Into The CEO's Heart-2 (END)
"Aw N'Arthit! You're finally here! Thank god!"
Arthit looked at the employees confused. Martha was practically having this huge relief washed over her face.
"What happened?" The younger raised an eyebrow.
"You have no idea how we survived these three days!" Cherry sniffled, fanning his face with his hands as he stopped himself from crying.
"The Ice Prince had come back! Ever since you left he had been on everyone's throat! He rejected almost 20 files we had sent him, pointing out measly mistakes and practically roaring at us for not doing our job right!" Cherry shook his head at the memory.
Arthit bit his inner cheek, stopping himself from laughing. Whatever it is, the people in front of him are his seniors, he shouldn't laugh at them.
"That bad?"
Martha nodded her head frantically, "We believe you now! Only you can tame the Ice Prince! Please go save us N'Arthit!"
Arthit couldn't hold it in anymore as he broke into a fit of laughter. Nodding his head at them who still looked concerned. Giving them the assurance that everything will be fine he made his way to the COO's cabin.
He stopped in front of the cabin, his hand on the doorknob. Should he knock? He usually doesn't do that to irritate the other male but if he does it now will it be weird? He knows the other is in a cranky mood now so he doesn't want to add oil into the fire.
Chuckling he knocked on the door a few times before getting in. A silly smile spread across his lips when he came in view with his tsundere boss who was staring right through him. Though feeling chills run down him with those dark orbs piercing through his soul he was feeling ecstatic with finally being able to be with the other's presence.
"From when did you start knocking on my door before getting in?" Kongpob crossed his arms against his chest, leaning on his chair.
His usual stoic facade on him while his heart was pounding against his chest. He never knew that he'll miss someone soo much. He won't voice it out but after getting Arthit as his secretary things have been easy for him at work.
Above that, he felt Arthit understood him well, despite the cold nature he carries on Arthit had seen through him. Unlike other secretaries he had. Even though he won't admit it to himself or anyone else, he knows he enjoys the teasing he receives from the other. It makes him feel alive.
"I heard from others that there is a fire-spitting lion inside here, so you know, I just wanted to be sure this lion doesn't get more pissed with this poor rabbit." Arthit gave a small pout, walking towards his table a few feet away from the COO's table. Setting his things over the desk.
"Rabbit my ass! You're no rabbit! You sly fox!" Kongpob grumbled, glaring at Arthit.
"You hurt my heart, Kong!" Arthit dramatically pressed his palm against his chest making the other roll his eyes.
"Stop it! Now start working, you have three days pend up work to do!" Kongpob scoffed, though he felt butterflies with how Arthit called him by his nickname.
"And by the way," Kongpob gulped, not daring to look up t Arthit.
"Don't knock next time." He doesn't know why the hell he said that but Kongpob is used with the way Arthit behaves that he didn't want it to be changed.
Arthit gasped but soon chuckled, shaking his head as he took his seat. Glancing at the COO who now started to avoid his gaze as he started going through god knows what on the laptop in front of him.
Arthit let out a loud sigh, faking a whine at the work he has to do.
And Arthit did catch the small smile that formed on Kongpob's lips at what he did. He clearly saw his boss biting his lips to stop the smile from getting any wider.
Lose it up already dear boss!
"Khun Kongpob?" Arthit called out, soo soft as if he would have hurt the other person if he had raised his voice.
"What do you want?" The harsh reply from the COO only made Arthit sigh.
He turned around to close the door to the cabin room. Locking it. He doesn't want anyone to interrupt them now.
"Are you ok?" Arthit cursed himself for asking that. He might be a person who speaks a lot and have a social life but when such a situation comes, he's a little poor at consoling people. But he had done it countless times for his friends.
But standing here with Kongpob, he feels different. He doesn't know the right words to be spoken to the latter.
"Who told you that I-I'm not fine?! Get o-out!"
Arthit closed his eyes, the other was clearly in distress. What happened a few minutes ago wasn't taken lightly by the other male and Arthit knows it. The breaking of Kongpob's voice was evidence of how much stressed the latter was.
He walked towards the COO who stood facing the large glass window. Hands in his pocket. Even though the latter looked extremely fine with his back facing him, Arthit could see the stiffness of the shoulders and the slight trembling of the male. Kongpob was trying soo hard to control himself. Arthit could see it.
"You know, it's good to let down your guard sometimes. It won't make you look weak, Kong." Arthit placed a hand on the other's shoulder, giving it a soft press.
He could feel Kongpob tensing up. His breathing getting heavier. There was a pregnant silence before Kongpob turned absurdly, glaring at him. Eyes red with controlled emotions.
"I don't need your advice! Get out and leave me al-"
Kongpob stumbled a step back as warm hands wrapped around him, pulling him closer. His chest rose and fell heavily as he tried to control his laboured breathing. He bit his lips, soo hard that he could feel the pain.
"It's okay, no one is here. Just me and you. It's just us, Kong." The soothing voice whispered against his ear.
Kongpob could feel the walls he had built around himself break, he finally broke down when a soft kiss was placed on the base of his neck.
He wrapped his arms around his secretary's waist, clutching onto the shirt in a tight grip as he sobbed into the other's chest. Burying his face into the warmth, he could smell the other's cologne, the familiar mint scent made him feel calm. He had imagined a lot of times of being in these arms, to smell the latter's scent that he only used to get a sniff of when they were in close proximity.
"It's okay, I'm here-I'm here." Arthit caressed the other's hair, placing a soft kiss over it. He didn't think further about his actions, he doesn't want to. It was just them at the moment.
Sniffles and sobs were the only sound that echoed the room for the next few minutes, soft cries of the COO were muffled against Arthit's chest.
The secretary could only smile as Kongpob's arms tightened around him when he made a move to see the latter's face. Arthit let Kongpob be for the time, he just stood there, letting the other push out all the pent up emotions as he softly caressed the other's hair.
Arthit could feel the other shaking in his arms, leaning all towards him. He could feel the other practically go limp over him and he knew Kongpob had to sit now, the latter's legs were trembling. He didn't want the other to lose balance.
He know Kongpob won't let go of the hug so he did what was the only possible option next. He took a few steps backwards, towards the sofa that lay at the side.
Arthit slowly sat on in, pulling Kongpob along with him. Making the other settle over his lap sideways. Kongpob didn't protest, he just clung onto the other's shirt, sniffling as a soft sigh escaped his lips at the feeling of his trembling legs finally able to relax.
The COO seemed soo fragile at the moment that Arthit wanted to protect him at all cost, drag him away from the cruciating eyes. He cursed all the people who judged this man, they don't even know how much Kongpob had worked hard, to only get judged in the end.
But this was life. He knew it. There's no escape from all the criticisms in life.
Arthit gave a small smile as Kongpob pulled away, wiping his teary cheeks as he gazed at him from over his lashes.
"I-I'm sorry," Kongpob's voice had turned hoarse with all the crying he did.
"Hey...why are you sorry?" Arthit raised his eyebrows, his arms now wrapped around the other's waist, unconsciously pulling him closer.
Kongpob gulped, biting his lip he pointed at Arthit's shirt, patches of his tears over it. A deep blush formed on his face as he registered where he was seated. He immediately scurried away from the other's lap.
Arthit chuckled, letting the other have his way. "Out of all the things, you're sorry for my shirt getting wet? Really Kong?"
Kongpob pouted, his cheeks rosy with embarrassment. Hugging his blazer tighter around him he sniffled. His breathing finally moved to a rhythmic pace. He sat close to Arthit, leaving no space between them.
"Sorry that you had to see that." Kongpob stared down at his lap, biting his inner cheek.
The fact that Arthit was cradling him all the while he cried like a baby was making him feel embarrassed, he was the boss for god's grace and here his secretary is soothing him like a baby.
"You don't have to be sorry Kong. We're all humans, we have emotions and feelings. It's better to let it out than compressing it all within yourself, so you can prevent it from bursting out in flames in the future."
Arthit raised his hand, hesitant for a second before he reached out behind Kongpob's head, caressing the other's hair.
"You can let it out to me, Kong. You're not alone, there are a lot of people who care about you. Don't think you're alone, please. Sharing your feelings doesn't make you weak, it doesn't make you oversensitive. Instead, it shows you how strong you're, Kong. To hold up all those emotions require strength."
Kongpob gazed up at the other male. Arthit's soft, dimpled smile made him feel calm. A soothing touch over him. The other's presence was always like that. Made him feel safe and secure. His lips trembled at the softness of the other's gaze, soo many emotions going through him.
"I-I feel soo worthless sometimes. I did soo much, worked hard to reach here. Tried proving everything I could so they won't judge. But in the end, it's such a waste. Each time they try to point something that makes me worthless for this. Why? Just why? Isn't all this enough? Didn't I do my best?" Kongpob sniffled, he cursed his sensitiveness at this point. He just finished crying a few minutes ago and here he is, ready to have another episode of tears and sobs.
"All of these makes me feel that what I'm doing is wrong. Each step I take now, I overanalyze it. Scared to make a mistake, scared whether it isn't perfect." He bit his lips when warm hands pulled him into an embrace. He leaned on the warm chest, closing his eyes as he listened to the rhythmic heartbeat of the other male.
"Let me ask you something, Kong..." Arthit caressed the other's hair.
"Are you sure that you're giving your all for earning this position?"
Kongpob nodded his head, "I-I do. I just want them to recognise my hard work. Just wanting to be accepted by them. I don't want to be judged just because I'm young."
"You know that you're giving your best, Kong. That's all that matters. The board members can clearly see your hard work and the success you have bought to the company. They don't want to accept the fact that a young man like you was able to achieve all these but they couldn't, even after working for all these years."
Kongpob parted away, staring at Arthit who smiled softly at him. Those dark hazel eyes stared at him in tenderness.
"Khun Kerkkrai knows that. And you're going to be announced as the new CEO in two weeks. You've earned this, Kong. There are thousands of people who will judge you on your journey, but in the end, it's them who's going to change their words. Because..."
Kongpob leaned into the touch as Arthit caressed his cheek. Placing a soft kiss on his forehead.
"Because you trust yourself. Your determination is unfazed. And you have people who trust you on this. That is all that matters."
Arthit wiped the tears that slide down the other's cheek. It hurt him seeing the latter cry. He had always seen a Kongpob who was headstrong, even with that tsundere nature of him, Kongpob was lively, interesting. But seeing him control soo many emotions and trying to not break down was something new to him.
Kongpob will be promoted as the new CEO in two weeks, the latter had been preparing for it all these years. Arthit was impressed with the way Kongpob has put forward his work ethic, the number of achievements he has earned for the company.
But despite all these, there are people among the board members of the company that wanted to degrade Kongpob. Despite being the son of their current CEO it isn't easy for Kongpob to earn this position. Arthit was getting his emotions on the bridge when he attended today's board meeting with Kongpob.
The way some of the old men and women among the board members criticised Kongpob wasn't sitting well with him at all. He had lost respect for those senior people. Just because Kongpob was young doesn't mean he isn't capable of handling the company.
And Kongpob had proved several times that he was mature than many of the board members who were seated in that room. Their ego working out at the point. It wasn't very pleasing and Arthit could see how Kongpob was silent all the way, just listening to everything. He could see how the latter's palms turned into a fist under the desk and how his jaw was clenched.
But Kongpob did answer the board members' questions. Brave and confidently. His voice unwavering. He was on point with his words shutting everyone in the room.
Kerkkrai had then interfered. Announcing about giving the CEO position to his son once again. Pointing out the dark thoughts in others' minds. Expressing how bad he felt hearing all the irrational criticism faced towards his son.
In the end, more than 50% of the board members reluctantly or willingly voted for Kongpob to become the CEO. Despite some of their ego working out in their heads.
Kongpob's achievements were the ultimate proof. One couldn't change it. They knew deep inside this was the right choice.
"You're a very brave man, Kong. I'm proud of you."
Kongpob looked up through his tear-stained lashes. Those warm dark hazel eyes staring back at him, rosy lips stretched into a soft smile. Kongpob smiled back through his tears, his whole being getting into a puddle with the way his secretary was handling him.
"Thank you, Arthit. Thank you soo much." Kongpob whispered back, his voice slightly hoarse.
Arthit smiled wider, shaking his head. The latter cupped both of Kongpob's cheeks, his eyes gazing back and forth between those luscious lips and dark eyes.
Kongpob felt a shudder run down his spine. His heart started to thump erratically against his chest. Something in his head screaming for him to move a little closer.
And that's what he did. He felt his body move on his own, but before he could lean in further to capture those parted lips Arthit beat him to it.
The latter had slid his one hand behind his head and suddenly smashed their lips together.
Kongpob closed his eyes involuntarily, sighing into the kiss. Slowly parting his lips to nibble onto the other's lips. His hands moved to the other's chest, gripping onto the shirt.
Arthit slide his fingers into the latter's silky hair, pulling him closer as he tilted his head. Sliding his tongue when the other let him to. He tasted each crook and corner of the warmth that enchanted him with the blossoming feeling. He had waited for this for soo long, to feel Kongpob like this.
Kongpob melted into the kiss, giving in with the same amount of vigour. Sucking and glided his tongue over the soft pair of lips that nibbled onto his own.
Angling their heads to the sides for better access, their kiss was slow and passionate. The build-up emotions finally let loose. Hands on eachother, clutching tighter with the feeling of butterflies swarming in their stomach.
It felt like an eternity before they parted away, at the same time as soon as they lost the taste of eachother, the contact of their lips, it felt too sudden. It felt too sudden to part away.
Eyes fluttered open as they stared at eachother. Lips slightly swollen and parted as they took in small gasps of air.
Arthit's mind dawned on what had just happened. The weight of the moment suddenly fell on him, a sudden emotion passed through his eyes before he panicked.
"I'm sorr-"
Kongpob covered his mouth with his palm. Cheeks flushed, blushing mauve as he stared at Arthit. He shook his head.
"No, don't." A whisper escaped his lips. His palms slide down the other's mouth, replacing with a soft pair of lips as he pecked him.
"Don't say anything. Just-just be here."
Arthit closed his eyes, pulling Kongpob into his arms as he tightened his hold around him. Taking in deep breaths to calm his breathing.
****
Kongpob plays with the wine glass absentmindedly. How much ever he tries to push his thoughts away from that certain someone he just couldn't. Even after almost a week of the said man's unannounced disappearance on him, Kongpob couldn't wrap his mind around his thoughts.
"Kong, son, you okay?" Kerkkrai placed his hand on his son's shoulder. His eyebrows raised as he observed the younger.
"Y-Yeah, I'm." Kongpob gave a soft smile, taking a sip from his wine glass.
"You don't seem happy, son. You're going to be announced as the CEO in a few minutes but you don't seem happy for that," Rin leaned over the table.
"It's nothing, Mae. I'm happy, I truly am. Don't worry, I'm just tired." Kongpob gave the best smile he could muster up.
Kerkkrai and Rin shared a glance, they very well knew what was going on with their son. But they didn't want to voice it out, after all, they were here today not only for announcing their new CEO but also to announce another big news for their company.
Kongpob sighed, staring at his phone. The number of unread messages from him is visible on the screen. Why wasn't Arthit replying to his messages?
He had soo many questions piling up in his mind. Everything was soo sudden. He was left on a hook without a proper answer.
This was the first time he had started to come around comfortable with his secretary. He was becoming happy, but it didn't last long. Arthit had to leave him like that. No words of proper explanation.
"A-Arthit, what is this?" Kongpob's eyes almost popped out of its socket as he re-read the content written on the sheet of paper in his hand.
"As you see Khun Kongpob, it's my resignation letter."
The COO's head snapped in his secretary's direction. Kongpob couldn't believe what he was hearing. This is the first time he was having such a feeling. Fear, insecurity, guilt, every emotion was swarming up in his head.
"B-But what happened? Did I do anything wrong? Arthit you could have told me if anything was wrong."
His demeanour had completely changed as he stood up from the chair. Walked over to Arthit. He hadn't felt soo desperate before. In the past, he had always felt relaxed when his secretaries used to put forward their resignation letters. But with Arthit doing the same it hurts him. He doesn't want Arthit to leave, not after what happened the previous day. After they have kissed.
Not after he had started to come in terms with his feelings.
"Khun Kongpob, there's nothing wrong, and you have done nothing that made me choose this decision," Arthit's dimpled smile greeted the other.
"I have to do this, Kong." Arthit's soft voice was like a wash of hot water bath after a tiring day for Kongpob. It has always been. But now, he wasn't feeling the same satisfaction.
"Why? Arthit, is it me? Is it because I keep pushing you? I'm sorry, I-Its just my reflex. I'll not push your limits, I won't behave like a jerk-"
Kongpob stared into the dark hazel eyes, confused as the other placed a finger on his lips. Stopping him from talking.
"I like you for who you're. This tsundere side of you is what makes you special," Arthit winked at him playfully but Kongpob wasn't in the state to play along with it. He knew Arthit was trying to cheer him up.
With a sigh, Arthit stepped back, apologetically staring at him. He gave a soft smile. Kongpob reached out to hold the latter's hand.
"I'm sorry, Kong. But I promise you, I'll come back to you. Soon."
"But why are you-"
"Do you trust me, Kong?"
Kongpob bit the inside of his cheek. Gulping the lump that formed in his throat. He nodded his head. Trying to give a smile but failing miserably.
"Then, trust us. I give you my word. I'll be back to you, my love." A smirk formed on the other's lips as he winked at him. Kongpob raised his hand to punch the other's shoulder like he used to do whenever the other calls him with the silly endearment.
Kongpob glared at him, "Shut up!"
They stared into each other's eyes for a good minute before Arthit broke their gaze. He pulled his hand away from Kongpob's hold.
"Can you listen to my wish, Kong?" Arthit asked cheekily.
Kongpob nodded his head, his face emotionless as he tried to control himself.
"Take Khun Aim as your secretary. After myself, I only trust him for you, Kong."
The latter didn't wait for a reply as he turned around. Walked out of Kongpob's cabin, the same way he had entered the cabin for the first time. Head held up high, confidence vibrating throughout him. That enchanting smile was still plastered on his lips.
Kongpob clenched his palms into a tight fist. Landing a punch on his desk when the latter dissappeared from his sight.
"When are the Rojnapaths going to arrive? It's almost time." Kongpob voiced out, looking at his watch. He just wanted to get done with the event and go back home.
"They are almost here. Aran had messaged me," Kerkkrai patted his son's shoulder, giving an encouraging smile.
Kongpob on the other side could only smile back so as to not make his parents worried.
The bustle of the large hotel hall overpowered their whispering talks. People from different business sectors were present there for the party arranged by Siam Polymer and Rojnapath Enterprise.
It seemed like both the companies had a piece of big news to announce. Kongpob only knew that it was about him being the CEO and their new project that's coming up. He also got to know that Rojnapath Enterprise's new CEO will be announced on the same day too.
Kerkkrai and Aran had been business partners for a long time. They got into a real good friendship too. Kongpob had met Mr and Mrs Rojnapath a lot of times, they had been really nice to him and had given him advice like his own parents.
But he didn't know much about the family aside from what the outside world knew. He didn't dwell on it either. Maybe his Pa and Mae know, but he didn't ask or ponder on it because he knows it's not his business to look into. The only thing he knows is that the Rojnapaths had two children, a daughter and a son.
He doesn't know much about their son. The only fact he knows is that the latter had been studying abroad for a long time and only visited Thailand on vacations.
But he had met Anya, the Rojnapath's eldest child, on different occasions, she was three years older than him. For an only child like Kongpob, Anya was like a wonderful sister. She was caring and loving, with such a vibrant and positive vibe around her. And the fact that she was engaged to his cousin was another aspect that bonded the Rojnapaths and Suttilaks.
Kongpob was startled when gasps and murmurings started to take place around the large hall. He roamed his eyes over their guests, his own curiosity reaching up at what they were soo amazed about.
"Oh, they're here!" Kerkkrai stood up along with Rin. Kongpob followed their suit, turning his body to face the direction his father was walking to.
The every next second his whole body turned ice cold. His eyes widened as he stared at the three people that walked into the room. His breath caught on his throat.
He heard gasps around him, after all, he wasn't the only one who recognised the man.
"A-Arthit?" A whisper left his lips.
He watched his father walk up to the three, hug Aran Rojnapath, sharing pleasantries. His heart started to beat fast as he saw Kerkkrai step towards Arthit who had a small smile on his lips, the younger male was soon engulfed in a tight hug by his father.
Arthit was clad in a navy blue suit, with a white shirt and blue tie. Hair jelled backwards, a few strands of his hair falling on the side of his forehead. He looked crisp and invigorating.
Rin glanced at her son, concerned. She placed her hand on his shoulder, startling Kongpob from his thoughts. The younger turned to face his Mae, questions clouding his eyes.
"We'll talk about this later, okay?"
And Kongpob knew his parents has something to do with all these. He turned his attention to the Rojnapath family. Arthit had not once turned to look for him, not a single glance or stare. Not that he found. Kongpob just watched the three walk towards their assigned table. Being served wines by the waiter. He gulped when Aran glanced at his direction, a smile that meant more than what he could point out playing on the elder man's lips. He could only smile and nod back in recognition to the other.
If it was any other situation he would have joined his father, talk with Aran and Achara Rojnapath. But today he just couldn't do that.
Before he could lose himself in the battle of emotions he turned away, taking his seat. His eyes were strictly on his glass of wine as he sipped it. A few minutes later his father came to sit beside him.
"Kong," Kerkkrai called out, sharing a glance with his wife.
"I warned you Kerkkrai," Rin mouthed. Glaring at her husband.
The older man could only shrug his shoulder.
"That's Arthit, if I'm not mistaken. Right, Pa?" Kongpob looked up. Eyes pleading.
Kerkkrai nodded his head, "That's Arthit. Their son."
Kongpob closed his eyes, a sigh escaping his lips. Now all of it made sense. Arthit's motive to come back from abroad, him resigning from the position of his secretary out of the blue, everything made sense now.
Before Kongpob could speak further the MC of the event started to speak. Kerkkrai promised his son that they'll talk about it after the event gets done. Soon all of their attention turned to the stage.
Excluding the fact that the Suttilaks and Rojnapaths had announcements to make, it was also an event to review the year's achievements to the board members.
Kerkkrai and Aran were on the stage soon, as the most successful businessmen in the industry they were having a short speech being done on the stage.
All the while Kongpob could feel eyes on him. He constantly gulped, resisting the urge to turn around and catch a glimpse of the man who never failed to raise his heartbeat and make butterflies flutter inside him.
He knew Arthit was staring at him, he can sense it from the way he felt a burning at the back of his head. And the way his mother was glancing between him and Arthit's table.
It felt like an eternity before Kongpob and Arthit was called upon the stage by their fathers. Kongpob didn't dare to even glance at the other male. He clutched tight onto the front of his suit as he climbed up the stage. Giving a polite wai to the guests as he stood beside his father.
Involuntarily his eyes tried to meet Arthit, and his breath hitched for a second as those dark hazel eyes stared back at him. A fond smile on those lips. He quickly broke their gaze.
Arthit sighed, standing closer to his father he decided to focus on the event.
From the moment he had entered the room he tried his best to not show how bothered he was with Kongpob's presence. The fact of him hiding things was finally open to Kongpob. Despite all these he couldn't take his eyes off the charming man. He tried to control but Kongpob's presence itself pressed a button in him that he was afraid to touch.
Kongpob looked soo handsome in his burgundy suit, the white shirt contrasting to his dark suit. Hair parted to the side, his usual stoic nature evident in his posture. He had missed the man soo damn much.
"Here we're announcing to you the next CEOs of our companies." Aran gave a blinding smile to the audience, making eye contact with the MC, asking the man to continue from his lead.
"Let me introduce to you, the next CEO of Rojnapath Enterprise! Arthit Rojnapath, youngest of the Rojnapath couple."
"And Kongpob Suttilak, only son of the Suttilaks, promoted as the next CEO of Siam Polymer!"
"Let's give a round of applause to the new leaders of the two prestigious business enterprises!"
Kongpob and Arthit waied in respect as guests present started to applaud for them. Big smiles were plastered on their faces. They gave a small talk of gratitude towards everyone for trusting them to take over the position they have earned. The new CEOs both wanting to end the event as soon as possible.
"This isn't all that we wanted to reveal today," Kerkkrai took over, proud smile unflattering from his lips. He glanced at Aran, his dearest friend, sharing their smile as they nodded their heads.
"We would like to announce that Rojnapath Enterprise and Siam Polymer are going to join hands together for a mega project soon!"
All the members present their gasped in surprise. Claps and encouraging wishes spread around the large hall. Rojnapath Enterprise and Siam Polymer are one of the most influential business companies throughout the country. And then joining hands for a project was something to be looked up to. It was a piece of big news that would soon spread out like a wildfire.
And it also meant Arthit and Kongpob had to work together for this, as the new CEOs.
Kongpob had walked down the stairs soon, not before he had excused himself from the stage. He just couldn't go on with this, he felt a huge weight laying on his chest. He felt guilty that he couldn't enjoy such a wonderful day due to his emotional mindset.
He had to return home as soon as possible. And no one cared anymore. People were busy gossiping about the Rojnapath son, the youngest child of the Rojnapaths who has now stepped into the lights.
"Kongpob!"
He halted on his steps, having missed hearing that voice call out his name Kongpob bit his lips. His palms clutched into a fist on either side.
"Kong," the voice was near this time. The bustle of the room was rising as minutes passed. Everyone is busy making their own conclusions and statements. Judging and criticising going on in one end.
"Kong, I-I'm sorry." Arthit reached out to hold the other's hand.
Kongpob absurdly pushed his hand away, turning around to glare at the male. It was like a reflex to him, his anger that he had used to cover up his emotions. And Arthit knew about it very well.
They stared at eachother for a good minute. Kongpob didn't back out from glaring yet his whole being was trembling, the need to run into those arms, ask questions that were on the tip of his tongue was very high. But surprisingly he did the opposite.
"You could have told me."
That was all Kongpob could voice out. He didn't wait for anything more as he marched away, faking polite smiles at the people who he bumped in his way.
Arthit stood rooted in his spot. A deep sigh left his lips. His shoulders tensed, eyes following the male who stomped his way out of the hall.
"Arthit," Aran placed a hand over his son's shoulder.
"He'll come around, okay?" He caressed the other's back, giving an encouraging smile even though Arthit didn't turn to face him.
The younger male pocketed his hands, "I'll get him back."
"Be easy on him, son." Aran chuckled, bumping their shoulders. "Kong is precious to me too."
"Don't worry, Por. I'll treat him like a king." Arthit smirked, earning a childish punch on the shoulder by his father.
"Don't release it all on him on one go, Arthit."
Arthit chuckled. He's surely gonna get back what's reserved for him. Kongpob Suttilak could never forget him, he had made sure of it. He had imprinted on the male forever within the few months he had stayed close to the man.
His tsundere Kong is something that he adores.
"Aim, just leave those files on the table. I'll check those later. I already have many to look into."
Kongpob voiced out after he heard the door to his cabin getting opened. Tiredness laced in his voice.
Being a CEO wasn't soo easy, everything has to be monitored by him. Keeping track of the actives of the company. He's glad that he had trained himself for this before finally giving the chance to himself, with the assurance that he was ready for it.
And then there is another aspect that had surprised himself and the people around him within the next day of him being the CEO.
When Kerkkrai put forward the idea of assigning Aim, Kongpob's best friend, the duty of being his personal secretary since Kongpob is the CEO now, Kerkkrai was surprised when Kongpob agreed to it without a second thought.
His employees were beyond surprised too, knowing their boss was having a new secretary, that too without the Ice Prince making any riot about it.
Kongpob was shocked himself at how easily he gave into it. But thinking over it again he knew why he did that. He knew why he gave in soo easily to his father's all-time suggestion. Others didn't have to know why he did that, no they didn't.
Kongpob sighed, still focused on the file in his hand he saw a pair of hands placing the files on his table from his peripheral vision. But Kongpob suddenly went stiff when a familiar scent of cologne reached his nose. His eyes widened as he snapped his gaze to the man who stood in front of him.
"A-Arthit!" Kongpob could feel his whole system melt at the warm, dimpled smile that was directed towards him from the pale man in front of him.
Standing with his arms balanced on the table, clad in his maroon suit, hair gelled to the side.
"Hello there, my love." The cheeky smile that formed on Arthit's lips made Kongpob choke out a sob.
Standing up absurdly from his chair Kongpob dashed towards the other male. A small yelp escaped Arthit's lips as he caught Kongpob in his arms, getting crushed by him with his tight hug.
"There-there," Arthit kissed Kongpob's head, caressing his back as he hugged him, just as tightly as the other.
"You idiot! Bastard! Fool!" Kongpob called him all the names he could think of as he kept hitting Arthit's chest with his fist weakly. Not wanting to actually hurt the other.
"You scoundrel! You didn't even try to reach to me all these three days! I hate you! I hate you soo much!" Kongpob was a crying mess in the other's arms at the point.
Arthit just stood there, patting Kongpob back and placing soft kisses over the side of the man's face. A soft smile played on his lips.
"I hate you soo much Arthit Rojnapath!" Kongpob pulled away, wiping his tears roughly. His lips quivered as he glared at Arthit.
"Get out! I don't want to see you!" A sob escaped the CEO's lips, unconsciously sobbing as he refused to look at Arthit.
"Aw, you really want me to leave?" Arthit tilted his head, a pout forming on his lips. "I thought you missed me."
Kongpob took a deep breath, turning around, giving his back to the other male. He sniffled, wrapping his arms around his tummy.
Arthit faked a sigh, "Ok. If you want me to leave I will. I was just hoping to be in your arms, talk things out so we could compensate for the days we lost."
Kongpob stared down at his feet, his heart clenching feeling the despair in the other's voice.
His eyes turned wide when he heard Arthit's footsteps, he feared the other was really going to walk away so he spun around, grabbing Arthit's hand in reflex.
"Don't go!"
Kongpob's lips parted, eyeing the other male. The panic in his eyes soon replaced with a glare when he realised Arthit was just stomping his foot to make the noise. The smirk on Rojnapath Enterprise's CEO's lips gave it to him.
"I hate you Arthit!"
"Aw, you love me."
"No, I don't!"
"Yes you do," Arthit raised his eyebrows.
"No!"
"Yes!"
Kongpob stomped his feet, taking a step back as Arthit started to walk towards him, "No!"
"Yes!"
"No!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
Kongpob froze, gaping as he realised what he said. Arthit smirked wider, smiling like an idiot as he watched Kongpob blush in front of him.
Kongpob soon yelped when the back of his leg hit the sofa in the room. A hand soon wrapped around his waist, turning him around.
Both landed on the sofa with a small yelp. Kongpob found himself seated on the other CEO's lap. Catching their breath from the sudden fall Kongpob tried to wiggle out of the other's grip but Arthit had this wide smile plastered on his face as he wounded his arms tighter around him.
"Leave me you fool! Liar! Let me g-"
Kongpob closed his eyes in an instant as warm lips captured his trembling ones. A soft sigh escaped his lips at the feeling of the sensation he had been yearning for long. The struggle he had put on finally losing its battle.
Arthit smiled into the kiss, cupping Kongpob's cheek after he made sure the latter wouldn't jump off from him. Leaning his back against the sofa he pulled Kongpob towards him. He soon found the latter relaxing in his grip, kissing him back with the same vigour.
His fingers threaded into the perfectly set hair of the CEO. Soft sounds of their lips sucking onto eachother was the only source of noise in the large cabin room.
Eyes closed as lips moved in sync, both clutched onto eachother. Hands unconsciously caress around their backs and chest. Heads tilted for better access as very breaths escaped their lips as they moved for a better position before capturing each other's lips once again.
Arthit was feeling all the fireworks in his body. The goosebumps he was feeling with the caress of their lips, the butterflies in the pit of his stomach when Kongpob slipped his hands over his chest to clutch onto his shirt. He was enjoying every bit of this.
He never thought putting forward to help his father's friend's son would leave him to find love in the end.
When he came back from the States after his years of studies there he was excited to join with Aran and continue their business. He was happy to be back home to his family, seeing his parents and sister and knowing that he won't go back again was a relief to him.
Even though going abroad to study was his own decision as he didn't want the popularity of being the Rojnapath kid during that time, he still missed his family.
He knows about the Suttilaks. After all, Kerkkrai was a good friend of his father. His mother, Achara, loved the company of Rin too. And not to mention his elder sister, Anya, talking about the Suttilak's son once in a while. She kept saying she used to compensate for missing him by spending some time with Kongpob, even though it wasn't much.
After a week of his return from abroad he heard Kerkkrai and Aran talking about Kongpob over the tea they had when Kerkkrai came to visit the Aran. He overheard them, Kerkkrai's worries for his son and how the latter didn't want any help from others.
And somehow Arthit found himself volunteering to help them. Though in the beginning the two were confused Arthit just said that he wanted to help them out.
He put forward the idea of joining as Kongpob Suttilak's new secretary. He asked Kerkkrai to not reveal that he was 'the' Rojnapath's son. He didn't want that. He wanted Kongpob to be comfortable with him and bring his real feelings out in front of him.
So they planned it out in the end.
He was just intending to help Kongpob out. But the moment he met the man in person -he had seen many photos of him- something felt different. Something else added up with his primary intentions.
And slowly he started to find himself falling for the man.
He knows he should have told Kongpob the truth instead of disappearing in the end but well, his brain kind of messed up with his thinking and he coward out. Thus landing him in the very situation.
"A-Arthit," Kongpob gasped, resting their foreheads together. Eyes fluttered open as he stared into the flushed face of the other male. He knew his own face was burning red.
Their lips were swollen red and hair dishevelled. Their suit jacket almost slipped off their shoulders.
"Y-Yeah?" Arthit's husky voice sends shivers down the other male.
"Did you have to make me wait?"
"Uncle Kerkkrai advised me to give you some time. So I waited."
"Aw really!? When did Arthit Rojnapath started to listen to others' demad?"
"Well, since it's a matter about you, I don't wanna take a risk. I wanted you to be comfortable with the changes, get to reset your mind from me being your secretary to being someone else."
"You are a fool."
The next thing Arthit knew was that his lips were being devoured by another set of soft, pink lips.
Kongpob practically sucked the life out of Arthit within the few seconds of their second kiss of the day. Hungrily sucking on to each other's lips. Arthit didn't step back either. His hands roamed under Kongpob's suit jacket. He soo wanted to rip it off, feeling the trembling skin under his arms.
Parting away to breathe, a small smile formed on each of their lips.
"And I love you," Kongpob whispered breathlessly.
Arthit's face bloomed like the sunflower in early Summer. Facing the sun in the brightest and beautiful form. "I love you too. Soo damn much!"
"So, boyfriends ?"
Arthit chuckled, staring at his pouting human being. He bumped their noses together, "Boyfriends."
He pecked Kongpob's lips. They shared a giggle. Still, in each other's arms, they didn't make a move to separate, not just yet. Basked in eachother scent they pulled eachother closer. Kongpob legs resting on either side of his lover.
"Kong, I was thinking. This room is soundproof right?"
"Yeah, it is." Kongpob frowned at the sudden question, pulling away slightly to clearly see his lover's face.
"I had been imagining," Kongpob could see the gears working inside Arthit's head and the smirk on his lips was alarming to him too.
"Been worked for you here, I was thinking about taking you right here over the sofa. Your wonderful moaning with our office attire on. Wouldn't it be perfect for our first time?"
Kongpob choked on his breath. Eyes wide in embarrassment. His whole face was burning with the way Arthit is staring at him at the moment.
"What the hell Arthit!?"
"What? Good that I locked the door when I entered. Can't blame me, I missed you."
"Arthit Rojnapath!"
