I
{Percy}
I disarmed a new camper, when Annabeth came running to me.
"Percy," she said. "Chiron wants you."
"Oh, ok." I sigh, and follow her to the big house. On the porch were 7 chairs. Chiron sat in his wheel chair and smiled at me as I sat down.
Jason, Piper, and Nico were sitting there. I took a seat, and Clarisse stomped up followed by Leo. They sat down.
"What is it?" Annabeth asked. I inched my hand closer to her. Then she noticed and just took my hand.
"You 7 have been chosen to go to Goode High School."
"But the school year... It's September 23rd, Chiron. We'll all be new." I object. "And what about monsters? Seriously, 3 big 3 demigods."
"The gods have designed you a safe haven." Chiron sighed. He tossed Annabeth a key.
"400th floor?" She asked.
"Yes," Chiron said.
Clarisse was mad now, I could tell. "Why do we have to go anyways?!"
"Well... You see, er, Camp Half-Blood is getting a wee to young for you, don't you think?" Chiron asked.
"Well..." I faltered. My demigod friends were going to High School with me! I knew I was grinning and blushing at the same exact time.
"You leave tomorrow!" Chiron said cheekily.
I looked at my watch. 5:15 pm. At 5:30 we would go for dinner at the dining pavilion. We didn't have a lot of time to pack, that's for sure.
With that, Clarisse stomped off, Nico looked kind of happy, Leo set the table on fire with happiness, and so on. The only people unhappy were Jason and Clarisse, and that's because they had to go together.
I put my arm around Annabeth and we walked back to the Commons Area.
"High school, huh?" Annabeth smiled. "Sophomores at Goode High School. Sounds fun."
"But Nico's an eighth grader," I say. "He'll be in Goode Middle School right beside us."
"Well..." Annabeth shrugs. Before she can go into her cabin, we kiss, and I just decide to miss dinner. I collapsed on my bunk, and got in the trunk below my bed. I snacked on blue Jolly Ranchers and blue jelly beans.
Before I know it, it's only 8:30, but I'm out like a light.
"Lights out..." I say just before I drift into sleep.
I woke up to somebody shaking me.
"Just a minute mom..." I grumble sleepily, and then shot up. Annabeth, Leo, Jason, Nico, Piper, and Clarisse were all doubled over laughing.
"Oh, seaweed brain," Annabeth said through laughs. Clarisse was on the floor rolling over.
"It's 10:30," laughed Leo.
"What?!" I jumped out of bed. All my clothes, armor, toiletries, were all over the place, and we had to leave at 1:00pm after lunch. It was a Sunday, so school wasn't going on right now. As they began to leave my cabin, I sighed. "Annabeth? Will you-"
"Help you pack?" She smirked. "C'mon, kelp head."
Annabeth helped me find everything, and I packed my suitcases.
"Seaweed brain, you're gonna need a new wardrobe," Annabeth laughed.
"Well," I shrug. "I will as soon as we get to the city."
I headed for lunch. I'd missed breakfast, so I was really hungry. I had pizza, chips, barbecue, and blue cherry coke.
"Argus is waiting," Chiron said as we began trudging up the hill.
"Ok!" We all yelled.
"Race you to the top?" Leo asked me.
"On 3!" Annabeth said.
"1...3!!" I said and took off. My suitcase was heavy, but not as heavy as Annabeth's obviously. Leo's was light, but the fact that I'm more athletic sold him. I beat him to the top!
"Oooooohhhhhh!" Clarisse said. "Valdez got beat!"
"Shuddup, Clarisse," Leo muttered. But Clarisse still heard, and gave him a noogie.
"Ow," Leo said.
"There s'more where that came from!" Clarisse laughed. "See what I just did there? S'more where that came from! Classic camp fire joke!"
I piled into the van beside Annabeth and Jason.
Argus started driving.
About 4 hours later due to city traffic, we arrived at a building. Annabeth looked at the key.
"400?" She asked.
"No possible way," Leo said. "That isn't even 200 levels."
The building had a whole wall as a window. I breathed. "Leo's right." I agree.
"Well, let's go," Jason said, his mouth still wide opened staring.
"No possible way," everybody was murmuring. Annabeth handed me the key.
We walked into the fancy, obviously new building. A woman much like the one in the Empire State Building sat at a desk reading... 'Mythology Gossip?' The only reason I could make out the title was because it was in Ancient Greek.
"Ma'am, we are for floor 400," I say.
"No such floor," the woman said lazily, not looking up from the magazine.
"Yeah, ok. We have 7 demigods. 3 are Big 3 children, so I'd tell us." I sigh. She didn't buy it. I sat the key down on her desk.
"Ok, listen there's no such-" she saw the key and immediately sat straight up. "Insert the key in the slot... and hold on to something."
We all headed to the elevator. I slid the key into the slot. A screen came down.
'Pleas hold on to something' was displayed in big letters on the screen. And below it in smaller letters read:
'Ride will begin in 4 seconds' I grabbed the railing as the clock quickly ticked down and... We blasted up at about 900 miles an hour. I wasn't holding on tight enough, therefore I fell into the floor along with Jason, Leo, Nico, and Annabeth. But within 2 more seconds it was over. I felt sort of sick, and doing this 2 or 3 times a day might get a little messy.
The elevator dinged. I took out the key, and the screen was sucked back into the flap and covered up as if nothing were there. The elevator door opened to reveal a huge floor.
Leo Valdez was displayed on the first door to the right in letters that seemed to be on fire. The next door had my name on it, but sea green and neat, like my fathers handwriting. Jason Grace was written in letters that looked like lightning, and then Nico Di Angelo in pitch black letters outlined in bone white.
On the other side, Piper McLean was in pretty pink letters, and then beside it was Annabeth Chase in gray letters. Next was Clarisse La Rue in big, messy, block red letters. At the end of the hall (our doors were put closely, making me wonder the size of the rooms) were a few rooms. One read 'Living Area' the other read 'Game Room' another one read 'dining hall' and another one read 'training room.'
I hung the key up on a key ring beside the elevator and left for my room.
As soon as I saw it, I knew it was magic. The rooms were way too big to be right next to each other. Mine was a few more square feet wide and long of my cabin, not to mention the on-suite bathroom and balcony.
"Woah..." I say. It was sea green and smelt like the ocean. I dropped my suitcase and closed the door. I ran for the balcony. The view was of the ocean. My bed was a king size, and across from it was a TV. The TV was hooked to a Playstation 4 and an Xbox 1, a Wii, Wii U, and games and movies lined the shelves. In the corner was a bubbling hot tub next to the sliding door to my balcony. My closet was a walk in. A mini-fridge in the corner was stocked with blue chocolate ice cream, blue chocolate chip cookie dough and blue cherry coke. I was amazed. I started to unpack and throw everything messily in my closet, when I heard a knock. I went to the door and opened it.
"Hey," Annabeth said. "Wow. No fair! You get a hot tub!"
"What do you have?" I asked. Annabeth suddenly got all dreamy.
"That game at the Lotus Casino, that architecture game? I have that!" She squealed. "And I have a library, a TV, and a learning center with iPads and Macs!"
"Wow," I say, a little jealous of he iPads.
"Alright. It's already 6:30, we should eat." Annabeth said.
"To the dining hall?" I asked. She nodded.
We left our rooms and went to the dining hall. It was even more amazing. It was like a hotel lobby, but stocked to the brim with TVs hooked to every gaming system you could ever imagine! Even PlayStation 1 and 2! If this was what this looked like, I could only imagine the gaming room!
I sat down next to Leo, who immediately turned to me.
"Let's head for the gaming room!" We both said at the same time.
"Take our food and eat in there?" I asked.
"Oh yeah," he agreed. Jason came with us. They even had blue food in our buffet, which I got. We went to the Gaming Room and I almost died. Over in the corner were 7 iPads, 7 iPods, 7 macs, and 7 Samsung Tablets.
There were 7 huge Flat Screens. One was sea green, which I went to. Very game that had ever even existed lined shelves beside mine. And every game station that had ever existed was hooked to the TV. I started playing Call of Duty Black Ops 3 on Playstation 4.
I had a feeling I would enjoy this High School experience.
The penthouse idea came from a different book, not mine but I did change it up quite a bit. ;)
