Side Chapter: Saint Patrick's Day
It has been a while since I have updated this book. I have been trying to keep my promises to keep writing, but I end up pausing my writing midway. The main problem is that I have so much going on due to college and friends/family issues. To make it up to you, I decided to write a little side story to boost my creative flow. Don't worry, guys; I'm not ending this book so soon, if that is what you were wondering.
I personally really want to know what you think of this book in general. Point some things out to me that I may have accidentally looked over. Or just other ideas for the book you guys have (don't worry, I'll make sure to credit you guys at the beginning of the chapters).
Anyways, enjoy the side chapter of Saint Patrick's Day Confession!
I flop onto my bed in defeat, or should I say Adrien's bed. It has been all day since I have seen the green-eyed blonde, and no one knows where he is. The last time I saw him was right before an Akuma attack when we hung out by the park. He forced me to head back to the Mansion before running off someplace. It was already four o'clock in the afternoon- it has been seven hours since then. I haven't talked to Gabe nor my parents yet, since it hasn't been twenty-four hours, however. I rolled over onto my back, staring up at the tall white ceiling.
"Ugh, where is he?"
"Where's who?"
"Adri, he hasn't come home-" Sitting up, I realized that someone was there, "AHH" Feeling my body shift near the edge of the bed, I grabbed a handful of the blankets. But sadly, that didn't help me from falling off. The pain spread from my back brought me back to my senses.
"Are you okay, Angel?" I could hear the guy trying to hold back a laugh, "I didn't mean to scare you."
"Chat? What are you doing here?!" I sit up, holding the blankets up to my chest, "Aren't you supposed to be in Paris?" He nods before sitting down on the bed.
"Yeah, but my family decided to come to America for a bit. Ironically, we are staying in Seattle, and I heard you came back home. A-Adrien was the one who told me he saw me by the park and went to talk to me..."
"Is he back?"
"Y-Yeah," He stuttered, looking away, "H-He's in the bathroom getting ready to take a shower." I nodded before getting myself off the floor.
"Thank you for helping Adri get back home."
"No problem-" I hugged him, wrapping my arms around his neck. He froze, his body stiffening before relaxing. Chat sighed into the hug before tightening his grip around my waist.
"I missed you..." I whisper, primarily to myself.
"I miss you too..." He mumbled, "Even though you seem so close, yet so far away."
Soon afterward, Chat left before he saying that he has to go back to his family. As much as I would like to spend more time with him, I let him go. My heart felt so heavy while I watched him jump out of the window into the city of Seattle. The city on which I wished I could explore more, but I rarely did due to my strict parents.
"Hey, (Y/N)!
"Oh hey-" I looked up before adverting my eyes down. I felt my cheeks turn red as I brought the blankets to my face.
"What's the matter-"
"You're only wearing a t-towel."
"What? OH!" I heard him run across the room to the closet. I giggled, hearing him mumbling to himself.
"Oh! Adri?" He poked his head out of the closet, "Don't forget to wear green." His eyes brows furrowed in confusion before putting out his famous smirk.
"But I always wear green" I smiled, rolling my eyes.
"A stripe of green won't do for today, Mr. Agreste."
After a couple more minutes, he came out with dark green skinny jeans and a lighter green shirt with the words "Happy Saint Patrick's Day."
"Well, you are definitely are in the mood for this holiday."
"LOOK! LOOK!" I pointed at my phone screen, putting it up to Adri's face.
"Why is that river so green?"
"In Chicago, for Saint Patrick's, they dye their river green!"
"Really!? What is so special about that?" We walked around downtown Seattle, going to meet my friends at a coffee shop.
"It was canceled due to Covid-19, but someone decided to do it anyway." I smiled, pushing my green sunglasses up more on my face, "I'm glad too... It makes things more- um- normal?"
"Yeah, I get what you mean," Adri pointed towards his Chat Noir mask, "I would rather not wear this, but if it would protect people, I'll keep wearing it."
It didn't take long to get to the cafe and to get to our seats. After a bit, Jasmine, Em, and Lexie walked in and sat down, giggling.
"So your the famous Penpal of (Y/N)!" Lexie squealed, putting her hand out, "My name is Lexie, by the way." Adri smiled, taking her hands into his and shook.
"Nice to meet you," Letting go, Adri looked at the other two, "And who would you guys be?"
"Emily- My name is Emily," Her face lit up with red, "B-But you can call me by Em."
"Nice to meet you."
"And my name is Jasmine,"
"Also nice to meet you as well," Adri chuckled, scratching the back of his neck, "S-So, how long have you guys friends with (Y/N/N)?"
"Ever since (Y/N) transferred to our high school."
"You transferred?" He turned to look at me, "I didn't know that." I giggled, grabbing the menu.
"Yeah, beforehand, I was homeschooled until my parents argued about how to raise me." I skimmed the menu, trying not to make a big deal out of it, "My mother wanted me to have experience of what highschool felt, and my father didn't think it was a big deal. Well, my mother won, and not too long afterward, I went to the school I am now."
"You never told me about it." Lex pouted, also grabbing her menu, "I thought that you tell us everything..."
"W-Well, it is something that hasn't been brought up, and it isn't something that I like to bring up." I felt a hand on mine, startling me a bit. I looked over, seeing Adri's hand on top of mine- smiling knowingly.
"Hello, Welcome to Morehouse Coffee Shop." I looked over towards the voice, my eyes widening, "My name is-"
"Carter?" He looked up, looking up from his pen and paper.
"(Y-Y/N)?!" Carter looked around the table before his eyes landed on Adri's hand on mine. He cleared his throat and looked back up at me.
"S-So um," Clearing his voice again, "I'm your waiter for today. What would you guys want to drink to start?" We ordered our drinks, and he went out to put our order in.
"I have a question for you guys!" Lexie started, looking at our hands, "Are you guys dating?" My (e/c) eyes widen, not knowing what to say.
"N-No, we aren't," Adri stuttered before mumbling something under his breath.
"Well, here are your guys' drinks." Carter placed our drinks on our table before looking at me, "Are you guys ready to order?"
I felt my hand being squeezed tighter, and I felt tension come into the room.
Oh boy...
