I've been revamping my Mario sona Opal's bio recently, and it's changed a lot since I posted her short description on DeviantArt. Now, she has more of a backstory to her. Here's what Opal looks like, along with her pet snow leopard Dalmatian because I feel that he needs more love:

Opal is a teenaged psychic human who lives on the unexplored Ryukyu Island in the kingdom of Aviaria. She has fair skin and chocolate brown hair, plus black eyes and two pink swirls on her cheeks which indicate that she has her powers. Her hair is tied back with a pearl hair band. The outfit she is seen wearing consists of a navy blue dress with no sleeves and yellow floral designs on it, and a white cravat with an opal gemstone on it, which she simply wears as a fashion statement. Her footwear consists of chartreuse legs that go up to the middle of her lower legs and black boots with zippers on the sides.

Having lived in solitude all her life, Opal has a socially awkward, nervous and reclusive personality. She really isn't open to meeting new people because of the warnings that she had heard as a kid. Because of this, Opal resorted to trying to socialize with the creatures on the island, but it isn't working out that much. Opal still has an adventurous and wild personality, seeing as Ryukyu Island is a large island and she and her family have it all to themselves as a little safe-haven. There's plenty of space for her to have fun, and this allows her to develop her sense of athleticism. Athletics are Opal's main passion; if you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up, she'll tell you she wants to be a gymnast. Even outside of the island, she can run wild because of her powers allowing her spirit to be present in other places for her, but Opal wishes that she could experience it in the flesh. Generally, while she doesn't have much of a social life, she still enjoys doing exciting things.

Opal possesses extraordinary psychic abilities, which are very rare. She is able to do amazing things like look into people's memories and make herself virtually present in locations of any distance away from her, the latter of which is her only window to the outside world. Her parasol, Marisol, which Mindy traded for as a special gift for Opal, allows her to float down safely from a high location. Opal enjoys using her as a pole vault. (This is because Marisol is a magic umbrella like Perry from Super Princess Peach.) Because of the way she was raised, Opal is okay at sneaking, but she can't do it that well enough.

Having been born with such great psychic abilities, Opal was often kept at home. A lot. She was homeschooled and raised by her mother Mindy, her father Jasper and her maternal grandmother Sapphire. Because Jasper (who also possessed these abilities) and Opal's powers were very rare, they had to keep them secret because they knew outsiders would freak out if seen. Jasper actually knew how to hide the swirls on his cheeks, but Opal didn't. He tried teaching it to her once, but she couldn't get the hang of it. The family lived in a mountain range known as the Facet Alps where Opal couldn't leave the house for that reason. The people of the Facet Alps aren't used to magic or powers. At times, Opal felt trapped.

At some point, to make it up to her for having to keep her under that roof, Mindy bought a parasol, which she gave to her daughter as a gift. At another time, the family took in a snow leopard that was trying to run from hunters, who Opal named Dalmatian, and he became her only friend. One day, Jasper accidentally revealed his swirls to the public, causing everybody to freak out and want to track down psychic humans like him. Because this caused their mountain home to not be safe anymore, Opal and her family were forced to leave, but Jasper ran away with unknown whereabouts now. The ladies and Dalmatian, on the other hand, took a boat and sailed off. When a tsunami caused the boat to wreck, all four of them miraculously survived, but they washed up on Ryukyu Island, a mysterious island that was a part of the kingdom of Aviaria, an ally to the Mushroom kingdom. It was never seen, not even by the delinquents who often make mischief throughout it. Opal and her family live there now, but they are still trying to protect her.

Trivia:
- At one point, Opal developed a crush on a lover of composing and music, but she's emotionally prepared for a possible time when he may break her heart.
- All of Opal's clothes, including her hair band made of pearls, were made by her grandmother.
- Opal's parasol, Marisol, has been a parasol all her life.
- Opal loves folk music because it was the genre she heard most often in her life.
- Opal's name when I first thought her up was Jess, and she and Dalmatian were originally the only inhabitants of Ryukyu island.

This is what the other known members of Opal's family look like. Mindy is a little overprotective, but she is generally kind and caring, and she just wants to keep her family safe. Sapphire is just as caring, but she is very funny and upbeat. Jasper is cautious, patient, and a little bit adventurous; he is doing whatever it takes to find his family, going wherever they might be.

Sapphire's hair is green because that's a thing that happens with this psychic human species. If they have a child, a certain gemstone is bestowed upon the child, and they are named after this gemstone. When the people get old, their hair turns the color of the gemstone their child was given. Because Moldavite is forest green, Sapphire's hair is now that color. Her parents' hair are now blue. Mindy and Jasper's hair will turn pretty rainbow colors when they get older since Opal's gemstone has those colors. Psychic people who decide not to have children will have their hair turn gray like our hair does.
