"It's a simple escort mission," Andrea's spoke, his upper body leaning against the hood of the truck as he pointed towards a marked map. "Pick up the prisoner in Solaria, and bring him to Long Shore where he'll board a ship for Polaris. The Solarian troops will do the heavy lifting. We're just backup."

The shadows threatened to spill out as Vienna watched the exchange of information from the shadows. Only one thought was running through her mind at that very moment.

Rescue her father.

Vienna tried to patiently wait as Andreas continued to debrief, but there was only so much waiting that she could do.The girl made sure to be as stealthy as possible as she attempted to use the shadows to move closer to the map. This was a difficult feat in broad daylight, but the sheer determination and stubbornness allowed the shadow fairy to push the limits of her abilities.

In the end, she didn't get as close as she would've liked, but it was close enough to get a good glimpse of the detailed annotations of the map in front of her. She now had a time and place.

All she needed to do now was to intercept the vehicle carrying her father.

Only a couple hours left til show time.

🗡🗡🗡

You would think that Vienna Silva would feel at least a small hint of nervousness about now, you know, considering a whole prison break of sorts was about to happen.

Surprisingly, Vie was anything but nervous. She was determined, and her determination hasn't let her down so far. She takes after her father after all.

The girl hastily made her way down the transport route that she had memorised, her shadow form aiding her to be discreet in the process. Her first step in the plan was easy. Find a place for the ambush to occur.

She stopped abruptly as her eyes registered the sight in front of her, her body materialising out of the shadows as she moved closer.

"Are you kidding," she muttered as she eyed the burnt down bridge in front of her, her hands moving to rest on her hips. She sighed as she pulled out her phone, fingers nimbly working to pull up the map of the local area.

The shadow fairy was now presented with two options. One, she could assume Andreas doesn't know about the burnt bridge and ambush the group here, or assume that he had somehow updated his route and try to confront the group on the new route.

Vienna tapped her feet in thought, her hand moving to slide her phone back into her pocket. "Screw it, he's forced to go to the new route either way," she mumbled to herself as she dematerialised once again, her body now shifting in a slightly different direction towards the other available road.

Once Vienna deduced that she had enough cover from the trees and foliage, she materialised back into her human form. Her hands reached for her knives, ones that she had specifically bought for the sake of sacrificing on this personal mission, and hastily pulled them out as she heard the humming of an engine coming in her direction.

She pulled back her arm with the blade between her fingers, her body moving gently as she took deep breaths in and out.

"Wait!" A voice hissed, one hand aggressively wrapping around Vienna's wrist.

"What the-"

Vienna cut herself off as she swirled around, her eyes falling on the group of familiar fairies behind her.

"What the fuck are you doing here," Vienna spat with a murderous tone, eyes narrowed into a glare as she stared down the red-haired flame fairy.

"It's okay, Vie," Musa spoke with a gentle smile, one arm resting on her arm and reassurance. "We've got a plan."

The shadow fairy nodded, suddenly feeling a lot calmer.

"If you're gonna do something, do it quick," she stated as she turned towards the road, noticing how quickly the cars were approaching towards them.

She watched as the engine began to sputter violently, causing the vehicle carrying her father to slow down to a stop.

"Okay Terra," Aisha began, the temporary glow of her eyes dying down. "You're up."

Vienna held her breath as she observed the earth magic in action, the sound of the moving vines disguised by the sound of her father being transferred to a different vehicle.

Her eyes darted between her father and the vine that was sneaking up behind the solarian soldier, her fingers itching to involve herself in the situation like she had intended to from the beginning.

"Wait," Musa warned Terra, right as the soldier moved his hand into his pocket. The girl waited a few seconds with her arm held out, before giving the go ahead signal. "Okay, now."

The sound of an engine starting pulled Vienna's attention away from the key heist and towards the vehicle. Silva was precariously laying across the back of the truck as it began to move off, his arms chained to the metal rails to prevent his escape.

"Wait," Vienna spoke up, "how-" she cut herself off as she watched a water bubble fly after the car, the key safely cushioned in the middle. "Oh, nevermind."

It didn't take long for her father to grab onto the key, but much to everyone's dismay, nothing else seemed to be happening regarding his escape.

"He needs a distraction," Bloom realised. "Aisha, can you pull the gas from the tank?"

The water fairy nodded with glowing eyes, before concentrating on causing the leak.

"We should probably move."

The group of fairies mumbled in agreement as they began to move further into the forest and away from the truck, only stopping when the sound of an explosion shook the earth around them.

Vienna promptly began to move through the forest again, desperate to find out whether her father had been able to escape.

The dense forest made it difficult for her to see clearly, but she could just about make out some figures hurriedly running through the forest in front of her.

She ran as quietly as she could through the trees, retaining her human form so the others could keep up with her. She stumbled as she reached the riverside, almost accidentally flying off the edge due to stopping so abruptly.

A strange sound erupted from her throat as she watched her father jump several metres down a steep drop and into the river, with a long tracking arrow protruding from his shoulder.

"Da-" Her scream was muffled by a hand latching over her mouth, and Vienna instinctively moved her hands to rip it off of her.

"Shhh," Musa called out calmly, and thankfully Vienna could feel herself calming down little by little. "Aisha is gonna help him breathe underwater," she explained, slowly letting go of Vie. "Silva will be okay."

The shadow fairy simply nodded as she took in shuddered breaths. She could still feel her heart pounding furiously in her chest.

But at least her father was safe now, right?

this chapter is absolute ass but I've had zero motivation to write so im using what little motivation i have right now to post.

i do have a small and basic plot in mind for post season two, and it might turn out absolutely terrible, so i guess we'll see how that turns out.
