I grabbed a plate. I put some fruit, eggs, and a sausage on it. I walked over to Luke, cut the sausage and eggs up, then set the plate in front of him.

"Milk or juice, Lukey?" I asked.

"Milk, Please." He said. I grabbed a cup and filled it halfway with milk. I put it in front of him and he grabbed it. "Thank you, Mommy."

"Yup. Be careful." I sat next to him and Percy put a plate in front of me. "Thanks." I started eating.

"So... How did you three sleep?" My dad asked.

"Uh..." I looked at Percy.

"Look slept fine." Percy said.

"And you two?" My dad asked. I looked Percy in the eyes and he told me to tell them.

"I had a really bad flashback." I admitted.

"And what kind?" He asked.

"The sort of sleep walking kind where you see things differently but you know your awake. Kind of like you wake up but your mind is stuck in the dream. I woke up and Percy just looked like a black shadowy figure and the room looked like a cell. He eventually snapped me out of it though." I said. Helen muttered something. "What?"

"You could have hurt someone in my family. We should put a lock on that door so when you go all psycho you can't get out and harm any of us." She said. I stared at her and Percy grabbed my hand.

"Don't talk to her that way. It's not her fault she went through all that. It's not her fault she suffers from PTSD. So I wouldn't be talking if I were you." Percy defended. She shut her mouth and leaned back.

"How did you boys sleep?" I asked the twins.

"Besides freezing to death? Okay." Bobby said.

"It wasn't even that cold! The basement has heat and is finished." Matthew retorted. I laughed.

"Well guests will be here in an hour." Helen said as she stood. I grabbed Percy's, Luke's, and my plates and put them in the sink.

"Come on Luke. Let's go get dressed." I said. Luke grabbed my hand and we headed upstairs.

LINE BREAK--

I dressed Luke in black joggers and a red sweatshirt that said, 'Merry Christmas!'. As you can probably tell, Luke does not like jeans. Put him in a pair and he'll pull em back down.

"Mommy?" Luke asked as I put his green socks on.

"Yeah?"

"Isn't it hot here?" He asked.

"No, It's around thirty-six degrees right now." I told him.

"Oh okay." He said. He looked down at his feet.

"What? What is it?" I asked as I lifted her chin up with my finger.

"That lady is mean to you. I don't like it." He said as tears filled his eyes.

"Oh, Honey, it's okay." I hugged him.

"Did she used to be nice to you?"

"When I was your age and her and my dad just got married. Before the twins were born." I said. His sea green eyes widened.

"Are you going to be mean to me when I'm older too?" He asked as a tear rolled down his cheek. My eyes widened.

"Oh gods no! Lukey, I would never be that mean to you."

"But, Mommy, what if you won't like me-" I cut him off by hugging him and running my fingers through his curly hair.

"Luke I will always love you." I said just as Percy walked in.

"I will always love you, Mommy."

(Okay I don't know if a three year old can talk like this so if they can't here: Luke got smarts from Annabeth and Athena and silliness for Percy. So he can speak better than any three year old.)

"Uh.. I'm not sure what's going on." Percy said.

"Just get dressed." I told him. I looked back at Luke. "Go find Matthew." Luke ran out of the room and yelled,

"Matty! Where are you!" I laughed.

"He's a goofball because of you." I told Percy.

"I'm not sure if that's a compliment or an insult.." He trailed off. He was wearing black jeans with a white button up shirt.

(Like how he looks in that one fan art where they're in Paris and Annabeth is in a red dress holding her shoes and they're talking to Hermes? You know what I mean?)

"You look good." I said. He smirked.

"Now that's a compliment." He said.

"Hey! You're right!" I said. Percy smiled and nodded. "For once." His smile dropped.

"Hey. Your mean."

"Mhm. Now I'm going to get dressed." I grabbed black leggings and an over sized red knitted sweater. I changed into it and let my blonde curl fall down my back.

"And you look beautiful." Percy said as he wrapped his arms around my waist from behind.

"Oh, shut up." I said as I playfully shoved him. He kissed me and I kissed back. I wrapped my arms around his neck and his went around my waist. We broke apart when my dad called,

"Annabeth! Percy! People are here!" He yelled. I grabbed Percy's hand and pulled him down the stairs.
