Chase Family Reunion/Jasper meets Luke: part 1

Author: this takes place about 5 1/2 months after Blofis Family Reunion.

3rd peson POV:

Five 1/2 month old, Luke was seated in his bouncer as Paw Patrol played on the TV.  He was bouncing up and down, happily, as he watched the show. Yes, it's not realistic for a baby to be ding this at that age but his grandmother is Athena and his mother is Annabeth. What do you expect? His mother, was sitting on the floor in grey sweatpants and a T-shirt. Her hair was in a messy braid. She had her laptop open, a notebook in her hands, and a pencil in her mouth. Percy and Annabeth were taking online college classes so they could stay home with Luke. Unfortunately, to become a Marine Biologist, Percy had to take one of his classes at one of the buildings.  So from  2:00 pm to 3:30 Percy was at NYU, which was right now. It was currently 2:30.  Sally and Paul were out running errands, leaving Annabeth alone with Luke. She did.t mind though. She didn't like him out of her sight. Ever since that awful reunion, Annabeth didn't just have PTSD from Tartarus and the wars. She also had it because of the night she almost lost her little  boy.

She'd have nightmares of Dr. Thorne dropping Luke in the fire and Percy being hit by that fireball. Or she'd have nightmares that the Blofis' really did take Luke away from her. She'd wake up crying then would run to Luke's room, pick him up, and bring him to bed with her and her husband.

Annabeth was getting frustrated with one of her classes. Her dyslexia was really bad today and she had to read out of an online textbook. She kept getting confused with this one word, circumference. Her dyslexia kept mixing up the word. After a few more minutes of trying to figure it out she slammed her hand down on the hard wood floor. The sound it made was really loud and scared the baby. Luke whimpered. Annabeth looked up at him and saw tears in his eyes. He blinked and they started rolling down his little cheeks. Annabeth stood up and picked him up out of the bouncer.

"I'm sorry. Mommy didn't mean to scare you. It's okay. It's okay." Annabeth whispered as she rubbed her baby's back. She hated seeing him cry, it made her heart break. "Are you hungry?" She walked to the kitchen and set Luke in his high chair when he stopped crying. She walked over to a cabinet, opened it, and grabbed the baby food. she then opened up a drawer and grabbed a baby spoon. She sat down on a stool in front of  Luke and opened the container. She dipped the spoon in the food and put it in Luke's mouth.

"There you go. Eat it all up, little man." Annabeth scooped up more of the food. "Here comes the airplane!" She then made airplane noises until the spoon was in his mouth. Luke giggled. Annabeth smiled and continued feeding him.  After the container was empty she wiped his face with a wash cloth.

"Are you tired? You didn't nap today." She said as she picked her son up and cradled him. She walked up the stairs and opened the door to his room. She set him on the changing table and unzipped his onesie. She grabbed a clean diaper and remove the dirty one. She wiped Luke clean and placed the fresh diaper on him. She threw away the old diaper and turned back to her son. She bent down and kissed the little scar on his shoulder.

"I love you, Lukey." She whispered. "Guess what? Mommy has a scar on her shoulder too. Just a little bigger. I'll tell you one day why it's there but I'll tell you this. I got it protecting your daddy."

Luke smiled a gummy smile at his mom. He reached up and grabbed a loose curl that came out of her braid.

"Don't you dare pull it." She said, smiling. "Or... I'll tickle you!" Luke's sea green eyes brightened. He pulled the curl with a hard tug. Harder then usual.

"Geez, your strong!" Annabeth gasped. "You asked for it, Lukey." Annabeth then began tickling his little feet. Luke squealed and giggled. Annabeth then moved her hand to her son's legs and began tickling them laughing as Luke laughed. She kept tickling him until he started to cry from being tickled too much. Annabeth stopped and picked him up. She bounced the small baby to calm him down. He was so light. Yes, he was five 1\2 months but he wasn't big but her wasn't small either. He was just perfect. She sat on the rocking chair and rocked Luke. He fell asleep in his mothers arms. She stood and laid him in the crib, turned on the nightlight, turned on the CD player, and shut the light off. She stepped into the hallway and walked down the stairs. She picked up her school stuff and sat on the couch. She continued working.

Line Break--

Annabeth was squinting at the screen trying to figure out a word when she heard the door open.

Percy walked in the door to hear nothing. No crying, no laughing, no squeals, no tv, and no music. He walked to the living room and saw his wife sitting on the couch with a frustrated look on her face. She was squinting at her computer screen. "Hey, Wise Girl." Percy said as he sat down next to her.

"Hi." She muttered. Percy put a hand on her shoulder.

"Where's Luke?" He asked looking around.

"Sleeping." She sighed and slammed her computer shut. "I have a headache." She stood up and walked to the kitchen and opened the medicine cabinet that had a lock on it because of Luke. She grabbed the ibuprofen and opened it taking out three tablets. Percy filled a glass of water and handed it to her.

"Thanks." She said when she was done taking the medicine. She walked over to her husband and wrapped her arms around his neck and put her face in the crook of his neck. Percy wrapped his arms around her waist. She walked over to the counter where her monster proof phone was.

"Piper and Jason are coming over." She said looking at her phone. Her wallpaper was a picture of Luke smiling his gummy smile at the camera. She smiled at it. Percy walked over and wrapped an arm around her shoulders and looked at what she was smiling at. He saw the wallpaper and smiled. She unlocked it and the wallpaper was a picture of them on their wedding day.

(A PIC LIKE THAT BUT WITH PERCABETH)"Okay. What time?" He asked. She looked up at her husband.

"In about 20 minutes so let's clean the living room."  Annabeth said.

"My parents can do that!" He complained.

"Do what?" They heard Paul  from the hallway. Annabeth glared at Percy.

"Nothing. I was telling Percy that we should clean the living room because Jason and Piper were coming over." She said. Paul and sally walked into the kitchen. "Then he said you guys could do it. But, Percy, we should do it since it is our son who made the mess. He's our responsibility. We clean after him." She said turning to her husband. Sally and Paul chuckled. Annabeth started to help put away the groceries.

"Go pick up Luke's toys, Percy." Annabeth said. Percy nodded, saluted his wife, then walked into the living room.

"He's such a dork. Dear gods, why'd I marry him again?" She asked Sally jokingly.  Sally laughed and continued putting away groceries. Annabeth walked into the living room to see Percy cleaning. Annabeth picked up a few toys and dropped them in the bin that was labeled 'TOYS'. A few minutes later the room was clean and the door bell rung. Percy winced hoping it wouldn't wake up Luke.

"Hi guys! Why'd you stop over again?" Annabeth asked. She gave Piper and Jason a hug. Piper showed Annabeth her left hand. "OH MY GODS." She screamed. A little cry erupted from upstairs. Percy groaned and glared at Annabeth.

"Really?" He asked. He turned and walked up the stairs. He pushed open Luke's door.

"Hey little guy!" He said as he picked his son up. Percy walked down stairs and sat on the couch, cradling Luke. Percy picked up the pacifier that Luke dropped and stuck it in his mouth. He was still fussing a little.

"Did mommy wake you up?" Percy asked. Jason walked in and sat next to Percy. He patted his 'bro' on the back.

"Nice job, man." He said pointing at Luke. Percy smiled.

"Thanks. So your engaged, huh?" Percy asked as he grabbed a blue blanket with Luke's name and birthday one it. 'Lukas Charles Jackson. August 4th.' He wrapped Luke up in the blanket and held his son against his chest. The baby stopped whining and played with the end of his blanket.

"Yup." Jason said. Then the girls walked in. Piper squealed.

"We haven't gotten to see him yet!" Piper said. When Luke was a week from being born Jason, Piper, and Leo had another quest. They went missing for about a month. They showed up at camp scraped and bloody but succeeded. Annabeth and Percy couldn't go see the because of Luke and Piper and Jason couldn't come visit because they were busy.

"Do you want to hold him?" Annabeth asked. Piper squealed and nodded. She sat on the other side of Percy. Percy took his son off of his chest ,unwrapped him, and placed him in Piper's arms.

"He's so cute and tiny!" She exclaimed. "How old is he?"

"Five and a half months." Percy said. Piper made goofy faces making Luke giggle. Annabeth snapped a picture of them and smiled. She walked over to the two and sat in front of them.

"He looks so much like you, Annabeth." Jason said.

"Yeah. He has Percy's eyes though." She said.

"What's his name again?" Piper asked.

"Lukas Charles. Right Lukey?" Annabeth said stroking Luke's little blonde curly head. Luke made a gurgling noise and reached for his mom. Annabeth grabbed Luke and gave him a big kiss on the cheek making Luke squeal. Luke took one of Annabeth's curls...again and pulled it...again. Annabeth gasped.

"You did not just do that, Lukey!" Annabeth said, faking to be mad. Luke's green eyes sparkled. He tugged it again. "You know what that means. Kisses or tickles? Hmmm." Annabeth pretended to think. "How about..both!" She then smothered his face with kisses then started to tickle his feet. Piper Jason, and Percy smiled at the two.

"She's a great mom." Percy said. Piper and Jason smiled even more.

"We can tell." They said at the same time. The three burst out laughing. Silence followed after. They jumped when Luke let out a loud giggle.

"Gods, Lukey, you scared us!" Percy shouted and then laughed. Annabeth stopped tickling their baby to glare at Percy and Luke looked at his dad. His eyes got wide and filled with tears. He started to cry. Percy hopped off the couch and took Luke into his arms.

"You idiot! You know he's really sensitive!" Annabeth said. Luke got Annabeth's smarts and Percy's silliness so Luke can understand some words. Like, 'scared, mommy, daddy, tickles, kisses, don't do it, and I Love you' and is able to hold himself up in a bouncer because his mom could at that age.

"And I'm sorry. I love you, Lukey"Percy said. Luke held out his arms for Annabeth. She took him and he moved towards her breast and grabbed her shirt trying to pull in down.

"You hungry, baby?" Annabeth asked. She walked into the kitchen and a few seconds later she walked out with a blanket over the side her baby was eating on. She had her phone in her hand and was staring at the screen. "Jason can you read this?"

"Sure." He took the phone and read. "It's from your dad. He said that the day after tomorrow they're having a family reunion and he wants you there tomorrow." He said. Luke was done eating and Annabeth was burping him. She sighed.

"Anabeth, we don't have to go." percy said.

"No we'll go. It's people I know." She told her husband.

Line Break---

Luke was asleep for the night and Percy and Annabeth were sitting on the couch while Sally made dinner. Jason and Piper left about 20 minutes ago. Annabeth had her computer on er stomach as she laid down on the couch with her head in Percy's lap. Percy played with Annabeths hair as she bought plane tickets.

"How about the 6:00 pm flight?" She asked.

"Sure." Percy bent down and kissed his wife's forehead.

She bought the tickets. Another family reunion here they come.
