Return To You - 4
Kongpob had his face buried into his knees as he sat on the couch of his parents' house. Rin and Kerkkrai watched their only son nervously sitting on the couch, not knowing what to do.
"We should have told him earlier," Kerkkrai whispered to his wife.
Rin sighed, "I - I know it's my fault, I was only trying to protect him. Remember, we promised that we'll tell him when the right time comes."
"Right, seeing him happy we forgot about it. It completely slipped off our mind! I can't believe we didn't tell him." Kerkkrai groaned.
Rin patted her husband's shoulder, "Honey, it's fine. We at least told him now."
"I'm just afraid about Arthit, what if..." Kerkkrai trailed off, gripping his wife's palm.
"You don't have to worry about it, honey. Arthit loves Kongpob, and he'll be the happiest person to know about this. Trust me." Rin smiled, she was very much confident about her son-in-law, well, soon to be son-in-law.
Glancing at her son she couldn't help but sigh. She couldn't explain how happy she was when she saw the result of the test the doctor took. The positive pregnancy report in Kongpob's hand made her want to scream to the whole world that she was going to be a grandma.
But she had to keep her feelings, it wasn't about her, it was about Kongpob and Arthit. She knows she did a mistake by not telling Kongpob about how special of a person he's.
She, Kerkkrai and Kongpob moved to the place they currently stay at when Kongpob was 13. And there was a reason for it unknown to their son who thought it was just a simple change because his father got a transfer. But it wasn't the truth, at least not to the full extent.
Rin was fed up with her in-laws when they came to know that Kongpob was a hermaphrodite when he was 11. It wasn't rare in their society to have a hermaphrodite but even through the years they're seen as the weakest and oppressed. There are many who shows equal respect to this gender but orthodox people were still there. And her in-laws where one of them, not only Kerkkrai's parents but also his side of the family discriminated against Kongpob.
It was getting worse that Kerkkrai's mother was trying every possible way to criticize Kongpob and shame him but Rin tried her maximum. It was comparatively low when Kerkkrai was at home but when he goes to work, her in-laws would turn the house upside down. Rin was thankful that Kongpob went to school, she hadn't yet disclosed it to him at the time.
Rin and Kerkkrai would always try to keep Kongpob with themselves so they could avoid the others criticizing their son. For two years they tried to protect him, sometimes Kongpob would be prone to those harsh words and without knowing the reason behind the sudden change of his grandparents and cousins he felt soo left out. But Kerkkrai and Rin always had been there for him, letting him know that he was special and important to them and that his cousins and grandparents just couldn't see how good of a person he was, that they were just blind.
Rin had enough of all the chaos, she couldn't stay at that house anymore. With his in-laws pressuring her to give birth to another 'normal' child soon so that their status wouldn't be at stake. And the criticism she heard about her son, she finally told Kerkkrai that they have to move to another place. And Kerkkrai understood, he fought his parents and family and moved out of the house and took another place.
Kongpob was sad at the beginning for moving away but Rin and Kerkkrai told him that it was for the best and that they had to move on. They told Kongpob that it was for his father they moved in. Rin was happy that her family and parents were supportive. Kongpob had his maternal grandparents come to meet him and shower him with all the love he deserves that he didn't get from his father's parents. Soon Kongpob forgot about his paternal grandparents, he was happy with his life. He had good friends and lovely parents.
Rin and Kerkkrai, especially Rin didn't want their son to be discriminated against just because, he was special.
So they decided that they'll let Kongpob enjoy his time until it came to the point that they HAVE to disclose it to Kongpob. But seeing their son happy they forgot about the thought of it. Sure Rin and Kerkkrai had a fear in them when Kongpob and Arthit were in a relationship but they didn't think it would bother their relationship.
But as the time came, they regretted not telling them. For them it was normal for their child, they didn't see it as anything abnormal. It was normal.
They know they're at fault. They accept it too. Rin had patiently waited for Kongpob to settle with the sudden news. They also visited Dr Rome as per the doctor's advice, the doctor was very friendly and encouraged Kongpob in every way possible as the decision is in Kongpob's hands. Kongpob was still young, studying, and had responsibilities to himself and when he got to know he's pregnant anyone could understand the thoughts that goes through the young man.
Rin had observed Kongpob the whole time Dr Rome explained about Kongpob's health, telling the baby was three weeks old. The doctor told Kongpob to stay strong and take a decision wisely with his partner. Whatever it is no one can judge him.
All the while Rin only saw either fear or uncertainty in the eyes of her son. He had forced a smile at the doctor and told that he'll be keeping the baby. It came as a shock to Rin since she didn't expect him to answer soo quickly. But she was happy.
Rin had immediately called Kerkkrai after the appointment and asked him to come home. When Rin and Kongpob reached home Kerkkrai was waiting at the doorstep worried for his son, Rin immediately explained everything to him as Kongpob went inside the house and sat on the couch.
Kerkkrai and Rin then told everything to Kongpob and apologised for hiding it from him. Kongpob just stayed quiet all the time and after Rin and Kerkkrai explained everything, he smiled and told them it was okay. He then asked them to give him some space, which the parents gladly did.
Rin's thoughts broke when she heard Kongpob's phone ringing. She glanced at Kerkkrai who was staring at their son worried as Kongpob cut the call again.
Rin sighed, she clearly knows who was calling Kongpob and it was the fifth time. Kongpob kept on hanging up the call. She was sure the person is going to call her anytime soon.
Rin looked down at her phone which rang in her hands, taking a deep breath when she saw the caller ID that she expected. Glancing at Kerkkrai who nodded at her she answered the call.
"Mom, is Kong fine? He's not picking up my call." Rin was greeted with a concerned voice from the other end.
"Arthit, can you do me a help?" Rin asked softly, her eyes on her son who was staring blankly at his phone on the small table in front of him.
"Mom, what is it? I'm worried."
"Can you come home? Kongpob needs you, can you do that?" Rin tried to not seem desperate. She knows Arthit shouldn't be cancelling his work in the middle for personal reasons but her son needs Arthit more than anyone.
"I-I have one more class for the day. But it's okay, I'll come mom." Arthit answered immediately.
Before Rin could answer Kerkkrai took her phone and answered Arthit.
"Arthit, don't worry about the class. I'll manage it, you just come home soon. Okay?"
"Dad? You're there? Ok, I'll come soon. Is everything okay? Kong is fine right?" Arthit couldn't help but get tensed.
Kerkkrai smiled softly hearing the concern in Arthit's voice, "Kong is fine, but he needs you. Come home, we'll tell you everything."
"Ok dad, see you soon."
"See you son."
Kerkkrai handed the phone back to his wife who smiled at him.
"I'll make a call to the school." Kerkkrai placed a kiss on his wife's forehead before he walked away to make the call.
Rin sighed, leaned on the wall she stared at her son who was zoned out.
Kongpob doesn't know what he should feel at the moment. He was carrying a life inside him, the fruit of his and Arthit's love. He was beyond excited and happy when he finally registered the news in his head, but fear took over his other senses. His parents were completely fine and they were happy but what about his fiancé? He doesn't doubt Arthit's love for him one bit but....what if?
He knows about hermaphrodites, and he respects them very much but never did he think that he was one of them and it made him feel special. But after Rin and Kerkkrai told him the reason they didn't disclose the truth to him he was scared, what if Arthit's family thinks the same? What if they ask Arthit to leave him?
Kongpob hadn't met Arthit's family personally but he had video called them along with Arthit when the latter disclosed that they were in a relationship. They supported them very much and was very happy for them but what if this change brings conflicts. He's not a person who dwells on possibilities but this time he was overthinking and he couldn't help it.
His mind was running miles, his hand unconsciously wrapping around his tummy. Caressing his thumb softly over the fabric he couldn't help but feel tremors at the thoughts of a baby inside him. What would have been his state if he didn't consult a doctor? He wouldn't be aware of the small life inside him and will stay on being careless. He cannot imagine what the outcome might be.
Gulping down the lumps in his throat he stared at the phone in front of him. He knows he's being irrational but he was scared. He's making Arthit worried and he's well aware of it. He's scared of everything. How would he handle this? What about his studies? He's going to be a fourth-year after his finals at the end of the month, how would others look at him?
Don't get him wrong, he's not ashamed of being pregnant, but others words would affect him for sure. He's young, will be able to handle it all. What if he cannot be a good parent to his baby? What if things don't work out?
Unconsciously he let his tears fall. Sniffling into his sleeves he tried to wipe his tears, but he just couldn't stop. He felt as if everything around him was spinning, he felt suffocated as if a huge rock is placed upon him.
"I'm sorry," Kongpob caressed his tummy. Apologising to the growing life inside him for thinking about all the insecurities and stressing up. He knows he shouldn't be stressing at this time and should be happy.
Taking deep breaths, he leaned against the couch. Closing his eyes, pulling his legs closer to his chest.
"Kong, baby."
Kongpob opened his eyes hearing the familiar voice from a distance, with blurry eyes he looked to his side. Blinking his tears away he sniffled at the face that came to his view. Choking on his tears he launched himself on his fiancé who caught him securely in his arms.
"Baby, what happened? Are you okay? Are you hurt? What's wrong? I'm really worried," Arthit caressed his sobbing fiancé. His heart was clenching with each sob that left Kongpob's lips.
He was soo confused as to what was happening at the moment. When he reached home Kerkkrai was already standing outside, the latter immediately told him to go to Kongpob. It broke him when he saw the sniffling figure, looking dazed with his arms around his stomach when he entered the room.
"P-P'Arthit...P..." Kongpob sniffled, rubbing his nose with his sleeve he couldn't stop himself from crying.
Burying his face deeper into his lover's chest he clutched onto the warmth.
"Take deep breaths baby, deep breaths. I'm here, your P'Arthit is here." Arthit placed a kiss on Kongpob's hair, rocking his young lover in his arms.
"Whatever it's bothering you Kong, I'll be here for you. We'll get through this together, you're not alone. Please don't tire yourself like this, please baby, I'm worried sick for you. I'm here love, I'm here for you as alwa-"
"I'm pregnant P'Arthit."
Arthit felt his throat being dry, he blinked, his hands on Kongpob's back stopped caressing the latter. Pulling Kongpob away from him, Arthit placed his hands on either side of the latter's shoulder. Staring deep into younger's dark orbs, filled with worry and fear.
"W-what did you say?" Arthit stuttered, he gulped when Kongpob sniffled.
"I'm pregnant P, we're going to have a baby."
Arthit's lips quivered, a sudden shot of electricity rushed through his body making him shiver. He felt goosebumps as he repeated the sentence in his head.
Kongpob was pregnant? He is going to be a dad?
"Kong," Arthit pulled Kongpob into a bone-crushing hug, letting his tears of joy fall Arthit showered Kongpob's face with kisses.
"Oh my god! Is it true!? You're not joking right!? It's true right!?" Arthit held Kongpob's face in his palms, tears falling from his eyes.
Kongpob gulped as he stared at Arthit who was glowing at the news, with tears running down his dimpled cheeks, wide full teeth smile with his eyes shining with all kinds of emotions. Kongpob felt his heart leap out of his chest.
Kongpob slowly nodded his head, letting his worries settle and enjoy the moment with his fiancé, "Yes P'Arthit, you're going to be a dad."
A sob escaped Arthit's lips, he couldn't stop smiling. Touching their foreheads, Arthit dabbed his thumb on Kongpob's wet cheeks.
"Thank you Kong, thank you."
Kongpob sobbed, the heavy emotions in Arthit made his voice softer and barely audible. Kongpob hugged his fiancé, burying his face in the crook of Arthit's neck.
"I love you soo much Kong, thank you. I don't know what else I should say." Arthit chuckled to himself at the lack of words he could form.
Kongpob smiled into the embrace, tightening his arms around the elder.
"Y-You don't find me weird?" Kongpob finally asked, breathing heavily when he received a minute of silence from the elder.
"Huh?" Arthit breathed, pulling away from the hug. He tried to make Kongpob meet his eyes but the younger kept diverting his gaze.
Arthit sighed. So this was it?
"Kong, why would I?" Arthit caressed the other's hair, trying to soothe him.
"Be-because I'm a hermaphrodite, what-what if your parents won't like me anymore? I-I didn't know this will happen, I do-don't know what to do." Kongpob sniffled.
Arthit took a deep breath. "Baby, look at me."
Arthit bit his lips when Kongpob didn't react, the latter was sniffling as tears were falling like a river from those puffy eyes.
"Love?" Arthit placed a kiss on Kongpob's forehead.
"Sweetheart? Look at me, please?" Arthit cupped Kongpob's cheeks and made him face his side. He sighed when Kongpob looked down at his hands.
"My baby boy, look at P'Arthit."
Kongpob shivered, goosebumps over his skin when he heard the soft whisper in his ears. Blushing red through, his face wet with tears he slowly raised his eyes to meet the dark orbs. He was greeted with a dimpled smile making him stutter.
"Baby, there's nothing to be weird about. You're special, the best I can ever have. I promise you, whatever it may be, whoever pushes you away I will be there for you. I, Arthit Rojnapath, promise you with my life that I'll protect you and our life growing inside you." Arthit pecked on Kongpob's lips.
"I want you to know that you're not weird, it's normal in our society. Just that some people are too blind to see the beauty in it. So, don't cry. Don't tire yourself, baby. I'm here with you, we'll pass this too. You're strong and I know you, you'll always choose the best."
"But, I won't pressure you Kong. If you think you can't do this then y-" Arthit smiled when Kongpob pressed his palm against his lips, panic taking over the younger.
"No! No! I never thought about it P, it's our baby. The fruit of our love, how can I do that. I'm sorry that I was overthinking, I just got scared. I thought what happened with my grandparents will be repeated. I don't want that, I want to be happy with all our family members. Seek their blessings and earn their love."
Arthit chuckled, taking Kongpob's palm on his lips in his hand, he kissed the slender fingers of the male making Kongpob blush.
"That's all I need Kong, you're happy with this decision then I'm too. And I assure you, my parents won't disapprove of us. You don't have to worry, this is our life, our happiness. That's all we need." Arthit smiled wider when Kongpob pecked his cheeks and laid his head on his chest.
Arthit wanted to ask Kongpob what happened with his grandparents, he wanted to ask the latter why he hid him being a hermaphrodite to him. But no, this wasn't the time. Kongpob needs his support, and that what he'll give now. If Kongpob feels like opening up to him then he'll gladly listen to it.
"Stop crying, I'm here now. Will always be. I love you Kong." Arthit kissed Kongpob's forehead, caressing the latter's soft locks.
"I love you too P'Arthit." Kongpob smiled, relaxing in his lover's arms. Now feeling tired from all the crying and cracking his head with mundane of thoughts. Staying in the same position for a minute he yawned when Arthit slowly started to rock him in his arms.
"Rest baby," Arthit smiled when he heard Kongpob yawn again. He knows the latter didn't get enough sleep last night. Kongpob had woken up in the middle of the night to throw up and couldn't sleep after that, Arthit had to hold him in his arms still the younger couldn't fall asleep but when it was past dawn the younger somehow managed to fall asleep.
And now with crying his eyes out and panicking with all the thoughts, Arthit knows his young lover is tired. He need rest. Arthit caressed Kongpob's hair and hummed a soft tune as he helped Kongpob to lay down on the couch, the younger's head on his lap.
Arthit looked up towards Rin and Kerkkrai who was staring at them from the entrance of the living room, with soft smiles on their faces. Rin was even wiping tears.
Making sure that Kongpob was asleep, Arthit placed a kiss on his forehead before he slid away, caressing the silky hair he smiled. Feeling butterflies in his stomach, everything that happened within the few minutes felt soo surreal to him.
He was going to be a dad, he never thought of that aspect of his life. Sure he wished to have his own family with Kongpob but Kongpob being pregnant with their child was unexpected yet thrilling him to the core.
Looking at his in-laws, he smiled, walking towards them. He could sense that they want to speak to him. And he had an idea of what it was.
"Congratulations son," Kerkkrai hugged Arthit, patting the latter's back.
"Thank you, dad," Arthit smiled, feeling elated. Breaking the hug he faced Rin who smiled nervously at him.
"Mom, you okay?" Arthit placed a hand on her shoulder.
Rin chuckled, "Yeah, I'm. Just...sorry we didn't tell you that Kong - "
"Mom, it's fine. Please, don't. I know there might be a reason, I'm really happy now, Mom. And I don't know how to express it. Everything feels soo magical."
Rin and Kerkkrai shared a glance, smiling to themselves at how Arthit was glowing.
"I'm happy to hear that Arthit, we're happy to have such a good son in law." Kerkkrai winked making Arthit chuckle nervously.
******
Arthit smiled staring at the face of his fiancé who fell asleep on his shoulder. Caressing the latter's palm in his hand he pressed a kiss on his forehead.
Kongpob stirred in his sleep, his eyebrows furrowed as he adjusted his head on the elder's shoulder, finding a comfortable position.
Arthit smiled wider when Kongpob's nose unconsciously nudged against his skin, sending tickles.
Looking out the window of the moving car he couldn't help but feel soo happy that he imagined himself flying through the clouds.
The couple was going to meet Arthit's parents. It was a long drive, they had to wake up early in the morning if they had to reach Arthit's house to have lunch. Achara, Arthit's mom had insisted them to reach there by lunch or else she's not going to talk to their son anymore. Arthit knows that his mom can be really childish if she wants too, and he always adored that side of her.
It's been three days since they got to find out that Kongpob was pregnant. Arthit had insisted Kongpob to move out of his dorm and come stay with him or at his parents' house. And of course, Kongpob chose to stay with Arthit. The elder also promised Kongpob that he'll personally drop the younger at the campus and pick him up from the same place.
They hadn't told their friends about it yet, Arthit gave Kongpob time to adjust. He knows Kongpob is very happy but small insecurities were taking over him. And Arthit made sure he wiped them away, he would take every possible way to assure Kongpob.
The younger male was happy, and it made Arthit happy too. Spending time together with the younger made him feel at peace. Arthit asked Kongpob to take leave for a week, since they were only having revisions Kongpob agreed to it excitedly. Arthit is happy that he can look over Kongpob now, making sure he ate well and took rest.
But Arthit gets worried every time Kongpob throws up, Kongpob was having it hard. He ate a lot but throws up everything in the end. Rin told Arthit that it was okay, that she also experienced the same when she carried Kongpob. But that didn't stop Arthit's worries, seeing the pale and tired face of the younger he couldn't help but feel an ache in his heart. Kongpob kept assuring him that it was okay and that he was strong to handle these.
P'Arthit, I'm fine. These small experiences make me feel more real that I'm pregnant. It's for our baby, and I'll gladly accept everything for the little one.
Arthit smiled to himself remembering the younger's words. Has he ever told that he was falling head over heels for the latter all over again?
"Sir, we're here." Arthit glanced at the driver who politely smiled at him. He nodded his head, glancing back at his lover who had lips parted, breathing softly.
"Kong," Arthit tapped on Kongpob's cheeks softly.
"Baby, we're here." Arthit chuckled when Kongpob whined. He watched the latter slowly open his eyes, blinking as he registered his surroundings.
"We're already here?" Kongpob asked softly.
Arthit smiled, "You slept for an hour baby."
Kongpob pouted, scratching the back of his neck he stretched, rubbing away the sleepiness.
"Ready to go?" Arthit brushed Kongpob's hair. Kongpob smiled, nodding his head.
Getting out of the car, Kongpob gasped as he roamed his eyes over the house in front of him. He gulped, the house was huge, two-storied, but huge. He could see why Arthit liked planting. The bungalow in front of him had a lot of plants, hanging and many on the sides. There were plants everywhere, and beautiful flowers bloomed on them. Kongpob found himself smiling at the beauty of the place.
It gave a homely appearance to the place, the walls were a combination of white and ash. The front door made of glass, he could see the inside walls were brown.
"What do you think?" Arthit slipped his hand around Kongpob's waist.
Kongpob smiled, "It's beautiful, P'Arthit. There are a lot of flowers! They're soo beautiful!"
Arthit smiled wide seeing the younger jumping like a kid as he looked around the house.
"Let's get inside, it's almost time for lunch. Don't want Mae to eat our head, do we?"
Kongpob giggled as he nodded, forgetting his insecurities about the situation. The house looked soo welcoming that he felt he was in his own house.
Arthit lead Kongpob to the front door, pressed his thumb on the fingerprint detector outside. They heard a click next, Arthit opened the glass door, letting themselves inside.
"Arthit is home."
Kongpob jumped when he heard a robotic sound resonate inside the house.
"It's a detector, only family members can enter this way. The computer analyses the fingerprint and announces who is inside the house." Arthit explained to Kongpob who was still in awe.
"This is really awesome!" Kongpob smiled excitedly.
"Come, let's get inside," Arthit pulled Kongpob closer to him as they walked along the corridor. It was a wood made wall separating the living room. You had to pass the small corridor and turn in at the end to enter the inside of the house. The corridor blocked the inside view from the outside.
Kongpob gasped as he entered the hall, it was a huge living room, most of the walls were glass. The living room was massive, an army group could fit inside. There were plants inside too, the sunlight passing through the glass windows making the inside glow. The dining room was close by, almost 12 people could sit around the dining table.
"Arthit!"
Kongpob blinked from his trance when he heard the voice of a lady.
"Mom!" Kongpob smiled when Arthit rushed to the lady and hugged her tight, almost swiping her off her feet.
"My big boy! I missed you!" Achara patted Arthit's shoulder, kissing his cheek.
Kongpob nervously stood at his place, fidgeting with his hands. He heard footsteps soon and sounds of a child giggling making him look around. He soon found Arthit's Pa, his brother and his wife walking down the stairs excitedly. Aaron had a toddler in his arms.
"Kong!" Kongpob was startled when Achara came to hug him, he was too focused on the little guy in Arthit's brother's arms.
"Mae," Kongpob gave a nervous smile as he hugged Achara.
"I'm soo happy to finally meet you son! Aw! You look more handsome than on the computer!" Achara cupped Kongpob's face and kissed his forehead.
"T-thank you, Mae." Kongpob blushed, glancing at Arthit who was now being hugged by Aaron.
Kongpob found himself getting busy with the family hugging him and excitedly expressing their delight in seeing him in person. David, Arthit's Pa welcomed Kongpob to the family with wide smiles, hugging him and joking around. Kongpob felt that David was more lively when met in person than on calls.
Aaron was soo excited seeing his brother's lover, he had even thanked Kongpob for taking care of his brother and being a support to him when they weren't there for him.
Even Aaron's wife, Lisa, expressed how happy she was to meet Kongpob finally. They had talked through video calls but this felt as if it was the first time they ever saw eachother. Kongpob felt soo happy for being welcomed with such happy faces. Arthit kept glancing at him and asking him silently if he was okay, to which Kongpob replied positively.
What excited Kongpob was handling the two-year-old toddler, Titan, who clutched on to him since Kongpob introduced himself to the little guy. Those black round eyes staring at him, the small pink lips stretched across the chubby pale cheeks as he grabbed on Kongpob's face and mumbled incoherent words melted Kongpob. He didn't usually see the little guy during calls since he would be either sleeping or too busy with his nanny.
Titan's sight made Kongpob think how their baby would look like. Will their baby have more of Arthit's feature or his? He wanted their baby to have Arthit's eyes, those captivating orbs that always remind him of love. He what their little human to be a combination of them. Was it wrong of him to wish so? He didn't care. He was in his happiest phase of time, and he's going to treasure each ounce of it.
"Titan seems to like you, he doesn't usually be friendly with strangers." Lisa smiled fondly at the two.
"Kong is a charmer," Aroon winked at his wife, the rest laughed while Kongpob blushed trying to hide his face using Titan.
"Who wouldn't fall for him?" Arthit voice out unconsciously, he was zoned out watching Kongpob interact with Titan. His imagination running miles.
"You're too much in love, brother." Aroon smiled, all of them bursting into a fit of laughter.
Arthit blinked, coming back to his senses realising what he said. The teasing smile from Aaron not helping him. He felt himself blush with the amount of knowing glances he was receiving.
"He's whipped," David exclaimed.
"Kong hadsume," Titan dabbed his tiny palm over Kongpob's shoulder making him coo at the little guy.
"See! Even Titan agrees!" Achara pointed out, silently melting at the bonding of the two new members of their family.
Arthit smiled, watching Kongpob bump his nose with his nephew making the little guy giggle. The sight brought an unknown warmth to him, making him want to hold Kongpob in his arms and pepper him with kisses.
"The lunch is all ready! I'll set the table," Achara caressed her son's shoulder, as she excused herself.
"I'll help!" Kongpob volunteered. Trying to hand over Titan to Lisa, but the little boy was clinging onto him.
Achara shook her head, "You might be tired from the journey, don't worry about it, Kong. Relax. Please feel at home."
Kongpob smiled, feeling warm with the attention he received.
"Yeah, I'll help Mae. I don't think Titan is going to leave you any time soon." Lisa giggled.
Kongpob chuckled, caressing the little boy's back. "I'll look after him P."
"Ok then, let's get seated." David pulled Arthit by his shoulder as they all walked towards the dining table. Taking their seats.
David took the seat in the middle, the chair to his left was kept vacant for Achara, Arthit sat to his right, Kongpob joining him too with Titan in his arms. Aaron took the seat opposite to Kongpob.
Soon the table was filled with laughter, David and Aaron embarrassing Arthit by telling stories of his childhood to Kongpob who had a great time laughing. Titan laughing along when he sees his beautiful uncle laughing. He already had his head on Kongpob's chest, fumbling with the elder's shirt button with his tiny fingers.
"Then he had the whole pickle water over his head! I could smell it for two days on him!" Aaron laughed out loud along with the others.
Arthit shook his head, smiling to himself seeing how well they were enjoying teasing him. He glanced at Kongpob who was laughing, tears on his eyes which he wiped. Arthit found himself smiling wider staring at his fiancé. The beautiful smile on the younger's face, making him look glowing.
"Kong won't disappear, P' Arthit." Lisa teased her brother-in-law as she walked with Achara and the maid to place the dishes on the table.
Kongpob glanced at Arthit, his laughter coming to a stop as he blushed when Arthit winked at him. He chuckled to himself when Arthit nudged their foot under the table.
"Arthit told me that you don't like spicy food. So we made these especially for you," Achara smiled warmly as she placed some dishes in front of Kongpob.
Kongpob smiled wide, showing his perfect set of white tooth, inhaling the aroma of the food placed in front of him he could feel his mouth-watering.
"Thank you soo much Mae." Kongpob bowed.
"Oh please, it's for my son. No formalities here," Achara caressed Kongpob's hair as she placed food on the younger's plate.
Kongpob glanced at Arthit, who smiled softly at him. He bit his lips, keeping himself from tearing up at the amount of sincere affection.
"Titan already slept? I'll take him," Lisa walked towards Kongpob after she helped Aaron to choose the dishes he wants to eat among the numerous ones on the table.
Kongpob smiled when Titan whined, he chuckled when Lisa directed an apologetic look.
"It's okay P'Lisa, I can manage with him. Let him sleep."
"Am really sorry Kong, he didn't sleep well at night. He was playing with Pa and Aaron until you guys came. He might be tired." Lisa reasoned.
"It's okay P, I'm glad that I can be of help for Titan to sleep. Let him be." Kongpob placed a hand on Lisa's shoulder, assuring her.
"How will you eat then?" Aaron asked, concerned.
"I will mana-"
"I will feed him," Arthit interrupted Kongpob, without glancing at Kongpob he took the younger's plate that was served by his mom.
"No words," Aaron raised his hands, chuckling. The four shared a smile seeing how Kongpob look flustered while Arthit was having a wide smile on his lips as he separated the bones of the fish on Kongpob's plate.
"P'Arthit, I can manage. You can have your food." Kongpob whispered to his lover, blushing in different shades when the others faked a cough.
Arthit raised his eyebrows at the younger, staring into Kongpob eyes making the younger gulp. Arthit took a spoon full of rice and meat, directed it towards Kongpob.
"Come on," Arthit smirked.
"Don't be shy Kong, just play blind towards us." Lisa raised her hand, turning her head towards Aaron and imitating the way Arthit was feeding Kongpob.
"Yeah, we didn't see anything." David took a spoon and started feeding his wife who giggled.
Kongpob facepalmed, he just want to dig a hole and bury himself in it. What did he get into?
"Come on Kong, don't skip your meal." Arthit nudged Kongpob's shoulder.
"I'm not skipping my meal," Kongpob glared at Arthit before he ate the meal, Arthit happily started to feed him.
"Me food," Titan played grabby hands towards Arthit.
Arthit glanced at his brother who nodded at him. With a smile on his face, Arthit took a small amount of rice on the spoon and fed Titan who giggled in Kongpob's arms.
Lisa and Aaron shared a smile at eachother, finding the entire scene adorable. Lisa took out her phone and clicked a few pictures of her son with his uncles.
"How is the food Kong? Is it up to your taste?" Achara asked, smiling warmly at the couple.
Kongpob glanced at Achara, swallowing his food he nodded his head. " It's delicious Mae! I loved it!"
"I'm glad."
Kongpob turned towards Arthit, glaring at the elder who looked back at him innocently while directing the spoon towards him.
Kongpob bit his lips, trying not to laugh at the tickling sensation of the elder's toes tracing over his leg.
"P'Arthit, stop." Kongpob clenched his jaws.
"What? I didn't do anything," Arthit shrugged his shoulders, eating his meal along with feeding the younger.
"P'Arthit, I swea-"
Kongpob cleared his throat, feeling the food he ate rushing up the path it went down. He blinked, trying to push away the feeling. But it didn't help when Arthit placed a spoon full of rice near his lips, the smell suddenly making him uncomfortable.
Gagging Kongpob closed his mouth. Suddenly standing up from the chair, he handed Titan to Arthit who sat there dumbfounded and rushed to the sink and threw up the little food he had.
Titan's cries echoing his ears as he threw up, he soon felt a warm hand on his back, patting and caressing him. Gasping for air, he turned the tap on, washing his mouth. Feeling dizzy, he always felt dizzy after throwing up. And he didn't like that feeling one bit.
"Baby, you okay?" Arthit pulled Kongpob towards him, hugging him.
Kongpob took deep breathes, steadying himself in the warmth of his fiancé. "Yeah, just feels dizzy."
Arthit placed a kiss on Kongpob's forehead, "Okay, let's sit down."
Kongpob nodded, completely forgetting about the four pairs of eyes on them.
"Have some water, dear." Achara handed a glass of water to Arthit after Kongpob sat down. Passing the glass to Kongpob the younger took large gulps of the drink. Letting out a pleased sigh after drinking the water.
"Is he okay P'Arthit?" Aaron asked confirmed.
Arthit blinked, coming back to his senses at the question. He was busy caressing Kongpob's hair as the latter rested his head on his stomach as he stood beside him.
Kongpob gulped. Suddenly feeling tensed. What was he going to do?
Looking up at Arthit, he was directed with a dimpled smile making him smile back. They stared at eachother, Arthit could sense the worry in Kongpob but he was sure that it'll vanish in a minute.
Nodding their head at eachother, Arthit looked at his confused family.
"Where is Lisa?" Arthit questioned when he didn't see his sister-in-law.
"She went to feed Titan, he cried, remember." David pointed out.
"I-I'm sorry," Kongpob apologized, a small pout forming on his lips at the thought of Titan crying because of him.
"No! No! Kong, it's not your fault. Titan is still a baby, and babies will cry. It's natural, you did a good job handing him to Arthit." Achara smiled softly at the younger.
Kongpob bit his lips, nodding his head. He felt himself shiver when Arthit placed his hand on his shoulder and caressed it, giving him support.
"Arthit, Kong, is there something you want to tell us?" David asked noticing how nervous Kongpob was.
"Yeah, is Kong okay? You can go to Arthit's room and rest, you look really tired, honey." Achara voiced out, concerned.
Kongpob shook his head, "I'm fine Mae."
Arthit smiled, "Well, we want to tell you something."
Kongpob visibly straightened at the statement. Gulping down the lumps in his throat he gave a thin smile.
"You're scaring us, what is it?" Aaron asked, he was getting confused with all the eye signals his brother and his lover was giving to eachother.
"Well," Arthit took Kongpob's left hand in his.
"I proposed to him, a few weeks ago," Arthit raised Kongpob's hand intertwined with his, a silver band shining in Kongpob's ring finger.
"What!? And you're telling us now!?" Achara shot up from her seat.
"Oh my!" Aaron rushed towards the couple and hugged them. "Congratulations!"
"I'm not talking to you! You didn't tell us!" David sat there, his arms against his chest, sulking at his son.
"Aw Pa, I'm sorry," Arthit walked towards his father and wounded his arms around his neck.
David removed Arthit's hand and stood up, giving his back to Arthit as he went to hug Kongpob.
"Welcome to the family Kong, we're soo happy to have you as our son-in-law. At least we don't have to deal with that dumbass of our son." David scoffed making Kongpob laugh.
"Sorry guys, for not telling you." Kongpob apologized, bowing his head in an apology.
"No! No! P'Arthit is the one who should apologize," Aaron raised an eyebrow at Arthit, his as crossed against his chest.
"Excuse me? Who's your son? Me or him?" Arthit pouted jokingly.
"Of course him!" The three voiced out together making all of them laugh.
"Hey! Hey! What did I miss!?" Lisa rushed towards them, Titan already sleeping in their room.
"Well, P' Arthit proposed to Kong! They're engaged!" Aaron exclaimed.
Lisa's eyes widened, "Oh my god! Congratulations guys!"
Kongpob smiled, standing up from his seat as he hugged Lisa who was practically jumping.
"Finally!" Lisa fist-bumped Arthit who smirked at her.
Even though Lisa was their in-law she had a very good relationship with Arthit. Arthit took care of her as his own sister. The elder was there to support her all along. Lisa had seen how much Arthit had suffered in his previous marriage. She and Aaron got married after Arthit's marriage. She had seen how much love Arthit gave to his ex-wife but it wasn't returned, their marriage was false from the beginning. She was the happiest when they got divorced, don't get her wrong.
And now, seeing Arthit with Kongpob, filled with happiness and joy, she could see how the two of them were head over heels for eachother. She could see it in Kongpob's eyes, how much the younger loved her brother-in-law. She was damn sure that Kongpob was meant for Arthit and the other way around too, the glow emitting from Arthit was the proof. She had never seen Arthit soo happy before.
"And there is one more news we would like to share with you guys," Arthit walked towards Kongpob, circling his arms around the latter's waist making the younger feel tremors down him. Arthit's finger was caressing over his waist bringing butterflies in him.
"You guys are full of suspense, what is it?!" Aaron stood on his heels, waiting excitedly for what his brother was going to say.
"P'Arthit," Kongpob whispered. He felt as if the whole weight of the world was upon him.
Turning to his lover, Arthit smiled, kissing the other's forehead in encouragement. Assuring the other that everything is going to be fine.
Arthit remembered the words Rin told to him after disclosing about Kongpob's childhood.
It might be in the past Arthit, but Kongpob still has that fear deep down. Earlier he didn't know the reason behind those words or actions, now that he knows he will fear about losing his loved ones. You know how much he treasures people close to him. Even if he's happy to carry a child, these insecurities will stay inside him. Now that he's pregnant, his hormones will make it difficult for him to not overthink. I know you'll be there for him, and I'm really thankful for that.
Arthit knows Kongpob is really worried, the society was like that, even if most of the people supported them, yet a few people's harsh words might trigger things. It was human's nature, a million might speak out words in your favour, but a single one's criticism will keep repeating in your head and put you down.
And Arthit was going to put an end to this, even if he assured Kongpob the younger wasn't convinced. He knows his parents very well to know how they'll react.
"Stop ogling at him and cut the suspense already Arthit." Achara giggled.
Breaking from the trance, Arthit cleared his throat, feeling his ears get hot. He sometimes regretted coming to his house, with these freaky people here.
"Okay," gulping down Arthit felt suddenly nervous. Pulling his lover closer, he slid his hand on Kongpob's tummy, feeling a smile spread onto his lips.
"Kongpob is pregnant."
Complete silence enveloped the dining room. Even the maids inside the house rushed out of the kitchen when they heard Arthit's words. They stood by the kitchen door with a smile, expectantly waiting for the elder's reaction.
"Sorry, come again?" David blinked.
Arthit wanted to laugh out loud seeing the statued faces of his family.
"I and Kongpob are going to be parents, Kong is three weeks pregnant."
"Oh shoot! You're not joking right!?" Lisa jumped up and down, her palm covering her mouth.
"Nope, sister." Arthit chuckled.
"Gosh! We're going to be grandparents again!" Achara hugged her husband who laughed out loud at how excited his wife was.
"When did you guys find out?!" Aaron enquired, a wide smile on his lips.
"Three days ago," Arthit rested his chin on Kongpob's shoulder.
"Relax baby," Arthit whispered to Kongpob feeling the younger was standing like a statue in his arms.
Kongpob gasped for air, realising he was holding his breath the whole time. Slowly turning towards Arthit, the excited noises of the family members sending prickles down him. Launching himself on Arthit, he hugged the latter tight, letting his tears fall. He felt soo overwhelmed. He kept thinking positively the whole time he was inside the house but when it actually came true his whole being felt as if it was floating. He felt soo light and relaxed suddenly.
"There, there, my baby is soo happy I see." Arthit kissed the latter's neck.
"I-I'm P'Arthit, I'm." Kongpob sniffled, not minding if others were watching him or not. He wanted to hug his fiancé, drown in the warmth of his lover.
Arthit smiled, glancing up to see his parents smiling fondly at them. Aaron and Lisa were even taking pictures. Arthit now believed in destiny.
He had cursed himself when he had been with his ex-wife, he kept disappointed in himself, that's what he was feeling. He cursed his destiny and his life, he had made himself believe that no one will ever love him the way he wants to be loved. That no one will treasure him the way he wants to be. He was a human too, he had a heart too. He felt down knowing people didn't want to see his side which wasn't of business smiles and money.
But now, with Kongpob in his arms, both of them sharing tears of happiness in the expecting journey of their life growing inside Kongpob, Arthit believed in himself again. Because Kongpob always made him feel that he was treasured, the younger didn't give him the chance to think that he was a disappointment. Kongpob gave him a type of love he believed that never existed, he received the kind of love from him, way beyond what he wanted for himself.
The chocolate skinned guy in his arms, his lips forming a pout as he tried to control his tears, burying his face in his chest, was all he needed in his life. He felt complete, felt soo happy that he was scared to lose him.
They're going to step into a new phase of their life, and Arthit promised himself that he'll be there for Kongpob. Do his best as a partner and supporter for the younger.
