Jack Miller
Jack POV:
Today, I was going to meet my friend, Percy's, wife and kid. I parked in front of their house and walked up the steps to the door. I knocked then waited for about a minute when finally, the door opened revealing a beautiful young woman. She had curly blonde hair that went a little past her shoulders and dangerous grey eyes. She wore grey sweatpants with a black T-shirt.
I was about the same height as Percy so she was a head shorter than me.
I squirmed under her gaze a little before I spoke, "Um, are you Annabeth Jackson?" Her hand moved towards her hip and she gave a slight glare.
"Yes, who wants to know?" She sassily replied.
"I'm Jack Miller, Percy's friend." I told her.
"Oh." She said and her tense shoulders lowered and her arm dropped back to her side. "Yeah, um, sorry." She ran a hand through her curly mess and chuckled quietly.
"It's fine." I said awkwardly. They stood in awkward silence before she yelped, causing me to jump slightly.
"It's cold outside, come in." She opened the door wider and stepped aside, letting me come into her house.
"Nice place." I muttered. Annabeth smiled and waited while I took my jacket off and set it on a coat hanger and set my boots on the rug.
"Thanks." She turned to me and jabbed her thumb to the stairs. "I'll be right back, I have to go check on Luke. Feel free to sit in the living room." I nodded and sat down one of the chairs and watched Annabeth run up the stairs.
While Annabeth checked in on Luke I looked around their living room. The walls were a light grey and the furniture was a nice sandy color. On the brown hardwood floor was a light blue rug. Besides the couch there were two other chairs on the other side of the room with a small circle coffee table in between them.
On the table beside the couch were two picture frames. One was a beautiful silver picture frame with little wave designs. In the frame was a picture of Percy and Annabeth on their wedding. Annabeth's arms were wrapped around his neck and Percy's arms were wrapped around her waist, their foreheads pressed together, and smiles on their faces.
The second frame was a plain silver one and inside the frame was a picture of a little boy around three, sitting on a bench in Central Park, smiling at the camera. The boy had sea green eyes and curly blonde hair. He wore a black long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and black fancy shoes on.
The third picture frame was the same design as the second. Inside was the same bench but instead of just Luke, Percy and Annabeth sat on either side of him. Luke sat in the middle and Annabeth's right arm was wrapped around his shoulders- her hand on his shoulder. Percy's left arm wrapped around Luke's shoulder- his hand on his other shoulder. It really was an adorable picture.
I snapped my gaze over to the door as I heard it creak open. Then, my friend Percy, came through the door in his work clothes, bobbing his head to music that was pouring into his ears by earphones.
I laughed and stood. I walked over to him when his back was turned to me and took out his headphones. He turned around.
"Hey! What was that- Oh, hey Jack!" He interrupted himself. I laughed.
"Hey." I said back and he looked around.
"Where's Annabeth?" Percy asked. I was about to tell him she was upstairs when she answered.
"Right here." I turned around and saw her carrying the boy in the picture. He looked around three. Luke's head rested on Annabeth's shoulders as his arms wrapped around her neck. "He just woke up from a nap."
"Oh." Percy nodded. He walked over to him and gave Annabeth a kiss on the lips and Luke a kiss on the head. "Hey, buddy."
"Hi, Daddy." Luke yawned. "Is that your friend?" He pointed at me.
"Yes, Luke." Percy said. "That's Jack. I went to college with him.
"Oh." Luke nodded against his mother's shoulder. "Mommy."
"Yes, Lukey?" She asked.
"I'm hungry." He said and right on cue his stomach grumbled causing us all to laugh.
"Alright. I'll go make dinner." Annabeth passed Luke over to Percy then she went to the kitchen to start cooking.
"Jack? Are you eating with us?" She called.
"Yeah, sure." I called back. "Thank you." I followed Percy into the living room and sat down next to him on the couch.
"So, tell me about it." I said to Percy. He looked at me in confusion after he turned a show on for Luke.
"Tell you about what?" Percy asked.
"About being a dad." I informed.
"Oh. Well it can be stressful but it can also be the best thing ever." Percy leaned back into the couch. "If anyone would have told me I'd be married to Annabeth Chase and had a child with her in the future when I was twelve I would have laughed."
"So you enjoy it?"
"Yeah, I do." Percy said, looking down at Luke who was sitting on a blue blanket, watching his show, and eating some goldfish- Annabeth brought him some- while he waited for dinner to be ready.
----
The Jacksons and I sat at the table and began eating the wonderful casserole Annabeth had made.
"So, Jack, what do you do for a living?" Annabeth questioned.
"I work with Percy but on the other side of the building." I answered her.
"Oh, Percy never told me that." Percy shrugged.
"I didn't think it was important!" Percy defended himself. Annabeth looked taken aback.
"I didn't say I was mad or anything..." Annabeth muttered with a laugh.
Percy sighed. "Oh, okay."
That's how I met Percabeth and Luke.
Sorry it wasn't very interesting.
