Battle Against a True Monster Part One

So, Underfell Papayrus? Really? Huh. I thought you'd revive these Frisks, but whatever floats your boat.

Underfell Papayrus feels power flowing him. He dashes through the Archives with impossible speed, eventually catching up with Ink Sans and Core Frisk, who have just entered the actual town of Paper Cuts.

Underfell Papayrus decides to just avoid them and save time, entering Ink Falls.

"Huh," Ink smiles, "not gonna lie, I kinda like this AU."

"How so?" Core inquires.

"It's different," Ink replies, "the characters don't fit their roles, not really. It's like Edgar just pulled names out of a hat. Wouldn't surprise me."

No, there is a method here.

"Who said that?" Core asks.

My name's Nathan. Hey, do me a favor, I'm curious who Grilby is. There's a restaurant there, called Hellfire. Pick me up some food eh? I can help you guys out. I can tell you anything about God, or, Edgar. Deal? Cause I'm hungry!

"Works for me," Ink replies, "we'll check it out Nathan."

The two head into Hellfire, only to be greeted by the King of Hell.

Wait, what? Isn't he Asgore? I thought the King of Hell was this timeline's Asgore.

"I'm also Grilby," the King of Hell replies, "you're Ink, right?"

Ink nods.

"Well," the King of Hell sighs, "you best be going then."

"Is that a threat?" Ink asks.

"Oh, no. It's a warning. There are beings in this timeline who hate writers, and, well, you have a writer's soul Ink. You gotta get outta Paper Cuts before-"

Notedrake and Pentale Lesser Dog enter, and apon seeing him, attack Ink...

Meanwhile, Pentale Frisk continues through Inkfalls, and they are getting sick of Reaper's allies attacking them. They consider FIGHTing, but decide to offer MERCY. As they proceed, they get the feeling they're being watched. They reach the area with the echo flowers. The echo flowers are white like paper, keeping up with the writing theme.

Frisk approaches one.

"This is a note flower," it explains, "if you write something on its petals: it wilts, releases its seeds, regrows, and repeats what was written on it. Trust me, it was hard to write all this on a flower."

Frisk approaches the next one.

"Many wonder how Gen3king died," it says.

Frisk approaches the next one, curious now.

"Gen3king was always insecure," the note flower states, "all his OCs hated him and Edgar."

Frisk approaches the next one, which says, "he turned to the readers, seeking to be appriacated, to have someone like him, but when they read Reaper's tale, they turned on him and attacked."

Frisk, now desperate to know, dashes towards the last note flower.

"That's when it all went wrong," the flower explains, "but I don't wanna write about it. See ya later, Frisk. Sincerely, God."

Frisk sighs at the agitating cliff hanger. What happened after that? Why don't you read the canon version and find out What happened to Gen after the attacks? Just know, that at the ending of this book, my timeline went a bit differently...

Frisk continues through Ink Falls, searching for Reaper...

Meanwhile, Armored sees Reaper, Pestilence, and Error walking through a puddle of ink as more ink plummets from the ceiling of the cavern, drenching the ground below in a deep black, dripping down from the stone above.

"Reaper!" She exclaims.

Reaper grips his scythe, rage in his eyes, but no malice in his heart. He hides beneath his cloak, hiding from his feelings.

"What is it?" He demands.

"Don't play dumb!" Armored exclaims, "it's me!"

"You betrayed me," Reaper growls, "I could have killed Gen and Edgar if you had just joined me, but you turned on me."

"Reaper," Armored pleads, "look at yourself. You're out of control! This is genocide!"

"It is justice," Reaper coldly retorts.

"At what cost?" Armored asks, genuinely concerned.

"Any cost," Reaper replies, maintaing an ice cold stare and a distant tone in his voice."

"Reaper," Armored pleads, "you're killing yourself. You have to stop. In this timeline, and the canon one. I mean, look at the holiday specials."

"You can't continue down this path," Armored sighs, "I'm afraid I must stop you, no matter what."

"Tratior," Reaper growls, "so be it."

Reaper starts a FIGHT. The song that plays is not even from Undertale, but from Steven Universe. The song from the episode The Test begins to play as Reaper's dedication to his goal is tested.

Steven Universe, huh, kinda an odd choice but whatever.

*Your sins weigh heavy.

Reaper ignores his sins, and prepares to FIGHT...

Now the readers choose who to help, Reaper or Armored.
