Week Eight. #14: Srivasu.

SONG OF THE PHOENIX

Wake up from your lucid dreams,

To watch the world hold its breath,

Hush

Complete stillness in the air.

The drops of rain that lashed down,

Until now, from the heavens above,

Plop

Now stay transfixed in time.

Then you see from afar,

The big golden wisps curling ever so slightly- at ends,

Then the magnificent wings spread out,

Shrouding the world with its bright shadow.

Head raised, with golden locks flowing,

Eyes filled with serenity, the protector of the world,

It opens its mouth,

To fill the nothingness with a melancholy melody.

Then all at once, it soars above,

A treacherous smile- bids goodbye,

Then all at once, flames engulf,

And you have watched the birth of another sun.

Suddenly, somewhere from within the stars,

A single streak of lightning travels to touch the earth's soil,

Crackle

Followed by the groan of a lonely thunder.

The stardust of its soul will be carried by the wind,

To places far and beyond the nine realms,

Patter

The raindrops start their descent.

You woke up from your lucid dreams,

And held your breath with the world,

Now sing the song of the flaming phoenix,

Till it rises once again.
