Wedding - 3 (END)

"What are you doing?" Maya stared at Decha as she walked into the living room. She eyed Kongpob and Nai who were excitedly standing behind Decha who had different templates in his hand, and many more with Somsak who sat beside him.

"Oh, Maya! We were waiting for you!" Decha smiled wide, signalling his wife to walk closer, he placed the templates on the coffee table.

"What do you think? Khun Somsak brought these ideas for the wedding stage. Select one Maya, we want to know your opinion too."

Maya clutched her hands on either side. Her gaze fell on Kongpob who was smiling as he pointed at the templates along with Nai.

"Why do you even care about my opinion? Give away everything you have!"

Kongpob froze, the smile on his face fell as he clutched onto the sofa. Raising his gaze to meet Maya's fuming form, he gulped.

"Mae!" Nai glared at his mother. He wasn't pleased with his mother's attitude.

"Why do you always speak like this? Por only wanted a suggestion from you. He asked us too and P'Kong was the one who asked us to wait for you so you could give your opinion too!"

Maya pointed her finger at her son, glaring, her chest heaving with anger. "Don't you dare talk back to me, Nai!"

Somsak glanced at the Maya and Decha. He took a deep breath, he knew this might happen. Excusing himself he walked away from the living room, he shouldn't get in between this.

"Nai! Wait!" Kongpob tried to call out for his brother but Nai had already run upstairs after throwing glares at Maya.

He bit his lips when he felt a hand on his arm. Turning to face Decha he nodded his head when the other signalled him to go upstairs. He didn't dare to look at Maya as he walked past her.

"You'll never listen to me, P'Decha." Maya let out a stuttering breath. Glaring at her husband.

Once Decha made sure Kongpob had gone upstairs he stood up, his gaze unpleasant as he stared at Maya.

"You should stop talking nonsense, Maya."

Maya scoffed, "The type of wedding you're dreaming of, do you know how much it is going to cost?!"

"Yes, I know," Decha didn't falter his gaze from his wife.

"I can't believe you're doing this! Relatives which we haven't even seen in years are being invited! Confectioners, florists, wedding arrangers being called in from the best! You're acting as if you have nothing to look at beyond this wedding!"

Maya was fuming, and the lack of response from Decha was angering her more than she already was. It had always been about Kongpob for Decha, her husband didn't care about anything else. And that was scaring Maya.

Decha took a deep breath, "My brother and his wife's every dream will come true. They trusted Kong in my hands and I won't let them down."

"You only remember about their dreams!" Angry tears started to stream down her cheeks. "Do you remember that even your son is waiting to get married!?"

"Maya, do you think I'll forget about Nai? How could you?"

Maya couldn't help but roll her eyes, "You act so! I can't help but worry, P'Decha! It feels as if I'm the only one who's eyeing Nai's future! You act as if you aren't a part of it!"

"I have spoken about Nai to soo many people, but just because he's dark I can't find a suitor for him."

Decha bit his lip, seeing his wife crying and breaking down in front of him was aching his heart. But he wasn't ready to apologise for anything, as far as he knows, he is sure that what he is doing is the right thing to be done. But that doesn't mean he hadn't kept Nai in his mind all along.

"Worse now if we can't provide for his wedding expenses, nothing is going to happen! You're giving away everything you have for Kongpob! What more do you have to give Nai?! Your own son! You refuse to even use the dowry Kongpob got!"

"But why would you even worry about it?!" Maya threw her arms in the air, glaring at her husband who had his back turned towards her.

"You even pawned off our house at Doi Ang Khang to pay for Kongpob's wedding! What else do we have now!? Sell away this house too!"

"Maya!" Decha glowered at his wife as he turned around absurdly. Staring at Maya for a second he made his way upstairs.

He wouldn't be able to contain his anger if he stayed any longer. What Maya said did make sense but the whole thing wasn't like she saw it. Maya looked at everything with the mindset of Kongpob not being her son, and that wasn't good. She wouldn't be able to see things the way he was seeing them.

And there was no use in trying to make her understand. He had tried soo many times and it had always ended up with them getting into huge arguments and he wasn't pleased with it.

"Kong?" Decha blinked, confused as he walked into the study room. Seeing Kongpob sobbing on the couch in the room made him concerned.

Rushing to his nephew's side he sat beside him."Hey, what happened? Why are you crying?"

Kongpob looked up at the elder, eyes puffed and teary.

"I don't want to marry, Lung."

Decha's eyes widened, "Kong! What are you saying?"

"W-What happened, dear? Tell me. Is something wrong?"

Kongpob shook his head, staring down at his lap. His palms clutched onto his sweater.

"Lung, your house at Doi Ang Khang, you built it brick by brick. It's the fruit of your effort. And you mortgaged it for this wedding."

Decha gasped, eyes widening as he realised that the younger might have heard him and Maya arguing a few minutes ago.

"Nai's marriage is yet to come! I'll never forgive myself if anything happens to his proposals because of this. You shouldn't have done that Lung." Kongpob sobbed, wiping his tears with his sleeves.

"Kong," Decha placed a hand on the younger's knee. "Do you think too that I never cared about Nai?

The younger immediately shook his head making the other chuckle.

"I give you my word, son. He'll have just as fine a wedding as yours. I promise you that." Kongpob turned his gaze to the elder, the sincere and assuring smile on his lips calmed him a bit.

"For every parent, their children's wedding is a dream come true. Will you not let my wish come true, son?" Decha pouted, trying to cheer the younger up.

Kongpob bit his lips. He doesn't know how he should respond. He was still confused, filled with fear. Maya's words still echoed in his ears.

"By the way, I got David's letter today." Decha smiled excitedly.

"He spoke about the times we spend at Doi Ang Khang. He conveyed how happy he was, forming this kind of bond with us."

David reached to hold Kongpob's hand in his, he patted the other's palm that was clutched into a fist.

"And he asked me to not worry about the expenses for the wedding. He told me we're one family and that I don't have to prove to anyone about anything."

Kongpob raised his gaze when Decha cupped his cheek. Sniffling he stared at the smiling face of the elder.

"When you have such a fine father-in-law, what should I worry about, Kong?"

The younger couldn't help but sob. Decha was right, David saw him as his own son. They cared for him and loved him in a short span of time. And here he thought about breaking off the marriage.

"I have one more good news for you." A mischievous smile took over the elder as he stood up, walking towards the study table. Kongpob's eyes followed his movements.

"It seems like, in today's mail, there is a letter for you." Decha turned around, smirking as he walked back to Kongpob. Handing the letter he took from the table to the younger male.

"Kong, dear," Decha caressed the other's hair. Smiling when Kongpob closed his eyes and sighed.

"Someone far away is waiting for you. Weaving dreams and hopes about this relationship. And you'll soon reach that person to fill in colours in his life."

"I love you, my child. You don't have to give an ear to what others say. Trust your Lung."

Kongpob opened his eyes, sniffling as he felt Decha press a soft kiss on his forehead before walking out of the room. Giving him privacy.

Wiping his tears Kongpob stared down at the envelope in his hand. With trembling hands, he tore open the envelope. Taking out the neatly placed piece of paper from it, feeling a kind of relief and calmness take over him. A small smile spread across his lips as he opened the letter.

Hi Kong,

It's four in the morning as I write this letter. Sleep has not even attempted to pass by my eyes. Yesterday was my first day working at the office after being promoted from the factory. I can proudly say that I reached office before anyone else, it was my first day after all. But I'm not soo proud of the fact that I was not able to do any work.

All that came to my mind and occupied my thoughts were our days at Doi Ang Khang, your laughter and smiles. The time we spend at the balcony, that sleepless night under the bright moonlight and cold breeze.

I did a lot of hard work today though, trying to match the colour themes for our wedding costumes! Our costumes for reception and dinner parties. You looked beautiful in everything and anything that I had imagined you wearing, Kong. How will I choose one from them? It's soo hard!

I had coffee after coffee today to stay fresh but the only thing that remains fresh is your adorable giggles and enchanting black orbs. I miss you Kong, soo much.

I can't express or explain the source of this enthusiasm that I'm feeling. I want to make you proud, make everyone proud and show them that I'm worthy enough to have you. I'm propelled to achieve things in life, I give you my word, love. I'll make you proud.

I miss you, Kong. Can't wait to meet you again, three months seems soo long. Feels like decades apart. But I'll wait patiently, after all, we have a lifetime to spend together.

Yours,
P'Arthit

"Kongpob! There is a call for you!"

Somsak raised the telephone, a teasing smile on his lips as he spotted Kongpob running towards him from the kitchen.

"Who is it Khun Somsak?" Kongpob's eyes were of hopes, shining as he spotted the sly smile on the other's face.

"Perhaps, an important person to you, I guess?" Somsak handed the phone to the younger before he fled the place, chuckling to himself.

Once Somsak was out of sight Kongpob excitedly placed the receiver on his ear. He was eager to speak to the elder male. Ever since Arthit called him two weeks ago, telling he was selected to represent the company for the new project deal with a Japanese multinational corporation in Tokyo in three weeks he hadn't disturbed the other in any sort of ways, he wanted Arthit to concentrate on his first assignment and give him enough time to prepare everything. Though they spoke through letters once in a while.

And now getting Arthit's call today, he was extremely happy to be able to hear the other's voice that he had missed soo much.

"Hello?"

The younger's eyebrows furrowed, he was only replied with silence from the other end.

A pout formed on his lips, "What happened?"

A deep sigh was heard through the speaker, "I embarrassed myself at today's meeting."

"Huh? How?" Kongpob leaned on the wall, clutching onto the receiver as he listened to the elder frustratingly narrate what had happened.

"The project reports will be done in 3 days, let's book the flight tickets for Monday." Arthit turned off the presentation on his laptop after giving a detailed explanation about it to the managers.

Taking his seat he glanced at Aran who gave him a thumbs-up, smiling encouragingly at him. He was glad that everyone was pleased with his project report.

Clearing his throat he turned towards one of their team member who was seated beside him, "I was thinking Khun Kongpob- Uh I mean, Khun Keith-"

Arthit felt his whole face warm up as he heard the others clear their throats with a smirk on their lips at his slip of tongue. He was sure he looked like ripe tomato at the moment. His brother even proceeded to drink the glass of water in front of him to hide his smile.

"I-Khun Keith, it would be nice if you and Khun Joe can join me on this trip." Arthit professionally corrected his demeanour, as if he hadn't embarrassed himself in front of his seniors.

"Sure Khun Arthit," Keith bit his lips, trying soo hard to not laugh. Everyone in the room knew the person whose name Arthit had 'accidentally' mentioned, after all, it was their CEO's soon to be son-in-law.

Arthit gave a nervous smile, turning to his brother he pushed a file about the report summary towards him.

"By the way, P'Aran, is it necessary to send the papers to our auditors in Chiang Mai-" Arthit groaned. "N-No I mean, Chon Buri?"

Arthit closed his eyes, another series of snickers echoed through the meeting room. And Arthit wished a hole would suddenly appear so that he could hide in it.

Aran cleared his throat, clearly trying to muffle his laughter as he raised his gaze. Seeing his brother's face flushed red, eyes roaming everywhere but meeting them he wished he had a camera to capture the moment.

"No, it won't be necessary-" Aran chuckled when Arthit looked up at him, helplessly. "My dear brother."

The younger nodded his head frantically, gathering the files on his table."Yes, of course."

Arthit could see how bad everyone was trying to hold their smiles, they didn't even try to look up at him in fear of bursting out in laughter. So he did what was good for him and the others. Absurdly standing up from his seat he gulped.

"Excuse me, I'll be back."

"You're laughing!?" Arthit gasped, glaring down at the floor as he leaned on his cubicle door. Kongpob's laughter rang in his ears through his phone.

The younger on the other hand was trying hard to keep his laughter in but imagining what the elder had narrated it was tempting him to laugh.

"I'm not going to talk to you again, Kong!"

"Hey! Wait-" before Kongpob could add in a word the call got hung up. And he fell into another fit of laughter.

Imagining Arthit's blushing face, glaring eyes and embarrassed smile made him laugh harder. Accompanied by the butterflies he felt at the thought of Arthit's mind occupied with him.

Feeling a flutter run down him realising the fact that a week of not communicating, him giving time for the elder to prepare for his big day, despite all of it Arthit was still thinking about him. What more can he ask for?

In the evening when Kongpob and Nai were walking home from college, Kongpob narrated what had happened during the morning call which made Nai laugh and pout at the same time.

"Oh, P'Kong! You upsetted him!" Despite feeling bad for his brother-in-law Nai couldn't help but giggle.

Kongpob chuckled, nodding his head. When his eyes caught the sight of the phonebooth near them a wide smile graced his lips as he turned towards Nai. "Wait here, let me make a call."

Nai giggled, giving a thumbs up."Good! Go and call him!"

Kongpob rushed towards the phone booth, his fingers trembling in unknown excitement as he dialled Arthit's number. Glancing out of the booth he giggled when Nai motioned him to speak up.

When the call got connected Kongpob greeted the elder softly, "Hello?"

"Hey." A sniffle was heard from the other end making Kongpob's lips droop into a pout.

"You drank cold water again?"

The reply hesitated for a second before Kongpob heard Arthit's husky voice through the phone."Yeah."

"Why?"

Kongpob could feel that the other was stressed, he could understand it through the tone of the elder's voice, the heavy breathing and hesitant reply.

"I'm coming to see you." Kongpob's eyes widened at the elder's declaration.

"Hey! Wait!"

Arthit shook his head on the other end, determination filled his voice."I'm coming right now! I want to see you."

"Wait!" Kongpob breathed heavily, the despair and need of being close to eachother were evident in the elder's voice and it brought a smile on his lips.

Giving Arthit the time to cool down, calm his racing heart, Kongpob whispered.

"Are you.... afraid? I know it's a big project, is it bothering you?" Kongpob's voice was laced in concern that it made Arthit bit his lips, controlling the urge to just book a flight and reach his fiance, hold him in his arms.

"Kong, if I don't succeed in this, will it affect our relationship?"

Kongpob chuckled, shaking his head. Oh, his man was overthinking.

"Do you think it will? Besides, who told you that you will not succeed?"

Arthit sighed, he was still at the company, preparing for the last-minute settlement for his journey. And when he was rethinking his decision of going to Tokyo, representing their company, Kongpob called him. As if the younger knew when exactly he needed him.

"Everyone here seems to be more successful than I am, more capable. I'm afraid I'll disappoint them."

"Trust me. You'll succeed, P'Arthit Kharp," Kongpob assured.

"And when you return, completing the deal, Pa, P'Aran and P'Neen, all your colleagues will be proud of you. They'll all have those wide smiles on their faces as you come back holding success." The younger took a deep breath, a shy smile on his lips. "I am proud of you, P'Arthit."

Arthit's breath hitched, "How can you speak with such confidence?"

"Because I know you." Kongpob giggled.

Arthit closed his eyes, smiling for the first time that day. "It seems like you know me better than I know myself."

Kongpob could only smile at the other end, he hoped he could see the elder, hold him in his arms and whisper comforting words in his ears. But it was all more than it, this felt right too. The silence that followed felt right, nothing was wrong, it was just them.

"I'll pray for you, I'll be waiting for you, P'Arthit."

If Arthit felt his heart skip a few beats he wasn't surprised at all. Kongpob always had that effect on him.

"I'm leaving tomorrow evening. For a month there won't be any phone calls, no letters. Are you sure about it?" The elder challenged back.

Kongpob smirked, "I accept, anything else?"

Smiling ear to ear Arthit chuckled at the confident answer. He was just falling in love over and over again with the man on the other side of the phone.

"Sir? You're here! Everyone's waiting for you in the meeting room."

A sigh left the younger's lips as he heard another voice on the other end. Regaining his composure he put a smile on his face, nodding his head even though Arthit couldn't see him.

"I love you P'Arthit." A whisper left his lips as he closed his eyes, listening to the rhythmic breathing of the elder as long as possible.

"Thank you, Kong. For trusting me. I love you."

As the call got hung up Kongpob breathed heavily. The image of the elder plastered in his senses as he gave time to himself to calm his emotions. It felt weird and not weird at the same time. A man who he barely knew a few months back has turned out to be the most important person in his life now.

"What did P'Arthit say?!" Nai excitedly took hold of Kongpob's arm as the latter came out of the booth.

"He's leaving tomorrow for the meeting."

"Wow! P'Arthit is soo cool!" Nai's eyes were filled with admiration and Kongpob felt soo proud.

"He is," a mumble left his lips and Nai gave him a sly smile. Patting his back as they walked back home.

When the two stepped into the house Kongpob shivered as he came face to face with Maya. Her face was blank as always as she stared at him, something told Kongpob that she needed to talk with him.

"Come to my room," Maya stated bleakly. Once Kongpob nodded his head she turned around and walked upstairs.

"P'Kong," Nai's turned to face his brother who offered him a small smile.

"I'll be fine. Go to your room, ok?" Patting Nai on his back he handed his bag to the younger before making his way to Maya's room.

As he took each step to the elder's room his heartbest raised, thinking of all the possibilities of what Maya had to talk to him. He gulped, staring at Maya who had her back turned towards him once he stepped into the room.

"Bpâa?"

Maya turned around, signalling him towards the chair in the room as she walked towards the bed to seat herself. "Come sit."

"Did you get the transfer certificates?" Maya enquired once Kongpob took a seat.

Kongpob nodded his head, "It will be ready by next week, Bpâa."

The younger felt nervous as he watched Maya take a deep breath before staring back at him, "Look, Kongpob. You're going to get married in a few months. You'll have another family and that'll be your home from then."

Kongpob could only nod his head at what the elder was trying to imply to him.

"As we know, your Lung is very attached to you. Obviously, when you leave, he will be the one who's going to miss you dearly. So it's time you begin to distance yourself from him."

The younger's eyes widened. He wasn't expecting that.

Maya continued as if she didn't notice how hurt Kongpob looked, "When your Lung goes out, Nai can also give him his scarf, right? After you'll be gone he'll be the one to take care of us."

"Yes Bpâa," the younger nodded obediently, holding his emotions.

"And Kongpob, clear out your books and stuff from the shelf in the room you share with Nai. Select the ones you want to take along, the rest of them we'll dispose it off."

Maya sighed, staring right into the younger's eyes. "Nai needs more space to himself in the room."

"Kharp Bpâa," Kongpob didn't waste any more time as he stood up, waing at Maya after the elder signalled him to leave.

When he reached his room he met with Nai's concerned gaze, but he just smiled back at him. Dismissing him as he told Maya just wanted to know about his transfer certificates and moving his things from the room.

"By the way, Nai. I want you to give the scarf to Lung today." Kongpob nonchalantly announced as he walked towards the cupboard. It was past 6 in the evening, it was time for Decha's evening walk.

"Why are you asking me to give the scarf to Por?" Nai clutched his palms on either side, his gaze hard on Kongpob who was taking out the neatly folded scarf from the shelf. He knew something had definitely happened between Maya and Kongpob.

"Because I wish you would," Kongpob smiled walking back towards the younger.

"No!" Nai shook his head. " It's because Mae wishes to! P'Kong you're getting married, fine! But that doesn't mean you must break all bonds you have here!"

Kongpob could only stare down at his hands, caressing the scarf that he held, letting Nai let out his frustration.

"This is not your home anymore, that's what Mae is implying, isn't she!?"

Nai saw how Kongpob's breath hitched but his brother was smart at covering it up. He felt the anger boil in him as Kongpob looked back at him with a tight smile.

"It's not like that, Nai. You'll be the one taking care of all these after I'm gone. So I want you to do this now."

"Yes! But that's after you're gone! Why now?" Nai glared at the elder.

Kongpob chuckled, he caressed Nai's hair, trying to calm the younger. "Because while I'm still here, I want my Nai to pick up everything from me. I want you to learn it from me."

"Take this now, Lung might be waiting for this. It's time for his walk." Kongpob placed the scarf on Nai's hand. He turned around, acting as if he had things to do.

He heard Nai let out a frustrated sigh before marching out of the room. Tears streamed down his face as silent sobs left his lips.

"P'Aran!" Arthit waved his hands enthusiastically, excited like a child as he pushed on his luggage cart.

"Uncle Thit! Here"

Arthit shook his head, chuckling at his nephew as he waved back at the jumping boy.

The excitement in him that weaved its way through him was unexplainable, . He was proud of himself, he was proud to come back, after achieving what he was sent for. To see the wide smile on his father's face, who stood beside Aran, waving at him, he was content. Knowing he gave David the chance to be proud of his son.

Arthit halted on his steps, eyes wide as he suddenly stopped walking. A yelp escaped his lips when the person behind him bumped into his back.

"Watch out," the passenger narrowed his gaze. Frowning as he passed by when the other didn't apologize to him.

Arthit blinked, eyes searching for the familiar figure he got a glimpse from between the crowd. Was that my hallucination?

"Arthit!"

The younger blinked, turning his gaze at Neen who was signalling for him to walk forward. His eyes widened when he saw Decha among the crowd, smiling wide at him.

As he made his way back to the small group of people who had come to welcome him Arthit's eyes kept searching for that one person. A voice in his mind told him that the other was present with him but his eyes betrayed his thoughts. He started to doubt his vision, claiming he might have missed the younger male soo much that he imagined seeing the other among the crowd.

"Congratulations, my son!" David engulfed his son in a bone-crushing hug as soon as he was standing in front of him.

"I'm soo proud of you, Oon. I'm soo proud of you."

Arthit smiled, hugging his father tighter. "Thank you, Pa."

Pulling away David placed a tight kiss on Arthit's forehead, humming as he let the people at their company who had arrived to congratulate Arthit pass bouquets to the younger male.

"Thank you, everyone." Arthit sincerely smiled, nodding his head at their staff.

Turning around he faced his fiance's Uncle, who was smiling broadly at him. Eyes whelmed with pride and happiness."Uncle Decha."

Decha stepped forward, patting the other's shoulder who waied at him, "Congratulations, Arthit. We're soo proud of you."

Arthit hugged the latter, surprising Decha but the elder soon recovered, feeling warm at the other's gesture. When they pulled away Arthit slipped towards Aran while Decha was pulled by David who was asking the staff to arrive at the Rojnapath residence.

"P'Aran, did Uncle arrive alone?" Arthit asked, whispering as he leaned towards him.

"Yes," Aran smirked, holding in his laughter as he saw the face fall. "Were you expecting someone else, Oon?"

"Uh-No! No!"

Aran covered his mouth, not wanting to laugh out hard to get anyone's attention on him.

"Ok-Ok!" David clapped his hand. "Let's go back home! We've to celebrate this!"

When they were at the parking lot Arthit was busy thanking everyone again and talking with the few employees of the company who were there while Aran was placing the luggage inside the back of the car.

Neen and Aran stole glances at eachother, sly smiles on their lips as they chuckled. They immediately turned silent when Arthit walked towards them after bidding goodbye to everyone. David, Decha and Ryan had got on the other car, already making their way to the Rojnapath bungalow, exclaiming they should be there to set the things for the celebration.

"Get in, Arthit." Aran nonchalantly walked over to the driver's seat.

Arthit nodded his head, opening the backdoor to get inside. His shoulders slumped and lips formed a pout as he turned towards the window, staring out of it. His mind was occupied with thoughts as soon as there weren't anything else for him to do. He just wants to reach home fast, make a call to his fiance and ask why he didn't join Decha to Bangkok.

Arthit's eyes widened the next moment when he heard a familiar giggle. He snapped his gaze to the side, lips parted in a gasp as his eyes met those charcoal orbs he had been yearning to meet.

"K-Kong!"

Arthit blinked, gasping as he stared at the laughing male in front of him. He couldn't take his eyes off from the male, those deep black eyes staring back at him in amusement, lips stretched in a wide enchanting smile that never failed to flutter his heart. Is he dreaming?

"You can touch him to find out if he's real, Oon."

Arthit choked on his breath, turning his face towards Neen and Aran who had occupied the seats at the front. The smirk on Neen's face was a confirmation for him.

"Oh my!" The young man couldn't help but exclaim as he launched himself on his fiance who caught him in his welcoming arms.

Arthit buried his face into the crook of the other's neck, inhaling the familiar scent of lilac."I missed you!"

"I missed you too, P'Arthit," Kongpob giggled, feeling Arthit's breath tickle his skin. "And, Congratulations!"

"Thank you," Arthit couldn't stop smiling as he pulled away, staring into those magnetic eyes that held him in place. He felt at home being in the embrace, the slightly flushed cheeks of the younger rising butterflies in the pit of his stomach.

Aran cleared his throat, "Spare us, will you?"

Kongpob immediately broke their gaze, a shy smile on his lips as he stared down at his lap. Biting his lips when the elder intertwined their fingers.

"I still can't believe this! When did Kongpob arrive!? When did you guys plan this!?"

Aran laughed as he started to drive, Neen who sat beside him patted his shoulder.

"Credit goes to your dear brother! It was his idea to bring Kongpob and Uncle Decha over here." Neen laughed when Arthit gasped behind her, launching one arm around Aran from the backseat as he placed a tight kiss on his cheek.

"I love you, bro!"

"Uh-Uh!" Aran dismissed the kind of affection his brother was giving him but the smile on his lips hadn't faltered.

When they got the news that Arthit had got the desl signed and will be arriving back to Thailand sooner than expected, the first thing Aran did after announcing it to David was to call Decha and ask him whether he and Kongpob could join in welcoming Arthit back home.

"Now sit properly if you don't want to get into any accidents," Aran playfully glared at his brother.

Arthit leaned back on his seat, eyes on the younger male beside him who was trying to control his laughter. The sight made the elder smile wider, showing off his dimples.

"And one more thing, Pa is throwing a party at home, to congratulate you. And since Kongpob is here for the first time, we'll be introducing him to everyone too."

Arthit nodded at Aran, the ride turning silent the next second. He turned to face his fiance who was looking back at him, those tender eyes making his heart melt into a puddle.

"Thank you for coming, Kong." Arthit stroked the back of the younger's palm, bringing it close to his lips to land a soft kiss. "I can't wait to show you around."

"My son has brought this achievement on his own merit. The joy you see on his face is nothing but the reflection of my heartfelt joy," David pulled Arthit closer to him, arms over his shoulder as he smiled wide at the guests who were present at the huge backyard of the Rojnapath bungalow. Being a part of the small party he threw in for his son.

David glanced at Neen who stood a little away, he nodded his head. Signalling his daughter-in-law.

"And I would like to add that this success of his, to his joy, the credit goes to someone else." Winking David stretched his hand forward, asking Kongpob who was standing beside Decha at the side to walk up to them.

"This amazing person is visiting us for the first time. I introduce my son's fiance, Kongpob Suttilak to all of you!"

Huge rounds of applause blended into the open space as Kongpob walked up the stage, reaching to stand between the son and father.

Arthit unconsciously, as if it was common for them, slipped his hand around the younger's slender waist. Startling Kongpob for a second before he relaxed into the hold. Kongpob felt his nerves calming as Arthit softly caressed his back, as if understanding what the younger was feeling.

David kept praising the couple, proudly announcing how blessed he was to have Kongpob as his son-in-law soon.

Kongpob felt overwhelmed with the attention he received. Being titled as the new member of the Rojnapath family, a lot of people expressed their happiness and respected him. Exclaiming to the fact of how lucky he is to get into the family. All the while Arthit stood by his side, as a shield, hand never leaving his waist.

As they were seated to have snacks Arthit kept glancing at Neen who sat opposite to him. When his sister-in-law's gaze landed on him he smiled wide. Neen could only roll her eyes at him before turning towards David.

"Pa, how about giving Kongpob a house tour before they leave?"

Neen glanced at Arthit who smiled brightly at her as she asked David who was immersed in his talk with Decha.

David nodded his head, signalling to go forward with it. "Sure."

Neen and Aran giggled as they watched Arthit stand up excitedly, nudging Kong to follow him, who obediently walked along with the latter into the house. Once they stepped into the house Neen couldn't help but let out a chuckle, watching Arthit take Kongpob's hand and run inside.

Arthit opened the door to his room in elation, happiness bubbling in him he pulled the younger along with him into the massive bedroom.

"After our wedding, this is going to be our room!"

Kongpob was in awe as he looked around the large room. He had seen such rooms in magazines and TVs but seeing them in front of his eyes hit differently. The place wasn't extravagant but it held the class of the family and the modern touch to it.

The room was large, with a balcony attached to it, a patio outside. The room had a set of sofa and coffee table at one end. The large, king-sized bed in the centre. A few plants in the corner. The late afternoon light passed through the balcony's glass door spreading his yellow hue on the room.

"Did you like it here?" Arthit smiled as he watched Kongpob walk around, gazing at everything in the room.

"The room is soo big."

The elder couldn't help but chuckle at the innocent reply of his fiance. "Yeah, it is. Now that you'll be here with me after a few weeks, I won't feel soo small in this room."

Kongpob bit the inside of his cheek, trying to stop himself from smiling. The way he felt goosebumps with the elder's words and the fluttering of his heart made him realise, Arthit had already seen him as a part of the family. That his presence was important to the latter.

His eyes fell on the high table at the side of the bed. His lips parted in surprise as he took hurried steps towards it. Blinking he felt his hands tremble and lip quiver, trying to hold in his emotions.

Arthit smiled, walking towards the younger he wrapped his arm around the latter's waist. Hugging him from the back, he rested his chin on Kongpob's shoulder.

"I took those pictures when we were in Doi Ang Khang."

A trembling smile made its way on Kongpob's lips as his eyes traced the portraits of Decha, Maya and Nai, in frames beside the portraits of Arthit's family that laid on the table.

"Since you'll be here I wanted to make you feel at home. I know it isn't much but I have the photos of my family here, now that you're a part of my life your family is mine too. I felt we should have Uncle, Aunty and Nai's photos here. You know Kong, sometimes I think-"

Arthit halted, he turned the younger around to face him after feeling the other turn silent and unresponsive. Concern filled his eyes as his gaze landed on the pooling orbs of the younger.

"Hey, what happened?"

Kongpob shook his head, smiling. "It's nothing."

Arthit raised his eyebrows, he bit his lips, watching Kongpob wipe his tears and let his wide smile stretch across his lips. As if he wasn't thinking about anything else. Kongpob held Arthit's hand, enthusiasm returning on his features.

"Leave that aside. So, what were you thinking?" The younger tilted his head, smiling wide as always. But now Arthit could see through the younger, Kongpob was definitely not telling him something.

"Must we always talk about what I think and what I feel?" The smile on Kongpob's lips faltered at the elder's words.

"What you think and feel is also vital, Kong." The elder reached over to hold the younger's face between his palms.

"We're companions, Kong. Partners, it's not only about one person. You and I are equally important."

Kongpob let his tears fall, but a small smile crept up his lips. He felt calm, just being in the other's arms made him feel free from his thoughts, even though it's temporary.

"Today, while being with everyone and Lung beside me, I felt soo emotional. The remarks of me being the Rojnapath son-in-law made me realise once again that I'll be leaving Chiang Mai, leaving Lung, Bpâa and Nai. It's just overwhelming."

The younger took a deep breath, his gaze casted down. "And the reminder that we're soon going to be married, going to be husbands, overwhelms me. I-I never thought of getting a life like this, to have you and such a warm family. I-It just feels surreal."

Arthit stroked Kongpob's cheek, his eyes soft as he gazed at the younger. Raising the other's chin so as to stare into those beautiful charcoal eyes.

"Kong, I brought you here to show you the new changes I made in this room, my new writing table, new cupboard, everything. But, all of these without the thought that you'll be leaving your home, your room, even your surname behind for my sake..."

The elder leaned in to place a tight kiss on Kongpob's forehead, "For our sakes."

Arthit pulled away, smiling when he saw Kongpob's lips stretch into a blooming smile, his face lighting up.

"I have decided! Every year, we'll spend one month in Chiang Mai! If anyone ridicules me for living with my in-laws I don't care!"

Kongpob giggled as he watched the other express his new decision. He knew Arthit will keep his word, he know the elder meant it. And he was lucky, lucky to have a man like Arthit in his life.

"Can you imagine what will happen when you arrive to marry me?" Kongpob rested his hand on the elder's chest as Arthit pulled him closer.

Arthit tilted his head, "What?"

"The neighbours most likely won't have meals to eat, P'Arthit."

"And why is that so?" A smirk formed on the elder's lips as he spotted Kongpob's lips forming a pout as he gazed up at him.

"Everyone will be at their doors, staring at the arriving groom. With those dreamy eyes." Kongpob puffed his cheeks when he heard Arthit laugh.

"Someone's jealous," the elder couldn't help but steal a kiss from his pouting fiance.

Kongpob's eyes turned wide, "P'Arthit!"

"Kongpob! It's time to go!"

The couple turned to the closed door, hearing Neen's voice behind it, followed by a knock.

"Yes, P'Neen!" Kongpob immediately pulled away, turning to walk away.

"Wait!" Arthit caught the younger's hand, surprising him. "Two more minutes please, P'Neen!"

"Ok, make it quick."

"How much will they talk?" Arthit chuckled as he heard his nephew's voice from the other side.

Once the footsteps disappeared Arthit pulled Kongpob in his arms, arms secure around the slender waist.

"My heart knows I don't want to let you go. I want to show you around Bangkok, go places with you, but we'll wait. Wait a little longer so I'll have all rights to take you around, proudly announcing that, this beautiful man is mine."

Kongpob closed his eyes, leaning on Arthit's touch as the elder traced the side of his face with his long fingers.

"On the night we'll be here as husbands, our first night together in this room, the moon and stars in the sky will come down to witness our union. I promise you, Kong, I'll treasure you. Treat you as my better half, treat you like the king you're."

Arthit leaned in, burying his face into the silky locks of the younger. Feeling calmness wash over him.

"Am I really going to be the lucky one to who you'll be gifting your days and nights?" He took a deep breath, feeling Kongpob tremble in his arms, clutching tight onto his shirt.

"Know that we're one, Kongpob Suttilak. This is home to me."

****

Wide smile bloomed on Arthit's lips as he finally got the sight of his fiance who had walked into the premises of the temple along with the others.

"Someone is no more sleepy."

Arthit scratched the back of his neck as Neen gave him a teasing smile.

"Get yourself together, Arthit. By tomorrow he's all yours." Neen rushed towards Kongpob before her brother-in-law could whine and shout at her for teasing him.

"P'Neen!"

Aran laughed beside him, "She's gonna have a great time teasing you."

"Tame your wife P'Aran," Arthit pouted, puffing his cheeks.

"Oh sorry, I'm afraid that won't happen, Oon."

Arthit rolled his eyes, "You're soo whipped."

"Look at the one who's saying this, as if you're not, my little brother."

Arthit blushed, "P'Aran! You-"

"P'Arthit Kharp."

Arthit blinked, immediately turning towards the source of the voice. His lips stretched wide, dimples in display as he watched the younger male walk up to him, clad in simple traditional clothes, just like he was.

"Yes, Kong?"

Kongpob smiled back as wide as the elder, coming over to stand to his side. "We have to go in now, coming with me?"

"Of course!"

Kongpob giggled at the other's excitement, the sparkle in the elder's eyes made him feel butterflies. Nudging their shoulders he walked ahead.

"Whipped." Arthit stuck his tongue out at Aran who whispered in his ear teasingly.

Aran laughed, shaking his head as he watched Arthit jog up to Kongpob, a hand immediately making its way on the younger's waist, holding him close.

"They're gonna be worse than us."

Aran chuckled at his wife's remark, he held her close. "I'm happy for them. They remind me of us, at our newly wedded times."

"Aran! Neen! Let's go!"

"Coming Pa!" Wrapping his arms around Neen, they followed the elders into the temple.

Arthit followed Kongpob everywhere he had gone, praying when the younger prayed, kneeling in front of the Buddhist statue when the younger did, standing beside him with a warm smile on his face when the younger talked to the monks. He just stood beside and walked along with Kongpob everywhere, along with the elders that followed them.

"Now it's time to take blessings from the monks." Decha voiced out at the couple, he guided the couple to the centre of the temple hall, where the nine monks have taken their seats, offerings and flowers placed at their sides.

Kongpob smiled at the Arthit, signalling with his eyes to kneel in front of the monks. Arthit nodded his head as he followed Kongpob's actions. Sitting on his knees in front of the monks while their family members who had arrived by the time had gathered at either side, away from the area the ritual was taking place.

"Sleepy?" Kongpob whispered, eyeing the elder who was trying to keep in his yawn.

"A little," Arthit chuckled, holding his hands in front of his chest in a prayer posture as he stared at the monks who started to recite harmonious prayers.

"Just hang in there until tomorrow, you can sleep in after that. I won't wake you up," Kongpob giggled at his own words, closing his eyes as he prayed, biting down his lips to stop the smile that threatened to form on his lips as he felt a strong gaze on the side of his face.

Arthit clutched his palms tighter, smiling wide like a teenager in love as he stole glances at Kongpob. The younger had just casually said those words, implying that they'll be together, as a married couple, by the next day. God! Kongpob!

They had to wake up early in the morning, early as in at almost 5 am. And Arthit after a long time saw the sunrise from the hotel bedroom they were staying at. He was too sleepy when he, Aran and David had arrived at Kongpob's house to make merits with the monks who were doing their morning alms rounds. After that was done they got back to the hotel, changing their clothes to visit the temple after two hours.

Arthit did feel tired with all the rituals. He was glad that these were performed on separate days. He had heard from his friends that some of them used to perform the temple rituals on the day of the wedding and it's too tiring as one has to wake up early in the morning and will only get to sleep at night after the wedding functions.

Arthit is soo glad that he doesn't have to face that, he can take a good nap after the rituals are over for the day. The bachelor's party is only in the evening.

"Move forward, sons," David instructed the couple from the side.

Kongpob and Arthit scooted closer to the monks. The eldest monk blesses them with water, chanting prayers and blessings before the couple were asked to sit closer. A beautifully made cotton string forming two circles at the two ends was placed on the couple's head.

The string is draped from the Arthit's head to Kongpob's, connecting the couple.

"This string, the Sai monkhon is symbolic of retaining your individual identity while linking both of your destiny. It's believed to weave its way between both of your family and friends, connecting the two families in matrimony."

They waied at the monk as he explained the importance of the string on their heads. The monk then placed three dots, in the shape of a pyramid, on both of their foreheads using the sacred white paste placed beside them.

A white thread was then asked to be placed on Kongpob's joined palms, the same thread passed onto Arthit and the nine monks who were seated in front of them.

The sweet scent of incense fills the air and the unique sound of Buddhist chanting echoes through the temple.

The prayers continued for long before the Sai monkhon was removed from the couple's heads. The couple took the blessings from the monks, kneeling in front of them and waing. All their family members followed them outside the temple, where the feast for monks was arranged.

Once the monks were seated the grooms were asked to serve them. Arthit and Kongpob, with refreshed smiles on their faces served the nine monks, thanking them for their blessings and the time they had spent for them.

"We have to go back now. Some of our family members are yet to arrive, we have to be there when they reach the hotel." David gave an apologetic smile as they walked out of the temple premises, after completing the rituals.

"Don't worry, David. We understand, we're in a hurry too. There are a lot of things to be completed for tomorrow's wedding," Decha patted the other's shoulder.

Arthit glanced at Kongpob who was speaking to Ryan who was standing beside him. Talking about his favourite chocolates. Arthit's eyes fell on their intertwined hands, after they had served the monks Kongpob had held his hand, and till now neither of them made an attempt to pull away from eachother.

Arthit could see the emotions dancing in Kongpob as the rituals took place. When they made merits to Kongpob's parents later on, he saw how the latter teared up, yet a smile always lingered on his lips.

"Kong," Arthit nudged the younger's shoulder.

Kongpob raised his gaze, "Hmm?"

"We're leaving now, we have guests to welcome."

"Oh!" A pout formed on Kongpob's lips as he glanced at the elders who were talking about them going back to the hotel.

Kongpob's cheeks puffed up, absent-mindedly voicing out his thoughts,"Already?"

"It's been almost 5 hours since we're here, Kong." Arthit couldn't help but laugh when Kongpob's cheeks flushed. He glanced to check at Ryan who had walked away.

"You're adorable, my love."

"P'Arthit!" The younger's eyes widened as he whisper-yelled, he looked around trying to find if someone heard them.

A small yelp escaped from Kongpob when he was pulled to a side, under a shade, away from their family.

"P'Arthit! What are you doing?"

Arthit smiled wide, watching his adorable fiance look around panicked, blushing and lips parted in surprise. Wiggling in his arms as he pulled him closer.

"I want a kiss."

Kongpob snapped his gaze towards Arthit, eyes wide, feeling heat creep up from the base of his neck.

"P-P'Arthit."

The elder pulled Kongpob closer, the tip of their noses brushing. "I won't be able to see you till tomorrow. I need some energy from my dear finance."

"But-"

"Please~" Arthit tilted his head, hazel eyes innocently staring at the younger male. A small pout on his lips.

Kongpob gulped, he bit his inner cheek, his toes curled with how intense and tenderly Arthit was staring at him, pleading him with his eyes.

"Please, my love."

Kongpob checked on either side, trying to spot if anyone was seeing them. When he found that the coast was clear, he turned to face the elder, his heart pounding in his chest. He gulped as his eyes fell on the soft rosy lips of the elder male.

"It's fine if you don't want t-Hmmph!"

Arthit grinned, feeling Kongpob's lips on his. He cupped the younger's cheek, pulling him closer as he kissed him back. Kongpob clutched onto Arthit's shirt, eyes shut tight as he responded to the kiss, tongues brushing each other's lips.

"Kongpob! Arthit!"

Arthit almost let out a cry when Kongpob pulled away absurdly, eyes wide and cheeks blushing mauve.

"I-I have to go!" Without sparing the elder male a second glance Kongpob ran away, almost tripping on his way making Arthit let out a small laugh.

He cursed his sister-in-law for ruining the moment but right now his heart was fluttering, butterflies dancing in his stomach as he savoured the taste of Kongpob's lips that still lingered in him. He has got the best motivation!

Kong gripped on the frame of the door. His eyes nervously fixed on Maya who was reading her book, on the bed. Taking a deep breath he knocked on the door before entering the room. As always Maya didn't even raise her eyes to look at him and despite it being a usual occurrence to him, Kongpob felt his chest tighten.

"Bpâa," his voice was soft, almost weak as he stood in front of her. Desperation in his eyes when the latter just nodded her head.

Stepping forward he placed the keys in his hand on the nightstand. "These are the keys of my cupboard, Bpâa. There is many things in there that Nai can use later."

Kongpob gulps, trying to let the smile on his face linger even though Maya didn't make any attempt to look at him. A shaky breath left his lips as silence prevailed.

"Bpâa, if I ever had done anything to hurt you, p-please forgive me."

He bit his lips, turning around absurdly. Not wanting to let his tears fall in front of Maya, he doesn't want to let his cries be heard. It wasn't new for him but he wished, he hoped for once Maya would acknowledge him. Accept him before he leaves the house forever, before he walks away from the family the next day.

"Kongpob."

The younger's steps halted. Hope filled his eyes as he turned around. A small smile stretched across his lips.

"Close the door when you leave."

The smile on his face fell, staring at the nonchalant figure of Maya his heart sank. A wrenching pain filled in him. Gulping down a sob he walked out of the room, softly closing the door before running away to his bedroom.

Closing the door with a thud he slumped on the bed. His fingers gripped the sheet as he let his tears fall. His chest heaved in controlled sobs and cries, he doesn't want anyone to hear him cry.

The whole house was filled with chatters and laughter, wedding preparations and busy orders being shouted at the workers. Even the neighbourhood was being a part of it, songs and dances being performed by the kids and young adults. The pre-wedding celebration was going on full swing with all the family members and neighbours, even though it has been past 8 in the night.

He doesn't want anyone to hear him cry and spoil the mood of the function. Everyone was happy, laughing and enjoying the night. Even Decha and Nai are celebrating. But here he was, trying to get Maya to talk to him, or at least smile at him for once. Maya hadn't joined in any of the functions. Not even when he and Arthit had gone to take blessings from the monks and offer prayers to his parents. It's hard to put a face of happiness when the person he expects to bless him and smile at him doesn't even want to see his face.

"Kong, son! Why are you in your room? Everyone is searching for-"

Kongpob gasps as he stands up, immediately wiping his tears away and controlling his sobs he averts his gaze from his uncle who walked into the room.

"Kong?" Decha raised his eyebrows, confused and concerned as he stared at his nephew. Stepping inside the room he closed the door behind.

Reaching up to the shaking male in front of him he placed his hand on his shoulder.

"Son, what happened? Are you ok?"

All the tears and whimpers that Kongpob had held in broke at the tender voice of the elder. His shoulders shaked violently as he raised his eyes to meet the concerned gaze of Decha.

"L-Lung," a strained whisper left his lips as he launched himself on the elder, clutching onto his neatly done white shirt, soaking it with his tears as he hugged him.

Decha was stunned, gasping as he held his sobbing nephew in his arms. He wrapped his arms around him, caressing his hair and back as he rocked him.

"Shh... don't cry, my boy." Decha planted a soft kiss on his forehead.

"Everyone is happy for your wedding, all are enjoying downstairs. I even spoke to David a few minutes back, he told me that their party at the hotel is going on full swing and Arthit is restless, he can't wait to tie the knot with you, Kong." Decha smiled, caressing Kongpob's hair. He doesn't know what made the younger a mess at the moment but he wanted to cheer him up, knowing that how happy everyone is for him.

"But look here, the groom itself is crying alone in his room." The elder chuckled, pulling away softly. He frowned when the younger didn't even raise his head to meet his eyes.

Sighing he cupped Kongpob's face. Raising his face. A strained smile made its way on Kongpob's lips as he tried to not worry his uncle. But he knew, the latter could see through him.

"What happened, son?" David wiped the younger's tears, concern morphing his face.

Kongpob's lips trembled, "I-It's nothing, Lung."

"It's not nothing. Are you lying to me now, Kong?"

The younger gulped, shaking his head hesitantly as he stared at his softly smiling uncle.

"I-I just-" a whimper left his lips as he tried to suppress the sobs.

"I just want to see Bpâa happy."

Decha's eyes widened, he doesn't know how to react to Kongpob's worry. Maya's disappointment towards everything that was going on was evident, Decha knew it. But he didn't have any choice other than to push the thoughts away and continue doing his duty.

"Did she say something?" Decha's jaw clenched.

Kongpob shook his head, "N-No she didn't. I-I just wanted to talk to her, seek her blessings. But I don't think she'll ever look at me or even talk to me. It hurts, Lung."

Decha pulled the younger in his arms, embracing him in his tight hold. Kongpob's shaking body in his arms was making his lips tremble.

"I want her to be there for my wedding, Lung."

The elder closed his eyes, the pain in his nephew's voice was aching his heart. He could only hold Kongpob in his arms, assuring everything will be fine. He can't give any promises to the latter. He knows his wife, if Maya takes a decision she would never waver from her stand.

"I'm sorry, Kong. I'm sorry that Lung is helpless here. Please don't cry, son. Tomorrow is a big day for you, stay happy."

Pulling away Decha placed his hands on the younger's shoulder, a weak smile gracing his lips as he stared at his nephew. The bloodshot eyes and the tear-stained face are the last things he wanted Kongpob to be seen in.

"Everyone is happy for you, son. Nai, me, our family, even Khun Chai is here for you. I know Maya is someone who you keep close to your heart, you want her to be happy but you should give priority to your feelings too, Kong."

"Your happiness matters the most." Decha leaned in to place a soft kiss on the younger's forehead.

"Now, give me a smile." He patted the other's cheek playfully making Kongpob let out a chuckle.

Decha smiled, "Now, get some rest. I'll inform our guests that you have gone to bed. Tomorrow is a big day, my child."

Kongpob nodded his head, smiling. "Thank you, Lung."

"You're my son too, Kong. And I'm going to miss you soo much."

Caressing the younger's hair Decha smiled, giving Kongpob a final hug he reminded the other to get proper sleep. Sharing a final smile Decha walked out of the room, the laughter and noises of the guests and family members filling his ears once again.

Taking a deep breath he took a glance at the closed door, his breathing sharpened as he made his way to his room. He should talk with Maya, for Kongpob's sake. He can't let his nephew leave the house the next day with tears and disappointment in Maya's absence.

His steps halted as he stood in front of his bedroom door. Taking a deep breath, calming his nerves he stepped inside. His eyes filled with worry when he saw his wife leaning forward, massaging her knees as she sat on the bed.

"What happened? Is your knee paining again?" Decha walked towards his wife, giving a soft smile, which Maya didn't acknowledge.

Sighing he walked towards the nightstand, taking the small bottle of balm he handed it towards Maya, "Massage it with the balm."

Maya raised her gaze to her husband. Her jaw clenched as she continued to massage her leg with her hand. She heard Decha sigh before placing the balm back on the nightstand and taking a seat beside her.

"How long are you going to be like this, Maya?"

Decha couldn't hold it in anymore, the lack of response from his wife angered him.

"When Kongpob's wedding attires were brought you didn't show any interest in taking a look at it, and I didn't voice out anything about it. You didn't participate in any of the wedding rituals, I said nothing."

"But tomorrow, Kong will be leaving us. Leaving this house forever, Maya."

Maya frowned, keeping her gaze fixed on her leg.

"Tomorrow the Rojnapath family is going to arrive here, step into our house and we'll be sending off Kong with them." Decha reached over to place his hand on her shoulder.

"Please give Kong a memorable farewell, Maya. He won't step out of this house in happiness if you won't be there beside him."

"Maya, just as much as I know, you know that if he is denied of your blessings he won't be stepping out of this house in happiness. It won't be a happy departure for him."

Decha's jaw clenched. The silence from Maya was testing his temper, but he don't want to cause any more drama by his outburst.

"For once, Maya, please forget everything for the sake of Kong's happiness."

"Let him start his new journey with the belief that his mother has blessed him."

Maya turned her face away, closing her eyes as she tried to control her emotions. She doesn't dare to utter a word, because she knows that if she starts it won't end in favour of both of them.

"All his life he had yearned for a single smile of yours, Maya. If it's for the child's joy, even if we do it despite the fact that we don't like it, we won't lose face, because it's for our children. We're their parents."

Decha pulled his hand away from her, the softness held in his eyes replaced with disturbing anger, "Why such resentment, Maya?"

"Is it because he isn't your son!?"

Maya's gaze snapped at her husband, her eyes wide with rage as he glared back at him.

"Better you do not hear my answer," Maya gritted her teeth. She stood up, intending to walk away so that the conversation ends but the ache in her legs stopped her from taking a step further.

Her jaw clenched when she heard Decha scoff behind her, "Remember Maya, whenever your knee was in pain it was always Kong who would massage it for you. Without any protest."

"Enough!" Maya turned to glare at the elder male.

Decha stood up absurdly, his hands clutched on either side. "Today you refuse to acknowledge him! But mind you, when he leaves tomorrow you'll be the one crying the most! Mark my words."

Maya let out heavy breaths as her eyes trailed on her husband, who walked away from the room. She closed her eyes, tension evident on her features as the slamming of the door echoed in her ears.

"Khun David had called me, their party had ended well. Everyone is excited for tomorrow. And he told me to convey his gratitude for arranging the hotel for them." Chai patted Decha's shoulder, smiling wide.

"I'm glad to hear that," Decha's forced smile didn't go unnoticed by Chai.

Chai's eyebrows furrowed, he could see that the other had something on his mind. The day was filled with celebration and wedding preparations but he hadn't seen the excitement and enthusiasm on Decha's face falter. And now watching the other give orders to the workers as they stood outside the house, remarking on the decorations he could see the worry in his friend's eyes.

"Hey, you fine?"

Decha shook his head, trying to give his best response. "It's nothing. I'm just thinking about tomorrow."

Chai offered an encouraging smile, "I understand. You don't have to worry, Kong will be in good hands."

"I'm positive about it, Khun Chai. I'm happy that Kong will be a part of the Rojnapath family. I can rest assured that he will be treated well."

Chai smiled, nodding his head. "And I can assure you both Arthit and Kong had fallen too deep for eachother, you could see it in their eyes."

A genuine wide smile graced Decha's face, "I know, right? Yesterday at the temple, I saw how much Arthit cares for Kong. It makes me happy to see them both-"

"Khun Decha!"

Decha turned around, finding Somsak running towards him. Face flushed red and sweating as he breathed heavily.

"What happe-"

"F-Fire! There's fire!"

Decha's eyes widened. Before he could react Chai ran past him, making his way inside the house. Decha soon followed, the screams and shouts of the people inside the house finally filling his ears.

"Everyone! Move out! Move out!" Chai shouted back, guiding all the family members outside the house along with Somsak.

Decha's breath caught in his throat, helplessly watching the fire catch the decorations and the wedding alter they had prepared for the next day. Different parts of the house were slowly getting consumed by the burning red flames.

"P'Decha!"

Decha was startled out of his stupor when he heard the voice of his wife. Immediately turning to the source of voice his hands trembled as he rushed towards the stairs, watching Maya run downstairs with their other family members, in between the flames that were catching on the rails of the stairs. His arms wrapped around Maya as he pulled her protectively in his embrace.

"How did all these happen?" Maya looked around, horrified at what she was watching.

"I-I don't know! Let's get out of here now!"

Maya bit her lips, watching the parts of the house getting burned was terrifying. She could only clutch onto her husband's hold as he walked her out of the house, all the other family members following them. Cries of fear echoed the place.

"Call the fire station!"

Decha doesn't know who was shouting at the moment, everything was too sudden and the cries of everyone wasn't helping either. He immediately approached Chai after keeping Maya safe with their relatives. His lips trembled as he stared at his house, burning down in front of him. People were trying their best to reduce the spread by splashing water.

His eyes roamed over the crowd, a sudden realisation dawning on him.

"Khun Chai!" Decha called out, fear evident in his voice as he turned to face the latter.

"Where is Kong and Nai!?"

"I-Oh god!" Chai's eyes widened, frantically checking around.

Everyone started to get alert, trying to search if the two were there among the crowd.

"Someone save the groom! You can't leave him there!"

Concern gulped them all, worried voices being murmured. Decha glanced at Maya who was crying already, staring back at him in fear.

He didn't waste a second as he made his way inside the house. Tuning out the voices that called out for him. The only thought in his mind was to save Kongpob as soon as possible.

"Oh god," Decha coughed as his eyes almost teared up with the intensity of the heat that was raising in the building. The fire had caught almost everywhere in the place.

Decha was thankful that the stairs hadn't caught in fire compared to the other parts of the house. He immediately made his way upstairs, towards Kongpob's room. His face and whole body sweating with the heat.

"Kongpob!"

Decha shouted, trying to check if Kongpob was in his room. His heart was pounding against his chest, the sputtering of the fire echoing in his ears.

"Lung!"

Relief washed over David when he heard Kongpob's voice. He could hear Kongpob's cries from inside, the younger male was stuck inside the room and the door has already caught fire.

"Stay back, Kong! I'm going to kick the door!"

Giving a few seconds for the younger male to move away Decha took a deep breath before he pushed the door with his leg, giving all his force into the kick.

"Kong!" A relieved sigh left Decha as his eyes met the concerned gaze of his nephew. Kongpob was fine, nothing had harmed him. That's all the assurance he needed.

As soon as the door broke Kongpob rushed out of the room, into the arms of his uncle. Panic was written all over his face as his eyes traced the paths the fire was catching.

"Let's go!" Decha wrapped his arms protectively around Kongpob, pulling him closer to him as they took hurried steps.

Kongpob covered his mouth and nose, coughing as he inhaled the smoke emitting from the fire. Tears clouded his eyes due to the burning heat. When he was finally out of the house he took a deep breath, chest heaving and face flushed. Before Decha had come to him, he had thought that he won't be able to get out of his room.

"Are you ok, Kong?" One of the relatives rushed to the younger's side, wrapping a protective blanket around him.

Kongpob could only nod his head, the panicked cries of the people around tensed him. His heart was still pounded fast against his chest, his heartbeat ringing in his ears as he stared at his home. The place he had grown up burning in front of his eyes.

"Where is Nai!?"

Kongpob snapped his attention towards Maya, who had her eyes wide as she rushed to Decha who was being given water to drink by Chai.

"Where is Nai!?" Maya clutched onto her husband's shoulder. Eyes brimming with tears.

Decha's eyes searched for his son's figure, "Nai? He might be someone here! Did you check?"

"No, he isn't!" Maya cried, her hold on Decha tightened before she pushed him. "Go find him!"

Kongpob panicked, his gaze at their house which was already being consumed by the fire. Stepping inside it once again would be dangerous.

"Khun Sonsak!" Kongpob called out, immediately stepping towards the elder male. "Did you see Nai?"

Somsak thought for a second before worry took over his expression as he shook his head, "I don't know, dear. The last time I saw him was when he had gone upstairs!"

Somsak's eyes widened when Kongpob turned around and sprinted away, into the burning house in front of them.

"Kong! No! Wait! Don't go!"

Decha gasped when his eyes caught his nephew's figure who ran past him. Eyes widening he immediately reached out to hold the younger but Kongpob had already run into the house.

"Kong! Where are you going!? Stop! Don't go!" Decha was about to follow Kongpob but others didn't allow him to, shouting at him to not get in danger too.

The firefighters were on their way but that doesn't mean they could let Decha get inside along with Kongpob. If something might happen they don't want to lose any of their family members.

Kongpob coughed, protecting himself with the blanket as he ran up the stairs. His chest was clenching as his eyes roamed over the house. The places he had grown up in, shared laughter and cries was burning in front of him, turning to ashes.

"Por! Mae!"

Kongpob's attention turned towards the disembodied scream. Gasping he made his way to Nai's room. The closed door was half-burned, he caught a glimpse of his brother, slumped on the bed. Clutching onto it as he coughed and leaned on the headboard. Face flushed and looking as if he was on the verge of losing consciousness.

"Nai!" Kongpob called out, trying to get Nai's attention. He kicked the door making it fall on the floor, into broken pieces.

Rushing up to the younger male he dropped his blanket over him, patting the younger's cheeks.

"Hey, don't faint on me. Nai, stay awake."

"P'Kong," Nai's eyes fluttered open, he coughed again but he was able to register his surroundings. He was suffocating with the amount of smoke that gathered inside the room.

"Nai, are you ok?" Kongpob slowly helped Nai to stand on his feet. They had to get out as soon as possible.

Nai nodded, coughing again. Clutching onto Kongpob's shirt he walked along with the elder male.

"Hold onto me, Nai. We have to get out."

"Nai! Where are you!?" Maya clutched her chest, tears flowing down her cheeks as she rushed towards the house.

"Maya! Stop! Don't go!" Other members of the family followed her, trying to get her out of the place. They can't lose Maya.

"Nai! Where are-"

Maya gasped, her eyes casted upstairs as she watched Kongpob protectively hold Nai in his embrace. Arms circled over the younger male as he walked him towards the stairs, despite the burning of fire all over the place.

Kongpob mumbled sweet noises to his brother as he guided him downstairs, once they were down his eyes fell on Maya who stood at the entrance of the house worried and in tears.

"Bpâa don't worry! Nai is fine! He's fine!" Kongpob gave an assuring nod as he held Nai tighter, finally walking down the stairs.

"Kongpob! No!"

Kongpob looked up as Maya screamed at him. His eyes widened, before anyone could comprehend what had happened Kongpob pushed Nai away. The burning rafters of the roof fell over him.

"Kong!"

"Excuse me? Who are Kongpob's parents?"

Decha rushed towards the doctor who stepped out of the ICU, his face drained out of colour, panic and fear were written all over him.

"Yes, doctor! How is Kong?"

The doctor cast concerned gazes at Decha and the few others who stood behind him. "I'm Dr Phana, please, you have to come with me."

Decha gulped as he watched Phana walk away, he bit his lips when Chai stepped towards him, wrapping an arm around his shoulder.

"Let's go, Decha."

The latter looked up, his lips trembled as Chai softly smiled back at him. He nodded his head, casting a glance at Nai who was silently shedding tears beside him, he patted his shoulder.

"Your brother is strong, Nai."

Nai nodded his head, sobbing as he clutched his palms together. He was feeling guilty, extremely guilty knowing that it was because of him Kongpob was inside the ICU at the moment. Just to protect him.

Decha knows that his son is blaming himself but he wasn't in the position to console the other, give encouraging words. He was broken too, knowing he had failed to protect his nephew. Decha's eyes searched for the familiar figure on the corridor. His breath hitched when he spotted Maya leaning on the wall at the end of the corridor, he could see her shoulders shaking.

"Decha, let's go." Chai nudged the latter, giving an encouraging pat on his back he supported the other to walk ahead.

Once they were inside the doctor's room Phana asked them to have a seat, the hard expression the doctor had held didn't go unnoticed by the other two.

"I'll come straight to the point." Phana rested his hands on the table. "The patient has approximately 40% superficial to deep burns. Third-degree burns included."

Decha gasped, he took a deep breath when Chai rubbed his back.

"Luckily, his face was untouched. There is a small burn in his forehead though but that can be treated with medicines."

Decha's lips trembled, "It's his wedding tomorrow, doctor."

"Look, Khun Decha," Phana let out a troubled sigh. "About half of his body is burned. The wounds are deep and will take a lot of time to heal, they're still fresh. A wedding tomorrow is out of the question."

"Forgive me for saying this but in such cases, even families abandon their own."

Phana glanced at the two males, "Let alone said for someone who promised to marry him."

Chai closed his eyes tight. It was hard to hear such words being voiced out. It was one of the fears that kept a hold on his and Decha's minds.

"Right now, your son is fighting for his life, Khun Decha. Tomorrow morning, we should take him into a major surgery."

Phana gave an apologetic look before he stood up. He understands the worries of the two but there's only little that he could do. The only aim in his mind at the point was to rescue his patient out of the high-risk zone.

"Now if you may excuse me, I have to discuss the case with my team."

Chai and Decha stayed in the room. Gathering their thoughts and feelings. Yet they couldn't let everything settle in them, it was too sudden. They were happy just hours ago and now it seems as if the powers above didn't want to shower their blessings on them.

"Decha," Chai turned towards the other male.

"We ought to inform them. I-I'll make a call."

Decha took a deep breath as he nodded his head. He stood up, following Chai outside the room. He silently watched as Chai take out his phone and dial David's number. He could only take a deep breath and wait to see what would be happening.

It was already past 2 in the morning, Decha's insides clenched in a painful hold knowing that the wedding rituals would have originally started after 5 more hours. All his dreams and hopes were shattered now, everything crumbled to dust, leaving him helpless.

"Khun David, I-I have something to inform you."

Decha's palms clenched on either side as he heard Chai speak, he immediately walked away. Realising he didn't have the strength to hear what Chai was going to speak. He doesn't want to hear anything, he doesn't want to hear those words he had been dreading on. Just thinking about what had happened hours ago made him choke on his breath.

"Por! What did the doctor say?" Nai rushed towards Decha, finding the latter walking up to the ICU door. He made Decha sit on the chair beside the room.

"P-Por," Nai called out, his voice trembling as he knelt in front of him. Clutching onto his hand.

"The wedding is not going to happen." Decha closed his eyes, letting the tears stream down his cheeks.

"K-Kong is fighting for his life. His burns are not to be taken lightly. The doctor said they have to perform major surgery."

Nai gasped, his trembling lips parted. Sobs escaped his lips. He laid his head on Decha's lap, letting his cries escape his lips. The pain that was clutching over his system was more painful than the small burns that were treated on his body. Nothing could be compared to the pain he was feeling, knowing Kongpob is suffering because of him.

"Stop blaming yourself, Nai. Kong won't like it." Decha caressed Nai's hair. His voice broke as he tried to talk, eventually, he stayed quiet. Letting the silence fill the air despite the chaos that was taking place inside him.

The sight of Kongpob, with burned clothes, unconscious in his arms clouded in his mind. The fire force had arrived by the time they had called the ambulance to take Kongpob in. The hospital staff had immediately torn the younger's clothes, replacing them with lots of bandages that the sight broke Decha inch by inch. Even in his unconscious mind Kongpob had only mumbled Nai's name, asking if he was fine even though he couldn't register the replies others were giving him.

Kongpob was immediately rushed into the ICU when he was brought to the hospital. Almost two hour of being inside the ICU the doctor had walked out and asked Decha for the talk.

Kongpob's laughter and smiles, joy and happiness, everything was being snatched away. Decha knows it. This will only create new wounds on Kongpob, the younger male's happiness was torn away.

Decha didn't know anymore what he should do. The only image in his mind was the sight of Kongpob, breathing heavily in his arms. Burned, crying.

"Khun Decha."

Decha blinked, coming out of his stupor. He stood immediately when he noticed the nurse who stood infront him. He realised he hadn't noticed Chai and Maya standing beside him and Nai all these while, until now when his eyes met theirs.

"We're getting ready for the surgery, one of you can meet Kongpob if you want to." The nurse offered an encouraging smile.

Nai turned to his father, tugging on his shirt. "Por, go."

Decha nodded his head, mustering his courage. Despite what happened he wanted to see his nephew, apologize to him for not being able to rescue him on time. He wanted to see Kongpob.

"Can-can I see P'Kong too? Just, from far?" Nai's uncertainty made the nurse look at him in pity. The pure innocence and despair emitted by the younger male clenched the nurse's heart.

"Ok, please wait. I'll let you guys in once Khun Decha is inside."

A small smile formed on Decha's lips when he saw Nai's eyes lightened up at what the nurse had said.

Decha glanced at his wife who didn't dare to look up at him. Sighing he followed the nurse. The thudding of his heart against his chest echoed in his ears as he was made to wear the cover gown and mask before he was able to step into the room his Kongpob was at.

"Please," the nurse guided Decha to step into the room.

Decha's jaw clenched, his palms held in a tight fist on either side at the sight of his nephew. Laying flat on the bed, with a nasal cannula attached to him, under the covers, the area up to his neck covered with bandages.

The elder's eyes whelmed up in tears, blurring his vision. He blinked his tears away as he took steps closer to the younger male. As each second passed there was a throbbing pain in his chest, a lump forming in his throat at the sight of his nephew.

Kongpob's face had lost its colour, looking pale and wan. Lips dry and parted softly to breathe. His face scrunching in pain from time to time.

Decha's trembling hands raised as he reached to caress the other's hair. Kongpob's eyes fluttered open at the contact, the once blank eyes filled with concern when he met the form of his uncle.

"L-Lung," Kongpob winced for a second "Is-is Nai fine?"

A sob escaped Decha's lips. He glanced at the glass door of the ICU, finding Nai and Maya standing behind it. Nai was already crying while Maya was biting down her lips, eyes fixed on Kongpob.

"Nothing happened to him, right?"

Decha turned his attention to Kongpob. He nodded his head, not trusting his voice in front of the younger.

A sigh left Kongpob's lips as he closed his eyes. His breathing was heavy as he mumbled back. "Tell Bpâa that nothing will hurt Nai, he'll be fine."

Decha broke into tears as he watched Kongpob mumble repeatedly as he slowly drifted into his unconscious stage. The nurse immediately asked Decha to walk out pointing out at Kongpob's weak state at the moment.

When Decha walked out of the ICU his steps halted, spotting Maya standing beside the door. Her face was stained with tears, hair dishevelled, eyes puffy.

"P'Decha," a soft whisper left her lips as she noticed her husband's presence. A heavy breath left her as she closed the distance between them.

Biting down her lips, controlling the sobs that were threatening to spill out she laid her head on Decha's shoulder.

"Didn't I tell you, Maya? You'll be the one crying the most today." A pained chuckle left Decha's lips, making no attempts to hold his wife.

"It was always his beauty that pained your eyes. It pained you soo much that you wouldn't even look at his face."

Maya shut her eyes, letting the controlled sobs escape her lips.

"Now look. He sacrificed his beauty and health for our son."

Maya's shoulders trembled with her cries. Decha pulled away from her, jaw clenched as he wiped his tears away.

"He sacrificed himself for Nai, Maya."

Nai could only watch from afar as his mother cried, letting her emotions out as Decha walked away.

"Please sign this" Phana handed the papers to Decha.

Chai gulped, staring back at Decha's concerned gaze."Kongpob will recover fully after the surgery, right Doctor?"

Phana sighed, "Right now, we can't give you any promises. It's a delicate case."

"There's more to recovery than the healing of wounds. In such cases, one loses their self-confidence. And the pains from the burn is unexplainable. No one among us can imagine the level of pain Kongpob is going through at this moment and will be after the surgery."

Decha closed his eyes feeling Nai's hold on his shoulder.

"Right now, we're all ready for the surgery. The complications are already informed to you all. We need your permission on this before we can proceed. It's a major surgery, Khun Decha." Phana turned to face the elder male, patting on his back.

"We'll try our best." The doctor could only assure Decha. "Take your time but we have to conduct the surgery as soon as possible."

Decha nodded his head, biting his trembling lips as he watched the doctor walk away from the corridor. His shoulders shook as he glanced back into the papers in his hands. His palms trembled at the thought of all the possibilities of what would be happening after the surgery rushed to his mind. It pained him, the image of Kongpob's helpless form clouding his senses.

"Uncle."

Decha's gaze snapped to the source of voice, a gasp left his lips as he stared right into the pair of hazel eyes.

"A-Arthit," Decha gulped as he stood up, giving a worried glance at Chai who looked puzzled.

Arthit smiled softly, taking a step forward. Holding Decha's hand in his. "I'll sign it, uncle."

"But-"

"I have the right to, don't you think so, uncle?" Arthit held the elder's hand in his. "Today is our wedding day, I'm his husband. I have the right to do this."

Decha's shoulders trembled, his chest heaving as he registered Arthit's words in his head. "But, Arthit, Kongpob is-"

"The wedding will happen today. No matter what the circumstances, uncle. A big function is not in need for this, our love is enough to create this bond."

A tight smile formed on Arthit's lips, his eyes glistened as the memories of his love's laughter, flushed cheeks and those warm, soft charcoal eyes that would stare back at him with soo much love and tenderness.

"Our emotions and feelings have already made their grip on us, the exchange of rings and other rituals are just an official confirmation, uncle. We're for eachother and that's not going to change. Kongpob is the only one for me."

Decha couldn't explain how happy and content he felt, hearing Arthit's words. But the reality was far away from all of it, he understands Arthit's love for Kongpob but right now, after knowing what Kongpob had gone through he's afraid of everything. He's afraid that in the long run, Arthit won't be able to stand everything. He doesn't want to hurt both of them, he doesn't want any one of them to feel guilty in the end.

"No, Arthit. Your emotions are far removed from reality. You'll not be able to see him in pain." A stuttering breath left his lips, he was afraid. All the hopes had drained out from him. He's content enough to know that despite all these Arthit had come to meet them.

"Decha."

The latter's eyes widened, staring at David who walked up to him. Face devoid of emotions as he approached him.

David bit his inner cheek, the sight of the helpless form of Decha was breaking him.

"The person who's on the hospital bed isn't only your son, Decha. Kong is my son-in-law too." David smiled as he heard the latter gasp at him. "And the Rojnapaths never back down from giving their all, to protect their family. Kong is already a part of our family, so is every one of you."

Decha's lips trembled, warm tears escaping his lips as David reached out to hug him.
"The best surgeon from Bangkok will be here soon. Kong's well being is our responsibility too, Decha."

Arthit sighed in relief, watching David assuring Decha. He turned to face Nai who had been standing beside Decha, without uttering a single word. Eyes puffed and looking tired. Small bandages on his forehead and hands. Arthit could only imagine how much hurt Nai might be feeling now, and the only thing he could do for Nai, who has become his little brother was to assure him, hold him. And that's what he did.

"P'Arthit," Nai sobbed harder into the elder's chest as Arthit pulled him into a hug.

He didn't expect the elder to talk to him, let alone hold him soo tight in his embrace. He thought the other would blame him for making Kongpob go through all these. That he would blame him for ruining the wedding.

Arthit bit his inner cheek, holding in his tears. "Your P'Kong will be fine, Nai. He's a very strong man."

Glancing up he met the warm gazes of the elders on him. He offered an assuring smile, even though he found it extremely hard to hold in his emotions, to stay calm, he had to do it. He had to do it for their family.

"Uncle, Can I meet Kong?"

Arthit's heart dropped as he stepped into the ICU room. His lips quivered as he stepped closer. A jolt of pain flashed through his body, feeling as if a hot, sharp knife was pierced through him. He know the pain he was feeling was nothing compared to what his fiance was experiencing now. And he felt an extreme clench in his chest knowing he could only watch Kongpob, he can't take the pain away from him.

Arthit bit his lips, taking sharp breathes through his nose as his eyes landed on the face of the younger male. Kongpob looked pale, eyes closed tight with trembling lips as eyebrows scrunched in pain. Low voices escaped the dry lips and Arthit could feel even the slightest noise of the younger piercing through him. Aching his heart.

He reached out his trembling hand, softly pressing it on Kongpob's head. Caressing his soft locks.

"Kong."

A painful gasp left the younger's lips as he opened his eyes. Looking up his chest heaved as he took heavy breaths, realising that the elder male was truly present in front of him. Staring at Arthit who stood beside the nurse, clad in the hospital gown, tensed smile on his lips and concern filled eyes, Kongpob didn't know what he was feeling in actual sense.

"P-P'Arthit."

Arthit nodded his head, trying his best to provide Kongpob with his dimpled smile. The one Kongpob had always loved. "Everything will be fine Kong, I assure you."

Kongpob's lips trembled, wincing as he tried to slightly move his body. Arthit immediately stopped the younger, warning him to not move with his tender voice. Kongpob was breaking, inside out, all the while he had laid on the bed his thoughts were occupied with what would be happening to him. Uncertainties swarming him. He started to teach himself that he would never see Arthit again.

"I have brought something for you, Kong." Arthit's dimples were displayed on his cheeks as he took out a wooden case from his pocket.

Kongpob's eyes showed confusion as Arthit opened the box, placing it closer for him to see.

"This is my Mom's."

Kongpob gasped, staring at the beautiful necklace. An emerald stone pendant hanging from it with silver roses twining around it. The pendant glistened under the dim room.

"She had handed me this before she passed away. It's a Rojnapath possession. Every in-law has one and this one here is mom's. She asked me to pass it on to my partner after our marriage."

Kongpob shook his head, knowing very well what the latter meant.

"It's our wedding today, Kong." Arthit reached out to hold the younger's face between his palms. "Whatever it might be, I'll marry you. Declaring to our small family that what we share is more than any ritual could express."

Kongpob turned his face away making Arthit gulp. He took a step back, giving Kongpob enough space. The tears that slid down the younger's cheeks wasn't gone unnoticed by the him.

"Can you leave us alone for a few minutes, please?" Kongpob asked the nurse, sniffling as he tried to control his cries.

Once it was only him and Arthit in the room, he let his tears fall, he let his voice quiver as he spoke. He was done holding in.

"I-I don't deserve you, P'Arthit," Kongpob choked on his tears.

"There was a time where I was worthy of what you are showing to me, worthy to accept what you have brought for me. The one in the past had the right to marry you, P'Arthit."

"Right now, the ugly truth lies under these covers." Kongpob shut his eyes tight, his focus on the caresses of the tears that ran down his cheeks.

Arthit rushed to the other side, his hand caressing Kongpob's cheeks as he assuringly nodded at him.

"Neither am I unaware of the truths nor are you a stranger to my feelings, Kong." Arthit leaned in to place a soft kiss on his forehead making Kongpob tear up, sobbing as he closed his eyes.

"If you want my love to perish at the sight of you, that's inconceivable, my love."

Kongpob found himself smiling through his pain, the warmth that emitted from Arthit's touch eased his heart and mind. The worries he had slowly pushed out of him.

"You're my companion, Kong. The one who got always worried for me, the one who cares about what I eat, what I wear, more than me. Do you know how beautiful you're, inside out? I wish you could see yourself through my eyes, Kong." Arthit dabbed the younger's tears away, letting his own tears slide down his cheeks.

"You're the one who knows me more than myself."

Kongpob gasped, he fluttered his teary eyes open when he felt Arthit place his forehead on his. The elder's tears fell on his cheeks. He wished he could wipe those away, just like Arthit had wiped his. He feels helpless, not being able to touch the elder or let him cry on his shoulder.

"You have always prayed for me, Kong. And all your prayers have been answered."

Arthit's lips quivered, sniffling he pulled away, staring into the waves of emotions in the charcoal eyes.

"Today once again, please pray for me. Pray that I find the strength in me to never let your faith weaken. I wish I could take away all your pain, to see you smile and laugh again."

Kongpob's chest clenched, his breathing uneven as he tried to not lose himself in his cries. He want to watch Arthit, watch the emotions run through his features. Watch how those hazel eyes teared up for him. Watch the tenderness and love that emits from the hazel orbs.

Kongpob took a deep breath, a whisper leaving his lips."For once, remove the covers, look at what I have become."

Arthit stared at the younger, eyes blank but his heart and mind were combusted with pain, seeing his love questioning himself.

"My love doesn't require this test, Kong." Arthit pulled away, taking out the necklace from the wooden box with his trembling hands. "And you know it."

"Accepting this is as equal to our marriage for me, Kong. And I want you to know, I'm never going to leave your hand in this, we'll get through this together." Arthit smiled.

"Will you accept it, Kong? Ready to start a new life, with me?"

The younger choked on his tears as he slowly nodded his head, smiling for real this time. It felt soo good, the warmth and love from the elder male overpowered the pain he was feeling at the moment. His heart and soul was filled with utmost love, that it itched his fingers to hold the elder in his arms.

"Put it on me?" Kongpob suggested, seeing the hesitation in the latter's eyes. He saw how Arthit was about to put the necklace back on the box. He know the elder wasn't sure about him wearing it since almost the whole of his body was covered in bandages.

"But-"

"Please?" Kongpob tilted his head, a pout on his lips. "I want to wear it, know that you're close to me. That I'm all yours."

"Don't worry P'Arthit, I'll let the nurse keep this safely aside when it's time for my surgery." Kongpob smiled when he saw the elder's cheek flush as he tried to hold in his smile.

"So, please?"

Kongpob closed his eyes, the smile on his face unflattering as he felt Arthit's hand gently raise his head from the pillow. Slipping the chain around his neck before his head was placed back on the pillow with more care and gentleness.

He opened his eyes, eyes soft as he stared at Arthit whose focus was on fixing the necklace on him. When it was done a wide, dimpled smile bloomed on his lips that made Kongpob's heart flutter and butterflies dance in his stomach.

Arthit raised his gaze, meeting Kongpob's tender ones staring back at him. He reached to caress the other's cheeks, smiling when the younger leaned into the touch.

"First kiss as husbands?" The elder whispered, nudging their noses.

A pained giggle escaped Kongpob's lips, "Yes please."

Both closed their eyes as lips made contact, waves of shivers running through them as they tenderly nibbled on eachother. A content sigh left Kongpob's lips at the feeling of the soft flesh on him. The kiss was tender and warm that it released the tension both of them had held, they knew now by heart that no one is leaving. That they're in this together.

"I love you," Arthit whispered as they parted, placing a tender kiss on the younger's forehead.

"I love you too, P'Arthit."

When Arthit stepped out of the ICU he was met with the warm smiles of Phana and all the elders.

"Where should I sign, Dr Phana?" Arthit smiled when he heard gasps of relief escape from everyone.

Phana stepped forward, patting Arthit's shoulder. "Khun Arthit, so far, in this hospital we have only seen families abandoning their own children because of incidents like this."

"But today, we had finally seen someone getting accepted. You're a wonderful person Khun Arthit, Kongpob is lucky to have you."

Arthit nodded his head, warm smile dancing on his lips. "I'm the one lucky to have him, Dr Phana."

"I'm fine." Kongpob hissed as he moved to the side. Smiling softly as he leaned back on the hospital's fowler bed.

"You can just tell me if you want to use the restroom again, ok?" Arthit placed a soft kiss on the other's forehead.

The younger smiled, nodding his head as he relaxed onto the bed. He was made to lay in a sitting position by adjusting the headrest of the bed. He was tired of lying down the whole day.

"You were working on the laptop, I just didn't want to disturb you."

Arthit shook his head, taking a seat beside the younger on the bed.

"Doesn't matter, Kong. I'm here to take care of you, a few minutes out of work won't harm me." The elder chuckled when his fiance pouted.

They fell into a comfortable silence. Arthit's eyes trailed on the younger as the other male closed his eyes, sighing as he comfortably laid on the bed. Holding his hand in his.

It's been a month since Kongpob's surgery took place. It was a success and everyone was glad things went well. Now they just had to wait for the wounds to heal. Phana had advised them to let Kongpob stay at the hospital for a month and a half before he can return home.

And David talked it out with Decha, assuring that once Kongpob was back home they'll start where they had left behind. They wouldn't waste any more days to conduct the wedding ceremony.

The fear that Arthit had seen in Decha had vanished. He was happy to assure the elder male that he would never let go of Kongpob.

"Lunch is here!"

Arthit turned towards the door, chuckling when he saw Nai hiss when he saw Kongpob open his eyes from being awaked from his sleep.

"Sorry, P'Kong," the younger immediately apologized making Kongpob chuckle as he shook his head.

"It's fine, I was just resting for a while."

A smile bloomed on Kongpob's face as he watched Maya walk along with Nai, with lunch in her hands. He watched as Arthit stood up from the bed, giving space for Maya to take the place.

"How are you today, Kong?"

Kongpob smiled wider, feeling Maya's hand on his head, caressing him. "I'm fine, Bpâa."

Maya hummed, "You always say that."

Nai shook his head, chuckling as he arranged the food they had brought from home on the plates.

"He never asks for help, aunty. I have to make sure he doesn't pull any stunts in the name of not bothering others," Arthit crossed his arms against his chest, sticking his tongue out at the younger when he pouted at him.

"Kongpob," Maya narrowed her gaze at him making the younger give her a nervous smile.

"Don't do that, ok?" Kongpob nodded his head.

"Let us take care of you. It has always been you who was there for us, without any complaints of being a burden to you, so now give us the right to take care of you, son." Maya pressed a soft kiss on the other's forehead. Her lips trembled as memories flashed through her mind.

Kongpob could only smile, nodding his head with a hum. Trying to not break down at the elder's words.

He watched as Nai bring the plate over to Maya, who took it with a smile. Proceeding to feed Kongpob, while Arthit had his share of lunch at the table nearby. Watching the scene in front of him with a wide smile on his face.

Ever since the accident, Maya started to get along with him. It took her time. She hadn't visited him in the first two weeks after his surgery, only her home-cooked food reached him. From Nai, he knew that Maya was drowning in guilt, but he didn't want her to.

It was hard for him, knowing that Maya wasn't coming to meet him because of her blaming herself for all she had done to him. Nai had advised him to give her space, that she had to take time to analyse what he had done for her all along that she had always pushed away.

At one point Kongpob broke down in front of Arthit, the elder listened to him. Holding him in his arms, soo soft, since he had bandages all over his body. The hold was light and soft but he could feel Arthit's support and acceptance.

And the next day Arthit himself - despite feeling angry for what his fiance had to go through-had visited his house, which was getting rebuilt with the help of Aran's supervision. He talked to Maya, talked to her about how much Kongpob misses her and that he didn't want her to keep regret on the past.

And the next day, she started bringing breakfast and lunch for Kongpob. And the younger was beyond happy, knowing he got his Bpâa back.

"Kong."

The younger raised his gaze, smiling seeing Arthit who stood by his side, with a glass of water in one hand and pills in the other.

Arthit placed the pills in Kongpob's mouth and helped him drink the water. Once they were done the nurse who stood by the door knocked on it, receiving everyone's attention.

"Dressing?" She smiled politely, pointing at the set of bandages that was on her tray.

The three nodded their heads, Arthit kissed Kongpob's forehead before making his way out of the room along with Nai and Maya.

"Arthit," Phana who was waiting outside the room called out for Arthit's attention once the younger stepped out.

"Dr Phana?" Excusing himself from Maya and Nai, Arthit walked towards the doctor.

"I want to speak about Kongpob's condition," Phana gave an encouraging smile as he signalled the other to walk along with him.

"Kongpob can travel with you to Bangkok now, expert doctors are there, so nothing to worry about. And there won't be any issues in your married life either." The doctor gave an assuring pat on the younger's shoulder.

"But I would like to talk about this on a personal level."

Arthit stopped in his tracks, staring at the doctor in concern. "What is it?"

The latter sighed, taking a deep breath. "Arthit, this grafting treatment, plastic surgery. It's not magic. With time every wound will heal, but their marks will take time to go."

Arthit bit the inside of his cheek, nodding his head. He gets what the other was trying to imply.

"I'm reminding you that, now Kongpob will look at himself through your eyes, Arthit. I hope you understand."

A proud smile made its way on the doctor's lips when he saw Arthit nodding his head in confidence, with a small smile on his face.

"I do."

Wedding was something Kongpob thought he would never have when he laid on the hospital bed, his skin burning and aching in pain as bandages were wrapped around them.

He believed no one is ever going to love a scarred man like him, that he would never have a family with the man he had fallen in love with. But all his assumptions were turned away, all his doubts and insecurities were washed away when Arthit walked through the ICU's door, tearing up with him, smiling with him as he made a promise. Connecting and promising by their souls.

That moment he knew, Arthit is and always will be with him. Despite the struggles, Arthit will love him the same. The elder made him feel worthy again.

And now as he sits beside Arthit, on their wedding stage, in his house, with guests and family members happily wishing them and giving their blessings as they performed the Rod nam sang, pouring holy water on their respective joined hands.

"You're fine, right? We can stop it here if you-"

"I'm fine, P'Arthit, don't worry." Kongpob gave an assuring smile to his husband.

He chuckled, shaking his head, indicating the other to not get worried. They were performing the last rites of their marriage ceremony and now Kongpob can proudly claim that the man beside him was his husband.

"If it gets too much, let me know. Ok?" Arthit brushed their shoulders together, he couldn't use his hands to calm the younger as it was laid on the table in front of them, his palms joined as water was poured from the shell by their guests.

"Sure."

Kongpob stole glances of the elder from time to time. Sometimes catching the other staring back at him with concern. He couldn't help but feel butterflies, feeling the elder's gaze on him, worried for him, worried for his health, worried if he would get uncomfortable.

He still had the bandages all over him, which was covered with the loose wedding clothes he wore. His wounds weren't completely healed but he was fine enough to go on journeys and move out of the house, even though he would be sitting on the wheelchair most of the time.

Once he was discharged, making sure he was healthy enough, Decha and David planned their wedding ceremony to take place a week later. It was chaos at the Suttilak's household, the celebration resumed but everyone was cautious of every action that took place in the house. Kongpob felt happier than he was before, being close to Maya who was treating him like her own son, smiling and laughing with him. Joining the celebration in an enthusiasm he had never seen in her.

"Lunch time!"

Decha clapped his hands, announcing the guests to move to their assigned tables. The ceremony had finally come to an end. It was past noon, once the newly wedded couple was done with their lunch they would proceed to leave.

They had cancelled their plans on having a reception party on Arthit's insistence, remarking Kongpob wouldn't get time to take rest if that takes place. They had to leave early too, or else it would be hard for them to reach back to Bangkok. With almost 9 hours drive on car, since they weren't able to get any flights. All flights had been booked for the week.

Even though Arthit suggested staying back till they got a flight ticket Kongpob insisted that he would be fine with being in the car. That he won't be uncomfortable.

"P'Arthit?" Kongpob blinked, confused as he wasn't allowed to stand up by his husband, who stood up and walked to his other side.

"Oh!"

Before Kongpob could comprehend the situation he was in Arthit's arms, secure and safe. His eyes widened as he stared at the beaming face of the elder. Squeals and chuckles from their friends and guests were heard making him hide his face onto Arthit's chest.

"You'll be safe in my arms, Kong." Arthit pressed a kiss on the younger's cheek as he walked out of the stage, towards the table at the centre, where their seats were arranged. And Kongpob knew very well, he will always be safe with Arthit.

Kongpob peeked, staring at his husband's side face. The elder's dimpled smile made his heart beat faster, the glow on his face was unexplainable.

A reluctant whine left his lips unconsciously when he was gently placed on the chair, his husband fixing his clothes before pulling away. Placing a kiss on the top of his head, caressing his hair before taking a seat beside him.

All the while Kongpob felt his skin warm up with the gentleness of the elder, the silent actions and overwhelming tremors he was feeling made him giddy.

Arthit smiled at Maya who placed their lunch on the table, signalling them to proceed. Thanking her he took one of the plates, immediately digging into it and turning towards his husband.

"I can eat it myself, P'Arthit," Kongpob tried to take the spoon the elder had stretched in front of him, he couldn't help the hiss that escaped his lips when he moved his hands. His arms were still bandaged, and his wounds ached.

Arthit shook his head, gently placing Kongpob's hand back on the younger's lap."Let me Kong, I have the right to do this."

With trembling lips and glazy eyes, Kongpob took the spoon full of rice in his mouth, with a smile on his lips.

"About about yours?" The younger tilted his head, signalling at the plate of food that was untouched.

"I will, later."

Kongpob raised an eyebrow, refusing to accept the food that the elder placed in front of his mouth.

"You should eat too."

Arthit chuckled, "I'll once I feed you."

"No, you should eat with me too." Kongpob pushed the plate towards Arthit's side, signalling the other to have it too.

But Arthit was stubborn, he just smiled wide at him and proceeded to feed him.

"P'Arthit," the younger pouted.

"Oh, you two! Why are you making my son worried, Arthit?" David walked towards them, after observing what was going on.

He playfully pinched Arthit's ear making the latter whine, "Don't you dare make him worried, Oon."

Kongpob chuckled, feeling warm as he watched the two interact.

"Don't worry, Kong. Your husband won't go hungry from here." David winked at his son-in-law before taking a seat beside Arthit, taking the other plate in his hand and proceeding to feed his son.

Arthit rolled his eyes, "Pa! I can eat myself."

"P'Arthit."

"Arthit."

Arthit shuddered at the glares that were thrown towards him from either side. He obediently let David feed him while he fed Kongpob. The three of them laughed and teased eachother, unaware of the pairs of eyes that watched them with amused smiles on their faces.

Lunch was over soon, time seemed as if it passed soo fast. One moment Kongpob was walked to the wedding stage with Decha and Maya by his side, blessing him and Arthit as he was made to sit beside the latter. And now here he was, hugging Nai as his brother shed tears hugging him back tighter.

"I'm going to miss you, P'Kong." Nai sniffled, pulling away. He chuckled when Kongpob wiped his tears and placed a kiss on his forehead.

"I'll miss you too, Nai. I'll make sure to call at least twice a week. Ok?"

Nai nodded, letting the latter hug Maya who had a teary smile on her face. He was glad that everything turned out fine in the end. He was happy to see Maya accept Kongpob before his brother stepped out of their house.

Maya cupped the younger's face in her palms. Smiling warmly at him, "Take care, Kong. I'm sorry that I couldn't give you the love that you have always yearned for. When I finally realised everything, you're already leaving."

"Please, Bpâa. I'll always come back, this is my home too. And I know you always cared for me deep inside, this is all that I ask. I got your blessings, it's more than enough."

Giving a soft squeeze to the younger's hand she signalled him to be near Decha, who was watching everything, standing beside the car Kongpob was going to get in.

"Lung," Kongpob smiled, walking towards the elder with the help of Arthit. Once he was face to face with Decha the emotions be buried inside was no longer held tight.

Staring into the teary eyes of his uncle Kongpob broke down, feeling himself getting pulled into the warm embrace of Decha.

"Don't cry, I want you to leave with a smile on your face." Even though Decha's voice stuttered he held it in, caressing the younger's back.

"You're in safe hands, my child. I've no worries for you." Pressing a kiss on the crown of his head, Decha pulled away. Wiping away the younger's tears.

"This is your home, always will be." A breathy whisper left Decha's lips.

Kongpob nodded, smiling brightly. Leaning in to give the last hug he was directed by Decha to get inside the car. Arthit followed after giving a tight hug to the elder. Assuring him that he will take good care of his nephew.

David stepped forward, patting Decha's shoulder with an encouraging smile. "You don't have to worry, Decha. I'm not taking a son-in-law with me, I'm taking my son back home."

Kongpob didn't shed any more of his tears as the car drove away, the assuring hold of his husband gave him enough strength. He didn't want to leave the place with tears in his eyes, just like Decha wished for. He will leave with a smile, to the beginning of their new journey.

"I love you, Kong."

The younger turned his gaze, smiling as he met the tender gaze of the elder. Leaning towards his husband he placed his head on the latter's shoulder.

Arthit immediately wrapped his arms around him, running his fingers through the black locks.

Kongpob closed his eyes, nuzzling into the other's warmth."I love you too, P'Arthit. Thank you for everything."

For the rest of the ride, Arthit held Kongpob close to him, letting the latter rest while he admired the man in his arms.

When Kongpob finally opened his eyes, he found himself in the arms of his husband. Silently carrying him to their bedroom, decorated with candles and roses.

"You're awake?" Arthit softly laid the other on the bed, noticing he had woken up.

"Did you carry me up the stairs? P'Arthit," Kongpob gasped, looking around the bedroom. He leaned on the bed, adjusting himself.

Arthit chuckled, moving away to the corner of the room. Kongpob couldn't see what the other was doing as the only source of light in the room was from the candles and the moonlight from the balcony.

"You don't weigh too much, my love. I should put you on a diet from now."

Kongpob pouted, yawning soon. His sleepy eyelids tried to keep them open as he watched Arthit bring a tray towards him. His eyebrows raised in confusion.

"It's time to change your dressings. You can sleep, I'll do it." Arthit offered a soft smile, his face glistening from the orange hue of the candles.

Kongpob gasped, feeling conscious of himself as Arthit turned on the bedside lamp. Arthit had never changed his bandages, he had only watched the nurse change the ones on his arms and legs. The elder male had always moved out of the room, giving him privacy when the nurses were there to change bandages on his other parts.

"P'Arthit," a whisper left his lips when the elder reached out to unbutton his shirt.

Arthit raised his gaze, eyes tender and assurance emitting from them. "Let me, Kong. I've learned the correct ways to do this. Won't you give me the right to do it for you?"

Kongpob bit his lips, slowly nodding his head. Still unsure of how the elder will react seeing the scars and marks on him. A shiver left his body when cold air brushed his bare skin.

He closed his eyes, breathing uneven as he felt Arthit's fingers caress his bandages. Lips quivering, his fingers dig into the mattress.

"Shh... I'm here, I'll always be here for you."

And a soft pair of lips met his, assuring him of who he was. Assuring him that he was all that Arthit wanted. He responded to the kiss, giving his all into it, tasting each other's lips. Soft and slow.

2 years later

"You're soo beautiful," a breathy whisper left Arthit's lips as he buried his face into his husband's bare shoulder.

Kongpob arched his back, a low moan leaving his lips, feeling Arthit's fingers leave hot trails on his naked skin.

Arthit places kisses over his shoulder bone, making his way up to his lips. Capturing them in a hungry kiss. The latter cried out against the elder's lips, lost in the waves of pleasure as his hands were intertwined and pressed against the mattress.

Arthit groaned, tasting the younger, inhaling his smell, the feel of him so close against him, skin to skin. each touch and each caress took their breath away. Nothing else mattered to them, time itself felt like an intruder between the couple, so they cared less about it. Pushing all thoughts away as they melted in each other's touches.

Kongpob moved his hands, landing them on his husband's hard torso. Caressing and clutching onto the sides as his head arched, Arthit's hip slowly and steadily moved between the younger's parted legs.

"Oh-Ahh-Oon," Kongpob gasped, clawing onto the milky expanse of the other's back. Leaving marks of his hold as Arthit moved inside him, coated in his wetness, feeling the warmth.

Arthit's lips slid down to his chest, peppering kisses and sucking onto his skin, leaving hot trails that ran a tremor down the younger. The heated glide of his mouth was everywhere at once.

"My brave, love."

Chest heaved in heavy breathing as whispers of appreciation and acceptance were heard from the elder male. Kongpob felt the same butterflies he would feel every time Arthit admired his body, his body that still held the marks of the burned skin. Every time they make love Arthit worshipped them, kissing every nook and corner of his scars.

"P-P'Arthit," Kongpob clutched onto the sweaty locks of the elder. His body jerked with the movement of the other's hip. Feeling double the pleasure with Arthit's skilful lips and tongue mark his body, inside and out.

Tangled within eachother, they devoured the other in ways only known to them. Musical moans and needy grunts escaped their lips. Anticipation for the unknown laying flutters down their skin, the need for eachother, to hold and feel the other was intense even though they were practically glued on eachother.

Honey graced legs wrapped perfectly on the fair expanse of the elder's perfect waist, tightly holding on as the body underneath Arthit whimpered and moaned.

Each thrust, each movement sending Kongpob to extreme sensual pleasure. And Arthit enjoyed every single wash of emotions, the change of expressions and moans that left the beauty beneath him. How much ever he had the privilege to see the younger like that, with him, he would never get tired seeing the flushed face, moan for him, yearn for him.

"F-Faster," the younger whimpered, hands wrapped around Arthit's neck. Eyes closed as he arched.

Arthit leaned down to kiss the younger, nibbling onto the swollen lips of his husband. Taking in the moans and grunts into him as he increased the pace. Rocking onto the younger.

A satisfied grin took over his lips when the man below him let out a surprised grunt as he hit his spot, seeing the younger's eyes roll back in pleasure.

"I got you, my love." Arthit's husky voice brought a shiver run down the younger. He clutched onto the elder, feeling lost to the world, alive in the magic of pleasure his husband was devouring him in.

"Oh..god!" Kongpob took a sharp breath, his mouth agape, Arthit hitting over his blissful spot over and over again, leaving him breathing heavily for air.

Arthit twined, soothing his fingers over Kongpob's thigh as he holds on to it, thrusting his member with an increased pace. Eyes closed in extreme bliss, grunts leaving his lips as Kongpob's nails dug onto his back. And he knew the younger was close, he could feel it through the squirming of the younger under him.

Kongpob gasped, getting himself close he moved his hips, meeting the elder's rhythm. He pushed himself further, feeling the warm hardness inside him. Soon finding himself reaching his release, gruntled moans left his swollen lips. Chest heaving as he took heavy breaths, feeling as if he was floating.

Kong heard Arthit's disembodied grunts soon, making him spread his legs wider for more access. As the elder thrusted deep into him, arching into him, grunts of pleasure escaped those rosy lips as he climaxed inside him.

Kongpob's eyes fluttered open, staring at the man above him, moaning in sensual ecstasy, beads of sweat covering his forehead. Both on their peaks.

Gazing at the elder male who was high on pleasure, releasing inside him, the rhythm of his movements slowing, Kongpob knew it was the perfect moment. Perfect moment for them, for Arthit to know about it.

"You're going to be a father, P'Arthit."

A wide smile spread on Kongpob's tired face as he noticed Arthit freeze. Eyes wide, blinking, lips parted in heavy breathing.

Dark hazel eyes stared back at him in confusion and shock, "W-What?"

The younger chuckled, pulling Arthit forward, their foreheads pressed together, Kongpob captured the other's lips in a tight kiss. Gasping for air.

"Yes, P'Arthit. We're going to be parents." A blinding smile took over the younger.

Arthit blinked, gaping. His chest heaved as he tried to analyse the situation. Was he hearing things?

"A-Are you sure? You're not joking right?" Athit gulped, his hold on the younger tightened.

Kongpob giggled, the elder's face was priceless. It looked as if Arthit was in a dilemma, unsure if he should fully give in to his excitement or to the little possibility of it being a prank.

"I'm not joking P, we're going to be parents. We're having a baby."

A whine left the younger when Arthit pulled from him. He yelped next when the elder turned them around, pulling him into a tight hug despite the stickiness between them.

"Are you crying, P'Arthit?" Kongpob felt his own eyes glisten with tears, lips stretched into a wider smile as he heard sniffles from the elder. The body in his arms shook silently.

"I-I'm going to be a father, Kong. We're going to be parents." Arthit kept mumbling repeatedly, swaying them as he hugged his husband tighter.

Kongpob let Arthit have his moment, caressing his back as he shed his share of tears. The moment he knew that he was pregnant, he spend almost half an hour crying. The happiness and excitement, the nervousness was all combined.

When the elder finally calmed down they pulled away. Kongpob was gleaming as Arthit cupped his face. Peppering his face with kisses all over, making the younger giggle.

They rested their foreheads together, beaming, a different glow taking over them.

"One month and 15 days," Kongpob whispered, staring into the hazel eyes which sparkling once again.

"How did you know?"

"Nearly fainted at the office last week," Kongpob heard the elder gasp. A sharp glare was thrown towards him. "P'Neen took me to the hospital."

Unexpectedly Kongpob found Arthit pouting at him, eyebrows drooped.

"So I'm not the first one to know?"

Kongpob couldn't help but laugh, he pulled Arthit closer, resting his face on the firm chest.

"But no one else knows about it, P. P'Neen didn't even tell P'Aran about it. I want you to know before we announce it to everyone."

"Ok."

Kongpob was worried with the tone of voice the elder used.

"Are you mad at me?" The younger raised his gaze, pulling away to get a glimpse of the elder.

He pouted when he found Arthit smiling ear to ear, a weak punch landed on the elder's chest as Kongpob realised the elder was playing with him.

Pulling Kongpob firmly to his chest, engulfed in his warmth Arthit placed kisses on his shoulder.

"I love you soo much, Kong. I love you soo much." Caressing the shiny black locks of the younger Arthit felt elated, he couldn't express what he was feeling. Describing it as extreme happiness would be unfavourable to what he was feeling.

"Thank you, thank you for this, my love."

Kongpob snuggled into his chest, smiling as he inhaled the husky scent, "Thank you for giving me a family, P'Arthit. I love you."

Buried in each other's sweet heat, blending into the moment, they listened to each other's rhythmic breathing. Feeling as if they were swiped off the ground with all the emotions that swarmed them.

"Bath?" Kongpob poked on Arthit's arm.

"Of course," stealing a peck from the younger Arthit stood up, gathering his husband in his arms. Too carefully and gentle than ever, making Kongpob giggle.
