ANNABETH POV

I finish my last class of the day which is Math and head over to the pool for Percy's swim meet. I walk in to find Percy already there warming up. He smoothly glides from one end to another. He does 5 more laps and gets out of the water his muscled chest wet. He makes his way over to me and pecks me on the lips. Then he blows his whistle calling everyone to order.

"Today we are gonna first warm up and practice long distance", he tells everyone as a few boys groan. Internally I laugh at the fact he remembers all the different competitive swim races. (A/N I don't know if any of this is right so lemme know if it's off and forgive me for my mistakes. I'm not really athletic so I'm practically making stuff up;))

I pass the time by rereading To Kill A Mockingbird. I love that book so much. I first read the book when I was 12 and it became my favorite book. I'm reading the scene where they were heading to the Halloween party when Percy comes up to me wearing his moss colored sweatshirt with magenta jeans.

"One second I need to finish this part!" I tell him and continue reading. He sighs and rolls his eyes but sits down.

"Ok done!" I say a minute later.

"That took you FOREVER!" He complained.

"It was only a minute!" I exclaimed and ignored his protests. "So will now tell me where we are gonna go?" I ask him because at lunch he told me that he had a surprise for me after school.

"Nope. I won't tell you till we get there." He responded, " And no guessing either!" I sigh but get up so we can walk to the subway.

Once we got in the subway we grabbed two seats. We started talking and Percy tells me our destination is at the last stop because I wouldn't leave the topic unless he told me something. Then we started talking about school and how I met a few girls like Naomi and Hana who both were needs (like me) but then I noticed Percy was slowly falling asleep. I let him sleep with his head in the crook of my neck and pull out my book (the cover).

Once we reached the last stop I woke him up and and he got mad at himself for not being awake the whole time (and sleeping till 5).I laugh at that and tell him to relax. He does but not as much as I would've liked.

He hails a taxi and asks him to take us to Inwood Hill Park waterside. The driver drops us off by the water and a whole forest. I'm confused because I've never heard of that place when Percy starts reciting a speech I bet he memorized.

"We are at Inwood Hill Park which is the last natural forest in NYC. Annabeth my plan was to take you here the first day of summer but since you're here now I decided to take you here today. I first came here with my mom a few weeks ago and couldn't stop thinking how peaceful it was. Then that's when it hit me. That's what we need. Peace. So I decided that this should be our place to be alone. Camp is great and will forever be home but we need a place to." Percy said. I almost laughed and cried at the same time so I did both but I also tackled him in a hug.

He chucked and pulled out a few blankets with some Ziplock bags with PB&J in them.

"How are you prepared?" I ask surprised.

"I'm not. I asked Paul to bring these things from home during his break." Percy said, winking at me. I laugh and sit down on the blanket next to Percy looking at the sunset. He hands me a sandwich. I take it and start eating it.

"Do you know what this feels like?" I ask him in between bites.

"The zoo truck, and the time in the Argo ll?" Percy guesses with a smile. I nod laughing at Franks face when he saw us in the morning. We finish our sandwiches and snuggle, gazing at the stars. I'm officially the happiest person on Earth
