Percy was in Paul's class at Goode High when he got the phone call.

Flashback-

Percy sat in his desk and squinted at the board. They were learning about Shakespeare and with his dyslexia it was torture. He really did try to understand the weird form of English but just found the letters switching around.

He was trying to write down some words and definitions when Paul's phone rang. Percy looked up, as did everyone else in the class, and listened in. 

"Hello?" Paul said into the phone. "Sally? What's wrong?" Percy sat up straighter and concern filled his face. "Uh, why?" 

Sally said something that was muffled but Percy could tell she was trying to hold back tears. "Paul? Is Mom okay?" Paul nodded.

"Okay, I'll tell him. Okay, yeah, Bye. Love you too." Paul hung up and took a deep breath. 

"Paul?" Percy said, uneasy. 

"Percy you need to get to the hospital right now." Paul said, looking at his step-son. 

"Why?" Percy asked. 

"Annabeth." Was all Paul said and Percy jumped up.

"W-what happened?" He asked urgently, grabbing his car keys from Paul. 

"Car accident. I don't know the injuries but she is alive." Paul said. 

"Okay." Then Percy was out the door.

Flashback-

So that was why Percy Jackson was running down the halls of Goode High like a madman. He was almost to the doors when the principal stopped him. 

"And where do you think you are going, Mr. Jackson?" Mr. Peterson asked.

"The hospital." Percy said in a rushed voice.

"Why do you need to go there?" Mr. Peterson was confused. 

"My girlfriend got into an accident. Please let me go." Percy pleaded and the principal sighed.

"Fine." Then Percy ran out of the door, got in his car, put the keys in the ignition, and started to drive to the hospital. 

Annabeth-

Flashback-

I was driving to Percy's house when I came to an intersection. It was a green light so as I was driving across a truck came and crashed into the left side of my car. Then I blacked out.

End of flashback-

Percy-

Percy parked in the parking lot and ran inside the hospital. He ran to the front desk and said, "Annabeth Chase." 

"Okay, please sit over there until a nurse or doctor comes to get you." The lady said and Percy nodded. Percy sat down in one of the chairs and his legs bounced. He was worried sick. A older woman sat next to him. 

"Mint?" She offered.

"No thank you." Percy kindly declined. It's been about ten minutes and no one has come to get him.

"Who are you waiting to see? If you don't mind me asking." The lady asked.

"Not at all. My girlfriend was in a car accident." He said.

"Oh. That poor thing." The lady looked down.

"What about you?" Percy asked.

"Oh! My daughter had her first child." The lady exclaimed.

"That's good news." Percy smiled but turned serious as he heard his name.

"Percy Jackson." A nurse in grey pants and a pink shirt announced. Percy ran over.

"That's me." He said.

"Okay, follow me." The nurse said. "So, Annabeth. Her left leg is broken, four ribs are broken, and her wrist is sprained. She's stable. She just got out of surgery so she's sleeping."

"Surgery? Surgery for what?" Percy asked as they reached the door.

"Her side. Something in her car must have stabbed her. It wasn't deep enough to do any fatal damage though." She informed. She opened the door and let Percy in before closing it.

Percy pushed the curtain aside and and stood a yard away from the hospital bed. Annabeth laid there, sleeping. Her blonde hair splayed out on the pillows and she was wearing a hospital gown. She had a gash on her forehead. Her leg was levitated and her arm rested on her lap, her wrist wrapped up. 

He stared at her. She had an IV in her right arm, helping her stay hydrated, and a heart monitor sticker on her chest and a breathing monitor. His eyes filled with tears.

"Percy!" He looked over at the chairs to see his mom sitting there with blood-shot eyes. 

"Mom. How long have you been here?" Percy asked.

"Two hours. As her mother figure outside of the demigod world I came to stay by Annabeth." Sally said. "I've been here since her surgery." Percy looked back at Annabeth and stood by her. He took her hand and then the water works came.

"I-I don't understand." He shook his head. "Why her?" 

"I don't know, Percy." She comforted as she rubbed his back slowly as he cried. Once he calmed down, he pulled a chair up beside Annabeth and took her hand in his again. "I'm going to get us some dinner." Then Sally left. 

"Annabeth, Wise Girl, please wake up." Percy pleaded. "Annabeth, I love you. Please wake up. Please." He didn't know he started  crying again until he felt a hand touch his cheek and wipe away his tears. 

"Seaweed Brain." Percy's head snapped up and he looked at a very awake Annabeth. "Hi."

"Hi." He said with a huge smile. "How do you feel?" 

"Okay because of the pain relievers they gave me." Annabeth said. 

"What even happened?" Percy stroked Annabeth's cheek with his thumb.

"Some idiot ran their red light and crashed into the side of my car." Annabeth rolled her eyes. 

"Gods, I love you." Then Percy pressed his lips to hers in a passionate kiss.

When they pulled away, Annabeth smiled. "I love you, too."

"Sorry to interrupt the love fest, but I've got food." Sally said from behind Percy with a smirk. 

Sorry it was short but my upper back hurts and I'm on my bed, leaning down to type so I needed to sort of rush the ending. And my typing really sucks today for some reason. Hope you enjoyed though.
