Monsters 〜 Mavi

WARNINGS: injury/blood

"BREAKING NEWS:
Every night since last month, parents have been reporting hearing screaming children, and even sometimes their children being gone. Some adults have also reported waking up with scratches all around their body. Today at 4, we have some real witness interviews and pictures. We also have some ideas to help prevent these awful things. This is channel 7, hoping to see you here at 4."

Kirstin wouldn't have believed any of that stuff, but she did.

Because it happened to her.

Her 3-year-old daughter, Sydney, was screaming at 4:30 AM the night before, and she had multiple scratches on her chest, that were obviously not self-inflicted.

Kirstin waited for 3 hours until the news came back on with the tips, but she silently sobbed to herself when the witnesses were telling their stories.

The advice portion of this topic came on, and Kirstin pressed record on her DVR section. She wanted to show this to her husband, Jeremy, when he can home from the business trip he was currently on.

Kirstin watched.

"For young children, you want to keep them in a windowless room, and always shut any vents that don't work in their room. Also try to keep their door at least half-shut overnight.
For adults and older children, those things may not work. We suggest you put on some kind of blindfold or sleeping mask when you go to sleep. But for everyone, fall asleep before 3 AM, and don't get up in between 3 AM and 6 AM. The Mavy monsters may get you."

Mavy monster, seriously?

Monsters don't exist. Kirstin thought, as she got in her car to pick up Sydney from daycare.

Underground, Mitch and Avi, known as the 'Mavy monsters', were also watching that segment on tv.

"Wow." Avi says, putting his arm around Mitch. "They think they can get away from us."

Mitch smirked. "And it also seems like they've tried to join our names together, ha."

Avi slammed his hand on his thigh. "Well they spelled my name wrong, that's for sure!"

They both sighed. "Well I hunk we should go to sleep. We have a big 'hunting' tonight." Mitch offered, standing up and pulling Avi's hand to the bed.

The two cuddled and slept until it was 3 AM.

"Let's go." Avi whispered, nudging Mitch.

They walked outside and used a special camera that detected if anyone was up in a house.

And they found someone. It was a woman looking outside of a window.

Kirstin wanted to prove that monsters weren't real, so she woke up at 3 AM and planned to stay up until 6 AM, with her camera ready.

Little did she know, Avi and Mitch weren't visible to the human eye.

So when they appeared at her home, they crawled through the window, passing Sydney on their way to her.

If you were asleep at that time, then Avi and Mitch couldn't see you.

Avi motioned Mitch to try and taunt her. He walked over and slid his claw down Kirstin's back delicately, so there was only a little bit of blood.

Kirstin wiped her back.

"Are you kidding?" She whispered to herself, walking to the bathroom.

Avi followed her there, and when she turned on the lights, he turned them back off.

Kirstin screamed, waking up some of her neighbors.

Avi and Mitch ran outside and high-fived.

"Thank you Kirstin!" Avi rejoiced and hugged Mitch.

Mitch gave Avi a peck on the cheek.

"Two and a half hours to go!" Mitch whispered.

"You're adorable." Avi commented. "I love you."

"I love you too."

They loved their job, and they never wanted to stop doing it. 〜
