Vienna was surprised when Sky approached her and her father the next morning, but chose not to say anything. The three of them patrolled the front of the school, trying to regain some kind of order after what had occurred the night before.

Vienna stayed silent as they walked, not wanting to be the one to break the tension between the two males. She could see both sides of the situation, and didn't want to appear to take sides.

"Where's Riven?" Silva finally spoke awkwardly, as if he didn't know what else to say.

"Probably getting stoned somewhere with Dane." Sky responded, much to Vienna's surprise. "Can't believe he knew this place was fucked way before I did. Didn't even take a dead dad."

"Ouch," Vienna muttered under her breath, awkwardly kicking away at the stones beneath her feet.

Silva sighed softly. "One day, I hope you will see that everything I did was for your benefit, Sky."

The sound of multiple cars pulling up in the driveway caused Vienna to turn around in confusion, her eyes falling on the familiar flags adorning the vehicles.

"Why are the Solarians here?" the girl questioned as she turned her head towards her father, but she was met with a shrug, a similar expression of confusion on his features.

"I don't know. I told them the attack was over."

"What the hell is going on?" the blonde boy questioned, with both his and Vienna's hands flying to the hilt of their swords as the soldiers began to surround them.

"Easy," Silva warned as he held out his arm in front of them, but he too seemed quite alarmed by what was happening. The many soldiers readied themselves in front of the trio, their bows ready as if they were ready to fire at any given moment. Vienna turned her head at the sound of a car door opening, and her eyes fell on the woman stepping out of the vehicle.

"Queen Luna?"

Vienna's grip loosened slightly, but her hand remained on her sword, her eyes narrowed slightly.

"Your Majesty."

"Saul Silva," the woman spoke, slowly approaching the older man with her hands clasped in front of her, an unreadable expression on her face. "It's with a heavy heart I must place you under arrest."

"I beg your pardon?" Vienna questioned in a raised tone, causing several soldiers to raise their arrows threateningly towards her.

"For what?" the older man questioned, shifting his weight on his feet as his eyes assessed the situation.

The woman sighed, but Vienna could tell there was something awfully fake about the concern she was showing. "The attempted murder... of Andreas of Eraklyon."

Sky faltered where he stood, his voice cracking slightly. "Attempted?"

The sound of another car door opening caught their attention, and Vienna watched as an older man stepped out of the vehicle. A man she recognised from various pictures that her father had around their house and in his office in the academy.

"Hello, Sky," the man finally spoke, and Vienna's mouth curled up in disgust. Not only did this man force her father's hand into battle, he let Sky believe he had been dead for practically his whole life.

"Dad?" Vienna mumbled softly as she attempted to move closer to Silva. But before she could latch onto his hand, two Solarian soldiers seized him by the shoulders and aggressively began to march him towards one of the cars.

"No," she mumbled as she went to move after him, her eyes welling up with tears. "No!"

Unfamiliar arms wrapped around her as she tried to run to her father, a number of threats muttering into her ear as she struggled in their grip. Tears steadily fell down her face as she thrashed in the soldier's arms, her breath feeling like it was being knocked out of her as she watched her father being shoved into the car.

"Let him go!" she bellowed, her eyes glowing bright purple as she felt power trembling through her veins, the heightened emotions doubling any power she would feel on a normal day. She fell to her knees as she cried out, a large scream escaping from her. In that moment, a large wave of power erupted from the girl, allowing large tendrils of pure black vines to surge out from every shadow in the vicinity.

Her eyes glowed like violet flames as she watched, the tendrils of black snaking around the bodies of every single soldier who was standing between her and her father. The person holding her began to choke from behind her, and their grip very quickly loosened.

Vienna hadn't meant to let her magic run out of control, but in that moment, she didn't care that the solidified shadows were slithering up and around their bodies, latching onto their necks and restricting any oxygen from entering their lungs.

The soldiers choked as their hands flew towards their neck, any weapons they were holding dropping to the floor with a thud as their fingers tried to pull away the magical vines curling around their necks.

"Vienna. Vie, you have to stop," Sky pleaded as he sank to his knees beside her, his hands holding onto her face as he forced her to look at him. "This isn't going to help him."

The purple faded away as she stared into his blue eyes, tears steadily falling down her face. She could feel the vines dissipate into the shadows once more as they released their prisoners, but she didn't care to see if they were okay.

"Let her say goodbye," Luna stated, causing Vie to look up in surprise, but the woman paid no mind to her. Vienna scrambled to her feet and ran towards where her father was, almost tripping due to how fast she had gotten up. She jumped straight into her father's arms as he stepped out of the car, her arms tightly wrapping around his waist, her fingers clenching around the back of his shirt.

"I can't lose you, Dad," she cried out as she hid her face in his neck, and felt him tightly wrap his arms around her.

"It'll be okay, sweetheart," he mumbled, one hand cradling the back of her head.

"It's not gonna be okay," she exclaimed. "I need you with me. Please, Dad, I can't.. They're gonna execute you.." she trailed off, her voice cracking slightly. She tightened her grip around him as if he was going to be ripped away from her any moment. "I can't..."

"I wish there was something I could do," he said as he pulled away from her, both hands moving to her face, his thumbs softly brushing across her cheeks to wipe away her tears. Sobs wracked through her body as she held onto his hands, the girl feeling unable to form any other words.

Silva turned his gaze slightly to look past her, tears welling up in his own eyes, and gave a subtle nod.

A few moments later she felt familiar arms wrap around her, but she refused to move, her hand unable to let go of her father's.

"Come on, Vie," Sky gently spoke as he tried to pull her away, but she refused to look away from her father.

"I love you, Vienna," Saul spoke as two guards moved towards him again, pulling him away from the girl. His hand ripped out of her grip, and her hand pathetically fell to her side. Her heart cracked as she watched them place his hands into metal cuffs, the man unresisting as he kept his eyes on her.

"I love you too, Dad," she responded, her voice cracking again, her heart shattering into smaller and smaller pieces as she watched from Sky's arms, her back leaning against his chest.

"Sky, you'll look after her won't you?" the man spoke, his eyes pleading as he looked at the boy.

Vienna felt Sky nod. "I will."

"Promise me, Sky," the older man begged again. "Promise me you'll protect her."

"I promise, Silva. I'll protect her with my life."

"Well, that's enough theatrics," Luna interrupted as Vienna turned in Sky's arms, her face pressing into his chest. She felt herself falling to her knees as one hand moved to her mouth, a pathetic attempt to muffle her sobs. Sky fell with her, his arms tightening around her as she continued to sob into his neck. She tightened her arms around him in response, almost as if she was afraid to lose him too.

She didn't know how long she was there for. She was so lost in her own emotions that she hadn't registered that her father had been taken away, along with most of the Solarian troops.

"Let me get you inside," Sky murmured softly, his hand moving up to gently hold her face. The girl tiredly shook her head at him, not having the energy to even form a verbal response. The combination of hysterically crying and using tremendous power had drained the girl, and she didn't even have the energy to move from where she was still kneeling on the grass.

She didn't protest as the boy scooped her up into his arms, and instead wordlessly laid her head against his shoulder. Her head painfully throbbed from all the crying she had done, and she could feel herself slipping into unconsciousness as the boy carried her through the halls of the school.

Before she could find out where he was taking her, the girl fell asleep in his arms.
