"Oon! Look who's here!"
The 7-year-old boy who was busy playing in the garden looked up at his mother, finding another figure beside her.
"Uncle Kerkkrai!" The boy's eyes widened in excitement. He immediately ran to the elder male who smiled wide at him.
Kerkkrai caught the 7-year-old in his arms with a big smile on his face. "Hey there, baby boy!"
"I'm not a baby, Uncle!" Arthit pouted.
"Ah! Yes-yes! Apologise young man!" Kerkkrai's words made the younger one giggle.
"So how is my Arthit today? I heard that you got first in running yesterday." Kerkkrai walked back inside the house, Achara chuckling beside him watching her son beam in Kerkkrai's hold.
"Yes! I came first! We were a total of 8 students!"
"I'm soo proud of you," Kerkkrai ruffled the younger's hair making Arthit giggle, showing his dimples.
"Where is Aunty?" Arthit asked suddenly, trying to look past Kerkkrai.
"Well, we have a surprise for you." Kerkkrai playfully wiggled his eyebrows.
"Surprise? Really Mom?" Arthit turned to face Achara, checking if what his uncle told was really true.
Achara laughed, "Yes, Oon. We have a surprise for you."
"What surprise?" Arthit got impatient, wiggling out of Kerkkrai's arms.
"For that I want you to keep quiet."
Arthit's eyebrows furrowed at his uncle's instruction. But he nodded nevertheless. Making an action of zipping his lips, the action made the two adults laugh.
"Remember that Aunty Rin had a baby inside her belly?" Achara placed her hands on her son's shoulders as they slowly walked towards the living room. She smiled when Arthit nodded his head.
"You wanna see the baby?"
Arthit's eyes sparkled, he jumped excitedly, repeatedly saying yes to his mother's question. The two elders chuckled at the excited child.
"Ok, but before that, you have to wash your hands and make sure you don't wake your baby brother, Ok?"
"Brother?" Arthit smiled wide, he's soo happy that he will have someone to play with now.
Kerkkrai and Achara shared a laugh as they watched Arthit rush to the bathroom to wash his hands.
"I'll be with Rin," Kerkkrai informed before he walked to the living room where his wife was seated with their newborn son.
When Kerkkrai stepped to the living room a smile adorned his lips, seeing his wife cradle their baby boy in her arms. Whispering white noises.
"Hey," Kerkkrai whispered as he took a seat beside Rin.
Rin looked up at her husband, smiling wide. "Where is he?"
"Went to wash his hands." Rin giggled at the reply. Shaking her head.
"I'm sure he will be excited when we finally reveal the surprise," Rin couldn't contain her smile and Kerkkrai chuckled, wrapping his arm around his wife's shoulder.
"He sure will."
Just a minute later a very excited Arthit rushed to the room, Achara behind him, smiling. Arthit immediately stopped in his tracks when he saw Rin and the little bundle in her arms.
He glanced between Rin and Kerkkrai, innocent eyes filled with nervousness. He took cautious steps towards the couple when Kerkkrai signalled him to come forward. The action made the three elders chuckle.
"Why don't you come closer and take a look at your brother?" Rin smiled, encouraging the other.
Arthit gulped, he whispered. "Will I wake him up?"
"I'm sure you won't. You're a good boy, Oon." Rin nodded her head, encouraging the boy to step forward with her free hand.
Arthit turned back to look at Achara who was seated on the couch opposite to the other couple. Achara nodded her head, assuring Arthit to walk ahead.
The 7-year-old tried his best to not make any noise as he stepped forward, tip-toeing towards the couch. He was made to sit between Achara and Kerkkrai, trying to peek to get a glimpse of the baby.
"Here you go."
Arthit's eyes widened when Rin turned towards him, slowly placing the small bundle on his lap. He immediately held it in his arms. His lips parted in awe when the sight of a small face came in view. Small hands lying on the chest, breathing even and small delicate lips parted.
"He's soo cute," Arthit whispered, not wanting to wake the baby up. His words made the others giggle.
The three elders shared a smile as they watched Arthit lean forward to place a soft kiss on the baby's forehead. Nuzzling his face on the little one's head.
"He smells soo good."
Rin laughed, the 7-year-old looked soo innocent as he stared at the baby boy in amazement. "I know right? Baby smells sweet, Oon."
"He's soo cute!" Arthit couldn't help but exclaim as his fingers traced the baby's face. Cooing when the little one parted his lips, letting small baby sounds in his sleep.
"His name is Kongpob." Kerkkrai smiled, his heart softened at how gentle Arthit was around the baby.
Arthit smiled wide, dimples in display as he giggled. The little one had grabbed his finger in his small hold and it made Arthit happy.
"Can I call him Kong?" Arthit looked up at his uncle.
Kerkkrai chuckled, "Of course, you can, Arthit."
"See, Mom! Kong is soo cute!" Arthit whispered but the excitement was evident in his voice as he showed the baby boy to his mother.
"Yes, Arthit. He is indeed adorable." Achara smiled softly at her son. She knew how much Arthit loved children, it wasn't like she didn't want to give her firstborn a sibling but it wasn't possible for her. The doctor had told her she had very slim chances of getting pregnant after her first one. And she and her husband, David, did try but it wasn't happening.
But now, seeing Arthit with her best friends' son, she felt content. Arthit will have someone to play with now, to be close to, like a brother.
Little Kongpob was just a month old, Achara and David weren't able to visit their best friend's first child at the hospital since they were out of town for business. Arthit was with them too. They just returned a week ago. When they decided to visit them at their house, Kerkkrai told them to not, that they were planning to come over next week along with a piece of exciting news for them.
"And we have one more surprise for you." Rin wiggled her eyebrows at Arthit, a sly smile on her lips.
Arthit tilted his head, "More Surprise?"
Rin glanced at Kerkkrai and Achara who held their smiles, seeing Arthit turn his gaze to the three of them in confusion.
"Well, your Uncle Kerkkrai and Aunt Rin are moving to the house next to ours."
As soon as Arthit registered the words in his head his eyes widened, shock and thrill evident on his face. He was ready to hug Kerkkrai and Rin in excitement but he was reminded of the baby in his arms.
"Oh my god! Then I can see Kong all day! I can play with him after school!"
Others laughed at how Arthit's chubby cheeks flushed red with excitement. But the laughter soon died down when a shrill cry escaped from the small being in Arthit's arms, arms and legs raised as cries turned louder.
Arthit's eyes widened, his lips formed to a pout, eyes watered when he realised it was him who woke the baby boy up. But he was determined to not trouble his uncle and aunty for what he did.
"Shh-Shh! I'm sorry, please don't cry. Kong is a good boy." Arthit started to gently rock the baby in his arms. Even though the 7-year-old's hands weren't big enough to carry little Kongpob around he perfectly managed it by comfortably leaning on the sofa and pulling the small body close to his chest, continuing to rock him.
"Look-look! I'm P'Arthit, your new friend. See, we're gonna play all day from now. Are you excited?"Arthit's little finger traced Kongpob's small face, wiping the tears that slipped from the corner of the eyes.
Arthit continued to make white noises, the elders were too stunned to speak as they watched the 7-year-old calm the crying baby down. Rin blinked, gaping at Arthit and back at her son. Just with words and soft rocking Arthit was able to calm Kongpob down, it took almost half an hour or more for Rin to calm his son whenever the baby starts to cry unless she feeds him milk on the spot.
Arthit giggled, smiling wide as the baby calmed down. Now staring back at him with large charcoal eyes, lips forming an 'O' as small baby voices escaped the delicate pink lips.
"Hi there, baby Kong. You're cute." Arthit pecked on the baby's cheek and a beautiful giggle escaped the little one's lips. Making the adults coo at them.
"See! I and Kong are friends now," Arthit giggled, looking up at the elders. He wished his father was there to watch him calm baby Kong but unfortunately his father was at the office. But he's surely gonna tell how he made a new friend that day.
"I'm proud of you Arthit. You stopped his cry, he definitely likes you." Rin smiled, planting a kiss on Arthit's forehead.
Arthit smiled, looked down at the little one who grabbed the collar of his t-shirt. Innocently looking back at him, giving him a toothless baby smile.
"I like you too, baby Kong!"
He bumped their noses together and little Kongpob's fingers immediately reached up to catch the elder one's nose, pulling him further close, giggling showing his toothless smile once again. And Arthit couldn't stop adoring the little one.
Arthit's jaw clenched, hands fisted in either side. He made his way towards the building in front of him. His face flushed red.
"Arthit! Wait! Man! Are you gonna kill that kid? It wasn't a big-"
Arthit snapped his gaze at his friend, "Bright."
Bright zipped his lips with his fingers, "Nope! I didn't say anything!"
He groaned as soon as he watched Arthit turn around and make his way ahead. He jogged to reach the other's pace. Bright couldn't help but curse himself for saying what his brother had told him to his friend. Well, he was concerned too but he didn't think Arthit would turn to an angry Hulk after hearing that.
He had been friends with the latter from grade 4 and he should have expected this, after all the younger boy was Arthit's baby, his precious boy.
Bright couldn't help but curse his luck. Knott, their other friend, wasn't there too. If the latter had been there it would be easy to calm Arthit down. His friend had to be absent on this very day.
"They're just in 3rd grade, Arthit." Bright tried to calm the male down but guess it was not working since Arthit didn't pay him any attention.
Bright gave his nervous smiles to all the students they had passed by, everyone stared strangely at the senior boys, they knew the two were high-schoolers from the opposite building. And of course, they were familiar with that two faces, especially the one with an angry scowl on his face, it wasn't the first time the elder had stepped inside their elementary grade building.
"Where is Kong?" Arthit stepped into a classroom, roaming his eyes around the class.
"P'Arthit!" The few students who were in class smiled at the familiar face but soon gave a confused gaze to eachother as they watched the elder glare all around the room.
"Nongs! Please tell me where Kongpob is!" Bright pleaded beside Arthit, he never thought he would be begging 3rd-grade students like today.
"We don't know, it's interval now. Maybe he is with Aim at the playground." One of the students replied, genuinely confused.
"Ron is not here either, is he fighting with Kong again?"
"He might be stealing Kong's lunch again."
A not soo soft whispering was heard in the class and Arthit's ears immediately caught it. His face burned with anger.
Arthit didn't utter a word as he turned around and jogged away. Bright gave a thumbs up to the confused students before following his friend.
Bright gulped as they stepped into the playground. The chattering and laughter of students echoed the place and Bright didn't know what was going to happen.
He took a deep breath, convincing himself that it was going to be ok. He just followed the way Arthit went, and he wasn't even sure they could spot the three boys in the sea of students.
"Ron! Stop it! Leave Kong alone and give back his lunch."
Arthit's step halted, Bright who was behind him bumped into him, hurting his nose in the process. But Arthit didn't give an ear to his friend's grunts.
His eyes darted to where he heard the voice, a few seconds of search, he saw the person he had been searching for. Surrounded by a few other students. Probably waiting to see what drama was going to make its way.
"Oh Aim," Bright gasped behind Arthit, seeing his brother shield his friend's precious boy.
"Why should I? He's already scraggy like this. He's going to stay like a skeleton even if he eats or not."
Arthit's palms clutched into a whitening grip as he heard some of the students chuckle and laugh at the comment.
"No! I'm not!" Arthit's face softened when he heard the mellow voice of his precious, he gulped, staring at the deep charcoal eyes that were pooling with unshed tears.
"Go away, skinny Kong! Let me have your delicious food!" The taller boy stepped forward to push the shorter boy, making the other stumble backwards.
"Stop!"
Everyone froze on their spots as they heard an angry growl. Turning to the source of voice they gulped, finding two senior students standing behind them.
Arthit rushed to the younger boy who was in Aim's hold now, he gathered the little man in his arms.
"P-P'Arthit," rosy lips trembled as charcoal eyes met the elder's hazel ones. The little one's face morphed with fear.
Arthit smiled assuringly at the younger as after he caressed the other's messy hair, he knew the other didn't like to ruin his hair. Now he understood how the younger's always perfectly set hair seemed like a hurricane had passed through it when he goes to pick the other up after class.
"Kongpob, why didn't you tell me?"
Kongpob bit his lips, trying to not cry as he hung his head low. It hurt when the elder called him by his full name unless he was angry or sulking at him. And here he knew Arthit was very angry at him.
A sob escaped his lips when Arthit's hold on him vanished. He felt scared and down that Arthit saw him like this. He wanted to be strong in front of the elder male.
"Why did you do that, Khun Ron?"
Arthit's cold voice send shivers down everyone, including Kongpob who was trying to stop his sobs.
"I-Uh-I-" Ron gulped, seeing a senior student in their block scared him. And he knows that Kongpob is very close to the elder male in front of him.
"You're bullying him." Arthit crossed his arms against his chest. Glaring at the smaller boy.
"You're just in 3rd grade and you start bullying your classmates, what will you do when someone comes and calls you fatty and take away your lunch so you can become 'thin'?"
Ron's eyes widened. He bit his inner cheek, feeling anger rise in him.
"How old are you, Ron? Children of this age shouldn't act like gangsters. I can't believe I'm having this conversation with a baby who can't understand anything."
"I'm not a baby!"
Arthit smirked. His eyes dangerously stared into the younger's ones. "If you dare to lay a hand on Kong again, you'll suffer."
Ron gulped but he wasn't ready to give up, he glared back at Arthit.
"What will you do? Your brother is just a scary cat, skinny Kong! Why are you defending hi- woh!"
Kongpob snapped his gaze towards Aim who was as shocked as him, witnessing what was happening in front of them.
"Holy crap!" Bright hissed.
"Put me down! Put me down!" Ron trashed his legs and hands, his feet dangling in the air as Arthit's hands clutched on the other's shirt.
"I'm not hurting you since you're a kid! No one messes with Arthit Rojnapath and if anyone dares to mess with Kong they'll face my wrath too! Do I make myself clear to you?"
Ron gulped, nodding his head repeatedly.
"No one has the right to bully anyone. Clear!?"
Arthit still held the boy in the air, to the point that the kid started to shed tears in fear. Staring at the scary face of the senior boy.
It frustrated him as he couldn't even let out his anger with a punch or a fight, the kid was too little for that. This was the only way he could react to this.
"P'Arthit!" Kongpob rushed towards the elder's side. Wiping his tears away. His fingers gripped onto Arthit's black uniform shorts, looking up at the male with innocent sparkling orbs.
"Leave me, Kongpob." Arthit gritted his teeth as he glanced at Kongpob and then turned his attention to the boy crying in his hold.
"Please P! Please put him down. He won't do it again." Kongpob pleaded, he didn't want Arthit to get in trouble. His innocent mind told him that Ron would do harsher things to his P'Arthit if the elder gets angry with him.
When Arthit didn't budge Kongpob hugged the elder's legs.
"P'Oon Kharp...please?"
Arthit closed his eyes. His breathing was heavy for a totally different reason. He glanced at his precious little one, melting at the sight of those pleading dark orbs. A sigh left his lips the next second, his grip loosened.
With a yelp he landed on the floor, sitting on the concrete floor. Gaping and in tears.
"I'm sorry, P'Oon." Kongpob's pouty lips trembled as he hugged Arthit's legs. Not wanting to hear his favourite person scold and reprimand him.
Arthit sighed, his eyes darted around the playground, some students had reached up to help Ron even though the little boy was throwing a mini tantrum. He stepped forward, kneeling to take Kongpob's lunch box that was on the floor. He caught the younger one's hand in his and marched towards a bench that was at the corner of the playground. Away from the crowd.
Kongpob looked back at his friend, Aim, as he was being dragged. He nodded his head when his friend and his brother, Bright gave him an encouraging smile.
The younger one silently followed Arthit, even though he panicked when the bell rang, indicating the interval was over, he didn't utter a word. He didn't have to fear when Arthit was beside him.
"Sit."
Kongpob obediently sat on the bench, head hung low as his small arms wrapped around his tummy.
Arthit shook his head, chuckling, the anger he had a few seconds ago completely vanished as he saw the adorable little boy in front of him. He took a seat beside Kongpob, proceeding to open the lunch box. The sandwich that was inside wasn't completely ruined, so he assembled it, making sure it doesn't fall out before placing the lunch box on Kongpob's lap.
Charcoal eyes looked up at him, pooling with tears.
"Eat now, you might be hungry." Arthit smiled, showing his dimples.
Kongpob gasped, "Y-You are not angry at me?"
"Yes, I am."
A tear slid down the small puffy cheek.
"I'm angry that you didn't tell me he was taking your lunch for almost two months. Why didn't you tell me, Kong? Didn't you trust your P'Oon?"
Kongpob sniffled, "I-I was scared. Ron told me you all will tease me more because what he said was true."
Arthit rolled his eyes, irritated at what that boy had made Kongpob believe in.
"Kong, you're just in 3rd grade. There's nothing about being thin or fit. You're my strong little Kong. Aren't you?" Arthit reached over to cup the younger's cheeks, wiping his tears away.
"Aren't you, baby?" Arthit whimpered softly, smiling at the younger.
Kongpob looked up to stare into the hazel eyes, smiling back through his tears as he nodded his head.
"Tell me something, Kong. Is there any reason why he's doing this to you?"
Arthit gave an encouraging smile, letting Kongpob take his time. He knows there might be some reason the younger's classmate was doing this, he wants to know what happened.
"I don't know, P'Arthit." Kongpob innocently stared back at the elder.
"You sure?" Arthit sighed when Kongpob nodded his head. "Then, from when did this start? Did you say something wrong to him or did you both fight?"
Kongpob blinked, trying to think of something that might have caused Ron to be mean to him.
His eyes widened when realisation dawned on him. He wasn't sure if that was the matter but he was going to tell everything to Arthit. He doesn't want to make the elder worried again, it scared if when he saw his P'Oon angry a few minutes ago.
"One day teacher asked for our homework. When she asked Ron to show her his book he said he didn't bring it. But I had seen him trying to finish the homework before teacher came to class. I and Aim sit behind his bench. I didn't say anything that time. Teacher got suspicious since he always does that."
Arthit's eyebrows furrowed.
"She told Ron to give her his bag but before that, he threw his notebook on the floor. It came below my bench."
"Mom always told to not throw books on the floor, right P'Arthit?" Arthit chuckled as he nodded to the innocent question of the younger.
"So I picked it up! When teacher saw it she asked what it was so I gave her the book. Ron got scolded." A pout formed on his lips as he reminisced the incident.
"Teacher scolded him asking why he forgot to do the homework. She asked why he never forgot to bring his lunch or eat it but forgot to do homework. He was asked to stand for the whole class! He became angry at me because I was the one who gave his book to our teacher."
Arthit sighed, staring at the younger male who had his head hung low. Feeling guilty.
"Did Ron start to take your lunch after that day?"
Kongpob thought for a second before replying, "Yeah, a few days later I think."
Arthit nodded his head, he brought Kongpob closer to him, wrapping his arms around the little man's shoulder.
"You don't have to feel guilty, Kong. It's not your fault, you did the right thing. You didn't do it deliberately, you were being honest. It's Ron's fault that he didn't accept his mistake and took his anger upon you thinking you were the one who made him feel embarrassed in front of the class."
"What Ron did was wrong. He even convinced you that your family will not support you."
"And let me remind you, Minou"
Kongpob looked up at the elder, smiling at the nickname. He always loved it when Arthit called him that. Arthit told him he reminded him of small cute kittens so he came up with a nickname for Kongpob that only Arthit deserved to call him.
"Our families will always support you, I will support you. You should never feel that you can't say anything to us. If you're afraid to tell our parents you should tell me, ok?"
Kongpob nodded his head, "Kharp P'Arthit."
"Promise?" Arthit placed his little finger in front of the younger.
Kongpob giggled as he locked his pinky finger with the elder. Both laughed as Arthit reached to bump their noses together.
"Now eat, you might be hungry."
Arthit chuckled as he watched Kongpob hurridly take one sandwich from the box and munch on it. His cheeks puffed out adorably, legs swaying, lips pouty. Charcoal eyes meet him from time to time.
After Kongpob finished the sandwich in his hand he took the next one from his lunch box and handed it to Arthit.
"Eat. P'Oon didn't have lunch."
Arthit's insides melted, a smile adorning his lips as he took the sandwich and took the first bite making Kongpob smile wide.
A few minutes in, after they were done with their small lunch a shout was heard from the other end of the playground.
"Kongpob!"
The younger one flinched, his gaze snapped towards the direction of the sound. He gulped seeing one of the teachers glaring towards them."
"And you!" The teacher pointed at Arthit. "Both of you! Come to the principal's office right now!"
Kongpob's eyes widened as he watched the teacher stomp away, "Oh no!"
Arthit stood up nonchalantly, shrugging his shoulders. He pocketed the small lunch box before turning towards the younger male, leaning towards him.
"My Minou will be safe, I guarantee you that."
Kongpob giggled as he was tickled by the elder male, both smiling broadly at eachother. He stood on top of the bench when Arthit signalled him to hop on his back. Soft giggles and laughter escaped the pair of tiny pink lips as Arthit carried him on his back, swirling them around at times. Making both of them laugh.
And just like Arthit promised Kongpob saw how the elder protected him, talking for him. Making the principal understand what really had happened, giving no chance for them to blame or scold Kongpob. Arthit even called Aim to the office to have an eyewitness. Their parents were called when Arthit was adamant an action had to be taken, telling Ron could have actually harmed Kongpob if things would have escalated. He didn't take the excuse of them being 'kids'.
Kongpob felt safe as he always had in the elder's presence, seeing the elder be there for him. Arthit was and always will be his hero.
****
Bright groaned as he rested his head on his palms.
"Because of you two, no freshmen are coming to our table!"
Two pairs of glaring eyes fell on Bright, the latter gulped but still pouted at the two.
"Pouting doesn't suit you, Bright. You look like a frog." Tootah made a gaging action.
Bright glared at his friend, "Looks who's talking! You pig!"
"Pigs are cute!"
"Can you two stop? Keep the face of hazers at least," Knott narrowed his gaze at the two. His reprimand made the two sit back and glare at eachother.
"And you two," Knott pointed at the two males seated beside them.
"Relax, will you? Arthit, Prem, you're not here to kill someone."
Arthit shrugged his shoulders while Prem rolled his eyes. It's not their fault that the juniors were scared of them. And looking on the other side they had to keep their face as the hazers, especially Arthit as the head hazer.
"Don't have any hopes of beautiful juniors coming to us for signatures! I was waiting for this day so I could get hundreds of phone numbers!"
A smack landed on Brights head making the guy glare at the person beside him.
"Your only thought is to flirt with girls!" Tootah rolled his eyes. Being with the latter was a huge headache.
"I'm gonna lose my image as a head hazer if I sit with you guys." Arthit groaned, sipping onto his favourite PinkMilk. "I need new friends."
Prem chuckled, patting Arthit's shoulder. "Too late my friend. You're stuck with us."
Arthit's groan made everyone chuckle with Bright sticking his tongue at the latter.
It was a surprise that they five formed a group as such. Sure Bright, Knott and Arthit had been together from school days, they even got to join the same University. On the first day as freshmen they met Tootah and Prem, the two somehow managed to get into their vibes. Forming an unusual bond with eachother. From then on, they had always been together for everything. They insult eachother, prank and tease the other but in the end, they love eachother. If one has a need the other four is always ready to be with the other.
"I agree that it's boring like this," Tootah pouted as he gazed around the campus canteen. The buzzing of freshmen caught his eyes. All the juniors were asking signatures from the seniors to fill their signature books. Their first hazing task.
"Arthit, you scared the freshmen a little too much." Tootah pointed out. It had been three days after the first task had been given out and yet not even a single student had approached them for their signature.
Arthit shrugged his shoulders, "Our hazing wasn't very easy either. I'm being a little considerate compared to them. So be happy on that."
Knott chuckled beside Arthit.
"P'Arthit Kharp!"
Five heads snapped their heads towards the source of the voice. Four of their eyes widened while a wide smile bloomed on the other's face.
"P'Arthit!"
Arthit stood up, gathering the boy who ran towards him in his arms. Smiling wide as he lifted the other from the ground, hugging tight. Resting his urge to swirl them around and hear the younger's beautiful laughter. He had a face to keep, he can't be himself at the moment.
"I missed you P'Oon," a whisper was heard. Making Arthit's heart flutter, butterflies swarm in the pit of his stomach.
"I missed you too, Kong."
As they pulled away Arthit could feel several pairs of eyes on them but he didn't care for the moment. As his eyes met the charcoal eyes, smiling wide at him, honey skin glistening.
"Hey, naughty boy! How did you come here?"
"If you take your eyes off your precious little one then you can see."
Arthit turned around, to find Rin and Achara standing beside them. Smiling wide.
"Mom! Aunty!" Arthit reached up to hug them both, his hold on Kongpob's hand intact.
"Why are you here?" He eyed the two elders as he brought Kongpob to stand in front of him, wrapping his arms around the younger one's shoulders. Bringing the unusually warm body close to him.
"Oh please! Kong had been making a fuss! You didn't come home this term break and you know how Kong was sulky. I couldn't stand him so I brought him here." Rin playfully rolled her eyes. Achara chuckles beside him.
Arthit narrowed his eyes at the younger one who looked up at him, a silly smile on his lips. "Did you cut your class, Kong?"
Kongpob gulped, he looked up at his mother for help.
"Well, your Kong is sick. He didn't go to school for three days. He was adamant to see you today so we brought him here. Sorry if we troubled you, Arthit."
Arthit's eyes widened. He turned Kongpob to face him, the little one bit his lips. A smile formed on his face when Arthit checked his forehead and neck.
"Why didn't you tell me?! We video called yesterday!"
Kongpob pouted, "I didn't want to make you worried. And Mom told you are really busy. I know you'll come home if I say I'm sick."
Arthit's jaw clenched, sighing. What the younger told was true. He would have rushed back home as soon his classes and hazing for the day was over. He had always been there when Kongpob got sick and he knew how much the younger wants him to be with him.
"You're staying with me today, Kong." Arthit's stern decision made the elders and Kongpob's eyes to widen.
"But P'Arthit-"
"No buts! You will stay with me till Saturday. I'll take you back home on Sunday morning." Arthit looked up at Rin and Achara, the elders were concerned for a minute but seeing Arthit being stubborn about it they gave in.
"Ok."
The next second Arthit brought Kongpob to their bench, bringing the younger to sit on his lap as he took his seat beside Prem. His friends stared all too knowingly at the two. It wasn't Tootah and Prem's first time seeing the younger male. There had been countless times Kongpob had visited the campus the past two years. The now 13-year-old was even familiar with their whole batch.
"Mom, Aunty, have a seat." Arthit signalled the elder to take a seat beside him after they scooted over to make space. Achara took a seat beside her son while Rin took the opposite seat.
"Hi there Kongpob!" Bright waved his hands at the younger.
"Hi, P'Bright! By the way, Aim misses you!"
Bright chuckled at the remark of his brother.
"Tootah can you buy a mango juice for him? Not the cold one." Arthit handed Tootah his wallet.
"Anything for your prince!" Kongpob giggled when Tootah winked at him.
"You don't want us when you get your Kong in your hands." Achara pouted at her son. It wasn't new to her. From the time Arthit saw Kongpob, as a baby, her son's priority was always on the younger boy.
"Mom!" Arthit whined making all of them laugh, even Kongpob giggled. Clutching onto Arthit's workshop jacket as he rested his head on his chest.
"Look at him being a baby now. You have spoiled him too much, Arthit." Rin teased her son, pointing at Kongpob.
It was true that Kongpob was spoiled by the elder male, more than even his own parents could if Rin has to say. Their bond was special and their parents could see through it. Kongpob was and still is Arthit's spoiled baby. No one would disagree with it.
Kongpob pouted, turning his gaze away from others he snuggled his face onto Arthit's chest. Smiling as he inhaled the familiar cologne.
He had been yearning for Arthit's presence. To feel Arthit close to him. He had missed the elder soo much, he knows Arthit is busy, he knows the elder has soo many responsibilities but he was selfish at times when it came to Arthit. He wanted the elder to himself. And he had tried to control the urge but today was too much. Being alone in his room, sick and tired, without his P'Arthit to take care of him was too hard to endure for him.
Arthit wrapped his arms around the younger. Patting his back, pulling him closer. He could feel the warmth of the younger, the fever was still there.
He eyed his friends who immediately understood what he meant. Arthit then turned his gaze around the cafeteria, glaring at everyone, making the freshmen who were staring at their table snap their gazes back to what they had been previously doing.
Knott and Prem had got up and walked towards the freshmen's side. One order to any one of them was enough to spread it to the whole first-year batch. No one shouldn't spread any news about the 13-year-old that had come to meet the head hazer. Arthit had always been possessive of his family, especially when it comes to the younger boy.
All of them chatted, Arthit throwing glares at every single person who was walking past their table. When it was time for them to go back to classes Rin and Achara offered to stay with Kongpob at Arthit's dorm till the latter comes back. But Arthit refused, reasoning it would get pretty late by then so Rin and Achara should leave Kongpob with him and go back home. He assured them that he will make Kongpob rest at the nurse's office, where some of the seniors would be there, whom Kongpob is familiar with. He assured the elders that the younger male would be safe there.
Arthit's concentration hadn't been in one place since he had dropped Kongpob at the nurse's office, after buying him something to eat along with the mango juice Tootah had bought for him. The rest of the evening felt like years for Arthit, he was somehow able to end the hazing meeting. Scaring the freshmen off with his glares and cold shouts, his anger a step higher that day and no one has to know what's the reason behind it. Even though his set of friends already knows what's happening to their friend.
When Arthit was finally able to rush to the nurse's office, his friends teased him from behind before they left for their dorms, not wanting to be between their friend and the younger one. They know Arthit won't have any eyes on them at Kongpob's presence.
Arthit was met with a sleepy Kongpob, leaning on the chair.
"He was trying to stay awake until you came back." The third-year student who was in charge of the duties that day smiled knowingly at Arthit who chuckled and nodded his head.
"Thank you for looking after him, Fang."
Fan chuckled, "I won't take another chance. I know I would get my head cut off if I don't look after your precious."
Arthit laughed, shaking his head he walked towards the younger male. Smiling softly as he sat beside him, his eyes tracing the soft features of the other. A sigh left his lips as he checked the younger's temperature. He should wet a washcloth and place it on his forehead when they return to his dorm.
"Kong, hey, wake up." Arthit softly nudged the younger boy. Chuckling when Kongpob pouted in his sleep.
Arthit pulled the younger up, resting his back on his chest, "Minou, wake up baby."
Kongpob yawned, blinking his eyes open. He stretched his back, lensing comfortable on the firm chest. A smile bloomed on his face when he realised Arthit was beside him.
"P'Oon!" Kongpob turned around, excitedly hugging the elder.
Arthit couldn't help but smile wide at the younger boy's action. It always made tremours run down under his skin, feeling a special wave of electricity pass through him every time Kongpob would hug him, or even just call his name.
"Ready to go back?" Arthit caressed the other's hair, moving away the younger's bangs from falling on his face.
"Yeah! I waited for you but fell asleep."
"I know my Minou." Arthit touched the tip of Kongpob's nose with his finger, making the younger giggle.
"Come let us go, you might be hungry." Arthit released the younger from his hold. Both standing up. The younger's hand immediately intertwined with his. Arthit watched as Kongpob waved goodbye to Fang before they walked away.
Fang couldn't help but smile seeing the two. Watching their hot-headed head hazer, the dark aura that he always carried around, crumble down, his hard glazes softening to tender hazel orbs in the younger boy's presence always surprised her. Surprised everyone who knew Arthit Rojnapath.
Everyone knew it wasn't something brotherly. Might have been in the start but they knew with each flicker of emotion Arthit gets in the presence of Kongpob, was much more than that. They could see it in the younger's eyes too. She could see how Kongpob adorned their head hazer. The blooming smile, dreamy eyes filled with such a powerful hold of love in those charcoal eyes gave it away each time.
Seeing Arthit Rojnapath, their ever soo stern and scary head hazer. The one who always held his head up high, from the start they had seen him, turn into a puppy, soft and submitting for the 13-year-old was a sight to be seen. And all of them enjoyed it each time Kongpob comes over.
Arthit chuckled as he watched Kongpob rush to the bed, flopping on top of it, laughing as he uttered how he had missed the place. The elder closed the door behind him, he placed their packed dinner on the small kitchen counter before walking towards the bed, crawling on top of the younger male before starting to tickle him.
Kongpob's laughter echoed the room, making Arthit smile wide. Finally being able to be himself, with his precious one beside him. Seeing Kongpob below him, trying to stop him from tickling him, tears of laughter escaping those closed eyes. Arthit felt home, after soo many days.
"P'Oon!" Kongpob laughed harder when Arthit buried his face in his tummy, tickling him. He was somehow able to push the elder's head away after trying for long.
He pushed Arthit on the bed before jumping on top of him, hugging him over his chest as he buried his face in the crook of the elder's neck.
"I missed you, Minou." Arthit wrapped his arms around Kongpob's shoulders. Feeling as if a calm gush of breeze had caressed his whole being with the younger's presence.
"I missed you too. Don't leave me alone P'Arthit Kharp. It's lonely without you."
Arthit gulped, feeling Kongpob tense in his arms. He caressed the younger's hair, placing soft kisses on the crown of his head.
"I know, my baby. I know. Bear with it, please. It's for a better future. Now, relax, I'm here with you." Arthit smiled when Kongpob looked up at him, nodding his head, flashing his tired toothy smile at him.
They talked and talked for the whole night, Kongpob whining about how lonely he felt without Arthit beside him. Even though it had been two years already since Arthit had to stay away from home for college it was still hard for Kongpob to get used to it.
Arthit coaxed the younger, and he knew Kongpob understood all of it. More than anyone could. But when he is in Arthit's presence Kongpob lets go of his mature side, being the little prince he is, being Arthit's little baby. And the elder always cherished that side of the younger. A side that was reserved for him.
Arthit smiled as he watched Kongpob sleep, lips softly parted, long lashes touching those honey cheeks. He placed a washcloth that he dipped in cold water on the younger's forehead, Kongpob was still burning from the fever. All the energy he had was spent as he was being his hyperactive self with Arthit, but the elder wouldn't have it any other way.
The elder male leaned in, placing a soft kiss on the younger's forehead and then the tip of his nose. Smiling tenderly when Kongpob turned towards him, snuggling close to his warmth.
"I love you, Kong. Get well soon, Minou."
Arthit knew very well what all those confusing feelings he had in him were after Kongpob entered his life. It was strange at first, he saw it as a brotherly instinct to protect the younger but as he grew up, he realised what the feeling was. It became a struggle to control himself after that.
There had been times when Kongpob would ask him what love was or what a lover meant, he had answered those questions too. But Kongpob's comebacks always made him turn to a puddle, those tender eyes staring back at him as if he was his world.
"So P'Arthit is my lover then!"
A 10-year old Kongpob had said back then. Smiling brightly at the elder. When Arthit asked why, the younger's reply shut him up, locking him firmly to the ground.
"Because you said lovers are more than best friends! They share everything and love eachother soo much. Stay by eachother for a whole life! Aren't you and me like that P'Arthit?"
The elder male didn't have a comeback at that time. What more could he say about love to a 10-year-old? And Kongpob always found a way to connect himself and Arthit into whatever the elder tried to speak of.
Arthit had waited for years to finally have a grip on the younger, mark him as his, being his alone. So when Kongpob had turned 18, before the younger started his college life Arthit proposed the younger. He wanted to claim his precious from all those eyes which were going to fall on him later on.
In the expanse of the garden in Kongpob's house, sitting on one of the benches, like how they would spend time talking back in the old days, Arthit finally knelt in front of him in the middle of the conversation they had and proposed him to be his boyfriend. Kongpob was a crying mess. Repeatedly mumbling yes as he hugged him back,
the younger had waited for this all these years. Trying to compose himself from the realisation he was trying to work out back then.
Their parents watched them, congratulated them. Feeling excited for them. Their set of parents already knew something like that would happen but as always they let fate play its game. They never came in between their children, letting them experience all the jitters and nervousness. They would have surely given a hand if their sons needed it, but they knew, Arthit and Kongpob would be just fine.
"Khun Arthit is here!"
Kongpob snapped his gaze around the campus cafeteria, hearing the squealing of the other students. He bit his lips when his gaze met with the elder's, who walked into the cafeteria.
Clad in a maroon suit, and a black shirt underneath. Hair slicked to the back, hazel eyes glowed as their eyes met. His strides confident, posture authoritative. He looked just like a model out of the magazine and Kongpob wouldn't lie that his heart didn't skip a few beats. Just like it always did in the elder's presence.
Kongpob puffed his cheek, turning away to focus on his plate of lunch. His friends eyed eachother.
"Trouble in paradise?" Aim leaned over from the other side of the bench, trying to get a peek of Kongpob's face.
"Shut up."
And they laughed. Giving their sly glances to the elder male who had walked up to them, standing behind their friend. Tew who sat beside Kongpob immediately moved to the opposite side, seating beside Wad. The three of them chuckled seeing the man, who was the acting CEO of RS Enterprise, give them helpless eyes.
"Kong."
The grip on the spoon in the younger's hand tightened. He could feel the presence of the elder. The musky cologne that he loved soo much on the other male. But he stayed put. He wasn't gonna give in.
"Baby? Please."
A warm hand was placed on his shoulder and Kongpob wiggled, pushing those hands away.
"Love, I'm sorry."
Kongpob pouted, his gaze strictly on his plate.
"Minou, P'Arthit is sorry."
The younger shuddered. The utensil in his hand slipped out. His breath hitched as strong arms wrapped over his shoulder. He could feel the warm breathing of the other beside his ear.
"My Minou, your P'Oon is soo sorry."
Kongpob closed his eyes, his lips parted as he tried to breathe. He could feel thousands of eyes on him, and he knew the elder's arrival was gonna stir another episode of squeals and praises of cute they both looked. It wasn't a hidden fact that they were dating. But Kongpob had an image to keep, he was a 4th year engineering student now, moreover the ex-head hazer. He can't just let himself go as per he wis-
"You're always my baby, P'Oon is sorry for hurting you, Minou."
All his senses were thrown out of his head at the husky whisper in his ears, he didn't have to look at the elder male to know that he was definitely pouting. Looking apologetic at him.
When Kongpob's face was cupped by those soft warm hands, the younger was turned to face a pair of hazel eyes. Soo close to his face that he could feel Arthit's breathing in his face. Looking sincere and honest at him.
"I'm sorry." Arthit dabbed the tear that rolled down the younger's eyes.
"I hate you," Kongpob grumbled. Puffing his cheeks. He pulled Arthit's hand, making him sit beside him. His action presented the opposite of what he had uttered.
"I know. And I'm sorry."
Kongpob snapped his gaze at the elder, "You know what?"
Arthit shrugged his shoulders, knowing very well what he was doing. "That you hate me."
"Don't you dare." The younger's glare fell on him and a dimpled smile bloomed on the elder's lips.
They stared at eachother, the sounds of squeals and camera shutters completely out of their ears. Eyes challenging eachother, trying to overpower the other. Arthit just leaned on the table, relaxed as he rested his head on his hand, elbow on the wooden surface. Smiling softly at the younger one who was trying to put up a strong facade.
In the end, Kongpob knew he lost it, he always did. It was hard to stare that those deep eyes, overflowing with love and desire. Warmth and passion. For him. Without breaking down his walls.
Kongpob gulped, biting his inner cheek as he turned to focus on his lunch.
"Did you eat?" The younger's whisper made Arthit chuckle.
"No."
"Why? P'Arthit." Kongpob narrowed his gaze at the elder. And the action reminded Arthit of the little boy he had seen growing up, who would pout and narrow his eyes if he doesn't get Arthit's attention.
"I couldn't eat knowing my Minou was angry at me."
Arthit smirked, watching Kongpob's cheeks flush red, the younger's eyes shyly looking around. Glaring at his friends who gave him teasing smiles.
Kongpob took a deep breath, took a spoon full of his food and turned towards Arthit. An angry pout evident on his face as he brought the spoon in front of the soft pair of lips.
"Eat."
The elder male obediently ate without a question.
"Good boy."
Arthit chuckled, shaking his head. Just like he told, Kongpob was still his baby. And always will be, no matter how old they are. Even when their hairs turn grey, fragile and weak. For Arthit, his first baby will be the man in front of him.
Kongpob gasped, feeling Arthit's hands slip around his waist. Pulling him towards him, making him sit on the elder's laps.
"P'Arthit," Kongpob gulped, trying to look around. Hearing the students shuffling and trying to muffle their talks. But his movements were stopped by the pair of hands that cupped his cheeks.
"I couldn't stay at the office knowing I pissed my baby off. So now, I want my baby's full attention so that I can worship you with everything and much more that I have in me."
Kongpob's lips trembled, his eyes burning with unshed tears. He looked away. Comfortably sitting on Arthit's lap. Letting his guard down. He melted like a puddle in the elder's arms, the warmth that he had missed soo much. The reason he was throwing a tantrum at his lover.
"E-Eat, you might be hungry." Kongpob stuffed Arthit's mouth with his food. Not letting the other speak further, if he would let so, he would break down. He doesn't want that.
Arthit smiled, watching Kongpob have his share of lunch after filling Arthit's mouth to the point he couldn't speak before chewing everything down.
A few seconds in Kongpob's friends stood up. Knowing that the couple needed time, they walked over, stepping like a shield over the two.
"Back to your works! The show is over nongs!" Wad's strong voice overpowered the murmuring. Everyone who had stepped closer to witness what was going on sprinted in different directions. The ex-hazers were scary if needed and they don't want to piss them off.
"First and second years! Isn't it time for your classes to begin? Move quick!"
Soon the cafeteria turned pin-drop silent as students rushed in the direction of their classes. Leaving some of the third and fourth-year students. The two batches had witnessed all of it so Arthit's arrival wasn't as surprising to them. They knew Kongpob, the polite, yet a stubborn young man. But in Arthit's presence, their ex-head hazer was a complete baby, being pampered by the handsome businessman.
Aim walked over to the table, chuckling seeing Kongpob's face resembling a boiled lobster.
"If you're planning to come to class, come over later. Or else we don't have any objection. See ya mate!" The three sprinted away, leaving the couple to deal with the rest. They don't want to be there and witness the overly cringey couple, especially since Kongpob is sulky at his lover.
Arthit let Kongpob feed him till the plate of lunch was empty. He made sure that the younger had enough meal too. Once they were done Arthit took his lover to the backside of the campus, around nine years back he had been there at this very same campus, he knew each and every corner of the place, even though changes had happened through the years. And he very well knew where they could have some privacy.
"Won't you smile at me, Minou?"
Kongpob shook his head, turning his face away from the elder male as his back touched the wall. The elder in front of him, caging him between the broad figure and the wall.
"I'm sorry, love. It's my fault. I'm sorry we didn't get much time to spend these days." Arthit reached over to caress Kongpob's face but the younger swat his hand away.
"You don't love me anymore! I'm not a kid now, so you are getting bored of me." Kongpob sniffled, letting his tears fall. He knows he doesn't make sense but he was just feeling soo lonely for the few months, rarely seeing Arthit around. The elder had been busy.
"You're still my baby. I love you more with each passing second. I love you, Kong." Arthit smiled softly, seeing Kongpob break down in front of him.
"You have been soo busy. Rarely got time for us! We planned to go on a date yesterday, P'Arthit! But you had to cancel it in the end!"
Kongpob rubbed away his tears angrily, frustrated that he was behaving like a kid but he couldn't help it. When he's with Arthit, he didn't care what he looked like.
Arthit reached out to hold Kongpob's flushed face in between his palms. Dabbing away the rolling tears. Leaning in to kiss the watery eyes, his nose, lips, on his forehead. All the while Kongpob sobbed in Arthit's arms.
"It's not you, Minou. I had to settle several things at work. Please don't think that I'll ever get tired of you, my baby. You're always my source of warmth, my energy to get up in the morning, go to work and finish things up as soon as I can do that I can return until your arms."
Kongpob sniffled, biting his lips, trying to cut down his cries.
"I'm sorry for what I had done Kong. I know you had been looking forward to it and none of my excuses is worth being given as a reason." Arthit's soft, tender words made Kongpob sob harder.
Arthit captured Kongpob's lips in his, into a delicate, assuring kiss. Slipping his hand into the dark, silky locks of the younger. Kongpob's hand reached over to hold Arthit's wrist. Sighing contently into the kiss. Eyes closed and trembling lips being kissed.
Arthit could understand how his lover might have felt. And he knows himself that he's getting too busy with works at the company. It's been more than a year since he was promoted to the position of the acting CEO of RS Enterprise. One of the leading companies in the country, their family business. Merged between the Suttilaks and the Rojnapaths.
Even though he had been praised for his works, given tokens for his efforts he still had a long way to go. For the past few weeks, he had a tight schedule, he wanted to prove to everyone that he was worthy enough to handle the company. That is after Kongpob joins in, together with him.
It would be just a matter of a few months before like lover graduates and by the time Kongpob steps into the business world, Arthit wants to be there for him. Guide him and stand by him when he needed. And for that, he had to work hard.
But in that time, to secure their future, to himself free when Kongpob steps in. He slagged off in listening to his lover. The need the younger had, the lack of explanations made his lover insecure. And yesterday Kongpob's restrains broke. He lashed out and Arthit didn't utter a word, letting the younger voice out all the pend up emotions.
And now, here he is. Putting all his work to an end as early as possible, not even minding to change his work attire as he stepped up to meet Kongpob, his baby, his precious gem. He knew that if he couldn't reach the younger as sooner as possible he would have to have another session of coaxing. Not that he minded though.
Pulling away from eachother Kongpob pooling charcoal eyes met the elder. Arthit pecked the younger's lips once again, removing the pout off his lips.
"I'm sorry, forgive this stupid P of yours."
Kongpob nodded his head, "Yeah, you're stupid." The younger slid his hand to Arthit's shirt, buttoning up two of them from the three unbuttoned ones. "And I love you."
Arthit smiled wide, his dimples in display. Making Kongpob giggle as he poked them.
"My naughty Minou." Arthit raised Kongpob from the floor, making the younger gasp but soon giggle as he wrapped his legs around the elder's waist.
"May I have the pleasure to have this handsome baby of mine, to myself. From this very moment?" Arthit nudged their noses together. His arms secured around the younger. A mischievous glint in the hazel orbs made Kongpob shiver, smiling shyly.
Laying under the covers of the bed, in the dimly lit room. Two naked bodies, warm under the cosy blankets. Legs entangled. Kongpob snuggled closer to the warmth, panting and breathing heavily.
The younger closed his eyes, enjoying the stealthy movements of the elder's warm hands. The way his back was warm and relaxed with the soothing movement, relaxing his muscles from the tingling pain that was still there. Arthit's hands graduate to squeezing the younger's bum, his palms move down to grab it, then gently caresses it as if to apologise for the pain that he had caused.
Kongpob smiled, resting his head on the Arthit's chest. Playing with each other's hands as their legs tingled beneath the sheets.
"I missed you," Kongpob mumbled, fingers tracing the elder's torso.
Arthit placed a kiss on the younger's sweaty hair. Cuddling his small body closer. "I missed you too, soo much. I'm sorry for not being there Minou."
"No," Kongpob shook his head."I'm sorry for being insensitive. I-I didn't think about how you felt. I'm sorry."
Arthit started to kiss the younger's shoulder when he heard the tint of disappointment in his voice. It made him smile as butterflies took over his stomach.
"No, I love seeing you being my little Minou. You have always been understanding ever since I started to work at the company. And I miss your little tantrums. I miss my little Kong."
Kongpob giggled, looking up to face Arthit. He placed a quick kiss on the other's jaw before snuggling into the crook of the elder's neck. Smiling. Just enjoying the presence of the warmth beside him. When he had hissed at the small movements he made, Arthit's hands caress his nacked back. Peppering kisses on his forehead and the side of his face. Arms wrapped securely around him.
Neither of them could get enough of this feeling. The matter being their only existence at the moment, all of their problems just drifted away. They were just in love, happy and content.
"P'Oon Kharp," Kongpob looked up with pouty lips, charcoal eyes innocently staring up at the hazel once. "Kong wants ice cream."
Arthit laughed, he pinched the adorable mochi cheeks of his lover. He pressed a tight kiss on Kongpob's lips making the younger giggle."Anything for you, Minou."
