I woke up at the sound of my disturbing alarm clock. "Get your ass up Annabeth," I said to myself and pushed myself away from my very comfortable and lushy bed. After getting dressed, the first thing I did was to go and check on my chocolates.

Mom was busy in the kitchen and dad was in the shower. It was the perfect time for taking out the chocolates. My mom used to make chocolates so there were many wrappers and boxes. I wrapped each block and put it in a heart shaped box in sequence.

"Good morning Annabeth. What are you upto?" Mom asked cocking her head out of the wooden kitchen frame.

"Nothing," I said quickly and hid the box of chocolates.

My mom squinted her eyes and fortunately, didn't suspect anything. I couldn't go with Percy today. I had to pick the cake from the shop. I decided to take my car. Yes, I had a car. A black BMW. I didn't have confidence so I didn't drive. I quickly texted Percy and didn't wait for him to text back. 

Grabbing the box, I exited the house and entered the garage. The black car shimmered as I pulled up the garage door. I turned on the engine and soon I was on the road trying to manage it.

I reached the shop and the same lady was there. I showed my slip and she came out with a cake packed in a box.

"Visit soon," she said smiling and I smiled back.

*School*

I parked the BMW outside the school gate and people of my school looked at me as if I was getting out of a Porsche. I ignored their stares and made my way in the school. My red flannel flew around with the wind as I tightened my grip around the cake box.

"Here she comes," Thalia said and the rest of the group turned to look at me, including Percy.

Hazel's eyes widened as she looked at the cake box. Soon everybody else's eyes also widened. Percy stood with a confused look on his beautiful face.

"Birthday?" Hazel asked.

I shook my head.

"Surprise in lunch," I said smiling.

I just hoped that the chocolates didn't melt. So to make sure I went to the canteen. The lady who served us food was there and she knew me. 

"Hello Annabeth." the lady said getting up from her chair.

"Good morning Mrs.Hathways," I said smiling at the old lady.

"What brings you here at this time?" Mrs.Hathways asked.

"Actually I need a favor. Do you mind keeping this box and this cake in the fridge? I'll get it during lunch," I said keeping the cake and box on the countertop.

"Sure," she said and took the things.

*Skip time to lunch*

My hands became sweaty as I approached the canteen while Hazel blabbered something about the patch up of Selena Gomez and The Weeknd. 

"I'll come in a minute," I said to her and making my way towards Mrs.Hathways.

"Here you go," Mrs.Hathways said handing me the box and chocolates which I left earlier that morning. I walked to my table and I could feel everybody's eyes on me. Percy threw me another confused look, mixed with curiosity. 

"Percy this is for you," I said handing him the eatables and everybody else just watched. It felt like everything was going in slow motion. I closed my eyes tightly as Percy opened the cake box. I opened my eyes but he didn't say anything. Then I watched him unwrap the pink wrapper on the chocolate and place it in a sequence.

Everyone's mouth was hanging open on my table. Percy stood up and before I knew, he placed his lips on mine. Now not only my table, but the whole canteen was staring at us. I could imagine the jealousy in Drew's eyes as I closed my eyes to relish the kiss.
