The King's Question
Ink feels an itching in his soul as he chooses MERCY. He doesn't take notice to the itching, as he's always had it. He assumes it's normal.
"I can't even write," Ink explains, "I don't have my brush."
"All writers gotta go," Notedrake explains, "sorry Ink."
Notedrake attacks, but The King of Hell takes the blow with ease.
"Now you listen good here," he demands, "I am the king, and no one will kill anyone else if I can stop it. It may be best for you two to leave or things may get... messy."
Knowing they can't beat one of Edgar's creations, Notedrake and Pentale Lesser Dog flee.
"Thanks," Ink smiles, "I owe ya one."
"Then owe me this," The King of Hell replies with no delay, "this AU has no surface. When Frisk kills me, the story ends and just, poof, gone. Figure out a way to write a surface so this AU doesn't zero sum and dissapear at the ending, OK? I'll stall as long as I can if Frisk reaches me."
Wait what?
"So this AU dies in the end?" Ink asks.
"Yeah," The King of Hell replies, "it's not built to last after the credits role. We need another writer to help us. Can I trust you Ink?"
"Of course," Ink replies, "I protect all AUs."
"Just in case," Core explains, "I'll start evacuating monsters in Paper Cuts and in the Archives to the Omega Timeline. Good luck Ink!"
"Be safe kiddo!" Ink smiles.
Core begins to warn the monsters about the coming end...
"Here," The King of Hell hands Ink what Nathan would order, a Hellfire supreme with extra dip, "that's what Nathan would want. Also, since I'll either owe you big or die when this is over, take this on the house. It's a sampler pladder."
A Fireball Sampler has been added to Ink's inventory.
"Why don't you just head to the Omega Timeline?" Ink asks.
"Wish I could," The King of Hell explains, "but as on OC of Edgar, I'm bound here. Edgar emits mana, and we need mana to exsist. If it were our world, it wouldn't be be an issue, but this is an AU. There's no natural mana here, only that Edgar emits from writing. We need him alive, and he needs us to write. Reaper hasn't quite put this together though so... yeah. In our world, we'd be fine, but in yours Ink, without a writer like Edgar, we'd die. So, readers, ya still wanna kill Edgar?"
Now the readers answer the King of Hell's question.
