5 minutes later Annabeth ran up to me and knelt behind my head.

"We need to take him to the hospital," the paramedic said.

"Ok," Annabeth said. "He can't stay out of the hospital."

I laughed, and the paramedic scolded me.

I smiled at Annabeth as they lifted me into the ambulance on a stretcher.

Then Todd ran to me. "Yo Hard Hat."

"Yo T-Dawg, that my new nickname?" I smirked.

"That's right, Hard Hat. I got it on camera, that's going on YouTube. Oh, and the police officer too." T-Dawg was pretty forgetful. News people started coming around the scene and trying to interview my mortal friends, but Todd and Joey just jumped into the ambulance with me and Annabeth and shut the doors.

We started to the hospital, and I remembered my board. Did that mortal jerk take it? Was it still on the street, a $100 board waiting for somebody to take it?

"Hey," Joey said. "Don't worry about this we'll figure it out."

"Where's my board?" I asked.

"Right here," Todd said. He held it up with 2 hands and I almost died. There was my board, which that guy had hit me so hard with it had broken in half.

"Skaters vs. Haters, dude," Todd shrugged. "That's how it rolls."

"Uh... Huh." I said miserably.

"Stop talking," the paramedic ordered.

"Gods I hope he doesn't have brain damage," Annabeth said to Leo. Wait, Leo? Did he get in here? Ok whatever.

"Hey man," Leo showed me a robotic dog. "Hershey?"

"Hershey," I agreed. Then the robots eyes turned on. They were glowing sea green rubies.

"He's programmed to know all about you. His chip." Leo said. "He'll protect you over his life. So don't fall down to Tartarus again, it was hard work having to program all your information into this one little robot. He follows your every order. Oh, and bro, so you won't fall down into Tartarus again, he has built in propellers and rocket boots. So, uh, yeah. And he has razor sharp celestial bronze teeth. He's tied with Twix for the smartest dog in the world. And check this out." He pushed a button and Hershey tensed. Then balloons and streamers flew everywhere. Really? "Party mode! Oh, and he breaths fire, so..."

"Oh, gods Leo you're so ADHD. Even for a demigod." I said. The paramedic looked kind of freaked out. I smirked and offered her my hand. "Son of Poseidon, in yo serrrrvice..."

Leo caught on. "Oh, no! He has brain damage! He's acting stupid!"

"I like flying horseshoes..." I stammer.

Annabeth smacked Leo and said, "Not something to joke about, McShizzle."

"Ok, ok," Leo sighed. "Gigs up. Hope you enjoyed! Good night, New York, New York!"

"Wow, your friends are cool." Joey shrugged. "And kinda cute."

Leo looked amazed. "Me? Ok, I got a girlfriend-"

"That's my girlfriend, bro," I laugh. "Annabeth is my girlfriend."

Annabeth looks murderous right about now. "Yep."

"Calm down, Annie." I say.

"Don't call me Annie," Annabeth said.

"Where's Jason?" I asked. "And Piper?"

"Jason and Piper are up in the sky making out." Annabeth sighs.

"Are they sky diving?" Todd asked. "That's sick."

"Um, yeah sure lets go with that." Annabeth sighed.

"Hey," Leo had assembled a bunch of nuts and bolts into the shape of a swan. "Check this out."

"Woah!" Todd said.

"No, freakin, way." Said Joey.

"When will I be out of the hospital?" I asked. And to prove my point, I yanked out all of the chords from my nose and got out of the stretcher. Annabeth handed me 2 squares of Ambrosia and I ate them. Immediately I felt a lot better and my pain seeped away. I could feel the swelling go down.

The paramedic gasped. I whistled, and headed for the ambulance doors. It was almost stopped in traffic, but it was still going maybe 8 miles an hour. Annabeth and Leo got ready. I kicked open the ambulance doors and see news vans following me. Not a moment too soon I jump out of the ambulance, and blackjack swooped down and picked me up. The ambulance slammed on breaks and the paramedics started yelling at me. Annabeth and Leo jumped onto Blackjack. Todd handed me my board.

"Thanks," I said, and Blackjack shot off. I turned and Annabeth immediately kissed me, hard.

"You're so stupid!" She said.

"A mortal busted me over the head with a board... I think... I don't remember but Todd has it on camera." I shrug. "I... It's really fuzzy. I think there was a fight and... I don't know. I don't remember." I confess. Blackjack flies around, and circles above a coffee shop.

"So are you free about 12:30, um, say like right now?" I asked her.

"Yeah," she said. "Why, you got something you want to do?"

"Would you like to go on a date at Sherry's Café?" I asked.

She took my hand and smiled. Blackjack came to a complete stop and I jumped off.

Thanks buddy, I told Blackjack.

No prob boss. Remember, I owe you my life. Least I could do. Blackjack said. With that we both left, and went into the coffee shop, Leo and Hershey too. Leo got on the phone with his girlfriend Kelsey and said to come to Sherry's Café.

Annabeth and I sat down at a table for 2.

"So you think you can get in a skater fight and think that's a good idea?" She demanded. Hershey growled at my feet. Annabeth didn't hear it I don't think.

"I... We didn't want to... I don't know. Monday at school I'll get Todd to give me a copy of the video." I shrug. "I don't remember..."

"You had a concussion," Annabeth decided.

I shrug. "I don't even remember it."

"You had a concussion." She said.

"I know..." I sigh. "So where to next?"

"Let's go see a movie?" She asked.

"Sure. What movie?" I asked.

"The Longest Ride." She said wistfully.

"Um... Ok?" I asked.

"I'm just kidding," she sighed. "Let's go see The Gift."

"Ok," I say. "My wise girl."

We had some Lattes, and then left for the movie theatre.
