Lucy Williams
AN: Before Luke was born
Lucy POV:
I smiled dreamily at my friend and all time crush as he laughed at his friend. Oh, I'm Lucy Williams and I am eighteen years old. I attend NYU with my crush. The only downside? He is only here from 1:00 to 2:00. (Sorry I changed the times.) Anyway I think he likes me back. How I know? He always smiles at me when he catches me looking at him and he laughs at my jokes. That has to mean something, right? The bell rang for lunch so I packed up my backpack and slung it over my shoulder. "Hey, Percy!"
"Hey, Lucy. How are you?" He asked. See he cares about me.
"I'm great! How are you?" I replied. He smiled.
"I'm doing well. Let's go get some lunch." We walked back to the dorm building and into the lunch room. Percy sat down at the usual table with David, Loren, Jack and me. Loren is Jack's new girlfriend but Jack was sick today. We were all talking about Finding Nemo, I know what collage kids should be talking about, when the lunch room went silent. I turned towards the door and saw a beautiful woman around my age. I was instantly jealous. She had long curly blonde hair, beautiful grey eyes, and tan skin. She appeared to be wearing no makeup and still looked beautiful. She was wearing leggings and a NYU sweatshirt with red converse. She goes here? I've never seen her here. She walked over to our table and smiled at Percy. I rolled my eyes. One of those girls.
"Hey, Percy." She said as she sat in the chair next to her. My eyes narrowed. Percy smiled.
"Hey. What are you doing here?" He asked. The girl smiled and whispered something in his ear. His smile widened.
"Really?!" He exclaimed. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?" She shrugged then laughed as she leaned her head on his shoulder. No. not going to happen.
"Wait, Percy, you know her?" I asked. Annabeth lifted her head. Much better.
"Yeah. This is Annabeth, my wife." He said. I nodded.
"Oh, Okay well-" I stopped and my hazel eyes widened. "Wife?!"
"Yeah, you've got a problem with that?" Annabeth asked as she grabbed Percy's hand and laced their fingers together. She's kind of rude. I could be a much better girlfriend or wife and treat Percy kinder.
"I'm Lucy." I said. "How long have you known each other?" I waited for her to say like a year or something but that is not what I got.
"About seven years." Percy said. Oh.. I've only known him for not even a year. "Dated for about one and have been married for two." Only two? It will never last.
"Why are you guys married?" I asked. Please not because of pregnancy.
"Because we love each other and we've been through a lot." Percy told me.
"What kind of stuff?" I pressed. Annabeth glared.
"That's none of your business." She snapped.
"Annabeth, calm down." Percy said. Annabeth took a deep breath.
"Alright, fine, I'm calm." She said through gritted teeth. Percy laid a hand on her back. "Well I got to go. See you at home. Sally made cookies for us for when Paul and her are out all night" She kissed him then winked and I had to resist the urge to cry and throw up at the same time.
"Bye, love you." He said. She smiled.
"Love you too." Then she walked out the doors and hopefully out of the building.
"I haven't seen her here before." David asked.
"She takes online classes at home." Percy answered.
"What did she whisper to you, Percy?" I asked. He looked at me with a smirk and an eyebrow raised. That was so hot.
"She had an ultrasound today." He smiled. I choked on my water, Loren squealed, and David smiled.
"What was it?" Loren asked, happily.
"Healthy baby boy." Percy said proudly. David fist bumped Percy.
"Always knew this would happen. Ever since I met you two at camp when we were fourteen." David said.
"Annabeth goes to this mysterious camp of yours?" I asked, a little angry.
"Yeah." David and Percy both said. Not fair. I crossed my arms. The bell rung and Percy jumped up.
"Well, people, I got to go." He said as he walked towards the door. I ran up to him and grabbed his arm.
"Percy, can I talk to you real quick?" I asked.
"Sure. Where do you want to talk?" He asked. I thought about it. No one is outside.
"Outside." We walked out the door and faced each other. We were about two feet apart. "Are you sure your happy? People are supposed to date around first before getting married."
"I am very happy with my relationship." He smiled, though it looked forced. (*Rolls eyes* Dumb. He's uncomfortable around you.)
"Percy you can trust me. You don't have to lie." I said as I stepped closer.
"I'm not lying. I'm in a happy relationship and have a baby on the way." He said. I looked at him sadly.
"She seemed kind of rude. Did she force you to do anything?" I asked.
"What? No!" Percy said.
"Okay I'm going to be honest with you and you can chose. I know you'll make the right decision." I said knowing he'll pick me and leave that woman. "I really, really, really like you, Percy. I know you like me too. You don't have to fake it. So Annabeth or me?"
"I-" He started but I cut him off.
"Listen to me. How do you even know the baby is yours? You guys are young to be married. She could be cheating on you but me? I would never leave or cheat on you." I whispered as I stepped closer. He backed away.
"I chose, Annabeth."
"I knew you'd make-" I stopped. "Wait, what?"
"I chose my wife. Why wouldn't I? I love her with all my life and it is my child. She would never cheat on me. Goodbye Lucy." He said.
"But-"
"I said goodbye." Then he hopped in his car and drove away. I let the tears fall. It was so unfair. I could treat him so much better but now I ruined any chance we had! If there even was one.
Well that's how I met Percabeth. I hate them.
