The Book 〜 Jerstie
WARNINGS: Death
Kirstin and Jeremy were co-workers at a storage unit for years, and one day they both came upon a book with the words "Death words" printed on it.
"What the heck is this?" Jeremy picked it up and read the first page.
"Every living person has a word that, if said by anyone, will kill them instantly. All the words are made up or not used in everyday speaking. If the word is never said, the person will die by natural causes. Remember, if you use this to kill someone for revenge, payback, or just to be evil, you ARE considered a murderer."
Kirstin gasped. "Woah. Every living person?"
"Let's look up ours! But of course, not say them." Jeremy suggested.
The turned to L's for Lewis, because that was Jeremy's last name.
"Keith... Allison... Thomas... Jean... Jeremy!" He exclaimed.
"My word is..." He slid his finger across the page to see an odd word.
The word was Mungo.
"If that's a real word, I wanna see the definition." Kirstin demanded.
Jeremy looked on Google, and read the definition aloud, without saying the word.
"A dumpster diver – one who extracts valuable things from trash."
Kirstin bursted out in laughs. "You're a dumpster diver!" She taunted.
"Well, let's see yours!" Jeremy tried to fight back.
"Karolyn... Kirstin Maldonado! Let's see this." Kirstin was excited.
She slid her finger to see the word Limerence.
"Never heard that word." Kirstin shook her head. "That's a good thing, though."
Jeremy typed Limerence into Google on his phone, and he found the definition.
"The state of being infatuated or obsessed with another person, typically experienced involuntarily and characterized by a strong desire for reciprocation of one's feelings, but not primarily for a sexual relationship."
Kirstin blushed.
Jeremy smiled. "Who are you obsessed with?"
Kirstin nudged him on the arm.
She leaned in for a kiss and he accepted.
Their boss walked around the corner at that moment.
Kirstin saw him first. "Oh, Mr. Hoying! We are so sorry."
"No making out on the job, folks! What's that in your hand?" He snatched the book out of Kirstin's hand, reading the first page.
"Huh. I wanna read my word." Hoying skimmed through the book, looking for his last name.
"Here we go! Hoying, Scott. My word is..."
"Bawbee.... Oh no." He whispered to himself.
Scott immediately felt short of breath and fell to the ground, dead.
"Well, I guess that's what happens." Jeremy sighed.
"Let's look up the definition." Kirstin pulled out her phone and typed it in.
"A coin of low value."
"The word is Scottish too!" Kirstin giggled.
Jeremy smiled. "You're cute."
Kirstin smiled back. "I'm obsessed with someone, and I know who it is!"
Jeremy gasped. "Who?"
"You." 〜
