Week ten. #15: Anna.

In Conversation

---Why do human beings hurt eachother?

What?---

---You heard me.

Hmm, I don't know.---

---Of course you do, you know everything. Just think of something, anything.

Okay....Well, human beings hurt eachother because they're afraid of getting hurt. Human beings protect themselves.---

---What do you mean?

Think of it this way, a boy and a girl are dating. The boy notices that his girlfriend seems to be bored and disinterested in his presence. Feeling that he has caused her change in demeanor, he breaks up with her. Now, she can't leave him for someone better. But she didn't want to break up. She was dealing with her own issues at home and she wasn't bored, she was distracted. But he didn't break up with her to hurt her. He broke up with her to protect himself.---

---Well that's depressing.

But true. Another example: if someone had to die, would you want it to be a stranger, or you.---

---The stranger, obviously.

See, you just proved my point. You would let a random stranger die so that you could survive.---

---Oh. Well I look like the bad guy now, don't I?

No. It's just natural. Human beings are animals, and the first objective of every animal is to survive.---

---So you're saying that human beings hurt eachother to protect themselves?

Exactly.---

---Well then I guess no one is truly evil after all.
