That Night - 3
Kongpob rushed to the kitchen, taking the box of lunch he had prepared for himself from the countertop he walked in to take his bottle of water.
Ever since he knew he was pregnant he reduced buying food from outside. He started packing his own lunch.
"Gosh! I'm running late!" Kongpob cursed checking his watch.
He was meant to get ready an hour ago but just blame it on the snooze of the alarm for waking him late. He was just too tired yesterday night after vomiting his heart out, and the events that took place a week ago was still bothering his mind.
"Huh?" Kongpob lips parted in confusion as his eyes landed on a torn piece of paper that laid beside the dustbin of the kitchen, what confused him was seeing his sign on the paper. He could see more of the torn pieces inside the dustbin.
He gulped leaning down to take the paper. His eyes widened, he took the other pieces of paper from the dustbin. Luckily, the dustbin didn't have any other contents inside it aside from the paper, or he wouldn't even dare to touch those even if his curiosity reached the mountain top.
"Th-This can't be-" Kongpob gasped, biting his lips to control his tears. A small smile threatening to form on his lips as slowly the hope he had lost made its way into him. Maybe, they still stood a chance.
Kongpob's eyes widened as he hurriedly dropped the pieces of paper into the dustbin and rushed out of the kitchen when he heard the footsteps of the elder male.
"You're in a hurry."
Kongpob looked up to meet his husband's eyes as he packed his lunch and water bottle inside his office bag.
"Y-Yeah, I'm getting late. I slept in." He saw Arthit nod his head from the corner of his eyes.
Kongpob avoided Arthit's gaze on him as he rushed to the door.
"Wait!" Arthit cursed in his mind when he saw the younger halt on his steps. He started to rethink the thought that passed his mind but he wanted to try it. Make things right.
"P'Arthit I have to go, it's getting-"
"I'll drop you at your workplace, Kongpob." Arthit walked towards the small table beside the TV in their living room where the keys were kept. He didn't wait for an answer as he took his car key and walked straight towards the front door.
"You said you're getting late, I'm leaving for work too. I'll drop you." Arthit faced Kongpob this time, their eyes staring at eachother for a good minute before Kongpob finally nodded, still in a daze.
Kongpob gulped as he followed Arthit to the car. He just cannot imagine that this just happened. For a week they were strangers living inside the house, just stollen gazes and blank faces. Kongpob was losing hope already.
He thought he could change Arthit's perspective of him, that he could make Arthit understand that he wasn't here for Arthit's money but for the child that he was carrying. And because of their parents.
Lastly, he didn't want harm coming into Arthit's name. And because of his feel- let's not talk about it.
He is an ordinary guy but Arthit isn't. If the public gets to know that Arthit was in a relationship with a nobody like him and even had a child before marriage, it will surely affect his career and the success he had brought to the company. Kongpob didn't want that.
But all the hope he had was crumbled down when he signed the agreement Arthit put forward to him. He felt helpless and pathetic, for thinking that Arthit would at least give their relationship a chance. But no, that didn't happen.
And then Kongpob saw those torn papers in the dustbin, he felt his whole being shiver at the thought alone. He still cannot believe what he saw there.
"Kongpob, you okay?"
The younger blinked, registering his surrounding he stared at the elder who had opened the door of the car for him to get in.
"Uhh-No, no I'm fine." Kongpob gave a shy smile before he got inside the car. Heaving a huge sigh of relief he watched his husband walk over to the driver's seat.
Arthit was in a black undershirt and pants with a brown blazer over it. His hair perfectly styled to the back, his jawline more prominent. The tip of his ears shaded a soft pink.
"If you have any discomfort call me, Kongpob. Don't worry about any disturbance, you can message or call me anytime.". Arthit informed as they started to drive.
He had only visited Kongpob's workplace twice. Once with his Mae and Pa as they invited themselves to pick Kongpob up for that day so as to meet the younger's parents. And the second time it was the day before their wedding, Arthit was forced to fetch him from work because Achara told him so.
"S-sure P'Arthit. Thank you." Kongpob gazed out of the window as the car drove towards his workplace. He could feel how cautiously the elder was driving the car, compared to how he was the last few times when he got to experience car rides with him.
Even on the day of their wedding night as Arthit drove them to the condo, his husband wasn't this smooth and careful while driving. And this thought brought a small smile to his lips.
Arthit glanced at his husband from time to time. Feeling his heart beating fast against his chest even if the other was facing towards the window. With an arm over his tummy. He gulped, realising how large of a mistake he had done but then again, he was trying to fix it.
"P'Arthit, can I ask you something?"
Arthit's grip on the steering tightened as he internally jumped at the sudden question. He stole a glance at the other before he faced the road again.
"Sure."
Kongpob turned towards the elder. His eyes taking in the side profile of the latter, his sharp jaws and long lashes, the way the tip of his ears have turn a darker shade of pink, all of them brought butterflies inside him.
"Did-Did you really throw it away?"
"Throw what?" Arthit's eyebrows raised.
Kongpob gulped, turning his face towards the road. He can't take a chance in losing the confidence to ask the latter by taking a look at Arthit.
"The agreement. I saw it in the dustbin. You-You threw it away."
Kongpob cursed himself when the only response he got from the latter was silence. His eyes widened as he started to overthink. What if the agreement was torn accidentally? What if Arthit didn't mean to throw it away? What if-
Kongpob bit his lips. The image of the torn agreement fresh in his mind. What if he fooled himself?
"Yeah, I did."
Kongpob snapped his head towards the latter, the elder's cheeks were flushed and he could see that his husband was trying to not look at him.
"Why?"
Arthit shivered, "I-I didn't think it was needed anymore."
"I'm sorry that I said those words to you Kongpob. I really am. I-I didn't try to look at things from your side and blindly believed what others said. I-I should have given this a chance."
Kongpob stared at his husband as if the other had grown a second head. He just couldn't process things, now that Arthit had directly voiced out to him. He wasn't expecting the latter to be vocal about it.
"You really mean that?" Kongpob gulped.
Arthit chuckled and Kongpob felt as if his heart jumped out of his chest.
"Yeah, and I'm sorry Kongpob. Please accept my apology." Arthit glanced at Kongpob finally parking the car in front of the latter's office building.
"It's okay P'Arthit, you trying is enough for me." Kongpob smiled, unbuckling his seatbelt.
Arthit found himself unconsciously smile as he nodded his head. He watched as Kongpob got out of the car, the younger looked relaxed and the glow on his face was back. No more the cold shoulder directed at him (he blamed himself for that).
"Hey-" Arthit's eyes widened when he saw Kongpob suddenly leaning on the car, his hand clutching his head.
The elder immediately got down and rushed to the other side of the car, towards his husband.
"Kongpob, you okay?" Arthit wrapped his hand around the younger's shoulder and Kongpob immediately leaned on his shoulder, eyes closed tight.
"A minute," the younger mumbled and Arthit didn't ask further. He held Kongpob in his arms, listening to his husband's labored breathing. He could feel that the other was slowly relaxing in his arms.
"You okay?" Arthit asked concerned when Kongpob pulled away from him, the younger's cheeks dusting with a shade of pink.
"I'm fine now, P. Maybe because of the sudden movement, my head started pounding." Kongpob let out a sigh. He shouldn't have moved out of the car in a hurry, he had been experiencing these a week before when he knew he was pregnant.
Arthit frowned, concern taking over him. "Do you want to see a doctor? I can take you-"
Kongpob chuckled, shaking his head. "I'm fine P. This isn't the first time I'm feeling like this after I got to know I was pregnant."
Arthit bit the inside of his cheek, feeling guilty that he didn't notice any of these.
"I have to go P. I don't want to get scolded by my boss." Kongpob chuckled, he waved as he made hurried footsteps towards his office building. Some of the employees already saw them and of course, they didn't dare to speak anything about it.
It was a direct order given from the Rojnapaths to stay away from their son and son-in-law and to not spread any rumours or interfere in their personal life, if so they will take immediate action.
And no one wanted to get on the bad side of the Rojnapaths.
Arthit watched with a sigh as Kongpob rushed inside the office, greeting some of his colleagues on the way.
The past week, he felt as if he was killing himself by staying under the same roof as the younger male. Guilt was washing over him. There was this constant voice inside him that once said that he was doing right was now reminding him how dumb of a person he was at the moment.
He started to observe the latter more the next days. Arthit saw how Kongpob was with his mae when she came to visit over. His caring and polite nature, down to earth behaviour.
"Everything is fine, Mae. P'Arthit and I are trying, just give us some time."
Kongpob had replied with a smile when Achara asked him how things were between them. Arthit had overheard their conversation.
From that moment he started to question himself. Sure his feelings for Kongpob isn't the same as what he felt for his ex-girlfriend but he could give it a try, seeing Kongpob covering up his actions even though it hurt the younger he started to rethink what his friend told him about Kongpob.
Maybe his friend was wrong. Kongpob isn't like the person he thought he would be.
It hurt him more when the younger would prepare food for him even though he doesn't sit with him to have meals. There were days when Arthit comes back from the company, late, after a hectic day, and he would see his meal placed on the dining table and note on top of it asking him to reheat it before having it.
They didn't talk much during the week, Kongpob didn't even dare to accidentally walk into him and he doesn't blame the younger male. He knows it's his fault.
He used to hear his husband throwing up in the bathroom when the latter forgets to close the door to the room. Arthit even heard him cry once and he felt as if he was being ripped apart hearing the cries.
But not once did Kongpob curse him. Or blamed him for everything.
He doesn't know if he could ever love Kongpob but maybe they can start with being friends.
Arthit glanced at Kongpob worriedly as they sat in front of the doctor. They were here for Kongpob's first ultrasound and the results don't seem very pleasing for Dr Ann or the two men.
"You have to be more careful, Mr Rojnapath. The baby's heartbeat is low compared to how it should be when the fetus is 13 weeks. You're underweight and almost anaemic. Are you eating well?"
Kongpob gulped, "Y-Yes doctor, it's just that I throw up every time I eat something. It doesn't stay in for a long time. But I make sure that I eat."
"It's okay. For some people, this doesn't cause such an effect on their bodies, as it is a part of pregnancy. But for some, this isn't the case. Each person's body is built different, we just have to understand the risks and take precautions." The doctor gave a small smile. Going through the file once again.
"Are you still working?"
The two glanced at eachother. Arthit could see how tensed Kongpob was, when they came in for the first ultrasound he saw Kongpob shedding tears when he saw their baby on the screen, the heartbeat of the little being echoing in the room.
He can understand how this was affecting the younger male.
Dr Ann let out a hum when she saw Kongpob nodding his head. She crossed her arms on the table, giving an encouraging smile.
"I know how this feels, Mr Rojnapath. But I would like to advise you to stop working till this pregnancy ends. I'm sorry to say this but it's for the safety of both you and your child. This is your first pregnancy so it has its own complications too. I hope you understand."
Kongpob bit his lips, "But-"
The younger glanced at his husband who placed his hand over his under the table. Kongpob sighed seeing the elder smiling encouragingly at him, speaking through his eyes as he softly shook his head.
"We'll think about it Dr Ann, thank you." Arthit talked this time.
Dr Ann nodded her head, "Sure, no pressure. It's your decision. I'll prescribe some more vitamins and other pills that'll help you with your nausea. And will prescribe you a diet plan too."
After a few minutes of enquiry, the couple walked out of the room. Arthit couldn't help but sigh as he saw Kongpob's fallen face. He moved towards the pharmacy to buy the medicines while Kongpob stayed behind, deep in his thoughts as he wrapped his arms around his tummy.
He didn't want to sit idle at home, he cannot burden Arthit like that. Even though things between them have improved through the months they weren't committed enough to eachother as to him staying at home and letting the other work.
Kongpob had planned that he would take his pregnancy leave from his company like any other pregnant person. He planned to work till he was able to. His colleges still don't know that he is conceiving. And not to mention his ex being there, but ever since the news of the Rojnapath's heir's wedding was announced he could feel the intense glare thrown towards him by Mark and the latter had stopped showing off his relationship to him.
And he was glad, he didn't have to deal with that idiot again.
"Kong, let's go?"
Kongpob looked up at his husband who had a plastic bag in his hand while the other hand was placed over his arm, caressing it. He sighed before he nodded his head.
The ride to the condo was silent. Kongpob had his face turned towards the window and Arthit would glance at him from time to time, not knowing what he should be doing.
He is very bad at consoling people.
He understands that for a person like Kongpob, who's independent and gives value to his job, this was a hard decision.
They never thought about this. Both of them believed that the baby and Kongpob was fine and healthy. Achara had told that when she was conceiving Arthit she had experienced the same, the nausea was too much that even the smell of food triggered the tendency to throw up. So the couple didn't give much thought to it.
But after all the checkups they have done in the hospital, and the doctor's reports showed that things weren't like they believed them to be.
And Arthit doest know what he should be feeling at the moment. When he saw their baby on the screen of the machine, he felt this overwhelming lump forming in his throat. Making him unable to talk. And seeing the wide, beautiful teary smile of the younger male made him feel as if his chest was being squeezed by someone. He couldn't describe the feeling he was getting. It felt soo... different.
"Kong," Arthit called out softly after they got inside their condo. Watching his husband sit on the couch, his arm covering his eyes as he leaned against the backrest.
Arthit bit his lips, walking towards Kongpob he sat beside him.
"Kong, I know this is really hard but it's for your safety and...baby's too." The elder cursed in his mind, he sucks at this.
Kongpob removed his hand from his face, straightening his back as he looked down at his hands.
"I-I don't know what to do." Kongpob sighed, intertwining his fingers on his laps.
"Kong, I'm sorry that you have to go through this but the risk is not only for the baby but also for you. Neither does mine or your parents will be happy about it. We have to concentrate on both the parent and the baby."
The younger glanced at his husband. His breath hitched when Arthit took his hand from his lap and intertwined their fingers. Using his other hand to caress over it.
"What's bothering you? You can talk to me, Kong." Arthit's eyes were soo soft as he gazed at his husband that Kongpob felt he was ready to burst. The softness of the other's hold was overwhelming to him.
Through the few months, their relationship had improved. They would greet eachother in the morning, try to have dinner together and Arthit would even take him for casual outings. Like any other married couple, they go grocery shopping and visit each other's parents houses.
Kongpob was happy with their improvement. He was happy that it wasn't only him who was trying now, but Arthit too. He knows it's hard for the elder male, especially with the short time after breaking up with his girlfriend but they couldn't predict the future.
Even though they aren't in love, well not mutually, Kongpob is happy with what they're currently having. The fact that Arthit is taking an initiative is overwhelming to him.
"I-I don't want to burden you, P'Arthit. And you know how companies work, this isn't my pregnancy leave that they usually give at 35th week. I-Its a private job P, they can easily replace me in my absence. I don't want to lose this job."
Arthit remained silent as he let Kongpob pour out his worries. He understands how the business world works, he himself is an acting CEO. Kongpob had to take approximately 7 months leave if he decides on it at the moment, most companies give paid leaves for pregnant people but it depends on the date of their leave. And they might bring a person as a replacement in the other's long absence.
And in this case, it's a high chance the company will replace Kongpob. And there will be no guarantee that he will be returning to his previous position in the company. There might be changes.
"Kong, concentrate on yourself for now. We'll think about the future later. You're a talented person, Kong. If the not same company you'll be able to get another job at a different company, and..." Arthit gulped, not sure if he can say this but he wanted to.
"The Rojnapath Group will always have a position for you, Kong. You're my husband after all."
Kongpob gasped, his eyes wide as he stared at Arthit. He blinked seeing a nervous smile break into Arthit's lips.
"But-"
Is it possible to have too many heart attacks in a single day? Kongpob felt as if it was happening to him when Arthit placed his finger on his lips.
First, it was Arthit voluntarily voicing out that he was his husband, telling him he can work at Rojnapath Group, and now stopping him from speaking by keeping his hand on his lips! The elder doesn't know what he's doing to Kongpob.
"Shh...no buts Kong, hear me. You don't have to worry about it. I assure you, when you're stable enough to return to work, if your company doesn't give you the desired position then I'll be giving you that." Arthit smiled.
Kongpob took a deep breath, his cheeks heating up. A small smile threatening to form on his lips.
"Ok."
****
"So, you're pregnant." Mark leaned over the cabin wall.
Kongpob jumped at the sudden voice beside him. He looked up from packing the final things he had on his desk.
"Who told you?" Kongpob narrowed his gaze.
Mark chuckled, "I got to know it from boss's secretary, you know, we both are really good friends. It isn't even long since we broke up and you already knocked yourself up. Wow."
"It's none of your business." Kongpob gritted his cheeks.
"Feisty as always," Mark smirked. "I'm glad that I broke up with you, didn't know you were soo desperate for this. Already pregnant and all."
Kongpob closed his eyes. He doesn't want to make a scene. And he doesn't care, Mark is no longer a part of his life and he doesn't have to explain things to him. He hurriedly packed his bag, it was his last day at the office. He had moved some of his belongings a few days ago so he didn't have much to take with him today.
It was almost the end of working hours so everyone was leaving.
"Right. And I'm glad that I broke up with you too. Best decision I have made." Kongpob slung his bag over his shoulders as he walked past his ex-boyfriend.
Mark glared at Kongpob, "You're really money-hungry, that's the reason you slept with a Rojnapath and how turned to be his husband."
Kongpob stopped in his tracks, his palms clutched into a fist.
"And why do you care? Mind your own business, Mark. You have no right to judge me when you have flaws that you don't even want to recognise and correct."
He turned towards the elder male. He was done with this latter, he had enough of the plays.
"And Mark, dare you to say about me being pregnant to anyone else. If the news leaks remember the warning the Rojnapaths gave. Everything has a reason behind it and I believe you understand."
Kongpob smirked next, " And I hope I never see you again. You can call it boasting but remember who my husband is, you don't want to deal with him, Mark."
The elder gasped as he watched Kongpob walk away. He felt soo much anger seeing Kongpob wasn't affected by his presence. He believed he could always make Kongpob jealous and make him look pathetic but the tables have turned. And Mark couldn't do anything, he doesn't want to deal with the Rojnapath heir.
"Gosh! Just why?!" Kongpob cursed as he sat inside the taxi.
He was glad that Mark hadn't come up to him in the past but this one conversation he had with that man only made it worse. Why did Mark have to come up to him now?! After all those days. Maybe because Mark knew that he was pregnant.
He doesn't care what the other says about him but that doesn't mean he isn't hurt. He's glad that he doesn't have to see that egoistic man anymore, at least for the next few months, until he gets back to work.
Kongpob didn't think their boss's secretary would leak something like that. He had personally informed to not reveal about it as the media doesn't know about it yet, to their boss while he filed for a long leave. And he had to state the reason so he told that he was pregnant.
His boss had congratulated him, even though he couldn't give a promise that everything will be the same if he comes back to work he gave his wishes to him and Arthit. He's glad that no drama had occurred there.
Kongpob glanced down at his tummy, caressing his hand over the small bump. Just knowing that a life is growing inside him makes him smile. The thoughts of his baby relax him most of the time. Even though things turned out hard for him, he was happy about this. Having a baby of his own.
"Sir, we're here."
Kongpob looked up when he heard the driver speak. He glanced outside the window and realised that they were in front of the condominium.
"Thank you," Kongpob paid to the driver before walking out of the car. Taking a deep breath he walked towards the familiar building, making his way up through the elevator.
He doesn't know how he should be spending his time now. He isn't working anymore, he doesn't have anything to do. Arthit will surely leave every morning to the company and return by evening or night. He'll be alone for the rest of the day in that big condo.
Maybe he should go visit his parents? He misses them a lot. But then again, too much travelling is banned for him too.
Kongpob groaned, "I can't do anything! You're really giving me a hard time." He pouted as he caressed his tummy.
The younger chuckled to himself, he opened his bag to take out the key to open the door. A frown soon morphed into his face when he couldn't find the key, he started to panic as he checked his pockets and office bag once again.
"Oh no," Kongpob bit his lips realising he forgot to take the key in the morning.
He checked the time, it's past 6 in the evening and he remembered Arthit telling him he would reach home by 6. So Kongpob proceeded to ring the bell. But no response was given, he tried a lot more times but it was of no use.
Fishing out his phone from his pocket he groaned when he found that his phone's charge was low. He decided to call Arthit before his phone's charge goes off.
"Can this day be any more worse?!" Kongpob pouted angrily when Arthit didn't pick his call. He tried again but the latter wasn't responding.
He can't just stand here till Arthit comes. He was getting tired. He just wants to lay in bed and sleep.
Kongpob groaned as he made his way towards the elevator, he could ask at the lobby for an extra key to the condo if they have one. Normally they would keep an extra key in case of an emergency.
"Excuse me? Do you have an extra key to unit 602?" Kongpob leaned over the reception desk.
The man at the lobby glanced at Kongpob and shared a smile as he was familiar with the husband of Arthit Rojnapath. He asked for a minute to check into it before he turned around towards the corner of the counter.
"Yes Khun, we do have it. But I can't give you the key."
Kongpob frowned, "But why?"
"Khun Arthit had only listed Khun Namtan and his parents' names in the records for borrowing the key. We cannot give the key to anyone else. We have to follow the rules."
Kongpob gulped, not knowing how he should be feeling about it.
"But I'm his husband," Kongpob bit his lips.
The man gave an apologetic look, "I'm sorry Khun, I can't do it. Khun Arthit has to write your name on the list if you have to borrow the key."
Kongpob massaged his forehead, giving a soft tired smile at the other he excused himself.
He decided to have an early dinner since he was getting hungry. So he decided to visit the new restaurant near the condominium, have his dinner and check if Arthit returned from work. Maybe try calling him again.
Kongpob was pleased that the restaurant wasn't packed up that day. He took a seat at the corner of the restaurant and ordered a plain noodle soup with meatballs. He wasn't a fan of spices from the start and ever since he got pregnant he doesn't feel well having any kind of extra spice too.
He just wants the food to stay inside without him throwing up.
He glanced out of the window from time to time to check if he could see Arthit's car moving towards the condominium's basement as he waited for his food. The road was on clear view from where he sat at the restaurant.
"Kongpob? Is that you?"
"Huh?" The younger male glanced up hearing his name being called. His eyes widened when he saw who it was, a wide smile gracing his lips.
"Oh my! Noel! Is that you?"
Kongpob stood up and hugged his friend as they shared a laugh.
"Long time no see, buddy." Noel patted his friend's back.
Kongpob pulled away, pointing a finger at the other."Yeah! I should be mad at you for not contacting me at all over the years!"
Noel chuckled, "I know. And I'm sorry for that."
"Wow, so my best friend is saying sorry to me now. Am I dreaming?" Kongpob faked a surprise.
"Come on! Kong!" Noel rolled his eyes making the other male laugh.
"You're here alone?" Noel asked, smiling delightedly at his long time friend who he had missed a lot.
"Yeah. Planned to have an early dinner. What about you?"
Noel nodded his head."Same. I just returned from US a month ago. I'm living on the next street."
Kongpob smiled and asked Noel to join with him then. Noel asked one of the waiters to bring his order to Kongpob's table before he settled in front of his friend.
"So, care to explain why you were out of reach for all these years? I thought that we would still be meeting even after graduation but you just disappeared Noel. You hurt me you know? Too much for being best friends." Kongpob pouted.
Noel let out a nervous chuckle.
"I'm sorry Kong, it's just that...there were too much for me to handle. You know that my Dad's working in the US. His business started to fall and I had to help him. Too much chaos."
Kongpob gave a worried look to his friend, "Oh! What happened?"
"Dad and Mom got divorced a month before our graduation. I didn't want to worry you so I didn't tell you about it," Noel sighed.
"And it took a toll on dad that his focus started drifting away from the company and I had to step in to help him. And many other issues, let's better not talk about it."
Noel's words made the other feel bad for his best friend. They had been close ever since they met eachother for campus interview, they grew closer as they spend their four years of campus experience together. It hurt Kongpob back then when Noel had simply said that he has to leave for urgent matters and that he won't be able to contact him.
And this was the first time after years that he saw Noel again.
"I'm sorry to hear that. Hope everyone is doing fine now." Kongpob leaned forward to pat Noel's hand which was over the table. He didn't want to pry more, he can see how hard it is for Noel as he watches his expression change. Maybe one day they can speak about it, but not now.
For the next couple of minutes, they continued to talk as their order arrived. They shared about things that they missed about eachother. Talking about campus life and reminiscing about it with fond smiles playing on their lips.
They even shared their numbers and took a photo together.
And somehow the topic jumped down to Kongpob confessing that he previously had a crush on his best friend who was sitting in front of him at the point.
"You had a crush on me?" Noel pointed at himself, his eyes wide.
Kongpob laughed, "Yeah I did. Well, you couldn't blame me. Practically the whole campus was behind this charming man."
Noel shook his head, "Then what about now?" The latter's eyes moved towards Kongpob's hand that was placed over the table. The ring that was shining on the other's finger was itching him to ask questions to his best friend but he held it in.
Kongpob glanced at his palm when he saw Noel's gaze fall upon it. He bit the inside of his cheek.
"That was just a crush back then, Noel. And I'm already married now."
Noel's eyes widened."You-You're really married?"
Kongpob laughed at the other's reaction, "Yes. And almost 4 months pregnant too."
"No way!" Noel covered his palm over his mouth. "Congratulations! I'm soo happy for you!"
Kongpob smiled as the other walked towards him and shared a hug. "Thank you."
"So, who is that lucky guy?" Noel batted his eyebrows. A playful smirk on his lips.
Kongpob's smile dimmed for a second but he soon masked his expression.
"Arthit Rojnapath."
Noel blinked, staring blankly at Kongpob who had a small smile on his lips. He sure heard about Arthit Rojnapath's marriage but he wasn't in the state to look into it with all the things that were going on in his life.
"You-you are his husband? Wow! Too much information for one day!" Noel smacked his own head playfully making Kongpob laugh.
"Shut up!" Noel laughed at the other's playful glare.
"What about you? Found your one?" Kongpob pushed his empty food bowl away as he rested his arms on the table.
The other shrugged his shoulder, a painful smile on his lips. "I'm not as lucky as you, Kong. If you want me to tell the truth then I did have a crush on someone but too afraid to take that step. But now I don't stand a chance as that person is already happy with someone else."
"Oh," Kongpob bit his lips.
"Leave that aside," Noel gave a bright smile. "Tell me! How is your married life with Khun Arthit? I know you love babies a lot, so how is it having your own one?"
Kongpob bit his lip, not knowing how to answer his best friend. He could feel his eyes burning as tears started to form, he cursed his hormones for that. Ever since their first ultrasound, he had been too much emotional, and he hates it sometimes. Like this moment.
"Kong! Hey! You okay?" Noel started to panic seeing how Kongpob was getting uncomfortable.
Kongpob shook his head, "N-No! No! I'm fine. It's just..."
Noel stayed calm as he let Kongpob gather himself. He could see that the latter wanted to speak out but something was stopping him.
"Kong, I know I hadn't been the best friend you wished to in the past years. But know that I'm here if you want to share something. It's better to share it than keeping it in your mind, you know?" He gave a small smile to him.
Kongpob chuckled through his tears, "That implies to you too."
"My case is different." Noel pointed out, shaking his head. "I'll surely talk to you about it Kong. But give me time."
Kongpob nodded. Understanding the latter.
"So?" Noel raised his eyes and Kongpob found himself gulping.
Arthit was excited to reach home today. He cannot wait to see Kongpob and reveal that he had won a big business deal. Everyone was proud of him, his father too but he wanted to see how Kongpob will react to it.
But his happiness didn't last long when he found that his condo was empty. No traces of Kongpob in it. It was already late, almost 7 in the evening and why wasn't Kongpob back home?
"Oh shoot!" Arthit facepalmed when he realises he didn't inform Kongpob that he would be late. But that doesn't explain why Kongpob wasn't back home. It was the latter's last day at his company as his leave starts tomorrow.
Fishing out his phone his eyes widened when he saw the number of calls from Kongpob. He had silenced his phone when he was in the meeting room, he forgot to check his phone after the meeting was done.
Arthit hurriedly called Kongpob, hoping that everything was fine. He had checked every corner of their place but couldn't find the latter.
"Kong, pick up! Pick up!" Arthit tapped his foot on the floor. His other hand on his hip.
"Unavailable? What?!" Arthit cursed when the other didn't pick his call, he took the key of their unit that he previously dropped on the table, as he made his way towards the door. Planning to check on Kongpob.
But just before Arthit could unlock the door from inside he heard the doorbell ring. And he immediately opened it to find Kongpob standing outside, his eyes looked puffy but Arthit wasn't in the mood to concentrate on that at the point.
"Kongpob! Where were you!? I had been calling you! I got soo panic-"
"P'Arthit! I'm soo sorry!" Kongpob stepped inside the house, immediately stopping Arthit from misunderstanding the situation.
"I forgot to take the keys to the unit today so when I came back from the office I couldn't enter. I called you several times too."
Arthit furrowed his eyebrows, "You could have asked at the lobby for-"
"I did." Kongpob gulped, walking past Arthit as he made his way towards the kitchen to drink some water.
"You haven't put my name in the records, P'Arthit. You only put Mae and Por's names and...Khun Namtan's too. They couldn't give me the key." He poured a glass of water and drank it, he saw Arthit stiffen at what he said.
"I-" Arthit gulped, mentally slapping himself. "I'm sorry, I forgot to change it."
Kongpob shook his head, "It's okay, P'Arthit. Nothing to worry about. I went to have an early dinner at the restaurant nearby. I think I'll go rest now. I'm tried."
"Wait! I wanted to tell you something." Arthit bit his lips. Kongpob glanced at his husband, urging him to speak.
"I'm sorry I didn't pick your calls, our meeting got extended than it was planned. I forgot to check my phone until I reached home."
Kongpob smiled, "It's okay P. I understand. How did the meeting go? What about the deal?"
Arthit smiled wide at the fact that Kongpob remembered about it. He had told the latter about it yesterday, about how tensed he was for today.
"It went well! We got the deal!"
"Really!? Oh my! Congratulations P'Arthit!" Kongpob walked forward to hug the latter, not thinking much about the action.
Arthit stood rooted in his place as the other hugged him. He could feel the base of his neck heating up as a smile bloomed on his lips. He hugged the latter back and stayed in the position for a minute more. No one dared to break the hug.
Maybe giving this a chance wasn't soo bad, Arthit smiled at his own thought
But well, maybe it wasn't very pleasing though. Because at this point Arthit was extremely jealous of someone. Someone who started to receive a lot of attention from Kongpob, his husband, than him.
"Really! He is just soo awesome, P'Arthit! We used to have a lot of fun when we were in college!" Kongpob laughed as he reminisced their old days.
Arthit clenched his fist, hiding it under the cushion on his lap.
"I was soo happy to see Noel again! We were really good friends. Oh well, I even had a crush on him," Kongpob shook his head, laughing. Unaware of his fuming husband.
"What!?" Arthit's eyes widened.
Kongpob turned his face towards the elder, "What?"
Arthit cleared his throat, "No-That-I mean, you had a crush on him?"
Kongpob nodded his head. "Yeah. But I didn't dare to confess to him. I didn't want to lose our friendship, I didn't want to change how our relationship was going on. It was better to stay as friends."
Arthit nodded. Biting his inner cheek. He just stared at Kongpob as the latter continued to tell the stories about his so-called 'best friend'.
It started a week ago when Arthit found Kongpob's phone ringing on the sofa while the other was busy in the kitchen. Arthit decided to check and what greeted him was a picture of Kongpob and his said best friend's picture on the screen with 'Noel' written at the top.
He doesn't know what got into him but he felt extremely irritated seeing how close the two looked in the photo. The smile on Kongpob's face was soo genuine and his face was glowing.
And it moved on for a few more days as Kongpob continued to converse with the latter. He even found them in a serious conversation sometimes over the phone.
One day Arthit lost it as he asked Kongpob who he was talking to. And his husband was more than glad to tell him that it was his best friend and he had met him after a long time at the restaurant on that day he forgot to take the condo's key.
Arthit wanted to know more about Kongpob's best friend so he asked the latter to tell more about their 'friendship story'.
And that led to Kongpob almost always talking about his best friend to Arthit. Arthit got more and more jealous as the days passed, he was soo distressed that he couldn't look at other people who had the same features as Kongpob's best friend had. That curly Chestnut haired guy was making his life frustrating.
He even started to lash out at his employees just because he was frustrated. The voice of Kongpob saying his friend is that his friend is this echoing in his ears. Nevin had enough of this shit that he confronted Arthit, leading the acting CEO to voice out his frustration.
"Seriously, Arthit? They might just friends like us. Kongpob is your husband Arthit, sure I misunderstood him in the beginning but as days pass I think he isn't the person we thought him to be. You have every right over him, Arthit. Show that you're his if you think you're losing him, man up, buddy."
Arthit remembered what Nevin told him that day.
"And I'm meeting him tomorrow! He's leaving for Chiang Mai the day after tomorrow, so we decided to hang out."
"But you aren't allowed to travel!" Arthit immediately retorted.
Kongpob pouted unconsciously, looking down at his palm over his lap. "I know. That's why we're meeting up at the restaurant near our condominium! I loved the food there! It's really delicious!"
Arthit didn't know what got into him but the next thing he knew was turning Kongpob's face towards him and smashing their lips together.
Kongpob's eyes widened as his hands automatically rested on Arthit's chest. He tried to push the latter off but Arthit wasn't having it and the younger soon found himself moaning into the kiss.
"P-P'Arthit," Kongpob gulped, his cheeks turning into a dark shade of pink as they broke the kiss, staring into the overwhelming gaze of the elder he felt he's too small in front of the other.
"Stop talking about Noel." Arthit gritted his teeth, his eyes falling on the other's plump lips.
Kongpob blinked. "Huh?"
His eyes widened when Arthit suddenly lifted him off from the couch. His heart started to beat fast as his husband carried him into his room, Arthit's room.
He gasped as he roamed his eyes around the room, he had only entered this particular room when he had to ask Arthit about something or while helping him with cleaning.
And this situation was very different, he never dared to come into this room unless it was needed. This was Arthit's room, even if they were legally husbands, they weren't the same inside closed doors.
And he wanted to give Arthit his privacy.
"You're not going to flaunt about your boyfriend in front of your husband, Kong. Nope, not happening."
Before the younger male could register what was happening his lips were being devoured by the elder, the other hovering on top of him on the bed.
"Hmm-Hmm," Kongpob arched his back as Arthit's fingers slipped inside his baggy t-shirt. Caressing his skin.
The elder's lips started to make their way to his neck, sucking onto his collar bone as his fingers started to caress against his sensitive nipples.
Kongpob felt himself yearning for those touches, he was aware of the situation they were in and he had no motive to bring a stop to it at the moment. His pregnancy hormones were making it harder for him to restrain himself.
"You're soo alluring, Kong," Arthit whispered against the younger's neck. Sucking onto the mole on the base of the latter's neck that caught his attention. Licking over it.
"P-P'Arthit," Kongpob moaned, his toes curling at the feeling of Arthit's fingers kneading his numbs. Hard yet pleasuring.
Throwing away their clothes on the floor, their legs entangled with eachother as Arthit started to mark Kongpob's body with his kisses, leaving hickeys all the way. The younger's fingers were running through the elder's silky hair, clutching them when he felt the other suck harder into his skin.
Arthit hands proceeded to knead on Kongpob's butt as he slipped his hand towards the back, bringing the latter's hips higher, pressing his member against his own as he started to kiss the younger male.
Kongpob moaned and breathed heavily into the kiss as he felt the other's fingers kneading his bottom hungrily and faster, the soft flesh gracefully slipping and gripping over the elder's fingers. And their members rubbing against eachother was making Kongpob's eyes roll back.
"You're already leaking, my dear," Arthit pressed his forehead against Kongpob, breathing heavily with a mischievous smile on his lips as he felt his own member getting harder.
"Please P-P'Arthit! Just take me!" Kongpob gasped when Arthit's hard member caressed his entrance.
Arthit chuckled, pulling Kongpob up by his hands he made him sit on his lap. His husband's hands wounded over his shoulders and soon he heard the melodious voice of the other as he moaned when he started to give him a hand.
Kongpob's hard member, already oozing with pre-cum as Arthit started to tease its tip with his fingers. Spreading the milky liquid over the head of the member. Sending chills down Kongpob.
"Oh-Oh," Kongpob gaped, his fingers threading into the elder's hair, pressing the elder's face towards his chest as he tried to gather himself.
With a dimpled smile, Arthit pressed his head further into Kongpob's hold, smelling the younger's natural scent as he buried his face into his chest. His hand continuing to stroke the younger's member and the loud moans escaping the other's lips were the evidence of the orgasm that was approaching the younger male.
Arthit's other hand laid over the younger's waist, his fingers occasionally caressing the bump of his stomach. Reminding him of their baby inside Kongpob.
"P'Arthit! Ah-hh" Kongpob arched his back feeling his release in between them. Arthit's fast stroking over his member sending him to another dimension as he started to see everything in a blur with the pleasure.
Arthit pulled away from Kongpob's hold, his cheeks flushed with the intensity of the activity, he pulled the younger's face towards him as he captured his lips.
Arthit groaned into the kiss as he felt Kongpob moving his hips in his lap, stimulating his already rock-hard member. A hungry moan escaped his lips when Kongpob sucked harder onto his upper lip.
Arthit raised Kongpob's hips, making the other stand on his knees. The younger immediately understood what the elder was planning, so with a smirk on his plump lips he took Arthit's shaft in his hands and give it a few strokes before positioning himself over it. Without giving Arthit the time to realise what was happening Kongpob pushed himself down, taking in the elder's whole shaft inside him.
"Fuck! Kong!" Arthit closed his eyes, moaning louder. His hand gripping over Kongpob's waist as he pulled the younger towards him.
Kongpob breathed heavily, his lips parted and eyes hooded with lust as he slowly started to move, his palms resting on Arthit's shoulder.
Arthit's eyes were following each of the younger's movements, his waist that was in his hands moving up and down with the movements. Kongpob's body bouncing as he rocked himself on Arthit's shaft, arching his back. Everything was too sexy for the elder.
"Oh my-" the younger's eyes rolled back in pleasure as he increased the pace of the movement, panting and moaning louder when Arthit started to push himself further.
The sound of slamming of the elder's shaft into his entrance echoing the room.
Kongpob gasped when the other pushed him down, making him fall on the bed with a soft bounce. He clutched the bedsheet as Arthit thrust into him, deeper and faster. Sending tingles of pleasure down him.
Cupping Kongpob's cheeks with one palm while the other laid on the bed as he balanced himself over the younger, Arthit caressed the latter's cheek as he pounded into him.
Kongpob's hand gripped the elder's hair, his breathing heavy and soft sounds escaping his lips with Arthit sucking onto his tensed buds. Making him arch and push deeper into the soft mattress.
He wrapped his legs around Arthit's hip, giving the elder more access to him. He literally saw stars as the other thrust into his bundle of nerves. Making his body lift from the bed for a second before he panted and groaned with the amount of pleasure he was receiving.
"Ah-Hmm," Arthit bit his lips, feeling the walls of the younger clench and unclench around his member which was ready to burst its seeds any moment.
"Ah, shit-" Kongpob gasped as his lips parted, feeling the hard flesh inside him, caressing his walls and making him shudder with pleasure.
Slamming pleasurably into the warm cavern Arthit's hands fell on either side of the mattress, beside the younger's head. All the while making sure that he doesn't hurt the bump between them.
Their moans increased and voice stuttered as the pleasure overcame their senses. Their hands that roamed on each other's skin leaving hot trails on him.
Sweet little cries escaped the younger's lips as he felt the elder thrust deeper into his prostate, he clutched onto Arthit's shoulder when he felt his own member release for the second time with the amount of pleasure that was tingling his system.
"Ah-Ah, Kong!" Arthit gasped, moaning through his parted lips as he orgasmed into the warm cavern of the younger male. Panting and gasping with the wash of pleasure over him.
Buried in each other's warmth, both tangled within for eachother. Arthit glanced at his husband who was already staring at him as he panted.
Kongpob giggled when Arthit smiled down at him. The elder's fingers caressing his hair.
They were happy, the step they have taken in their relationship was pleasing to both of them. And Kongpob felt himself blessed for the moment, getting what he had dreamed for. Seeing Arthit smile at him, with a different feeling in it, Kongpob felt tingles on his skin. Butterflies in his stomach.
Even if they hadn't verbally voiced it out, or put a label on their relationship other than the official 'husband-husband' label in front of the public. Kongpob was happy with this.
Or he thought so.
They say that don't be too happy when people say they love you and care for you, the real question is, until when? Just like seasons, people change.
And Kongpob felt it when everything turned upside down after a month, on that one peaceful morning.
