"Oh HELL, NAH!" I screamed, pushing myself from my desk.
"Oh! There you are, my little flower!" The boy's eyes smile, making the room go quiet. It was evident that everyone was trying to translate what we were saying. Some people were giving puzzling looks at both of us as we both stared at each other.
"As you were saying, Chloe?" The teacher clears her throat after a couple of moments of silence.
"Before I was RUDELY interrupted, here is my penpal, Jonah." She gleamed after staring at me with daggers.
"Nice to meet you guys! Sorry that we had to meet under these circumstances, but hopefully soon, I get to meet all of you guys in person!" Jonah stated, speaking fluent french. I swear almost all of the girls started to swoon over him. It wasn't like he wasn't attractive; his personality just sucked, in my opinion. Over the years that I have known him, I was the only one in the room that knew what he was.
"Well, I'm afraid that there aren't any available seats at the moment-"
"Excuse me?" I raised my hand, interrupting the teacher talking, "Jonah can take my spot if that's alright with him. I'll sit next to Adrien since we are living under the same roof for the time being."
Just because I don't like the guy doesn't mean that I can be mean to him all the time...
RIGHT?!
"Oh, how sweet you are, my little flower." He starts to walk over to me before taking his hand out for me to grab, "Is it that you're finally falling for me~?"
"Six feet apart," I coldly say as I got up and walked the other direction, away from him, "Those are the rules, sweetheart." Gagging internally from my comment, I sat down next to Adri, who was looking at me, confused.
"W-Well, anyway, apparently the other students won't be joining us today due to the different time zones. I just received a text from their teacher as Chloe was introducing her penpal. They have promised to join the class in Zoomy tomorrow." Everyone's eyes widen in disbelief before cheering happily.

"Flower!"
"Not today, Jonah..." I mumbled, getting together my stuff since the class is done for the day. Sadly, it was just him and I in the room, so I knew he was talking to me.
"So where's your Penpal? Did he ditch you or something?"
"No, he has fencing practice after school today." After zipping up my bag, I swung the strap onto my shoulder.
"Well, since you're free, wanna do the project that we are doing together?" I raised my eyebrow at him.
"First off, we can speak English instead of French. And Second off, there is such a thing called COVID-19. Or did you forget about that already?"
"Don't be like that flower!" He threw his arm over my shoulder, bringing me closer to him, "Besides, we can always go to the library or just stay in here if you want."
"Well, fine," I grab my bag and put it over my shoulder, "let's go to the library then. We can at least get our resources figured out." We walked out together, him trying to get closer to me by talking to me. I just ignored him, not wanting to talk more than I want to.
All of a sudden, an arm was wrapped around my waist, pulling me towards the person.
"What the-" I looked to the owner of the arm to see Adri.
"A-Adri-"
"Where do you guys think you are going?" Adri wasn't looking at me but at Jonah. He was wearing his usual white fencing gear. However, his eyes were a different shade of green when he stared at Jonah.
What is happening here?
"We were going to the library to work on the project that our teacher assigned us back at home," I state after a while due to them having a staredown. Adri looks down at me, his eyes lightening up to their usual green eyes.
"Well, that makes sense on why he is following you like a dog," he smirks before placing his face near my neck- close to my ear, "Just text me if something happens, okay?" He backs away from me and leaves, but not before ruffling my (h/c) hair with his hand.
"I swear, sometimes I want to hit him," I mumbled to myself, trying to fix my hair, "ANYWAYS, I'll show you to the library."
(Letting you guys know ahead of time that the upcoming section may make people feel uncomfortable. However, it is very informative, so read at your own cost. The main language has been switched to English until further notice)
It didn't take long to reach the library and to get situated. We were sitting at one of the tables near the back, much to my discomfort. After getting some books about our project, we read and wrote down notes. Even though Jonah could be an ass sometimes, he was an excellent student.
"Hey, Flower?" I hummed in response, trying to finish up the current notes I have yet to finish, "Could you translate this for me to make sure I'm reading this right?"
"Yeah, just give me a moment." I shifted my weight towards him after I finished my notes to read his book, "Where do you need the translation?" He pointed towards the spot, and the words moved on their own- automatically translating it to me.
"To make it easier for you, it's telling on how condoms reduce the risk of STDs" I placed my hand on the paper as I pointed out the numbers on the paper, "here are the statistics of it."
"So these things are kinda useful?" He pulls one out, making my face red.
"Jonah, put that away!" I whispered yelled, "Why do you have one in the first place?"
"Well, you never know-"
"You know what- don't finish that sentence," I interrupted, shifting back onto my seat correctly, "But to answer your question, yes. It's not the only thing they are useful for, though." looking back at my book, I kept reading.
"Like impregnating someone?"
"Yes"
"But what are the chances of it breaking?"
"Well, it depends on the brand and the size the user is wearing. Unless you mean by them purposely poking holes in it? Then it is a guaranty that it will break."
"Can you explain it to me more?" I sighed, leaning back on the chair and crossing my arms around my chest.
"Well, for example, if the condom is too small, it wouldn't feel great on the user, for starters. That should be the number 1 big flag- being too tight. If it's too big, then it would just slide off the person without much effort. Not to mention that different brands have different sizing scales. You wouldn't know which one works for you until you try them out in different sizes."
"So you are telling me that I have to buy them to try them on?" I looked at him with my eyebrow raised, "Okay- I kinda see why..."
"Besides," I shook my head, "People buy different brands depending on what they are looking for- either to please themselves, their partner, or even both."
"So it just really depends on what they want?" I nodded, "Well, do the prices matter when you buy them?"
"Yes, and no. Most of their prices are generally near the same price as others. Though the cheaper they are, the more likely something would happen to it."
"Well, you definitely know your stuff."
"It just so happens that I am doing a project about it, Jonah." He chuckles before leading closer towards me.
"Have you ever done it?" My (e/c) eyes go wide, feeling my heart race a bit thinking about it.
"N-No," I turn my head away from him, feeling uncomfortable, "Besides, I have other things to worry about."
"Like?" Turning my head back towards him, I raise an eyebrow.
"Like school and my modeling?"
"Sometimes you have to let loose, Ms. Taylor" Jonah backs away from me, properly sitting on his chair, "You can't have those things determine and run your future. Besides, it sounds kinda boring if you ask me."
"Well, I didn't." Unhooking my arms from my chest and sitting up straight, "If you ask me, you bullying other people sounds kinda boring to me." His eyes grow wide, shocked that I am talking to him that way.
"It's not boring."
"Well, it's definitely a turn-off for me" grabbing another book from the pile, I open it up and start reading.
For the rest of the time, it was silent between the both of us. Obviously, Jonah was thinking about what I was saying, but I just let him be. It has been a while since I have seen him so quiet in my presence that it just feels off. I felt a tap on my shoulder, making me jump just a little.
"Sorry for scaring you, but your penpal just walked into the library." My eyes looked over towards the door, seeing the blonde coming in our way. Smiling, I get up and walk over to him.
"There you are! I tried contacting you, but you weren't picking up your phone," Adri says as I stopped in front of him, "Our ride is going to be here in a little bit, so go get packed up." His emerald eyes traveled around my body, trying to see if he could see anything. He was probably wondering if Jonah left any marks on me.
A little overprotective much?
"I'm fine, Adri," His eyes now stared into my own, "I'll pack up." I turned around, heading over to the table where Jonah and I were.
"Hey," He looked up from his book, "I have to get going. Where are you staying?" I closed my notebook and started to pack up my things.
"I'm staying at my penpal's hotel with my parents for the time being."
"U-Um..." I paused, wondering if it was a good idea to ask, but decided to anyway, "Do you need a ride there?" His eyes grow wide, giving a sideways glance behind me towards Adri.
"Y-You sure? I can call my driver to take me."
"It's okay, Jonah. It wouldn't be much of an inconvenience to drop you off," I continued packing my things before zipping up my bag, "Besides, we should discuss more about the project on when to do it..."
"Yeah, sure. I'll text my parents saying you are giving me a ride." I smiled, collecting the books into my arms.
"Okay, go get packed up. I'll check out these books for us," balancing the books with one arm, I took out my hand, "Give me the books that you have so I can check that one as well." Without much hesitation, he handed me the two books he had out.
"Adri, we are going to give him a ride back to Chole's hotel. Could you be a darling and wait here while I check out these books?" I turned around, not waiting for an answer to do what I need to do.
"Hello, ready to check things out?" I nodded to the librarian, bringing up five books to the table.
"What's your name?"
"(Y/N) Taylor" She nodded and started typing away on her computer.
"Since technically you don't go to school here, I'll put it under Mr. Agreste's account with a sub-note."
"Thank you-"
"Before you leave, can you sign this paper for return..." She took out a piece of paper, filled with writing with a blank line at the bottom for a signature, "This is an agreement that you will return these books on time or that you will be charged with a late fee." She took a pen out of a pencil cup and handed it over to me with the paper. I quickly signed the document before handing over the paper and pen.
"A-Also, if you don't mind," She brings out a little blank notecard and pushes back the pen to me, "Can you sign this for my daughter? She has been a fan of yours for a while now, and that she aspires to be you," My heart clenched, feeling of warmth spread through my body as I smiled.
"Of course! Just tell me her name, and I'll write something extra for her." She tells me, and I start writing.
Dear Noelle,
I hope that you and you're family are doing okay during these challenging, confusing times. When things go back to normal, I want to invite both you and your family to one of my shows in the future. Just pick one of the shows you want to attend and contact me directly to get tickets- VIP if I may add.
Here is my number: (1-XXX) XXX-XXXX
If you want any of your friends to join, just let me know. But until then, stay safe, beautiful!
XOXO,
(Y/N) Taylor
I handed the slip of paper and the pen toward her. She read the piece of little paper and looked back at me with shock. I smiled as the librarian started to tear up.
"T-Thank you so much. My daughter will be so thrilled when I get home and give this to her!"
"You don't have to thank me. Anyways, I have to go! If she wants to contact me just to talk, I'm fine with that. Just don't give out my number to anyone else, kay?" She nods before grabbing out her phone, probably texting her daughter about the surprise she has later.
I walk back towards Adri and Jonah with the books in my hand. Tention was high as I got closer, making me feel uneasy. No words were said during that moment, but their gazes on each other showed dislike. It didn't even seem like they saw me walking towards them.
"I'm ready," I whispered, being careful on how I approached. Getting out of their trance, they looked at me and smiled as nothing happened. Raising an eyebrow, I looked at them before turning around and walking away. I wasn't going to wait for them and be in the middle of the situation.
I walked outside to see the car that Adri and I are picked up in. Walking up, I tapped on the window for Gorilla to roll down. He did and looked at me in curiosity.
"Is it alright if we can drop off a friend of mine at the Bourgeois hotel before we head back home?" He grunted with a nod and rolled the window back up. I turned my head around at the school, seeing both of the boys walking down the stairs.
"I'll sit in the middle," I stated before opening the door for myself with a bit of difficulty and went in. Swinging my bag at my feet, I kept the books in my arms as Adi and Jonah entered the car- Adri to the left and Jonah to the right of me.
"We are situated now," and with that, the car started moving.
"Here are your books, Jonah," I handed him the two books from my stack. He grabbed the books from my hand, his hand covering mine. My face heats up as I looked at him, Jonah having a smile on his face. I retracted my hand away from his and faced forward.
"So when do you want to meet up again?" I asked, not wanting the car ride to feel awkward.
"How about we finish getting our sources and then discuss it next week?" After a while, the vehicle comes to a halt, indicating that we have arrived at the hotel.
"Okay," I felt a tug on my arm, pulling me away from Jonah. His eyes widen at both of us, but he decided that it wasn't worth it. He opened the car to let himself out and closed it, walking into the hotel.
(The main language has been switched to French until further notice)
"What was that about?" I asked, shifting myself into a comfortable position against Adri. I took off my mask, finding it harder to breathe now that we were in the car.
"What do you mean?" He moved his arm around my shoulder, giving me a side hug.
"You and Jonah?" I questioned, looking up at him. He looks down at me, our faces being a foot apart.
"I just don't like the guy. He gives off a weird vibe to me."
"Well, sorry to burst both our bubbles, we have many more meetings together." I close my eyes and sigh, "It's not like I want to be there either, but I have to keep my grades up. If I don't do the project, I could fail health class."
"What is your project about?" Sighing dramatically, I nuzzle my head into his shirt.
"Transmitted diseases or more specifically STDs..." Adri coughed, probably starting to feel uncomfortable with the subject.
"That must be awkward for you..."
"It sure is..."
