Friends? - 3

"Arthit!'

Kongpob watched as Weir excitedly ran towards Arthit as they walked out of the security checking at the airport.

"This is for you." Arthit smiled as he handed a bouquet of roses to Weir who smiled brightly.

Taking the bouquet in his hands Weir hugged the other male, feeling warm by the gesture."Aw! I love you!"

Arthit chuckled, "And I have missed you so much."

Pulling away Weir clung onto the latter's arm."I'm soo happy to see you."

Arthit smiled, nodding his head. He turned towards Kongpob who was holding onto the luggage trolley. He gave a small smile when their eyes met.

"How are you, Kong?"

"I'm fine, and you?" Kongpob smiled but it soon faltered when Arthit turned his attention away from him, not even caring to answer him.

"Uncle!" Arthit joyfully reached out to Kerkkrai, hugging him. Though he had put a smile on his face and acted as if he didn't care for anything else, deep inside he was affected by everything.

He knows he ignored Kongpob. He feels bad but he cannot help him. Three months, it had been three months since he hadn't gotten a hold of Kongpob. After his and Weir's wedding was fixed, within a couple of months he had to return to London. David and Achara followed him this time.

He had been trying to get in touch with Kongpob in many ways, including emails and calls. Even asking Weir to connect him to Kongpob, in an attempt to get Kongpob to change his mind. But none of it happened. Kongpob was ignoring him, keeping away from him. He didn't even respond to his emails.

"How are you, Arthit?" Rin came forward as he hugged Arthit, caressing his face. Smiling wide at him.

Arthit glanced at Kongpob who hasn't taken his eyes off him, "I'm doing good, Aunty."

"Let's go now, Mom and Papa will be waiting impatiently for you."

Arthit helped Kerkkrai and Rin with their luggage while Kongpob and Weir walked together, following Arthit. On their way to Arthit's house Weir, Kerkkrai and Rin kept talking about how beautiful the country looked, being excited about seeing the place through the window. Arthit only answered the excited questions or remarks they said while Kongpob just observed them silently from his seat backside.

Kongpob looked out of the window. Feeling a pang in his chest. The familiar roads and the familiar place brought a lot of good memories he shared with Arthit. Moments that were much more than mere memories to his heart. He will hold onto that, those moments, those smiles, touches and kisses. He'll hold onto that to survive. He can only whisper to himself, it's ok.

"Welcome to our humble home!" Achara welcomed the four guests with wide smiles, hugging everyone as David approached from the living room.

The house bustled with talks filled with excitement. Smiles and laughter resonated in the place, bringing familiarity to the family.

"This place looks like a mansion," Kerkkrai looked around as he walked into the house.

"See? That's why I have been calling you to come and stay with us." David wrapped his arm around his friend's shoulder.

"You guys take a seat."

Rin shook her head tiredly, "No thanks. I'm jet lagged and tired. I want to sleep."

"Come with me, I'll show you your room, Aunty." Arthit approached them after directing the workers in the house to set the luggage in their respective rooms.

"This is the first time you're coming here right? So I have arranged our special honeymoon suite for you." He teased them making them roll their eyes at him.

"Arthit!"

"Don't give her false hopes, Arthit. She's old." Kerkkrai side-eyed his wife.

"You're calling me old?" Rin pointed at herself, scoffing. "You're the one who's old."

Arthit chuckled at their little bickering, he eyed Kongpob who was standing awkwardly between all the laughter and joy that was taking place around them. He could see how the latter was trying to force himself to adjust to everything. He decided to push away all those thoughts for the moment as he took Kerkkrai and Rin to their room, Weir and Kongpob following him as he directed them to join him too so that he could show them their rooms.

After making sure Kerkkrai and Rin were settled in their room Arthit instructed yeh workers to bring the couple refreshers so that they could drink them before taking rest.

"The room at the corner, that'll be your room, Kong." Arthit pointed towards the end of the hallway as they walked out of the elders' room.

Kongpob nodded his head, taking his suitcase with him, "Ok."

Arthit watched as the other walk away, feeling as if something was clenching inside him. The pain and suffocation were hurting but he knows he cannot show that.

"Hey, Mr America," Weir playfully rested his elbow on Arthit's shoulder, gaining the other's attention. "Where is our room?"

Arthit chuckled, pointing at the room in the middle of the hallway, "Your room is over there."

Weir rolled his eyes. "Come on, Mr stupid."

"I'm asking which one will be our room? After the wedding." Weir wiggled his eyebrows. Arthit awkwardly stands in front of his soon-to-be fiance, smiling nervously not knowing what to say.

"Weir, I-"

"Arthit!"

Arthit internally sighed when his father called for him, he smiled at Weir as he stepped away. "Papa is calling, I have to go. bye!"

Before Weir could even react Arthit was out of his sight, pouting he walked into the room Arthit showed him, deciding to unpack.

Kongpob on the other hand found himself sitting on the bed in the middle of the large room that Arthit indicated was his room. He stared blankly at the wall, not knowing how to feel, how to act.

He ignored Arthit for the past few months, thinking it'll help him get over him. That he would slowly forget the Arthit he was in love with. But nothing changed. The despair and yearning to have the male increased day by day. Bringing out another kind of love for him to experience. His whole body ached inside out each time he sees Weir and Arthit together, each time Weir says anything about Arthit.

He feels like a cheater, to both his best friend and the love of his life. But he had no choice. Even after all these days, he wasn't still able to teach himself that Arthit was no longer his.

Kongpob rubbed his face, sighing. Taking a deep breath he stood up. Deciding to unpack to distract his thoughts from a certain man.

Humming to a random tune that popped in his head he started to unpack his luggage, keeping his clothes in the cupboard. But the next second he turned towards when he heard his room's door open.

"Arthit?" Kongpob's eyes widened, " What are you doing?"

Arthit's stare was cold and it made a shiver ran down his spine. Kongpob could only gulp as he stood in the middle of the room, watching as the other locked the door before walking towards him.

"When are you getting married?" Arthit asked bluntly making Kongpob gasp.

"When are you getting married, Kongpob?"Arthit asked again, his voice a note down as he stood in front of the other.

Arthit scoffed, "It's been three months, you still haven't found someone?"

Kongpob looked away, he didn't dare to speak. So the best thing he could do was try to get away from the latter. But as soon as he initiated to walk away Arthit took hold of his hand, in a tight grip.

"We agreed we'd get married at the same time. We promised that for the sake of our love we'd marry other people." Arthit pulled Kongpob closer to him, their faces an inch apart.

"I've kept my promise," Arthit glared at him, lips trembling."It's your turn now."

Kongpob shook his head, eyes pleading as he tried to get away. "Please Arthit, no. I-"

"No!" Arthit almost shouted, making Kongpob take a step back but he was yanked towards the latter once again.

"Don't be fooled by seeing me laugh and joke around. It's all a mask. And you know me better than anyone else, Kongpob."

Kongpob looked away, feeling as if the words that came out of the other were choking him.

"Tomorrow is just my engagement, Kongpob." Arthit reached out his other hand to turn Kongpob to face him, he wanted to see all the emotions that the other was going through. He wanted to see it all. To feel that it was hurting the other as much as it was hurting him.

"A ring is not going to cut it. Don't test me, Kong," He warned. "I'll break this engagement and I'll break Weir's heart. I'll leave Weir standing at the altar and you'll be responsible."

Kongpob's eyes widened, staring at the other in utter shock.

"I took an oath, Kong. I will only get married on the day that you marry someone else. And that will never change."

Kongpob could only plead with his eyes, trying to get Arthit to understand. But before he could speak a knock was heard on the door making the two males turn their heads towards it.

"Kong? Are you in there?"

Kongpob panicked hearing his best friend's voice on the other side. He tried to take his hand away from Arthit's hold, trying to get away but the latter wasn't budging.

Arthit took both of Kongpob's hands in his, pulling him into him. Their bodies plastered together."Only 15 days until the wedding, Kong. Only 15 days. If you won't find someone till then you know what will happen, right?"

"Kong? Kong, are you there? Hello!"

Kongpob gulps as Arthit leaves his hand, without a second thought he rushes to the door. Opening it the next second to reveal Weir standing on the other side.

"Kong, I have been calling you- Arthit?" Weir blinked as he spotted Arthit inside Kongpob's room. It didn't bother him that his soon-to-be fiance was inside his best friend's room, what bothered him was the room being locked and Kongpob taking a long time to open the door.

"Arthit, w-what are you doing here?"

Arthit glanced at Kongpob who was fidgeting at his gaze."I guess we'll have to tell you now."

Kongpob's eyes widened as he stood behind Weir. He shook his head lightly at Arthit who was towards Weir.

"Tell what?" Weir confusingly stared at Arthit.

Arthit smiled wide, taking out a box from his pocket," Weir, this is for you!"

Weir gasped as he opened the box, seeing a beautiful watch inside. He smiled wide as he looked up at Arthit.

"I just had to show it to Kong first. He said you'd love it!" Arthit smiled softly, glancing at Kongpob who let out a sigh of relief.

Weir chuckled as he reached forward to hug the latter, "I love you, Arthit."

"I love you too" Arthit replies as he hugs the latter, looking straight into Kongpob's eyes.

If one thing that Kongpob had underestimated about himself is thinking he had the strength to watch Arthit being someone else's. That too being his best friend's fiance.

He thought he had the strength to see Arthit being someone else's, for a happy future. But he was completely wrong. He couldn't do that, no matter how he tried. The only thing that stopped him from ripping Arthit away from the said person was because it was Weir. He can't hurt Weir, the latter had gone through a lot and the only source of happiness he's going to get is from this wedding. Being with Arthit who Weir had fallen for.

And now, seeing Arthit and Weir up on the stage, at their engagement ceremony with their families around them, Kongpob couldn't help but feel a pang in his heart.

He tried to distract himself by talking to the guests and seeing that everyone was comfortable. The engagement ceremony was big. With different businessmen and friends and close family members.

"Sir?"

Kongpob blinked, taking his eyes off the stage he turned towards the waiter who called for him.

"Yes?"

"Sir, there's a note for you." The waiter handed a folded sheet of paper to a confused Kongpob.

"Oh ok, thanks."

Confused at who had given him the note Kongpob opened the folded paper. Reading the words written on the white sheet with furrowed eyebrows.

A dusky, beautiful boy. He's like the beat of my heart, he's-

Kongpob gulps as he stopped reading. There was only one face that came into his mind as to who might have written it to him. He looked up at Arthit, on the stage. Laughing and smiling with their families and Weir.

As if feeling Kongpob's stare on him Arthit turned his gaze. Meeting the other's eyes. He casually smiled at him making Kongpob gulp. They continued to hold their gaze, some unknown force stopping them from repelling. Soon Arthit's smile turned bitter as he bit his inner cheek, blankly staring at the man he loved.

"Where's the ring?! Bring it on!"

The excited voice of Kerkkrai echoed through the mic. Startling the two males who broke their gazes. For a moment they had completely forgotten about their surroundings, zoning out the voice around them.

"Kong, son! Come on!" Achara called for Kongpob to come up on the stage as David passed the rings to Arthit and Weir.

Nodding his head with a small smile Kongpob walked towards them, up on the stage. Standing near Weir.

The next few minutes went by in a flash for Kongpob, yet it controlled the way his heart was beating erratically. The way his eyes whelmed and the way he had to control it by biting his inner cheek. People who saw him might think he was getting just too much emotional seeing his best friend getting engaged. But only him, only he knew what was going on. And Arthit too.

After Arthit had slid the ring on Weir's finger, the latter looked up, past Weir's shoulder, at him. Within the simple gaze, Kongpob knew that Arthit caught him, caught him with the whirlpool of emotions that were swirling inside him.

And Kongpob could see a whole lot of what he was feeling in Arthit too. The smile on Arthit's face was soo fake. He knew it, he could see through him. He felt guilty but he knows that he cannot do anything now or later.

With rounds of applauses and congratulations being said from the guests after the rings were exchanged Kongpob stepped forward towards Weir, stretching his hand forward for congratulation.

"Congratulations, Weir."

Weir smiled wide, he looked at Kongpob's hand but instead of taking it, he pulled his best friend for a tight hug.

"Thank you, Kong," Weir murmured, his voice filled with emotions. Emotions of pure happiness. And Kongpob could only smile, hugging his best friend back, patting his shoulder.

Weir smiled, nodding his head as he pulled away. Kongpob chuckled, shaking his head seeing how speechless Weir was. He then turned towards Arthit, smiling softly at him he stretched his hands which Arthit took immediately.

"Congratulations, Arthit."

"Thanks, Kong." Arthit smiled back, his dimples in display. Kongpob could only bute down his urge to ask Arthit to not smile at him. That smile made his knees ho weak every single time and though he loved the feeling soo much he can't do it now.

As Kongpob tried to release his hand his eyebrows furrowed as he continued to stare at Arthit. Feeling Arthit's hold on him tighten. The latter wasn't letting go of his hand.

Arthit only smiles as he continued to stare at a frustrated Kongpob.

"Arthit, leave," Kongpob whispered, trying to glare at the latter. He sighs in frustration as Arthit continued to do what he was doing.

Putting a little pressure he pulled his hand away. When he looked up at the other he saw Arthit smirking at him, yet hurt filled his eyes.

A ragged breath left Kongpob's lips before he stepped down the stage. Telling his parents that he will be back soon.

Trying to find a place to hide he walked towards the corner of the large hall.
Hiding behind a pillar. He pressed his eyes shut, a quiet sob escaped his lips as tears slide down the corner of his eyes. He quickly wiped them away, afraid that someone might see him.

Kongpob blinked, wiping the trace of tears before he took a deep breath. He reminded himself once again why he was doing this. The image of Weir's smiling face was all that he needed. Weir was happy so he should be happy too. Shouldn't he?

"Sir," the waiter who had earlier approached Kongpob reached out to him once again. Startling the young man. The waiter stared at him apologetically before he passed a piece of paper to him."A note for you."

Kongpob took the paper with a sigh, thanking the waiter. Taking a deep breath he opened the folded paper.

I wonder who he thinks about, I keep hoping that it is me.

Kongpob closes his eyes. Controlling himself. If it was another way of Arthit trying to get to him then this wasn't helping his condition. He has to ask if it was Arthit. But as he turned around to approach the latter he saw that Arthit was busy.

Arthit and Weir were busy with all the guests who were coming up to congratulate and wish them. Kongpob could only sigh. He doesn't think in the middle of all the chaos of friends and relatives coming up to them Arthit had the time to write these silly notes to him.

Taking a deep breath and putting a smile on his face Kongpob walked up to their guests and families. Engaging in conversations to distract himself. And he believed he was doing pretty well.

Except for the fact that he kept checking up on Arthit and Weir who had now stepped out of the stage and was mingling with everyone present. The crushing pain in him was still there and Kongpob felt helpless not being able to do anything about it.

"Hi, Kongpob."

Kongpob blinked, hearing an unknown voice calling for him. He turned around, facing a guy who was smiling at him. The latter was of Arthit's height, maybe an inch shorter than him. With honey akin and black eyes.

"I hope you didn't mind my notes," the guy smiled sheepishly at Kongpob who finally understood where all those notes were from.

"Well, I-"

"Hey!"

Kongpob and the other guy turned their heads towards the source of the voice that interrupted them. Kongpob gulped as he watched Arthit walk towards them with a huge smile on his face.

"I can see that you guys have met." Arthit wiggled his eyebrows at the two making the other guy chuckle white Kongpob contained himself from saying something.

"Well, let me introduce you both to eachother," Arthit glanced at Kongpob who wasn't looking at him.

"Ed this is Kong, Kongpob, my... friend." Arthit watched how Kongpob stiffened a little. "And Kong this is Ed. He's a friend of mine I met here. He's working at our company."

"Well, I work less than I talk." Ed winked at Kongpob when the latter looked up at him.

"So, I have heard that you're going to study art in London," Ed asked as he continued to make conversations.

Arthit glanced at the two, chuckling.

"Careful, Kong. Ed is good at stealing hearts." Kongpob looked up at Arthit who had a teasing smile on his face.

"And Ed, you should watch out. Kong loves breaking hearts."

Kongpob's eyes widened, watching Arthit excuse himself after he said those words. He knows that there was no one other than him responsible for the way Arthit talked about him a moment ago.

"And maybe I'm looking for a heartbreak?" Ed tried to make the atmosphere light, seeing how nervous Kongpob was suddenly.

"Friends?" Ed stretched his hand forward, with a raised eyebrow and a small smile.

Kongpob looked down between the latter's hand and his face. He sighed.

"I don't make friends so fast," Kongpob gave a pressed smile. "Anyway, we'll meet again. Bye."

Ed chuckled, shrugging his shoulders as he watched Kongpob walk away.

"You're an interesting person," Ed murmured, the smile on his lips unflattering.

"We'll defiantly be friends, Kong. If not today then tomorrow."

****

One thing that Kongpob didn't expect was to see Ed when he came to have breakfast with their family on the patio.

He stared at his family members and sighed, they seemed to have got along with Ed's bubbling character. They were laughing at the jokes he was making, looking as if they knew him for soo long, well, not all but his father and mother do look so.

He got to know at his best friends' engagement, which was just a day ago, that Ed was the son of David's business partner. And David and Achara had known him for quite a long time. And thus Kerkkrai and Rin also started to warm up to Ed. But he didn't think it would be soo soon.

And well, he got to know later that the proposal that David had brought for him when they were back in Thailand was of Ed's. During the time when Arthit was back in London after their wedding was fixed, David brought a proposal to him too. Telling it would be great to have both of their weddings together. But Kongpob refused it even before anyone could speak out the details about the proposal.

"Good morning, Kong!"

Kongpob forced a small smile when Ed waved at him after the latter noticed him walking towards them. Everyone's attention was on him, wishing him good morning and he replied with a soft smile on his face. That's until his eyes met Arthit's who sat beside Ed in his office attire, his smile fell and sudden loneliness took over him.

Taking a deep breath Kongpob sat opposite to Weir, beside his father. Passing a soft smile to everyone.

"I'll take my leave now," Arthit announced as soon as Kongpob sat.

"All the best," Arthit mumbled to Ed, chuckling when the other gave him a sheepish smile.

Ed scratched the back of his neck as he whispered back, "I need it, winning a boy's heart like Kong's is very hard."

"Right, who would know that better than me?" Arthit's jaw clenched.

"What?"

"Nothing," Arthit stood up with a smile."I need to go. Bye, guys."

Everyone waved him goodbye, once Arthit was out of sight Weir turned towards Ed, a smirk on his lips as he gave him a knowing look.

"Tell me, Ed. Arthit is not here now, so the excuse of meeting your friend is over. What are you really here for?"

Ed gulped, smiling awkwardly as everyone's teasing gaze fell on him, "Well, I-I was just passing by so I wanted to say hi."

"Weir, stop," Kongpob glared at him."You're being too much. Don't mind him, Ed."

"I'll make you some tea," Kongpob proceeded to make the instant tea on the table while Weir was still making teasing noises. He didn't like it one bit but Weir wasn't getting the signal.

"Oh, honey, can you come with me? There's something that I want to tell you," Rin animatedly spoke, dragging her husband along with her as they stood up from the table and stepped towards the door, into the house.

Soon Achara got the clue as to why Rin did it so she forced David to come along with her too, Weir making up another excuse as he followed too. The little family hid themselves behind the door as they observed the two on the patio.

"Look, I know why you're here," Kongpob slid the cup of tea to the other, his face blank. He knows why his mother and aunt did it, he's no fool to see their intentions." But I'm sorry, I can't lead you on."

"You're a nice guy, Ed. And I know you'll make any person happy," He looked down at his palms, taking a deep breath."But I'm not ready yet. I'm not ready for marriage or any other commitments, Ed."

"Well, who told you that I was ready for it?"

Kongpob looked up surprised at the latter. Ed only smiled back at him, calmly.

"What did you think, Kong? That I go around and chase every person that I have just met?"

"I'm not into arrange marriage. I just had a chance to see a photo of yours, I felt like I wanted to see this person but I got to know that you didn't want to meet me so I dropped it there," Ed chuckled at the memory. He was surprised when he got to know that Kongpob didn't even want to meet him but he can't force someone to do what they don't like.

"But then I saw you at the function and I felt like you needed a friend," Ed could somehow sense that something had been bothering Kongpob for a long time. He doesn't know what it is but it surely has affected Kongpob a lot.

"So here I'm, wanting to get to know you better. No promises, no strings, just friendship."

Kongpob stared back at the latter, puzzled. Not knowing what to do, what to believe. He didn't think Ed would be an open-minded person and somehow he thinks he can give this friendship a chance. Nothing more, nothing less.

"Friends?" Ed excited stretched his hand forward, wiggling his eyebrows playfully.

Kongpob smiled softly, giving his hand to the other.

Achara and Rin sighed in relief as they watched the two. Weir giggling behind them, he can't wait to tell Arthit about it.

"Arthit, what are you doing? Thinking about me?"

Arthit stopped himself from sighing as he heard Weir's voice from the other end of the call.

"What else do I do in the office?" Arthit tried to keep his playfulness.

"Your lies are better than the truth," Weir giggled at the other end.

"Ok, don't disturb me, let me work."

"Our wedding is in ten days and you're still working! Not fair!"

Arthit turned silent. His mind going to a certain someone with sun-kissed skin and charcoal orbs. Soft rosy lips and a bright smile that could light the entire world. His world.

"Take me out, Arthit. I'm bored sitting at home!" Weir whined, breaking Arthit's stupor.

"We'll go out this evening. Go shopping with Kong now."

"Kong's out. Why else would I call you?

"Gone out? Where?" Arthit asked confused, Kongpob usually doesn't go out alone, he would prefer to stay indoors than roam around the city alone.

"He went out with Ed."

"W-With Ed?" Arthit's face fell, he gulped.

"Yes, he's soo cool! I think they have something going on between them, wouldn't that be great!?"

"Yeah-Yeah," Arthit cleared his throat."Where'd they go?"

"How would I know that?" Weir's whiny voice was heard at the other end. " Mr America, tell me now, are you taking me out or not? "

Arthit took a deep breath, "I'll be there in 10 minutes, be ready."

"I love you, Arthit!"

"Bye, Weir."

Arthit rubbed his face with his hand after he hung up on the call. He wanted to scream at their fate. Why would this happen to them? When everything has settled down life had to bring them back to zero. This wasn't fair.

Even though he was the one who introduced Ed and Kongpob to eachother he didn't think they would be close in such a short time. He had been noticing that within the last few days Ed and Kongpob had been a little too close. He knows that there's nothing from Kongpob's side but he knows Ed, the latter like Kongpob. He knows that.

Arthit took a deep breath, gathering his broken self he stood up. Packing up his things to go home. He has to take Weir out before the latter would create havoc at home.

"The film starts in 3 minutes, I don't want to miss the beginning!" Weir whined as they waited for the one in their friend to finish taking their movie ticket.

There was a new horror movie at the theatre and Weir loves horror themes so he asked Arthit to take him to see it.

"We're next, you won't miss the beginning," Arthit replied chuckling.

"But the line for the popcorn is long!"

Arthit could only shake his head, chuckling as he took their tickets. Once they were out of the queue he looked at Weir who was pouting.

"It's up to you. The beginning of the movie or popcorn? Decide now."

"Arthit", Weir whined, squinting his eyes.

Arthit laughed, "Ok, go watch the movie. I'll bring the popcorn."

A bright smile decorated the other's face, "You're the best!"

Arthit sighed as he watched Weir jog towards the theatre room. Smiling tightly he walked towards the popcorn counter to buy their snacks. Thankfully the wait wasn't for long.

"Two popcorns please."

"Make it four!"

Arthit turned around, his eyes widened in surprise seeing Ed and Kongpob.

"Where were you guys?" Arthit asked, smiling at Ed who wrapped his arm around his shoulder.

"I initially planned to show London to Kong but he has seen everything already. So I figured we'd catch a movie. Maybe he hasn't seen it already." Ed jokingly commented making Arthit chuckle.

"Where's Weir?" Kongpob asked after being silent since their eyes met.

"Inside, he wanted to catch the beginning of the movie."

"The movie has started?" Ed asked surprised to which Arthit nodded.

"Then what are we doing here?! Come on, let's go."

After they got their snacks they rushed into the theatre room. Thankfully there were a lot of seats vacant, so they decided to take a seat together even though their seat numbers were different. Hence they made their way towards Weir who was staring at the movie screen with utmost interest.

"Hi!" Ed waved his hand in front of Weir before he took a seat.

Weir snapped his gaze at the two newcomers, "What are you doing here?"

"We're playing basketball," Ed replied nonchalantly making Weir roll his eyes.

"Anyways, never mind. The movie has started." Weir shrugged his shoulders.

The next second he checked Kongpob who passed a smile to him while Weir tried to stop himself from laughing. He was sitting beside Arthit, who was on his right. Kongpob to Arthit right and then Ed at the side.

"Be careful, Ed. It's a horror movie and Kong loves horror."

"Really?" Ed asked, taking in the information that Weir gave. But when Weir laughed seeing his response he was confused. He looked at Kongpob who was facepalming.

Once the movie was done Kongpob could feel the whole of his face flush red from embarrassment as Ed and Weir kept on teasing him.

"Oh look at my poor hand! It looks as if a cat has attacked me!" Ed bumped his shoulder to the other, teasingly showing his hand which had finger marks on them.

"I told you that he loves horror movies!" Weir continued to tease.

"Shut up you both!" Kongpob glared at them who instantly zipped their lips but failed to keep a straight face as they burst into laughter a second later.

Arthit watched the trio with a tight smile as he walked behind them. They were currently at the mall, deciding to take a stroll or shop a little since they had plenty of time left.

Arthit looked down at his arm, the full sleeve t-shirt hiding the mark over them. He caressed his fingers over it, the tight smile turning soft as he gazed at Kongpob who was pouting, trying to walk faster as Ed and Weir followed him to tease.

Kongpob gets easily scared watching horror movies and Arthit being seated near the latter, during the first few times before Kongpob realised what he was doing, he would cutch onto Arthit's arm, jumping when he got scared. Arthit didn't utter a single word, trying to get the best out of the natural movements Kongpob did.

But later on, when Kongpob realised he was gripping Arthit he instantly pulled away. Trying to get away from him. Later on, Arthit had to sit beside him as he watched Kongpob cling onto Ed's arm.

"Tell me, Arthit. What does Kong like?" Ed's voice interrupted Arthit.

Kongpob was dragged by Weir to help him with shopping so Arthit and Ed were left alone. And Ed wanted to use this time to get more information about Kongpob.

A tender smile formed on Arthit's lips, "He likes small things. Popcorns, books and charms. Something like that. He loves to look at the sky. He's not too much into expensive things, little things are what makes him happy."

"You know him well, I guess." Ed smiled at the other.

Arthit chuckled, "He's a different kind of person."

Ed stared at Arthit, feeling that something was off. He could see the spark in the latter's eyes drop after they talked.

Kongpob on the other hand was observing his best friend. Weir was unusually silent and that made him worried. If Weir was silent something was up with him.

"Penny for your thoughts." Kongpob wrapped his and around Weir's shoulder.

"Kong," Weir called out softly."I'm starting a new chapter of my life, but all of these are based on a lie."

Weir turns towards Kongpob, taking the latter's hand in his dor support. "Before I start this new life, I want to tell Arthit the truth. That I didn't write those letters."

Kongpob's eyes widened but he composed himself pretty fast. "Weir, forget about the past. The important thing is, you love Arthit and you're marrying him. Nothing else matters."

"But, Kong-"

"No buts. You're the one who says if you hang on to old memories, you won't create new ones. So, come on, forget the past."

Weir smiled wide, chuckling when Kongpob smiled at him. Wiping off the doubt in his mind for the time being he pulled Kongpob with him and the latter was finally pleased to have his over-energetic friend back.

"I wanna buy something for Arthit! Tell me more about what he likes, Kong. You used to talk about him all the time but not anymore."

Kongpob chuckled, a warm smile spread across his lips.

"Well, he loves the colour red. Loves old music and melodies. He likes reading books too, especially comics. He's a different kind of person."

"And you never fell in love with Arthit?" Weir's question made Kongpob halt in his tracks. He looked away from his best friend.

"I did, but you stole him from me."

Complete silence enveloped between the two friends as Weir gasped. His heart beat loud as he stared at Kongpob as if the other had two horns in his head.

The side of Kongpob's lips lifted, "Just joking."

Weir gasped in relief," Kong!"

"Ed, son, there are scratches on your arm? What happened?" Rin asked as she noticed Ed's arm.

"Aw, aunty! Look! Its fingernails scratch. Look what your son did to my poor arm!" Ed playfully whined, trying to stop himself from laughing when he caught Kongpob glaring at him.

"Oh my, Kong!" Rin snapped her gaze at her son who shrugged his shoulders.

"That's why I never sit next to Kong when I watch a horror movie. And you don't even want to know what he's like on an aeroplane!"

"Weir!" Kongpob glared at his best friend.

Arthit chuckled as he watched them. What Weir had said made him reminisce about the time he had spent with Kongpob. He had experienced it all. Going out with Kongpob, seeing him inside out, body and soul. Watching him clutching onto his arm when the flight takes off. He had seen it all.

It was already night by the time they reached home. Ed had also tagged along with them just to drop Kongpob. But the elders were outside doing barbeque on the lawn so they joined them. Rin had specially asked Ed to stay with them for a late dinner.

"Pa! They're making fun of me!" Kongpob rushed to Kerkkrai as the teasing got too much. Weir and Ed were having a blast teasing him.

"Look! He scratched me too!" Kerkkrai pulled his hand away, acting as if he was hurt. Just to trigger his son.

"Pa!"

Kongpob puffed his cheeks, seeing everyone laughing at his expense.

"Laugh it up! I hope you all are enjoying yourselves!"

Everyone laughed harder when Kongpob walked away, stomping into the house.

"He's angry," Rin worriedly glanced at the way her son had gone."Someone please go and pacify my son!"

"I'll do it, aunty." Arthit smiles as he stands up from where he was seated.

"Oh, darling! Only Arthit can pacify him." Rin smiled widely at the other.

Arthit starts to walk away but Ed stood up, stopping him with a small smile as he stands along with him. "Arthit, I'll do it."

Arthit bit the inside of his cheek, calming the ache he had felt.

"Yeah, sure."

He sat back as he watched Ed jog into the house. He clutched his palms into a tight fist, trying to get out the pain inside him in any form possible. He wanted to let it all out but he couldn't, he promised Kongpob. He can't do that. At least for now.

Arthit turned his face away from his family, trying to collect himself and that's when his eyes fell on a familiar jacket on the seat beside him. He reached out to take the piece of clothing in his hand, his lips trembled.

Ed took a deep breath as he stood in front of Kongpob's room. He softly knocked on the half-opened door before pushing it. A smile immediately formed on his lips when Kongpob's back greeted him, sitting on the bed.

"Somebody said that being friends means never having to say you're sorry. But still, I've come to apologise," Ed talks softly. Checking if Kongpob was mad at him or not.

"If you're friends you don't do something that you have to apologise for."

Ed nodded hearing the other's response. He could sense that the other was still pouting.

"You're right, but what can I do? If I'm in the mood for a joke, I sometimes cross the line. Did I cross the line this time too?"

The way Ed said those words made Kongpob smile.

"Seriously, Ed?" Kongpob chuckled as he stood up, facing the latter as he shook his head."Nobody can stay angry with you. "

"That's because I'm soo cute and adorable," Ed wiggled his eyebrows making the other laugh.

"Ok, Mr Cute and adorable," Kongpob wiggled back his eyebrows. "It's late so good night."

"Good night? That means get out, right?" Ed knowingly stared at the other who crossed his arms against his chest, watching him."Ok, I'm going. Bye."

"Bye," Kongpob chuckled as he watched the other walk away.

Just as he turned around, deciding to go back to his bed he heard the other's voice once again.

"You've calmed down, right?"

Ed's question made Kongpob laugh, he didn't turn around to face him as he answered."Yes, Ed."

"Just checking," Ed smiled sheepishly watching the other.

"So, we're still friends, right?"

"Yes," Kongpob chuckled.

"So, we'll see each other tomorrow, right?"

"Yes, Ed."

"Will you marry me?"

Kongpob turned around absurdly, staring at Ed with puzzled eyes, "What?"

Ed scratched the back of his head, a small smile on his lips. "You were saying yes to everything so I thought I'd give it a shot."

"Ed," Kongpob's gaze narrowed on the other.

Ed knocked on the door playfully as he rested his hands on it, "So, is that a yes or a no?"

Kongpob raised an eyebrow, a frown on his lips and Ed immediately got the signal. He doesn't want Kongpob to get mad at him.

"Ok, since that's a no, I'm going. Bye."

Kongpob giggled at the childish act of the other. Making sure Ed was gone he turned around, walking towards his bed.

He groaned the very next second when another knock was heard on his door. He turned around intending to scold the latter, "Ed-"

Kongpob's words got trapped in his throat when he saw the man standing at the door. He gulped, looking down at the pale hands he noticed his jacket in the other's hold.

"It's Arthit."

The latter's voice sends shivers down Kongpob. He held his breath when Arthit walked towards him, wrapping the jacket around his shoulder. Gripping his shoulders over the fabric he swallowed down a hiss at how strong the other's grip was.

Hazel orbs observed the man in front of him. Breathing in the same air that the other does, breathing in his essence, wanting to imprint it in his senses.

"It's Arthit, not Ed," Arthit repeated and Kongpob couldn't utter a word. He could see it, the despair and pure jealousy. He could see it in Arthit.

Before Kongpob knew Arthit had pulled away from him, walking out of his room. A lone tear escaped his eyes.

Arthit leaned on the wall after he shut the door close to Kongpob's room. Trying to calm his laboured breaths. Anger and frustration rose in him. Everything was too much. The emotions he was building inside himself were scary. He didn't want to burst them out. He never thought love could bring soo much pain but guess he was wrong. This wasn't the future he had pictured for himself and Kongpob during their last stay in London before everything changed.

Taking a deep breath he collected his broken emotions. Going back downstairs to where everyone was. He can't stay away for long, either Achara or Weir would come to find him and he doesn't want them to question he looked as if the whole world's burden was on his shoulders.

"Arthit, son."

As he was about to walk toward the patio Rin's voice halted his steps. He turned to face her who stood away from their family who was seated on the patio, laughing and sharing jokes. Surprisingly Weir was with her too, smiling wide at him from behind her.

"Why are you both here? Aren't you joining them?"

Rin smiled, shaking her head. "I wanted to ask a help from you, Arthit."

"What is it, Aunty?"

"You know about Kong and Ed, right?" Arthit's palms clenched at the mention of the names. "Arthit, Ed is the boy that would suit Kong. I think they're perfect together. And Ed goes well with our family, he has made a bond with all of us."

With a soft smile on her face, Rin placed a hand on the younger's shoulder, "You have to convince Kong, Arthit. Talk to him, he'll only listen to you."

Arthit didn't know what to say so he just nodded his head.

"I'll try, Aunty."

"That's all I want, Arthit," Rin smiled wide. "I'll go now."

Arthit watched as Rin walked away from him with a pleasant smile on her face. He could only sigh.

"Ed and Kong look good together, don't they?" Weir excitedly reached his side.

"I think Kong will agree to marry Ed," Weir smiles excitedly. He can't wait to see his best friend settle down in life too and Ed was a good man. "What do you think, Arthit?"

"I'm waiting for him to agree too," Arthit mumbled as he gazed at Ed who was talking and joking with everyone.
